1481  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: August 30, 2023, 11:55:03 PM
Sorry to hear about the whole drought issue causing some instability of food prices and the alike,  but am interested to know if you are affected by the oil prices too as this was what came to mind with the whole Russia- Ukraine war which has destabilized the oil/gas prices world over..and it's effects have a ripple effect to pretty much everything though we have adjusted and used to it by now.
1482  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Face unlock on bitcoin wallet devices on: August 30, 2023, 09:58:25 PM
To be honest I believe the problem actually lies with us the end users! We are always looking for convenience in trying  to save us time from the process of copying a private key and pasting it..which has pushed these app developers to use biometrics to allow us access to our wallets ( surprisingly bank apps do this too) and I don't see this stopping any time soon as no serious losses have been reported yet...
Btw when it comes to biometrics locks, isn't this dependant on the security of the operating system...if it can be fooled with a picture of you then don't consider  enabling it.

But on the bright side, if someone had passed on and their device had all these wallets biometric locked..it means access to the treasure can easily be retrieved by a spouse unlike a wallet locked by a pvt key which once key isn't found its over for you.
1483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 30, 2023, 05:32:36 PM
If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?
Agreed the taste of your first win always makes gambling look easy and before you know it, you have increased your risk from 5 dollars per bet to 50 dollars or more and then if you lose this bigger bet, you double your risk and unknowingly you start chasing your loses and this is how recklessness comes in and in some circumstances this is how people get hooked to gambling & if not controlled you get addicted to it.
1484  Economy / Speculation / Re: How passionate are you buying Bitcoin now? on: August 30, 2023, 04:59:56 PM
Let's just say when everybody is talking about buying bitcoin just because they see some green going on in the markets...for me that's never going to be a great time to buy as it will be at a premium cost,  but talk about buying the dip..here this is were you get the passion and satisfaction of catching a low and discounted coins while everybody else is scared of losing their money as they see markets likely to crash further...

So like the basics state, buy low and sell high and with this strategy you will never go wrong.

Officially‼️ Eden Hazard is set to retire from professional football.
According to the media, the Belgian captain has plans to announce his retirement from professional football at the age of 32. Many clubs have been interested in the signing of Eden Hazard this summer at 32. But he decided to call it a day on his career. It seems that Real Madrid will be his last team in his career.
Eden Hazard has spent four seasons wearing the white shirt, and until now he has been without a team. He has had several offers to continue his career with another team, but it seems that none of them have convinced the striker. At this point in the summer, Hazard would have decided not to listen to any more proposals and hang up his boots.
Am wondering why most strikers at the age of 32 would be hanging their boots when they still have alot to offer in terms of experience that the younger players can get a thing or two...

And for a skillful player like him, Saudi Arabia wouldn't be a bad idea just to make bank $$$ then call it a day...whatever is going on could be a decision made out of duress and don't believe he wanted this! If this is true, enjoy your retirement sir.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Constant wins in the casino for several days, then constant losses. Noticed?! on: August 30, 2023, 01:49:50 PM
Playing for many years, I observe a certain series of wins and losses. It looks like it every time! Also in casino chats, a lot of people talk about it.

Most of the time the casino takes the money. But when the winning session comes, on this day many slots give you a solid win, it is impossible to lose. This successful session can last several days.
As soon as this ends, absolutely all slots begin to take money.

How do you win and lose?
For casino games or slots, the giving sometimes is based on the jackpot system which needs to reach a certain threshold before giving it out, sometimes I think it's just the algorithm in terms of casino games but when it comes to sports,  it's about making your own luck to have a winning run!!!

Btw, when it comes to sports gambling it's very much normal based on the fact that everyday comes with its own luck...and a person has a different mindset with each day which means if you play on a day you have a clear mind and luck is on your side, you can have a good winning run.
1487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [JUST IN] Grayscale wins lawsuit against the SEC on: August 30, 2023, 01:25:22 PM
The current market price hasn't done justice after receiving this great news, as things looked like a one way street in favour of SEC! But against all odds the coin flipped in favor of Grayscale which has let most of our coins in green, and we need to build enough momentum to push price up  and get the herd mentality
and buying back on the road Cool

While they may have won their lawsuit, this just puts them on the list awaiting approval with everyone else.
Will take the "W" for now...

