161  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to Buy Bitcoin Miners on: December 20, 2020, 02:32:14 AM
i amtrying to get rid of some miners, electricity issues...
anyway, if you like contact me via telegram: sotekerav
if i have something that you can use and the price is good for both of us, we can setup deal
It's better for both parties involved to discuss things on the forum. Often when a deal gets taken to other social media platforms it can get scammy. Feel free to talk price in private but I advise anyone doing the buying or selling to do so through a thread here for used equipment. Again use escrow.
162  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to Buy Bitcoin Miners on: December 20, 2020, 12:24:57 AM
Here is a thread with all the distributors. I've been slacking in updating the most efficient models each company is offering, but the companies the links still point to the official distributors.

Current List of Competitive Hardware - January 2020

Apart from that if you know what you are looking for, this board is for sales. You might find someone selling the gear used that you want/need. My only suggestion is use escrow, OgNasty above has handled this in trades for me before.
163  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 Betnomi.com - Crypto Centric 🏀Sportsbook and 🎲Casino - 🔥Biggest Jackpots on: December 19, 2020, 02:09:23 AM
Just letting everyone know that I'm no longer providing support for Betnomi on the forum.

There were no issues and I enjoyed my time providing customer support through the forum. Betnomi has decided to allocate their resources differently, focusing on providing support through their Telegram and Live Chat channels, which are now staffed and functional.

I thank Betnomi for the opportunity and wish them good luck.
164  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Canadian TFSA on: December 18, 2020, 05:31:31 AM
Canada doesn't trust crypto.  Banks and investment companies may touch it but only internally. so mined cyrpto isn't considered internal.

Thus my question how to get mined crypto in to a TFSA account without having it being declared capital gains?   Legal process is what I am looking for here.

moderators if im in the wrong thread can you just move it? thx
Hey I just answered your question in legal, and decided to see what else you had posted. This is a bit clearer, there is no way. You need to convert to FIAT, but there is no capital gains if you convert it immediately as you receive it. So essentially you want to cash out wherever you buy and sell, then put your FIAT into your TFSA with whatever bank you deal with. There are a few legit sites in Canada to sell your BTC, and some active members on the Currency exchange board but not many.

Best of luck
165  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Canada ONLY: Taxes and law on: December 18, 2020, 05:27:22 AM
I'm a bit lost on what you are looking for.

First mining rewards are treated the same as gambling at this point not as income. The BTC you hold is subject to capital gains or losses depending on when you convert it to FIAT. One thing to note these are still grey areas, and the BTC you've mined is still in Slushpools possession. So there is a decent chance you have no capital gains as of yet, as the BTC isn't in a wallet you control.

I am not aware of anything in Canada that is offering a way to avoid the capital gains. I haven't looked to much into the funds that have popped up this year, but they seem to be a FIAT investment wit BTC holdings or something along those lines.

Good luck finding what you are looking for
166  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Charity Funds on: December 18, 2020, 05:03:03 AM
Not sure I'm aware of the charity, but I'll give a general opinion.

Are you planning on distributing the funds at any time in the near future? If yes, then sure convert the funds right now. The problem with your plan to trade essentially is what if you miss the dip, the gains could be negligible, and/or if BTC continues to spike. I say this because you plan to maybe put the cash into a bank account.

It also kind of comes down to how the charity was presented when you accepted the BTC. Might actually have been better to just PM all donors to get their opinion.
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Please let me know about any online casinos or sportsbooks on: December 18, 2020, 04:53:33 AM
Here is a great place to look for a list of online casinos and sportsbooks. ⭐ BTCGOSU ⭐ Your Trusted Guide to the Best Bitcoin Casinos ⭐

Tons of reviews and links to the bonus's being offered. Apart from that you can literally just scroll through the Gambling boards and you will see the sites that are active here, and the promotions they are running.
168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The best platform to use for buy and sell crypto on: December 18, 2020, 01:37:22 AM
Hard to say, this might be better suited in Service Discussion for a thread as you are looking to provide a service.

It's not going to be difficult as you are doing this realtime. Key here is you need to know what it would cost them in fees to buy it from another location. My suggestion is to Find out what that is and charge them 60%. Binance seems fine for this, especially if you are already there and trading. Your only problem depending on how much they buy from you would be making sure you top up your USDT account on Binance regularly.

I can't remember what the fee is to withdraw from binance, but make sure you keep that in mind.

