1561  Economy / Exchanges / OPNX Exchange, the comedy show continues on: March 20, 2023, 01:53:02 AM
This exchange was founded and created by Su Zhu, the owner of 3 Arrows Capital hehehe. The hedgefund that gambled with all their funds on GBTC and took too much leverage using their GBTC as collateral to different lenders.

I am not quite certain where the scam here is, however, I speculate that Su Zhu might be looking for exit liquidity for their own claims hehehe.

However, do you not reckon that in many occurences when the winner is a new account that has not yet passed all the KYC requirements, the casino should be very careful in giving a very big win without carefully checking all the details of the person?
It is always weird if a new user created an account and shortly later won very big. It looks like that user is an expert in gambling and do know how to make exploitation on the casino.

I am sure if a winner falls into such type, a casino will do seriously consider KYC request before processing withdrawal that should be big.

Quote
If it is an old account that has been gambling in the casino for years, there would certainly be a good argument.
That is true on all platforms. If you are a very old user and has very clean history, good reputation, it's a big support for your account and any accusation against you.

I am not accusing any person of cheating. I am only telling everyone that a sportsbook or a casino would begin doing standard background checks on the account and certainly if the account is new. If a casino is not strict, does not do any background checks and sends the money to the user right away without questions, I reckon the casino will be a target for scammers, moneylaunderers and cheaters. The casino might also become bankrupt in 2 years hehehe.
1563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 19, 2023, 05:57:27 AM

^ With the fight hype like this, they would really want a rematch and Golden Boy wants its space for it. I think no matter who wins they will have a rematch. And If I would read between the lines here. They will deliberately set the fight just enough to make it fun and exciting yet also disappointing to consider a rematch.

I reckon a rematch will only be negotiated if the lead promoter's fighter, the favorite Tank Davis loses through a knockout. Another possibility of a rematch no matter who wins, is if the fight is very exciting and both Tank, King Ry are shown to be equals in the ring, very much similar to Inoue vs. Donaire 1. However, if Ryan Garcia is knocked out, there will certainly not be a rematch.
1564  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ChipMixer.com has been seized. on: March 18, 2023, 12:30:39 AM
What will happened to those who use the mixer previously. Is there a chance that my Bitcoin will be connected by Bitcoin use from money laundering or we are still safe? I use Chipmixer every week to mix my coins. It’s sad to read this bad news.  Cry

Agreed. This is very much similar to how the government has arrested Tornado Cash's developer for creating a tool to protect someone's anonymity and privacy. I reckon if a car was used by a criminal to kidnap someone, the government cannot arrest the car company or if a cellphone was used as detonator for a car bomb that killed hundreds of people, the government cannot arrest the cellphone company.

And yet, in the case of Tornado Cash, hundreds of millions worth of different coins linked to the mixer in one way or another were frozen. This was generally a blanket move. This wasn't just done selectively to suspicious wallets and addresses. This included funds of innocent and unsuspecting Tornado Cash users.

However, the argument remains the same. The government does not have the right to arrest the creator of the knife if his creation was used to murder someone. The government should arrest the murderer. I am shaking my head why there are some people who argue that the arrest and detention is acceptable because it is not.

Well, views differ. Apparently, your view isn't shared by the government. It is unfortunate, however, that the government is the one that is more powerful than you. If you think that they don't have the right to do this and that, but they don't agree, they will prevail.

So whether you think the government does not have the right to arrest somebody who is just writing an open source code, Alexey Pertsev is in fact still in jail right now. Whether we believe that starting a marketplace is not a crime, Ross Ulbricht is actually rotting in jail until today. So while we all agree that providing the people the means to protect their privacy isn't a crime, this Nguyen could indeed end up in jail as well.

Agreed that we have different views and the government is more powerful. However, based on the argument, I am not implying to everyone that no one will get arrested. I am only saying that if someone developed a tool to use for privacy and it was used for criminality, it is not creator of the tool who should be liable. This very much similar to the arrest they did to developer of Tornado Cash.

Also, if the government tells you to stop using bitcoin because it is illegal according to their view, would sell all the bitcoins you have because of their power or will you fight for your right?
1565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 17, 2023, 04:48:48 AM
@BBC as wheelz stated the problem is there’s just not that much available out there to try and go get, and there’s definitely no one as close to as good as Rodgers available, even at 40.

David Montgomery signed by the Detroit Lions late last night.  As a Bears fan, Im actually really happy about this. I think he’s criminally overrated.  There’s a lot of solid RBs available right now and apparently the Bears are considering trading for Ekeler. He’d be a great upgrade but not sure if his contract would be reasonable.

