For AM's Gen3 tape-out happened around mid to late January 2014. Testing was done on March 28th/29th. So that was approx. 8-9 weeks from tape-out (which is very quick). I am not an expert in this field but others stated that this normally takes a minimum of 3 months.

EDIT: To avoid any misunderstandings: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tape-out

I think you should also mention when was the first miner running and when sales started (which was ~2 months after the first chip demo)

Guys,

When you got an order receipt from S-T emailed to you, did you get bank account details?
I received the receipt but haven't got any bank transfer info so I don't really know where I'm supposed to send money to.

(About future ob BTC and other crypto. I think BTCD can really surprise us soon)

Send them an e-mail at sales@

<lots of bullshit>

Why are you avoiding my question?

RS, what part of

The offer for refunds was made at the end of a long period of ~$100 price stability.  The spike to $1000+ was unexpected and unfortunately timed for those of us who had just used BTC to purchase ASIC pre-orders.

did you not understand?

Please state the actual number of months of "stability". Was it more than 5 months?

And RoadStress, if you really think that your lulzy infinite liability creating interpretation is anything but trolling, please give your money to the nearest lawyer so he can explain the facts of common law to you.  Ask about the "Equity For Dummies" tutorial.   Grin

It seems like you didn't get it. Let me repeat it

In the free and volatile market of bitcoin you don't start promising full BTC refunds just to get surprised by a sudden increase in exchange rate.

Blaming someone else or some outside event is always easier than being a man and taking responsibility for your facts!
1569  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: September 10, 2014, 04:58:10 AM
Even if they agreed with you, where was HF supposed to get the money to pay out 10x their orders, after spending millions to build an amazing chip and some less than amazing boards?  It was a start-up, not IBM.

In the free and volatile market of bitcoin you don't start promising full BTC refunds just to get surprised by a sudden increase in exchange rate. I think that HF should've taken everything into account before lying to get more money from customers. They should've taken into consideration both increase and decrease in value especially when with just 5-6 month before we saw an new ATH from ~33$ to $260.

Promising full BTC refunds was a straight lie from the start just to get more pre-order money and you and cypherdoc supported it!

The offer for refunds was made at the end of a long period of ~$100 price stability.  The spike to $1000+ was unexpected and unfortunately timed for those of us who had just used BTC to purchase ASIC pre-orders.  Sorry you didn't get the 'windfalls are not legally actionable claims' memo months ago, like the rest of us (who wish they were not).

Not sure if it's pure retardness or simply lies. You define as a long period in a free and volatile market a few months? The spike was unexpected despite hitting an ATH with just a few months before? ORLY? Please say more.
1570  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: September 09, 2014, 03:25:17 PM
I need proof. I need something tangible and solid. There's a lot of people here making a lot of claims, that sound really feasible, but I have no facts to print. Submit news tips to CCN with proof, and I'll print it. You want BA's bad side to be shown? Show it to me, with hard evidence. That's what I need to print a story.

What proof can people that haven't received a miner give you? There are plenty of proofs of miners catching fire and proofs of deleted forum posts available around here.
1571  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining for everyone on: September 08, 2014, 10:59:09 PM
BTW does anybody knows how many blocks have been found so far by solo.ckpool?
Zero

Will you add a counter or at least the last block solved (with or without address or partial address info) ?

1573  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Knc miners worth it? on: September 08, 2014, 01:45:53 AM
Looking into getting a knc miner neptune. Is the price good for its hashrate and are they reliable? Will they break down right after i buy them? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Are you too lazy to look in the official thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.0

I advise you to stay away from KnC. Don't take my word. Do your own research in the official thread starting from the latest posts.
1574  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 07, 2014, 11:21:42 PM
Yes, that seems reasonable. I also believe that the retail price is really close to $0.2/GH/s meanwhile. Gen 3 just didn't do the trick when it comes to selling it in major volume to customers. I do think that self mining will now turn the ship around!

Not at this difficulty and at this exchange rate.

This is not clear. I have contacted them and they told me that their price is ~175$/kW. It may go down with a bulk order, but it wasn't stated.

Domain was registered just a few months ago and only for 1 year. I can't find any information about them or their history and they haven't replied on their thread and I suspect them to be a shady business. I would advise people to double check them if they want to send some miners over there. This entry should have a warning sign until we get some more information/proofs of them being a real and trustworthy business.
1576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The FBI Finally Says How It ‘Legally’ Pinpointed Silk Road’s Server on: September 07, 2014, 10:45:30 PM
The war on drugs has ruined more lives than the drugs themselves.

This! Also the money spend on the war on drugs could've helped many in need! Let's not even get started on the private rights of the people. People should be allowed to do whatever they wish in their homes at least. As long as they don't interfere in a bad way with others then there shouldn't be a problem. Why not allow all the addicts to have their fun in their homes? If they don't go out on the streets to hurt/steal/damage/etc where is the problem? Oh wait, but the alcohol industry and the tobacco one will not make that much money...

Why would any CEO give sensitive/private company info to a competitors CEO who repeatedly spreads rumors on the forums? I'd trust a teenage girl with a secret more than Guy.
...
I could write a short novel full of nothing but Guy's BS quotes/competition trashing but it's not worth the time. You already know that Guy is constantly wrong about his "insider info" but you're willing to perform mental gymnastics to avoid acknowledging it.

Please, for the sake of everyone's intelligence, stop making baseless assumptions and spreading rumors.

Guy is a reasonable person and as I said before he will not build his reputation on lies and on fabricated rumors. I am sure that everyone that has met him or had an in-depth conversation with him can admit that he is just not that kind of person.

The price was updated on August 2nd.

I do remember it being $0.35 before that though.

How much do you think it's the production cost if they sold chips for that price?