It all comes down to knowing what it would have cost them to do it through another provider, and you just have to be cheaper.
169  Other / Meta / Re: Do we not nuke - Brand New PM spammers?? on: December 16, 2020, 07:28:56 AM
Any reason why a nuked users PM's don't automatically get erased in the same manner as their posts would?
I can think of several reasons:
  • Unlike posts, you can delete a PM by yourself
  • You may still want to keep the PM because you made a trade with the user
  • You've already reported the PM so you won't fall for any scam they're trying to pull
  • I don't think Admin wants to decide on personal messages.
Yeah not really a "personal" concern, more of an in general.

- If I report a PM spammer(possible scam) me deleting it doesn't help anyone else who received the PM and might fall for it
- Nuked users are brand new - So the chances of a trade and/or useful PM are lower than low
- I won't fall for it, but point one covers it
- I agree on most PM's, but again I'm only talking brand new nukeable accounts,

It just seems a weird blindspot when the term is nuked.
170  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Adkinsbet scammed me 66.3mbt on: December 16, 2020, 03:15:35 AM
~snip~
Glad we could get this resolved. If you want you can lock the topic after you confirm the receipt of payment as you said. This can be done from the bottom left of the screen below the topic posts.

@AdkinsBET, I will suggest adding some clause in your terms and conditions just to make things very clear that if a client verbally abuse or spread abusing words against your brand then the consequence could be freezing their account without any payout or such things. I have never seen such terms but since this whole thread was about this, I think it should have a clause in your terms. It will avoid future incidence like this.
I have to disagree. I suggest they perform some training within their organization regarding customer retention, and situation de-escalation. This could have all been solved by a simple

"Sorry for the inconvenience caused while we investigated your account. This is necessary for us to provide a safe and fun platform for all. We have sent your final payment request."

"We understand this situation was frustrating, but we kindly ask that you remove your negative and disparaging comments against our business. Failure to do so will result in you no longer being able to deposit or play on our platform. Hope to see you back."

Either way they can run their business as they see fit; I just feel this was unnecessary.

Good luck to all parties involved.
171  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: (Alert) Bitcoin.com Promote Scam Website Link ON Their Blog on: December 15, 2020, 11:06:46 AM
Steamtyme, far from it that I think you are BCH shill, but we all know who Roger Ver is and what has been going on for years on the site he owns, so it is therefore strange to me that someone in any way presents him as an honest person in any sense. If you look at his trust it is clear what this community thinks of him, so $10 and a response to PM is not something that can just erase all the bad things he has done and still does to all those who are with Bitcoin.

However, I find it positive that you want to pass on the reward to the OP - that means a lot more than what he did.
Clears it up. I was simply presenting what came my way. If I wasn't so against sharing anything from within a PM, I'm sure you'd get a laugh about the small message that was within. You could probably guess what it was.

Either way, yes his tactics haven't and will not change. I actually told a co-worker who is taking the crypto plunge soon, the tale of roger and his site.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
172  Other / Meta / Re: Local rules enforcement policy. on: December 15, 2020, 10:24:47 AM
It's not explicitly stated, but I never see a rule excluding a specific user from posting in a tread on meta being enforced. The main reason being that meta is the public discussion board for forum issues, probably the same reason that you can't self moderate on meta I guess.

much to be done apart from ignoring and moving on then.
173  Other / Meta / Re: Local rules enforcement policy. on: December 15, 2020, 10:09:44 AM
I don't think they enforce local rules that simply state X user can't post here. They are a funny rule every time I see it.

In the future just make your threads self moderated, and do the job yourself. That way you don't have to worry about it. There is no fear really of being accused of hiding anything as there is now a counter at the top of self mod threads showing how many replies have been deleted, and LoyceV scrapes the forum data for unedited posts.

Self-mod rules are more for no price chat or to keep a narrow focus on a certain topic for discussion.
174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: just sent money to an electrum wallet that i made says watch-only how do i get? on: December 15, 2020, 05:53:48 AM
Here is a link to the electrum documentation that discusses the watch only wallet it's use case and how it gets created. So the images should look familiar to you for how you got here. https://electrum.readthedocs.io/en/latest/coldstorage.html?highlight=usb#create-a-watching-only-version-of-your-wallet

Upgrade00 has probably given you the easiest option. If you have your seed phrase from when you initially created the wallet, then you can just start over and create a new wallet and restore from seed. Just google "restore from seed" and you will find a ton of guides and pick which one works best for you. It's dead simple but can be a bit nerve racking your first time around.

