You have 2 threads running for your bounty management services. Pick the one you like best, and lock the other is my suggestion. I haven't reported them as I feel you should decide which one stays.

Here is the link to the other one. - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4772085.0
1162  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie welcome video on: October 20, 2019, 03:13:55 AM
~snip~
 - Customizing topics: I do not expect learning how to create an account is difficult but the basic skills to define boards, how to do make a search, and improve the quality of posts.
 - Define the rules better: Perhaps the rules are one of the things that need to be explained (with some fun.)
I appreciate and welcome the criticisms. I wanted to include account creation just to start forum life right from the beginning. I am currently reviewing it to figure out what parts I can easily remove from that section without feeling like there are gaps in what I provide. I do plan on having a video specifically for the rules. This one was more to show people where they were, and most of my videos will likely contain a bit more humor than this one. I have to be careful to still keep it informative at the same time. Likely, it will be Noddabawt posting and breaking the majority of the rules - nothing to crazy but laughable non the less.

That's a great idea. You could probably also cut out the bit about why you should make an account. If someone is clicking on a video titled "Creating an account", you can probably assume they are going to anyway.
My thoughts on this were that should these be utilized in anyway, this video may have been something a lurker would see somewhere around News. I will still take this into consideration and at least try to trim it.

Recommendations would probably be instead of the forum itself put up let's say drawings I guess? You could also try a bullet type of important things to note when discussing each thread I suppose?
That may fall further outside of my skills lol. I did choose to use the actual forum and demonstrate the navigating in real time, as I've always found this to be a decent way to train people. Sometimes things get lost in the mix when you try using infographics or images as opposed to a direct example. I like the bullet points idea and think that might be easily done in the editing portion of the program I'm using, it's nothing crazy but offers basic features that are fairly easy to use. Appreciate the input.

For some Internet forum I just registered on, there's no way I'd spend >10 minutes staring at a screen. But maybe that's me, I don't mind reading stickies and whatnots if I register somewhere.
I think people see this forum somewhat different from many others, mostly because you can monetize yourself here fairly easily with some effort. I do still feel I ran long and will be trying to figure out the best way to break this and others into smaller videos that still contain enough relevant information. Might wind up being 4X as many videos as I originally thought. You would definitely be in the minority unfortunately I do wish more people would read stickies, but I was bad myself as it took me a while to do most of these things. Hell I remember getting a referral link deleted super early on and it was only then did I find the rules I believe.

Great video! It really makes me feel that I haven't done enough to make the newbie experience welcoming enough...
Thank you, that means a lot. It's easy for me to come in here and put something like this together. I don't have the entire forum and varying levels of accounts to think about when I make a decision or put out content. You have done a lot to ensure that when a Newbie shows up they have the ability to participate, with minimal restrictions. That's a huge step in welcoming them, I'm just trying to fill in some gaps in the meantime.
I am open to you providing any ideas or submissions you would like to see done as a video. I know you tend to choose your wording carefully so if there are any descriptions or points you would like to see made as well I'm all ears.

So far ideas I have for videos include the following:
Posting - This will have a portion on the use of the buttons and their functions. It will also include a section on posting techniques related to the quote function like trimming, and replying to multiple people. Nothing hard and fast but enough to tackle nested quotes. Might include a brief description of merit here, or in a mini offshoot video as it's not a large topic but is still important.
The Forum rules- A more in-depth review and examples of how not to break them.
Account recovery - Staking an address, and how to sign/verify a message.  ~ I need to do a bit more research on the account recovery side of things, so it may be a 2 parter where I stake an address then lose my password and actually go through the steps.
The trust System -  This will attempt to clarify things like the DT network, Custom Trust Lists, the difference between feedback and trust lists. This will be a few videos in itself and likely come after the others mentioned.

I don't really have an order yet that I would like to create them in but would like to tackle them in blocks if multiple videos relate to the same core subject. I am also going to try and keep these lacking opinion and as neutral as I can be. It is also a goal to just guide users so that they still have to do at least a bit of reading, but know where to look.

Edit: Forgot to mention. In regards to this video I think I will recreate it, with some cuts to content I can put elsewhere. Should be sometime this week, and hopefully I'll get it down to somewhere in the 5-7 minute range with timestamps.
1163  Other / Meta / Re: Ban evasion: falseflagger (alt of humanrightsfoundation) on: October 20, 2019, 01:35:30 AM
I interacted with them last night, I couldn't get them to openly admit to being the Alt, seemed pretty clear. I did just report to moderator, as I assumed it would get to the right people who could verify it. Seeing the post from theymos about the VPN and whatnot, I guess it would be a tough call. Probably easy enough to just ignore anyone who comes here defending Humanrightsfoundation, because no one else in their right mind would. Won't be falling for that again.
1164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another newb post, if you don't ask you don't get, HI! on: October 20, 2019, 01:28:46 AM
Here is a thread I created to help people new to mining. Gives you some things to think about before taking the plunge. If you are considering BTC another consideration is the halving expected this coming March?? maybe May I should really look into that. It really applies to any crypto. You can also check those boards out for more BTC mining info, otherwise you can look around in Altcoin mining for questions about other coins.
First time/Small miner reference for getting started.

