1541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tor+Blockchain wallet hacked? 633 btc loss on: October 13, 2014, 12:31:20 PM
Too bad to see this happening. I just have 2 doubts:

- Why didn't he keep such a big amount of BTC in cold wallet?
- Why was he using Tor? Is blockchain.info banned in China?

you should change the title of this thread

[BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 2014

Or maybe

[BCN] Secure, private, untraceable Oh never mind, we stole that tag line from Monero.

MONERO...  oh never mind, we stole the source code from Bytecoin.

we stole the source code from Bytecoin used with permission, and credited.

Just remember: No fraudulent 82% BCN premine, no Monero.

And I didn't know the "Secure, private, untraceable" tagline was a Monero copyright.

I had requested a key couple days back. Still haven't heard back.

Same here, I wonder why he stopped. At least one poster up there got it.

I also haven't heard from OP yet  Huh

I think this was just a publicity stunt to promote his website. Notice his username?

Dear owner of 1BonUSgFnTiRx1HstKeNd5dZEomBRrBN46

I recognised that your BTC address starts with 1BONUS and it just happened to cross my mind that your purpose to be born in this world should be to give away BONUS Bitcoins!
How can I be so ignorant fool to not recognise this universal truth and nothing less than a law of nature!

Anyway, I would like to apologise for my ignorance and I truly believe you're the one who will save the Earth from apocalypse.

So without wasting more of your valuable time, I would just give you my BTC address so that you can enlighten us with your precious Bitcoins:

This is strange. This address is sending its own funds to itself, paying the transaction fees.
What gives?
You should switch on advanced mode on bc.i

It does not change what I said. It is sending BTC to itself, still paying transaction fees.

Or am I missing something here?

May be he wanted to have a longer history for this address

Then he is ignorant as hell. Should have used multiple wallets.

1553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam coin charity fund idea on: October 09, 2014, 12:42:20 PM
"Scam Coin Charity, because shitcoins happen (tm)"

What do you guys think about starting a scam coin charity fund to help those who have fallen victim to scam coins?

1. Accept BTC donations
2. Identify scam coins and accept victim registration
3. Verification process for victims (verify how much BTC they lost in the scam)
4. Distribute donated funds evenly and fairly

It seems like it could be challenging, but also doable? thoughts?

So...   let developers scam the community members, and then collect donations from other community members? What's the point?

Instead, find out real identity of SCAM developers, make them spit out all scammed BTC, send those BTC to cancer society.

Or better yet - spread awareness in community to stop people from investing in SCAM coins in first place.

Noone see a certain similarity/copy with bitswift logo?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I noticed, but what's the point in mentioning it? People straight rip off copyrighted material on other coins and no one blinks an eye most of the time.

What if these are the same guys as BitSwift, out to rip people off with one more ICO?

I smell rat.

Was BitSwift not ICO at 8000 sats and now trading at 30000 sats, so which rip off people? Also how many logo's doesn't look the same?. Also not because the colors look the same that it is copyrighted...

My wallet doesn't sync. Could anybody give some nodes?

Node information is classified.

The launch countdown has started and mining pools have been setup, but these details are classified as well.
1560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep safe from Bearwhales! on: October 09, 2014, 09:58:47 AM
Something doesn't sound right.

I watched their demo video. Here's how they say the locking works "If you lock 1000 EUR worth of Bitcoins, you'll always have 1000 EUR worth of BTC, whether the price is 1000 EUR/BTC or 1 EUR/BTC."

BUT

What it doesn't tell is - what happens if 1 BTC is worth 2000 EUR in future. You will still have 1000 EUR worth of Bitcoins?

I THINK YES.

So if you believe in a bright future of BTC, you should NOT lock your BTC.