175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blocked funds in a poker room on: December 15, 2020, 05:07:12 AM
~snip~
Shitty deal. Glad to see at a minimum they are goin with industry standard and offering you back your deposit.

Not going to lie but your best option for getting some attention on this or at least a more well rounded community opinion would be to post on twoplustwo or something like that. This forum has absolutely no power or influence over bodog, to attempt to find a better resolution for you.

Personally unless there is anything that states taking the payout for your deposit absolves them of all legal claims against your confiscated funds I would take the money now, and then continue to fight through a lawyer. This of course only works if you are, and never were in violation of their ToS in respect to playing from a certain location.

Best of luck.
176  Other / Meta / Re: Do we not nuke - Brand New PM spammers?? on: December 15, 2020, 04:43:05 AM
Looks like no. I think the user was not just banned. Its nuked.
Okay well that answers one of my questions. Any reason why a nuked users PM's don't automatically get erased in the same manner as their posts would?

Consider disable option "Allow newbies to send you PMs." on your profile option (you can find it by click "Profile", then "Personal Message Options").
I can not remember if I got such PM from the specific users but I can recall I have received many spams in my PM and all the time I ignored them. Their style says it all so ignoring the PMs are easy. But I realize now that a report will make it better.
I actually don't mind if newbies PM me, I do still get the odd one from time to time seeking mining advice. I rarely get anything annoying. This spam I don't mind as I can then at least report it, and I don't get these often enough for them to be a problem. This instance just seemed weird to me, like it might have been an oversight or something.
177  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Adkinsbet scammed me 66.3mbt on: December 13, 2020, 09:57:55 PM
As for the user spyrosc200: We found evidence that this user might be involved in this professional gambler group. However, because we only want to make a judgment after sufficient evidence, we have taken the necessary time to investigate this.
We informed spyrosc200 a few days ago that his bets and account were valid, and we can confirm that he has nothing to do with the group of scammers.

We are a new bookmaker, right now we are behind our decision. We are of course open to solving this, if it turns out that our decision was not the correct one.
We do not tolerate false accusations from users, as this can cause serious image damage.

If experienced users or DT users have a different opinion than our current decisions, then we are certainly open to this and will also pay the user in question (under certain conditions).
I think everyone would agree that the moment you inflict serious image damage on a site, there are consequences.
Spyros is welcome to engage a mediator, and if we prove wrong, we will be happy to pay this 66.3 mBTC
You've said it yourself, the user did not violate your terms or cheat on your site. Obviously you should pay the player their money.

I'm not excusing spyrosc200's behavior, they are abrassive insulting and clearly looking to fight and argue in that manner. Is it justified, to some extent yes, in my opinion. They have been investigated (which there is no problem) they complied, then they were strung along and finally cleared of wrong doing but were still punished through confiscated funds.

This is not the way to make a name for your new business. It looks unprofessional to confiscate winning bets because the "cleared of wrongdoing" user became upset and belligerent after the fact and drew public attention to the fact. I have no problem with you closing their account and not doing business with them in the future; that is reasonable and well within your rights as a business. This should be done after you pay out the balance.
178  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betnomi Poker Series $1000 (OPEN to ALL) on: December 13, 2020, 09:09:12 PM
That must have been a fun day for the winner. How is the distribution usually with such tournaments? If it says $ 1000 some people might assume it's $ 1000 for the winner?
It is all broken down in the OP. Including the prizepool distribution for the series finale. Daily prizepool is dependant on entries that day, following a standard prizepool distribution.
179  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betnomi Poker Series $1000 (OPEN to ALL) on: December 13, 2020, 08:39:52 PM
Congrats the the winners and those itm, I couldn't make the series today.
Free and clear for next weekend, hopefully some of you luck boxes will have shaken out all your quads, 2 outers and all other bags of tricks.  Wink

I'll keep mentioning it weekly in the Betnomi thread on Fridays, to try and peak more interest
180  Other / Meta / Do we not nuke - Brand New PM spammers?? on: December 13, 2020, 08:32:29 PM
Title says it all really. I received the PM in question on December 6th, it was a spammy fake Gunbot PM with a promo code. Similar to what is discussed in the link, same code anyways.

I reported the PM, and left it in my inbox, as sort of a reminder/notification. I rarely report PM's so I'm fuzzy here, on whether or not a nuked accounts PM's even get deleted in the same fashion as their posts would.

Even more confusing to me is, how the account is still alive and kicking today, sanjogita123

I don't know if there is a better way to prevent the spamming, apart from maybe not allowing Brand New no post accounts the ability to PM users apart from Admins.