The rpa action between fields and Ekler would be deadly.  I'm not big on large contracts for rbs but this one would make sense for the Bears.  Short passes and the run game for the Bears would be elite between those 2.  Good veteran presence in the locker room too.  Wonder what chargers would want back in a trade.

At this point I think there’s too many solid running backs on the free-agent market that you’ll be able to sign for much less than what you’d have to give up to the Chargers, plus what you’d have to spend signing him after trading for him, as you’re of course not going to spend capital to get him for him to only walk away 1-2 years later (not sure exactly what his current contract looks like).

Derrick Henry might also be available, and despite what most people think, he’s actually got a lot less wear and tear than many assume as he sat behind Murray for a few years so he was eased in to begin his career.

Damien Harris is available, would love for the Bears to swoop him up.

Derrick Henry might be the needed player for the Buffalo Bills to win the superbowl! It was speculated last year that they were asking for the Panthers about Christian McCaffrey and his availability after the Panthers fired Matt Rhule. This implies that they want a runningback who is better than Devin Singletary. Derrick Henry will certainly be this player.
1566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 17, 2023, 03:10:01 AM
PPV and obviously the live gates where the money will come in, and they are guarantee to have millions already. So yes this could be one of the biggest fights for the year and who knows, could be fight of the year if both of them left their hands go and fight till they take each other's head.

And the hype is already there, all they have to do is create more drama in their face-off, which they did already and that's why the tickets have been sold already. Only contention is the PPV numbers I guess and there are a lot of speculations on how much they will get either in US or worldwide, but I think it will still be big numbers.

If they sell out the arena, they will undoubtedly make a lot of money in ticket sales. Just imagine the price of those tickets

Quote
How much do tickets for Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia cost?
Tickets for Davis vs. Garcia start at $729, per TicketSmarter.

Prices then range from $800, $900, $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, $4,000, $5,000, $6,000, $8,000, $10,000, and $11,731.
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/boxing/news/gervonta-davis-vs-ryan-garcia-ticket-prices-las-vegas/h7dvl5lqvkxbzhtjmjb334lo

Only true boxing fans would be interested in attending the fight in person. While the ticket prices may be expensive, there will undoubtedly be people willing to pay the price to witness these two great boxers face off in the ring.

According to some articles, after the tickets were sold out, there were some buyers who wanted to by them for $29k. This is fight is very much hyped. I wish it will be a very good fight similar to what much of the experts have predicted.

Also, the promoters should rent Las Vegas Raiders' Allegiant stadium, have a big screen and let everyone pay $100 per person to watch the fight hehehe.

In any case, what Tank is telling everyone in this article might become a reality if he gets the victory. Similar storyline for King Ry, I reckon.

Gervonta Davis was at a bold mood this week at the press conference for his blockbuster fight with Ryan Garcia, claiming he has taken Canelo Alvarez’ spot as the biggest star in boxing.

Clearly buoyed by that feat, the Baltimore puncher told attending media that he believes he stands alone as the biggest name in the entire sport.

“I feel as though I’m already that guy in the sport. Canelo is going out the door, all these guys. I’m the face of boxing, let’s just say that.”

After this win, it’s just me getting over the hump. If you don’t watch boxing, this is the fight to watch – for sure.”

1567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [News]Signature Bank Collapsed, It Embraced Crypto Without Sufficient Safeguards on: March 17, 2023, 02:38:05 AM
It appears that Elizabeth Warren, the good senator of the Democratic party, has begun her storyline for this year. This will be to blame the cryptospace if the failure of Signature Bank will spread to other banks very much similar to the financial crisis that begun on 2007. She is presently not blaming the cryptospace directly, however, it would not be shocking if the banks will be given stricter regulations if they want to accept institutional clients from the cryptospace.

Senator Warren further alleged that Signature Bank took on “excessive risk” to boost its bottom line by serving crypto clients, such as the Nasdaq-listed crypto exchange Coinbase, blockchain infrastructure platform Paxos, and collapsed crypto exchange FTX. By December last year, crypto clients accounted for about 30% of Signature Bank’s total deposits. Warren stated:

Signature Bank bought into its get-rich-quick narrative … Signature Bank was caught short because it embraced crypto customers with insufficient safeguards.

According to Bloomberg, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) were already investigating Signature Bank’s work with cryptocurrency clients before regulators took possession of the bank last Sunday.

1569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 16, 2023, 03:11:06 AM
If he will manage to take this one away from the monster, it is surely a good start to move up and
challenge the current champ on his chosen division.

