Well played, Mr. forum admin, well played.  Grin

Hope feature stays around after April 1st!

And this is how theymos looks to me:

<img>

Not really.
To me he doesn't have any avatar. That avatar is being used by you, sgk.
Am I missing something?
Edit: Okay. So you are celebrating April fools day?

Someone said once: "If rape is inevitable, you may as well enjoy it!"

By the way, how did the upgrade go?

Planning to do it tonight.
Is there anything specific I need to keep in mind, or I just download the latest installer and run it?

705  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars re-enabled on: April 01, 2015, 11:55:23 AM
Theymos trolled everyone, avatars changing themselves. Login with an alternative account and see your original account  Cheesy

I can also confirm this.
I thought everyone's avatars were crap. I thought my avatar was cool, now I know how other people see me   Angry

707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Busted! Cops taking BTC! on: April 01, 2015, 08:43:22 AM
In all, the officer made several mistakes.

--> He leaked his real name in an unencrypted message on Silk Road
--> He connected his real identity on Bitcoin exchanges to the cash he was making illicitly
--> He used his official DEA laptop to login to his personal identity on Silk Road

I wonder how he could have neglected such serious issues, given the fact that he was investigating someone on Dark Web.  LOL.
If he had been more serious about these issues, there was no way for him to have been caught.
708  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars re-enabled on: April 01, 2015, 08:37:58 AM
It is now once again possible to upload an avatar to the forum.

Wonderful news, many thanks!
I had to try it out, I thought it may be just an April 1st joke.

I also thought it as an April Fool's joke at first, but then I tried it out and it worked perfectly. This is the first time ever I am able to set an avatar  Tongue

Too bad we can't have animated avatars, but hopefully we'll be able to do it in new forum.

Awesome! I just got one.

Avatars were disabled from the day I joined this forum and now I got the change of having one when I'm already a Hero Member Cheesy

711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do with my BTC? on: March 31, 2015, 12:41:55 PM
Hi Cheesy

Just received some BTC from my signature campaign.
What should I do with it?

Thanks

If you have good trading skills and you have time to do some research in alt coins (and of course if you are ready to lose your BTC just in case), you can try trading alt coins to multiply your BTC holdings.

If not, just put them in the cold storage and wait to see if Bitcoin gets momentum in future. With signature campaign I'm sure it will be a small amount and selling it at these low market price won't give you much.

HODL !!
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you prefer bitcoin, FIAT money or other? on: March 31, 2015, 12:38:23 PM
I would prefer a mix of both.

Though Bitcoin has its own strengths, it also has weaknesses which makes it NOT a tool for the regular Joe.

Until it gets user friendly and gains momentum, I would keep Fiat as my preferred method. Once we get to the point where crypto currencies become more secure and user-friendly for average user, I'll change my preferred medium to crypto. But then also it will be a mix, not 100% of any of the one.
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bytecoin website and roadmap release (including CryptoNote protocol updates) on: March 31, 2015, 12:34:13 PM
Nice to see a future road map with upcoming features. (A GUI wallet was very well due I believe)
Now it just remains to be seen how well and how fast these features are implemented.

Good luck!
714  Economy / Services / Re: Help me solve this problem on: March 31, 2015, 12:26:21 PM
--> Ditch the appointment idea altogether.
--> Let people directly come to the clinic when they want, put them on the list once they show up.
--> Once your current list reaches the daily limit (let's say 10 people) and you think you can't accommodate more, just put a "We're Closed" sign on front door.
--> Give people an option to call your receptionist in case they have doubts about whether you would be able to accommodated them in today's list

Appointments are for managing time slots efficiently. If people don't maintain their appointments, the whole idea diminishes.

Read an article once, author claimed up to 30% coins are lost forever.

Those 30% are not lost coins, but 'zombie' coins.

NVIDIA engineer John Ratcliff calculated in June 2014 that “zombie coins”, defined as those which have lay dormant for at least a year and a half, accounted for 30 per cent of all Bitcoins.
Those coins were bought for just a few cents, so the lack of profit-taking despite a return of 4,000 per cent seems to rule out the possibility that they're simply long-term savings.

For more detailed analysis of 'disappeared' Bitcoins (lost coins, zombie coins, satoshi's coins, burnt coins etc.), read the full article here:

I would like to delete (permban) my bitcointalk account, please.
If a mod could do so (if you need to message me, please do) I'd be grateful.

Thanks

I am hoping this is not a hacked account.

If you're truly posting from your own account and you want to get rid of it, it might be a good idea to just sell it for some BTC.
With a neutral trust Full Member account you can get around 0.3 BTC easily.
720  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: What ever happened to Multipool.us on: March 31, 2015, 05:19:10 AM
I'm just wondering why no one talks about multipool.us

It seems like they've just dropped off the face off the earth despite still having ~500Th on the network.

Not just multipool.us
Nobody talks about *any* altcoin multipools nowadays because they're not profitable any more.

Wafflepool, Clevermining etc. are all still functional but you hardly see any discussions going on other than their official ANN threads.
