681  Other / Off-topic / Re: BLAME VOD once a day to help reach our goal of 1,000 blames! on: April 06, 2015, 04:59:43 AM
I went an extra mile and used 3 different browsers on my work PC and 2 browsers on my home PC to blame VOD a total of 5 times.

If I don't get any reward for my hard work, I'll blame VOD for this! One. more. time.
682  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Website - Looking for beta testers on: April 06, 2015, 04:56:39 AM
I think you should review your site ponzi. It's really not good for invesment.

You also think about a opportunity cost if someone intented to invest into your site.
Not a ponzi.

Denying the fact a hundred times does not make it any more legit.

You can use a different name for whatever it is - you can call it
- Investor-based scheme
- Pyramid scheme
- Gambling
- <Insert your own definition here>

But in the end the fact remains same - old investors get paid from new investor's money.
IT IS A PONZI.

Dont expect honest answers from BTC shills. Transaction times are a big FAIL for BTC.

Most probably an alternative will takeover its marketcap in the future

Monero has a shorter confirmation time, but that still isn't enough.

We need a confirmation time on the order of seconds.

How can this be achieved without creating a ridiculously sized blockchain and overcoming the problem of orphan blocks?

InstantX?

DRK (Now DASH) and SpreadCoin?

Once we get 1,000 blamers then Vod has to shave his beard.

In full disclosure, I don't have a beard.   Undecided

Then you have to grow one and then shave it.

Instant transactions are already there in many alt coins. It remains to be seen if any of them really beats Bitcoin in market place.

And still any crypto is far better than fiat in terms of transmission times. Try international wire transfer,  it only takes 2-5 business days.

6/10

It is too literal for bitcoinshower, and the colors could use some improvement.

I feel both - good and bad that you had to release it for free.

You have done an outstanding job by creating such a high value project and then making it open source.
At the same time I feel bad for you; that French law did not allow you to monetise your hard work. I hope people using your code will donate generously to repay for your hard work.

Good job, mate!

how do I get pictures added on the left side under my username?

That is called 'avatar'. You get enable it from your profile settings.

But it only works for Full Members and above ranks. So you will need to wait a bit.
693  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I day trade my bitcoins with the minimum fees? on: April 03, 2015, 08:08:21 AM

So....  Asia Nexgen charghes NO FEES at all?

How do they plan to make money? Or is this a promotional period?

694  Economy / Digital goods / Backup Software Accepting Bitcoin Payments on: April 03, 2015, 07:23:18 AM
I was searching for a simple & lightweight backup program for Windows 8 that can easily backup my hard drive to a USB hard drive in UNCOMPRESSED format.

I have previously used demo versions of Norton and Acronis, but I like t have my backup in uncompressed form so that I don't need the native program to restore data when something bad happens - I can just copy-paste data using any other computer.

Also, they're very bulky and eat up resources.

Then I came across this simple but very intuitive program:
https://www.beiley.com/data_backup/register.html

However I'm not here for praising the features of the software. The reason i posted this is that fact that they're accepting payments in Bitcoin:

I don't know how many customer they have received that paid with Bitcoin, but I might be one of them  Smiley

Damn it I wanted to be special

I always identified you from your avatar, not user name. And I always will. So you ARE special.  Tongue

By the way, how did the upgrade go?

Planning to do it tonight.
Is there anything specific I need to keep in mind, or I just download the latest installer and run it?

That about sums it up unless you're migrating an older existing wallet into it.

OK, so I installed latest version 2.1
It installed itself in new folder called NEOS 2.1, leaving the old NEOS folder as it is.

If I want to transfer funds from old wallet to new one, what would be the best method? Exporting/Importing private keys?

Click "Stop Neos" on the launcher, copy wallet.dat from the old Neos install directory to the new one, click "Start Neos" - you should be good to go.  Let me know if not though and we'll take care of it. =)

     Best regards,

syntaks

Thanks, I was able to do it.

I know replacing the wallet file works with standard cryptos, I was just paranoid after reading all these new security features in version 2.1
I wasn't sure if it would allow me to replace old wallet with new version   Tongue
698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: April 02, 2015, 01:16:51 PM

Is this going to be the new Bytecoin logo?

Why is the "B" different and distorted from original logo? The proportion looks weird. The one in the original logo (posted in OP) looks OK.