Actually, I want to see Stephen Fulton having a rematch with a much-improved Brandon Figueroa in the 126 after this match against Naoya Inoue. I'm sure Fulton won't bother to stay at 122 anymore regardless of the result of this match as that was already his original plan and it's just timing that Inoue decided to move up.

I also think Fulton is not considering having possibility of a unification match against his fellow title holder at 122 lbs, Murodjon Akhmadaliev which has a scheduled title defense against a Filipino, Marlon Tapales next month. He is surely want to moved up weight no matter what.

Can't wait to see the result of this match and how it will change the current phase of the Super Bantamweight division.

If Stephen Fulton loses against Naoya Inoue, it might not be good timing for him because Figueroa won recently vs. Mark Magsayo for the WBC featherweight interim championship. Fulton should win 1 fight in featherweight before he can argue for a challenge against Figueroa.

Has anyone created a thread for Murodjon Akhmadaliev vs. Marlon Tapales already? We should watch this next fight of Inoue's next opponent after Fulton hehehe.
1570  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚽🎮🎲 Coinplay.com | Brand New Crypto Sportsbook & Casino on: March 16, 2023, 02:29:41 AM
This is true, there are some casinos out there which when one of their gamblers obtains a big win they try to find even the smallest detail they can to try to refuse paying the money they owe, and one way to do this is by asking way more than what is needed for a standard identity verification, with the hope the gambler fails to provide the needed documents and then they save themselves a lot of money while still protecting their reputation, as they can later claim it was the gambler the one that failed to pass all their tests and they were justified on their refusal to pay them.

In such casinos, players simply will not play. All players play at the casino only in the hope of a big win, but if they know that they will not be able to withdraw their winnings anyway, they will not play at this casino. They will go to another casino.
If only things were that simple, what you are saying makes sense but unfortunately this is not the way things work, and we have a very obvious example with the 1xbit casino, this casino is widely regarded on this forum as one in which no gambler should ever play if they want to someday get some of their money back, but people ignore our warnings or are not aware of the existence of this forum and they keep gambling there despite their negative reputation.

However, do you not reckon that in many occurences when the winner is a new account that has not yet passed all the KYC requirements, the casino should be very careful in giving a very big win without carefully checking all the details of the person? If it is an old account that has been gambling in the casino for years, there would certainly be a good argument.

If CZ was indeed serious and genuinly wanted to protect his users he would put the whole 1 billion USD into bitcoin only and not spread it across two other altcoins.
And miss an opportunity to pump his centralized BNB coin? The fact that he even puts BNB in the same category as bitcoin is laughable. BNB is just as centralized and just as risky as BUSD.

I made a similar reply but only jokingly hehehe. However, my serious reply is I speculate that CZ might not pump the coins that he mentioned. I reckon it would be a more careful decision for him to wait when Bitcoin, Ethereum and Binance smartchain have gone down after a pump. He announced his intention already. If he pumps this, there will certainly be whales who will buy before him and dump on him.

@ChiBitCTy. The Jets might do better if they traded for someone else. Aaron Rodgers will be 40 years old and his performance were not very good much of the games I remember. However, if the Jets are not seaching for a quarterback that would bring them to the post season, Rodgers might be their quarterback hehe.

@DireWolfM14. However if the 49ers trade and have Lamar in their team, would you say that he can increase the odds for San Francisco to win a superbowl?
1574  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: March 15, 2023, 02:15:37 AM
@Rikafip. I reckon CZ might be holding much of this $1 billion in bitcoin because it has the most volume and also has much of the liquidity in the market. However, the skeptical me thinks that if he pumps bitcoin he cannot ignore his own Binance smartchain and because of this he might get criticism, so he needs also to include Ethereum in his list heheheheh.
1575  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin pump on March 12 on: March 15, 2023, 01:27:26 AM
Now I know the reason why it has increased in price. That's a lot, and you could've made money when it was down. That's the hard part of trading and knowing when to buy and sell. You will never know what could happen in the short term, especially in the long run. Who would've expected that it would go down and immediately rise again? That's just the volatility that we are experiencing.

There is a lot of money in the market, and imagine that $1bn is just a drop, like what?? That's a lot in some countries.

However, it is not only CZ's $1 billion entering the market. It appears like Paolo Ardiono has begun printing USDT again hehehe.

Tether minted $2 billion USDT in Ethereum and Tron.

It might only be a small drop for the market, however, this is bullish news that causes everyone to buy in excitement and pump bitcoin and other cryptocoins.
1576  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New York Attorney General Sues KuCoin on: March 15, 2023, 12:35:02 AM
It's not today's news, it was 2 days ago news, there was even a related discussion about it on this forum a day ago.
Still, I guess I missed the other thread and I'm kinda glad OP started up this one.

