821  Economy / Economics / Re: "I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today" on: November 10, 2023, 06:52:42 PM
Yeah, you heard me right. Today I was scrolling through some Instagram Reels and I saw a video of a person saying this. I'm still confused. Should I laugh or should I feel sorry for that person?
When you get to a stage where you can blow big bills on yourself then you deserve it as its your money, secondly you don't want society to dictate how one should live.
besides don't believe everything you see on social media, some of it is fake and some of it subscribers pay for it via courses promising you to be taught how to be rich.

So here's how the whole video goes. The man said and I quote" I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today. So you are saying that someone out there smells like my salary."
If such content makes you feel bad about yourself, if I were you I would stop watching them for the sake of my mental health!!

To me, I will choose the second one. If I am happy with what I have and I am certain that it will continue to help me in the future too, then I have successfully achieved financial freedom. But most people these days are caught up with the thought of using luxurious thing and being able to continuously use it is financial freedom to them.

Do you agree or disagree to this? Let me know your thoughts.

Honestly Financial muscle is some kind of financial freedom if we go by definition, besides what's financial freedom when you have to work hard to get paid $$$$, tbh whoever coined this word should have meant freedom from the government and its bureaucracy
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin transaction fees? on: November 10, 2023, 04:06:24 PM

Its kind of fun watching what's going on with our transaction fees on mempool...

and interesting enough is that someone keeps bumping the average sat/vB to X5 whats there.... for example if this person finds the highest priority fee being 40 sat/vB he/she bumps it to 200 sta/vB and this has been going on all day!

Could miners be onto this and someone is enjoying spamming the Bitcoin network??

824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin transaction fees? on: November 09, 2023, 10:15:51 AM
Yes, as per mempool the fees are:

And it looks like this is a coordinate attack in the last couple of weeks to really increased the fees and make the bitcoin network not usable for ordinary investors. We have this kind of situation before if I'm not mistaken, around May and we didn't do anything about it but just to wait for this whole BRC-20 ordinals to die down. But now they are at it again. Specially the timing though, when we are about to make a good run, some entities will have to ruined it.
You can say that again!

At the moment bitcoin isn't looking attractive not only to ordinary investors but also to users who use it regularly for micro payments and actually with these high transaction fees I see this negatively affecting the gig industry which uses crypto payment a lot...

And with this coordinated attack, we must give the ordinals a hand for not getting bored doing this , spamming the network and all but with time they sure will need to focus their energy elsewhere, let's hang in there & wait for this wave to pass  Cool

825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: November 09, 2023, 05:38:24 AM
I finally calculated the points for the Newcastle promo as well. Sorry for the long wait, I just couldn't force myself to do it on my laptop.
Now I'm set up properly on my desktop PC again so I promise better performances Grin

The spreadsheet with your answers and total points calculations can be seen here.

The players within 3 points are:

Kanapka - 12
goodpunt - 11
Woodie - 11
Jinetics1111 - 10
Trofo - 9
vd309 - 9
cryptofrka - 9
Dittoup - 9
Omikifuse - 9
This looks super close and can change in a blink of an eye with those zero points that show up once in a while....

Also not to jinx the game or anything, I know for certain that Newcastle will be relegated to Europa or sent packing come December mid month because they are playing like a broken team in the CL...which means the Newcastle promo could be coming to an end earlier than anticipated especially after wowing us against PSG Tongue

And looking at how close these results are already looking like, what happens in the case of multiple winners??? Will SB honor multiple winning spots?

Cros2 do the other questions on the Newcastle promo count for anything ??

Jinetics1111 we meet again, wasn't even aware that this  game week I was drawn against you , and just to make sure I had a winning chance against you checked spreadsheet and I must say.. our answers aren't so much different and already Manchester United have cost me my first point with that Copenhagen goal as I had Manchester United to win and keep a cleansheet...@&#§€ Utd it has to be always these guys spoiling the winners, perhaps this should  be pinned on Rashford for that unnecessary Red  Card  Cry

Now it's 2-2 Wtf Utd

You want in immediately? We have one player that is kicked from competition and we can slot you in his place. You can fill the form this week for fun and start for real from next week.