And the court siding with Grayscale opens up the doors for more to get on that list... But I guess the real fight hasn't began as getting the approval process is another pain in the b***
1488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question on Governemnt's Sales of Seized Bitcoins on: August 30, 2023, 12:20:45 PM
I want to know, when the government of a country who have seized bitcoins decide to auction it off, do they auction the bitcoin based on the price as at the time it was seized or at the current market price which is the time it is being auctioned off?
When offloading such coins on an auction platform,  it can not be sold based on market value as this could change the nature of the transaction and I believe government seized items all go through public auctions to avoid any conflict of interest from within...though to protect the market they could reserve a minimum selling price to avoid crashing our crypto markets as they are stake holders in this Smiley
1489  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: August 29, 2023, 10:45:30 PM
When one talks about having discipline of how money is used, it all comes down to having a budget that you will follow nomatter the circumstances!! Yes this includes emergencies as others go out of their budget to spend extra which shouldn't be the case, as you need to allocate some money that will go towards miscellaneous items or emergencies so that when that time comes...the huge bills dont hurt your pocket or cause some hypertension...

Managing expenses and maintaining discipline can be challenging, but here are a few strategies you can try: create a budget and stick to it, differentiate between wants and needs, avoid impulse buying, set savings goals, track your expenses, and practice self-control. Remember, small steps can lead to big financial wins!
Easier said than done, this is from a personal experience  Tongue

Btw, from my observation...why is it that women find it easy to budget as co.pared to the men who spend without considering budgets Huh
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: August 29, 2023, 09:18:40 PM
Is there anyone who has transferred Sterling to their squad? He is a player who has always problems on finishing. He showed a good performance against Luton and carried me to top last week. He has a potential to collect points for a few more weeks because of Chelsea's fixture advantage. However the idea of making a safer choice like Maddison in his place isn't bad at all.

Sterling did have a good game in game week three but the only problem I see in him ever since he moved to Chelsea is inconsistency to perform!! But I see no reason why he shouldn't be given an opportunity to prove himself once again that his the real deal, otherwise great fixtures ahead for his team Roll Eyes

Btw, looking at the higher price of Maddison,  this tells the full story as his involved in most attacks of his club , which makes him more likely and easily to score points than Raheem Sterling... but here Raheem looks like a good catch to free up some funds Smiley
1491  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just Learnt About A Major Risk Involved In Stable Coins on: August 29, 2023, 09:07:10 PM
This forum is really helpful I must confess. I never knew about Pegging and Depegging. But after my previous post on whether to save in stable coins or my local currency, I got to know that even stable coins have their own risks involved, in which Depegging is one of the major risks
Above all things, it's also important to state that as much as this " Pegging and Depegging" is considered as a risk, it actually doesn't happen often which is why stablecoins are still in use today, meaning they might not be of high risk after all Roll Eyes
But what really scares the fintech world when it comes to stablecoins,  has to be the centralized foundation they are built on which still remains in our subconscious as someone has an invisible hand in them which is the major risk imo...
1492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons Taken from Previous Bull Markets: How Will Your Approach Change? on: August 29, 2023, 01:17:59 PM
Not everyone will agree to this, but ever since we had that big crash and markets went down & failed to recover back to $70K or post a new all time high..tbh am nolonger a strong believer of "hodling " as this ties up your investment without taking out any profits as you try compounding to maximize your portfolio growth...with this tough lesson am now more of a take out any small profits out as they add up with time!

Best strategy for the bull run, is to accumulate your bitcoin using DCA method and also take advantage if the price of bitcoin when it dips to buy a good amount.
This is a good approach, but if you are fond of looking at charts on a daily basis you could actually have cold feet and not stick to the strategy  Roll Eyes
1493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WEIRD BITCOIN CONVERSATIONS AT GATHERINGS - SHARE THE CRAZIEST STATEMENTS MADE on: August 29, 2023, 06:48:09 AM
Things I always hear people say when it comes to internet scams is , someone introduced me to bitcoin and promised to double my money by the end of the month but before you know it they lose everything after the investment....which is crazy, and when I think about it, I always wonder how these guys allow this to happen because buying bitcoin doesn't need another person to broker such a deal and later on lose your investment..