The decision always comes down to what you think will be best at the moment, personally I lean a little more towards buying and holding right now. Unless you have extremely low cost electricity and can source older less efficient gear for a real good price. The noise and heat can be a lot to deal with especially in an apartment setting. I heat my home in the winter but that is in my basement, and at times can still be loud if I don't take the proper steps to dampen sound.
1165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unable to send BTC - Incorrect Password on: October 20, 2019, 01:15:47 AM
The wallet is electrum.
I still have been unable to resolve the issue.
The password was never changed by me. I have no idea why all of a sudden it won't accept my password to send the funds.
I can't find my Seed. I know it's written down in a Moleskin somewhere, but I just can't find it. So I can't use my Seed to reset the password.
Wait shouldn't you have had to input your password to open electrum before you wen tot send the funds? Then it asks for the password again once you try to make a transaction. I learned something new today about being able to use the seed to recover a wallet you have forgotten the password to. Looks like that's the only option you have is to find it, if you are absolutely sure you didn't do something like hit Caps Lock accidentally, I've been there over-reaching on the a's.
Good luck.

Edit: Forgot to mention as well. Are you sure you are using the most recent version of Electrum? Can't remember what the messages look like, but I hadn't used my wallet in a while other than to sign and verify messages. Then realized I was out of date, when I went to use some funds. I know it didn't say wrong password, but I was confused non the less.

1167  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / 50 million from investors to create a massive mining farm in Texas on: October 19, 2019, 08:48:27 AM
So I had this Layer1 story pop up in my feed the other day and it just sounds overly ambitious. I think the article mixed in their future(likely unattainable) goals with their short term goals of becoming a large US based mining company using renewable energy(Wind and Solar). All the stories have conflicting information, but the linked article appears to show they have at least 100 MW at their disposal via the transformers in the image. They talk about purchasing power from Solar and wind farms, and developing new technology to cool miners in Texas.
The weirder parts about this are that when they launched in 2018, there was no plan for mining disclosed, and that they are planning in the future to become a chip manufacturer, "to control all aspects of their operation". I don't think there is anything in it for US based miners from what I can tell. No talks of hosting or selling hardware if they did become a chip manufacturer, nothing apart from attempting to move a larger percentage of the Network hashrate out of China.
Personally I can see them getting a facility up, but beyond that it's a hard sell.

1168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Misconceptions about Bitcoin and Altcoins on: October 19, 2019, 08:22:00 AM
That's exactly the type of post I was thinking about. It's something I'm still pretty bad at, it's like 2 steps forward one step back usually. Then there's the times I just need to send something off quick and it all goes out the window. I still generally only deal with rather small amounts, but at least I'm aware of the mistakes I'm making along the way now.
1169  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie Welcome video on: October 19, 2019, 07:02:04 AM
Thanks again for the kind words, they are greatly appreciated. It's funny the more I watch it I keep finding small issues in the editing I previously didn't notice. Not the worst of things but they bother me a little more with each viewing. I do believe the next time I make one I will shoot for a 1 shot take or work on my pauses to better edit in other audio. I was more concerned with it looking choppy using the cutting sections, but now think that would have been a better route.

First, I think it's too long overall. ~
Secondly, I think you spend too much time talking about the marketplace and trust for what is an introductory video. ~
Thank you for the critiques. For whatever reason I was determined to have the first post in the video. If anything I feel I should have just left it out, and use it as section in another video. I was planning on originally trying to limit this to a 5-7 minute video but just felt like I was missing something. It doesn't help that I freewheel every speech or presentation I've ever made and like to talk.
I couldn't settle on a good board as a target, and this is where freewheeling brought me. I actually cut out and had to catch myself again on a large portion of "trust". It really could have been any board/childboard combo, but I just kept thinking of Sandy-is-fine and others discussing lurkers falling for scams in that area and just ran with it. That was before the warning flags for unregistered users.