Yeah sure, if that's fine with everyone else I wouldn't mind it Cheesy
Welcome to the started from the bottom now we here club lol

If the role is shift based depending on your timezone  I would be interested in the Market advertiser Role, though number of hours required for the job will be a great addition to avoid channel questions going unanswered Smiley

Secondly any other senior members of the project to report to incase things get to that level??

Last is this limited to English speakers or other languages are welcome?

Yes. Some bug regarding password protected tables. Cant make bets properly.  We are on it. We will create the same tournament again. Seems like this one is failing. We are sorry about it.
so this tournament has been called off...?

Or maybe will be rescheduled for a later date??
829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: November 08, 2023, 02:08:41 PM
The only reason that comes to mind is lack of competitions to stimulate demand and get players trying out racing horse, otherwise most bookies I know/use do have race horsing from race courses coming from all over world and it's just the players not talking about this sport...I actually doubt it if this board as a thread dedicated to this sport too...

Perhaps this should be a challenge to our Sportsbooks on the forum to try make deliberate challenges to get horse racing on the sports map like we have football challenges all year round in the gambling section, then interest will be generated from this..

831  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: November 08, 2023, 07:12:51 AM
Trading is most times profitable and sometimes challenging to traders
Unfortunately "most times profitable" is far from the reality, when we look at the numbers of successful chart traders, it's quite disappointing to say that few are actually profitable out there as this art/skill gets emotional along the way and many traders lose focus, and trade against their strategy which in the end gets to blowing accounts...

If these numbers are to be brought up, we need to work on our psychology and try by all means to stick to our strategies.

but it can ruin you just as gambling if you don't know how before venturing into it,  I have had a handful of terrible experience while trading and I discovered that it can return you to square one in terms of your finances if precautions is not taken.
Totally agree, trading is not for the faint hearted and it can actually can get you financially stressed if trading without any proper guidance or strategy.

Though am a better trader now, but I still thred with caution,  the best way for newbie to navigate their way in the market is to buy and hold, then sell when the price goes up.
When it comes to future market, newbie should stay off because it's for experience traders, even if you run a poll of people to tell of their experience in trading in this forum, %80 of people will rule out trading as a no go area based on their terrible experience while trading.

So newbie, stay of trading futures if you know nothing about technical analysis or fundamental analysis for not to be ruined.
If not using the leveraged trading platforms, buying and hodling is less risker though to enjoy decent profits as at now capital injection is needed unlike when Bitcoin was making a name of itself over 10 years ago...
832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2023, 10:26:57 PM
I get people that are always against Bitcoin and telling these guys am over 10 years in this whole crypto thing blows their minds as they think this is for social media scammers and hackers , but you know what I leave it at that as everyone has their opinions and will respect theirs especially that they talk from a non researched point of view and mostly these guys never back down from such arguments/debates.
But all I ask them to do is try to do their own research and once they go through this then we shall have a conversation & not from a heresy perspective!

I put 10 stakes on Shakhtar to beat Barcelona, maybe this can put me back in contention for Pot B Cheesy
Wow Wow 95 points in the bag and straight to the top, Congrats double H!!!

I wonder what it takes to pick out such matches knowing very well what firepower the other team brings to the table..otherwise Shakhtar was ready for this dance and lucky enough came out victors!!

I guess the formula is to go for teams that have pulled some upsets before to catch big winners as Shakhtar have done it before just like @logfiles said.

834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 07, 2023, 07:56:53 PM
Early Kickoff games have disappointed!!!

Borussia Dortmund beat Newcastle home and away with Newcastle failing to find the back of the net in both fixtures which shows experience in these games matters alot.

Elsewhere, Shakhtar Donetsk who are far from home played from a neutral ground in Germany hamburg because of the war, but this performance they brought today was beyond them!! Who limits Barcelona to one shot on target when they have over 60% ball possession, it's unexplainable and Barcelona have themselves to blame and 12 player here didn't play a role either  Roll Eyes Congrats Shakhtar, that was a brave fight!!!
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: November 07, 2023, 07:12:37 PM
Shakhtar Donetsk still making Barcelona dance to their tune, and at this point a Home win or  draw should carry some healthy odds for anybody that staked their points on this match.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund giving Newcastle United a good run for their money in the reverse fixture which is producing a similar scoreline like the last, and if you ask me this is a low scoring match with very few chances created in the match...