Rule of thumb I'd always that if you are going into unfamiliar territory always do your research to expect the unexpected!!
1494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hong Kong officially launches its first Bitcoin and crypto trading platform on: August 28, 2023, 10:32:17 PM
Its long overdue for a highly technological country!!! Btw, this works in bitcoins favor as sooner or later other countries around the world will feel left out in this fintech adoption, and will be forced to accommodate cryptocurrencies with a favorable regulatory framework..which translates into demand for crypto.

Am just hoping China won't be knocking on Hong Kongs doors in trying to dictate how they should be running the country or using their financial freedom because we have seen how these guys tried to suppress their freedoms some few months back.
1495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: presuring someone into Bitcoin investment on: August 28, 2023, 08:01:49 PM
Op seeing how this bitcoin investment ended with a happy ending, let's just say count yourself lucky!!!
I say lucky because  you persuaded your Mom into investing in an asset she had no interest in and the only reason she would have invested  was because  you might have given her cold shoulders or the relation changed and she wanted to restore this..otherwise  if this sell wasn't taken earlier like you did...by now you would have been in bad books with her!

Moral of the story here is invest with money you are willing to lose and let it be a personal decision before enemies are made for bad business relations...

1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: August 28, 2023, 02:38:50 PM
So close to the finish line as this "could" be my first yellow cap of the pool depending on how today's results go and unfortunately I don't like the fixtures we have today!

Getafe vs Alaves looks like one of those unpredictable matches...as the draw looks like a probable result but the 1-0 is so tempting and hope result goes my way Roll Eyes

Goodluck ladies and gentlemen  Cool

ETH is eyeing cucurela right now. According to romano if MU is still talking about the possibility of taking him on a loan. I will strongly agree if he will be moving to the manchester united. This guy is always going up and down. The performance of cucurela is not stable and in addition if he very often in making blunders.
I know Erik ten Hag loves cheap players, but for once can we refrain from getting any being that can kick the ball and work with what we have! Besides we have players like Maguire that need to be offloaded before such deals can be inked to make money available to help bring more players easily..hope this move won't demotivate the rest of the team eyeing for this LB position with Luke shaw out.

They say that Joao Felix can be the replacement for Salah in case he leaves for a Saudi team soon. But the time is running out for English teams to make transfers. It ends by the end of this month as far as I know.

Can Felix be a good replacement for Salah? I don't know really. But if Liverpool don't have anyone else in their mind then they can just go for him. Felix is familiar with the EPL as he played for Chelsea for one season.
Felix was disappointing for Chelsea and to bring him back as the main guy for Liverpool is going to be a bad idea...let them look elsewhere!!
1499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 27, 2023, 11:44:57 PM
The rumours about Salah to join the Saudi Arabia team Al-Ittihad are getting stronger day by day. There is still a long time left for the transfer window to close for Saudi Arabia teams. This time period is enough to try their best to convince Liverpool with a much more improved offer. But there is a problem on this point.

The problem is about whether Liverpool can find a replacement with the money that will come from Salah's sale.
At this rate these guys are moving,  they will buy all our stars and will shall be forced to watch this league like we watch the Premier league!

Btw I hear just the salary itself is structured in such a way that the money he was making per week in Europe will be the money he will make per day which is crazy!!!! And with such a deal for his age I don't see Liverpool passing on this opportunity especially that his contract is almost coming to an end...

Otherwise Saudi Arabia is going to destroy the game we love and I don't like the moves they are pulling day in day out!!
1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I go with Bitcoin or Altcoins for the upcoming bull run cycle? on: August 27, 2023, 12:56:49 PM
Many people in the crypto market are still uncertain about which type of asset to hold onto for the upcoming growth cycle of the crypto market: Bitcoin or Altcoins.
It's going to be unfair to say go with bitcoin when the crypto markets have quite a vast number of coins (altcoins) to choose from..which means keep an open mind and invest in both as a way to diversify your portfolio should be the perfect strategy.

Btw bitcoin will not always be the coin with the best ROI, so if it's catching coins with decent ROI diversification is the name of the game.

Additionally, they're wondering when to catch the bottom or exit at the peak.
If your strategy is to catch the low or peak of the market,  then you are better off learning some technical analysis to buy  some bitcoin once all requirements are met.