What I will do though as I know people who can't focus on a 2 minute video sadly enough is create some timestamp links and put those in the description.
1170  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] CRYPTO COSMOS: Cryptocurrency Deck Of Cards LIMITED # - unique crypto game on: October 19, 2019, 03:48:22 AM
Free bump for these. I recently brought my deck out to a meetup and did generate a bit of interest. Hopefully get a few more out there, as a few people really liked the design and idea behind it. Might even get a chance to play my first round in 4 weeks, when I go back in for another meetup.
1171  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie Welcome video on: October 18, 2019, 11:47:25 PM
Thanks for the feedback. The length was something I struggled with as I wanted it to be an easy watch but not lacking to much introductory info.
I have an idea for another video that covers some posting pitfalls, unfortunately it's sort of opinion based. I think that would be a nice one to cover rules more in depth. My hope though is that people will still go to the threads and read through them.
I didn't think about a poll or anything but if enough people voice their support or opposition if this, I'm sure theymos would take notice.
Edit: I went back and changed the title to include Bitcointalk.org; might help with the search not sure. I also linked in this topic and others referenced.
1172  Other / Meta / Newbie welcome video - 3 videos complete on: October 18, 2019, 10:06:01 PM
So I've considered doing this for a while, the hold back was I have next to no experience in creating this sort of content. Either way I decided to just run with it and put together my first of several planned videos. This one is titled Creating an account and getting started

Let me know what you think this was the first time I've used screen capture, and the editing was definitely a learning experience. Love it hate it, anything in between I'm interested in your feedback. I'm also looking for things I may have missed or topics for future videos, as I'm sure I haven't thought of them all. I do mention some planned ones in the video as well.

Edit: So Noddabawts first topic was deleted. Not surprising as was useless in it's current form, at least they weren't nuked. I wasn't able to link it in on the project before work this evening, but they will be making a much better first post second time around in another video.

Hre is the thread that contains all finished videos.

Hey Spazzer,
Just finished up at my second somewhat local meetup and it turns out there are a few Cardano fans there. Funnily enough most of them don't have anything to do with forums. I can't guarantee they'll take it but I'll link them to this thread and let you know what, if anything they reply.
1176  Other / Meta / Re: 3 Years Ago I Lost 5 BTCs from a Scam Sent From BitcoinTalk.org Official Email on: October 17, 2019, 07:39:34 PM
And you just got paid how much?  To post what a dozen others have posted.
~I now count more then 65 paid posts to this thread.~
Instead of engaging them to reply here and potentially earning more you can report the post - Call it redundant and repetitive, state it adds nothing to the conversation. Check their history if that's all they do go to Yahoo62278's thread and report them. Maybe they get removed maybe not.
For the paid posts here this thread started off in Bitcoin Discussion, so it's easy to see how it got hit so much.

basically  I am the only one giving the op some hope of restitution of his lost coins.  Even spending some of my own money to give him a chance at restittuion.
Let me make myself clear I don't think the op told the truth.
But what I really don't like is people posting and getting paid to dump on him.
I would give him the real worth with a limit of 9400 since coins were under 2000 the first few months of 2017 and he said early 2017.
Not going to lie I don't see the logic in attempting and committing to providing someone with restitution when you don't believe their story. If you think Sig Spam is bad, I'd hate to see the ensuing flood of "scammed" users showing up here, if you did hit a block. I've seen you offer this before and admire trying to help someone out, it just seems like a slippery slope when the story and "proof" are easily fabricated.

I'm not going to repeat what's been said numerous times, I've watched this thread since it began and my reply wasn't necessary then. Now that OP has added the imgur image, I have questions.
-This is what triggered you to create the topic, but the image clearly shows that it was 2014 so I'm unsure how you landed on 2017 in the first place
- Looking over the pricing there is no way to arrive at 5 BTC. You either bought 2  ads for 4 months at 4.8, or 1 add for 7 months for 4.9?
- Would have been awesome if you would have saved any of the other emails like the reply from 2 weeks later.

Either way. Knowing now that it was 2014, this wasn't cheap but it was far less expensive than many. Like anyone who has ever been hacked or scammed this was a lesson often learned in crypto. You are responsible for your coins and verifying who you send to. So if you are really looking for an apology or validation PM theymos the Admin.

1178  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What do the larger farms know that I can't figure out? on: October 17, 2019, 07:05:46 PM
Yeah finding an M10 is like a unicorn at the moment. They were a fairly short run of gear and they sold right out of them before launching the next gen as far as I could tell. When I bought my M20S I was actually hoping to pick up 2 or 3 M10's instead.

I think the power swapping thing is a very limited opportunity. Anyone really wanting to take part in that should more or less undercut and hope for 200 USD. There are so many pallets of used S9's just sitting out there waiting. Then the more you sell the less people need them. Not always the best but people can at least get some cash back on the gear, which is like a coupon for the upgrade. Every day this deal becomes less and less likely, as you are really trying to sell to people in the same boat as yourself power cost-wise.

BPIP is ready to help in any way it can.
For a point of clarity. The quoted statement is not a lie if we are to believe numerous posts you have made on the subject. That being said I don't see how that excludes BPIP from being an accurate  source of statistics on forum users.