Wasn't NY supposed to be the new "crypto capitol" a while back?  There was somebody who was even going to rent an entire block and try to turn it into a bunch of bitcoin-related businesses.  Whatever their status is, the state's actions speak loud and clear that they're very much pro-regulation, and I'd say they're going too hard with this one.

Not surprising I guess, since NY was one of the first states to be on Binance's blacklist, and you can't even use instant exchanges like ShapeShift if your IP is from New York (are they even still around?).  I'm giving two middle fingers to the Empire State, and no offense to DaveF or anyone else who lives there who might be reading this.

It was only assumed to be the crypto capitol because everyone also speculated that what regulations the state of New York might create, the other states might follow. It did not occur as speculated, however. What really occurred was New York was only isolated from the cryptospace and it appears that the Biden administration also wants to isolate the whole country.

This is head shaking because much of the protocols that are being created in the cryptospace Defi category have the quality of avoiding regulations hehe.
1577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: March 14, 2023, 02:22:20 AM
I generally don't agree with Academy when it comes to Best Picture winners (looking back at the last ~15 years, the only time I actually agreed with them was Nomadland), this is the first time I disliked the winner so much I couldn't even finish it and probably won't even give it a 2nd chance. Kudos to Everything Everywhere All at Once though, not an easy feat to win 7 Oscars, especially not for movie with smaller production.

Biggest surprise for me was that The Banshees of Inisherin didn't win a single Oscar. While I knew that Colin Farrell beating Brendan Fraser is unlikely (even though i preferrede Colin's performance), I still hoped for at least for Best Original Screenplay but I guess since movie didn't have any woke bs, chances to win anything were slim to none.

Needless to say I failed miserably at betting because I went for those who I though should win, not for those who I thought would probably win. Cheesy

It appears the Oscars have been looking for movies with happy endings for 2 years. It might be because of the pandemic, the war in Ukraine and other negative news. However, I speculate that Russia's invasion of Ukraine will not be avoidable and the threat of a nuclear war will be the biggest storyline in mainstream news media. On account of this, my next bet for best picture for the next Oscar awards is Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan who will be my bet for best director. Hollywood will be on the nuclear war fear agenda hehehehee.
1578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 14, 2023, 01:46:11 AM
@ChiBitCTy. Aaron Rodgers will not go to the Las Vegas Raiders? I always speculated that Las Vegas would be his next team after the Raiders traded for Davante Adams. They might need that type of partnership to bring them to the post season.

Also, it appears Lamar trade to the 49ers speculation is growing. This does not imply that it will be an effortless negotiation, however.

Then you have Lamar Jackson. The Baltimore Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on the former NFL MVP, giving them the right to match any offer from an interested team.

Kawakami believes the 49ers are (or were) intrigued by the possibility. At the very least, they probably haven't dismissed the idea, and the writer doesn't believe they should.

"I checked around myself on Wednesday and was told that the 49ers are looking at everything, as always," Kawakami wrote.

He notes that the 49ers were not included in a list of organizations seemingly ruled out of a potential Jackson sweepstakes—teams like the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Washington Commanders, and Miami Dolphins.

Also, CZ should start asking for assistance from his backers from China.
Because you mentioned China here,is it possible that what Binance is experiencing is some government stretching it's invisible handle to try and send a message to its other counterpart... Something we have seen in the Huawei China trade war.

And of all exchanges why are other exchanges delisting Binance assets when they too have their utility tokens listed on other exchanges, and btw Coinbase isn't the first to do this either, there is a long list of exchanges delisting them.

I very much agree that there is someone who is sending CZ a message and it might be someone from the American government or from the American side of the cryptospace industry. It might be the backers of Sam Bankrupt-Fraud from the Democratic party hehe? CZ was the one who triggered the liquidity cascade for Alameda Research's loans backed by FTT as collateral and this also brought down FTX. Someone might want revenge against CZ hehehe.

Update as of March 13: CZ/Binance is buying $1 billion worth of crypto(BTC/ETH/BNB). Bullish news but $1 billion is technically just a drop in the bucket.

https://twitter.com/cz_binance/status/1635131601884700674

Agreed that this might only be a drop in a bucket. It might also be more safer for CZ to buy when they ha e went down already instead of being the cause of the beginning of the pump himself.

In any case, Jim Cramer again is telling everyone to sell their bitcoin hehehe. Everyone has noticed that bitcoin pumps everytime his advice tells us to dump. There are some people starting to joke in social media that the Inverse Cramer ETF is presently becoming a substitute for a bitcoin ETF heheheehhe.