Otherwise pool B game of the week could be Shakhtar Donetsk vs Barcelona, let's see how this goes..
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin transaction fees? on: November 07, 2023, 06:34:49 PM
Had to check mempool, and from the image shown in the OP, the fees as am writing have actually jumped up another plus 20sat/vB which is currently averaging between 77 - 90 sat/vB and looking at number of transactions in the block these are actually getting filled up unlike same time last week we're we saw blocks carrying 1000 transactions to 2500 transactions but now they are all carrying 3500+ tx...which to me suggests that demand to get transactions confirmed in the next block is the primary reason!!!

With these high transactions, this makes making micro payments unattractive and alts could be benefiting from this for now..
837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to invest 8k for passive income. on: November 07, 2023, 03:25:38 PM
So as long as the risk isn't high enough I honestly don't see this forecast possible, even the stable earnings that come from staking don't matchup to the numbers you looking for....unless you pump in more capital to find a way to get that $20 per day.

Something that I see as a viable business around the forum could be the loan business but this takes time to know how to loan out, who to loan out, what venting process to use to avoid bad debts on the book otherwise that $8K around here can go a long way to archive you ROI per day...
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: November 07, 2023, 03:00:36 PM

Also, I see a number of stakes on Young Boys win and draw. Gambler degens! I'm a simple guy, I back NOT United again Wink
Young boys beating a city side that has found its form again, no chance...maybe Haaland isn't seeing much of the goal but his teammates are there to fill in the gaps and it's probably going to be a clean sheet today Smiley

Talking of United, these guys are just unpredictable at the moment, and if there is a result I would bank on its the win/draw as the team hasn't found someone to get on the scoresheet regularly but Copenhagen can't win a desperate Utd AFAIK, no chance!!!

Waiting on the Newcastle BVB early Kickoff as this gameweek has interesting matchups Smiley
839  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Things to avoid as a beginner on: November 07, 2023, 09:38:46 AM
I would just like to share few points which newbie should always remember and to avoid indulging in these things as mentioned below.

1. Avoid Bubble posting Burst posting :
I have seen users making continuous posts without any time gap just to complete their weekly Target for bounty campaigns or even signature campaigns,
I believe you meant burst posting...

Anyway, I don't know how applicable this is with high ranked members as it's expected that they know their way around the forum and some of the rules..unless it's a bought account or something, but when it comes to beginners meaning lower ranked members I think the forum has a mechanism of its own that prevents users from post bursting with an inbuilt waiting timer for each rank before a new post can be made and this works well...

2. Trading of merits:
Most of us will receive a random DM by users offering exchange saying they will share a merit to your account from their alternative account and ask you to share merit on their account.

The use of the word "MosT" makes this sound like a very common habit around the forum, but unfortunately haven't run into such...
840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using TV( GOTV, DSTV) monthly subscription money to invest in bitcoin on: November 07, 2023, 07:16:24 AM
Not sure how much those figures of 6400 & 2250 are in dollars but I think if you have other members in that home that do watch one or two programs on these TV stations it would be unfair to cut them off for an investment that will not be paying back anytime soon, if you can compromise for a cheaper package to free up so money I think that's a better option, better yet if you can get a good unlimited internet plan in your country am pretty sure you can find most of these programs online...which should allow you surf the web, keep in touch with the BCT forum and enjoy your favourite TV programs, hope this helps good luck.

for the sake of the kids so they can watch their favorite cartoon and I  get to save 4150 amount into Bitcoin.
What do you all think about this idea?
For the kids sake, Try compare IPTV package pricing against GOTV, DSTV and see if there is a huge saving that comes with going with the first option..
Better yet, doesn't this DStv package have an online platform that your can share with family and friends to cut on costs by splitting the bill or something so that you only pay a fraction of full cost to even save more...
