It doesn't matter the plan only that ypu have a plan to walk away.  If you are gambling to win money and not just for entertainment than you need to have a get up and walk away plan, both on the losing and winning side.  Far too often people go and just try to win as much money as they can.  In the end as long as you play long enough the house will always win since the odds are in theor favor.  Kudos to you for having a get away plan.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: April 11, 2024, 08:51:21 PM
People hide it for obvious reasons.  Either 1 they aren't supposed to be gambling.  Say a family man is gambling away his families money they love on, of course they don't want you to see or to know.  But then second and probably more important if it's a private game and not online or a brick and mortar bet house they probably don't want to get revved.  Those types of robberies are common since they know cash and possibly lots of it will be available.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is alt season likely to be? on: April 10, 2024, 10:49:37 PM
I am currently 100% in altcoins and wondering when we can expect the next big alt season?

I plan to hold all my altcoins till this alt season when alt coins are performing better than Bitcoin and then start putting profits into Bitcoin.

I don't know if going 100% into altcoins is the right thing to do if you want to end up in bitcoin anyway.  Don't kid yourself amd think all altcoins outperform bitcoin during bull season.  I can show you tons of examples of coins that have actually dropped or stayed the same during bull runs.  And in a lot of cases coins do exactly what bitcoin does so why even risk it?
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: April 10, 2024, 10:45:24 PM
Brutal week for me I just can't catch a break here.  Gonna stick with it cant lose them all right?!?

1) Lakers at home-4.5. At this point in the season playoff lebron shoukd be warming up.  I like the Lakers at home here tonight.
2)Grizzlies +12.5 at home.  Gut says bet sixers but just seems like too high of a spread.  Give me the home team with double digit points.
3) Pistons +9.5. On the road but I don't think the Nets are that much better than them.  I expect the Nets to win but under 10 point win.

Good luck everyone and enjoy the games.

Just brutal, Nets ended the last 5 minutes on a 19-0 run to cover by a half a freaking point.  Worst ending to a betting game I've had in awhile.  Think I got a lock tonight.  Big money on Timberwolves-1.5 yeah on the road against the Lakers but Bron is out and Davis is a game time decision.  I think the Lakers are punting this game wouldn't be surprised if they sit Davis too if they get down double digits early.  Tossing the house on this one game tonight.  If I win this one game it covers all my posses this week.  Yep chasing the loss here but it's as good as game to bet than I've seen in awhile.  Wish me luck!

I hate chasing losses but this time it worked out, that was a huge win last night.  Alright back to normal bets and 3 games.  Here is tonight's go:

Suns -3.5.  This should be a great game but I like Suns when they play at home.
Okc -3.5 at home.  Again great game but give me the home team here.
Knicks -3.5. Revenge game and with the last couple games ahead they push for the 3 seed.

3.5 is the magic nu.ber all the way around!  Good luck tonight everyone.

Finally on the right side of the books.  Suns ate it but I think tonight is a different story.

Gonna ride with 3 games tonight

Denver at home -6.5.  Think Denver starts leaning into their competition.  Gonna be a good game gimme the home team.
Suns -11.5 yeah I know they just lost but Clippers are sitting everyone here.  Suns NEED to win and think they lay into the clips tonight.
Rapters +12 against the Nets.  The Nets are out of the playoffs.  No incentive think this one stays at single digits.

Enjoy the games people!
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 10, 2024, 10:39:59 PM
Yes, the West are still very hotly contested and when we thought that a Lakers vs Warriors showdown could be happening, there are still some scenarios that will happen that will not make that event happen. So everyone should really try to win all the games remaining, and this could be the first season that we really appreciate what a play-in should be, teams fighting it out till the last game of the season. Only 1 games are separating this team, so most likely a 2 game winning streak will not be as bad. I know that you are a Warriors fans, and so it's good to see them back, the Klay and Curry hitting those 3's just like during their primes.

There’s a high chance that Lakers will be the opponent of GSW on the play in tournament since Kings has 3 remaining matches which is very manageable for them to win while Lakers have a scheduled match against Pelcs which is in need to win to secure their top 6 position while they have a very close standing before during their previous matches.

I don’t want to see Lakers vs GSW on playin tournament but it seems that it’s destined to happened given how the remaining matches of teams 6th to 10th are all manageable to all of them which means they will just stay on their current position.

All the remaining games are important for those who are in the 6-10 spot, they need to secure the wins to maintain their position else, though like what you just said it seems that Lakers and GSW will be competing with each other again in the playin tournament, to have that opportunity to continue their campaign for the next round, both are capable upsetting whoever is on the top position they just need to win at the time and keep that pressure to really play well.

Even for all the other spots too.  I mean obviously for 6-10 because it determines one and done games but take the Knicks, orlando and Cleveland.  Between the 3-5 spots in the east.  You can go from home series with a possible second round vs bucks and not Boston to away series and a 2nd round matchup against Boston with a win by one team and a loss by another.  This time of year is great basketball.

166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how do you think meme coinis? on: April 09, 2024, 10:31:30 PM
I often see meme coins on various platforms, do they really have potential? I’m not sure about their advantages, can you guys help me explain them?

They are rediculous pump toys that people use to trade for more bitcoin or eth.  Pretty much every single one of them is useless and won't be around long after the initial pumps.  Yeah people make some money but what people won't tell you is how much they lose on the way down.  If you don't know how to trade I would stick to buying and holding bitcoin.
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 09, 2024, 10:24:36 PM
With 3 games remaining this season, in order for the Lakers to get at least the 8th seed, they must win those 3 remaining games, and either of the three, the Kings, Pelicans, or Suns, need to lose twice so the Lakers would secure the 8th seed. Lakers' remaining games are GSW, MEM, and NOP. Lakers arguably can win these 3 games. While those three teams have these games left,.

Suns: LAC, LAC, SAC, MIN
Sac: OKC, NOP, PHX, POR
Pelicans: POR, SAC, GSW, LAL

Looking at this, all three teams can possibly have a record of 2-2 to end this season, and with that, it can really help the Lakers a lot to go up in the standings. Let's just hope the Lakers do their part and win those three games they have.

Does it really matter where the Lakers finish in the standings right now? I mean, if we assume that the Leakers will have no problems with their play-in tournament opponents, then their first-round playoff opponents will be either the Wolves or the Nuggets. In other words, the first round of the playoffs will be very difficult for the Lakers regardless of whether they finish the season in 9th or 8th, 7th spot in the standings.

It definitely makes a difference.  7th and 9th place is a huge difference.  9th you have to play 2 one and done games with the second one being on the road.  7th place you get a home game and if you lose you get another home game to still get in.  It all leads to the same road in either one of the top teams as a road series but to get there it makes a difference.
168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celebrity Poker Games: Publicity Stunt or Genuine Passion? on: April 09, 2024, 10:17:52 PM
Poker got popular once they started televising it.  Believe it or not a lot of these celebrities play high stakes poker with other pros, some of them are very good.  It's a common game at this point so I feel like most of these people really enjoy the game and got asked to play so why wouldn't they.  And the publicity is a good after effect.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Story of my life on: April 08, 2024, 11:52:05 PM
Have you ever noticed or am I the only one?

The more active I become with gambling, the more it drags me back, luckily I keep risking only what I want to lose.

The less active I become with gambling, the more positive it gets for me, not most of the time but my results are simply better than when I was very active.

It's like the casinos are wired to mess with the most active gamblers. I don't know, so far I can only find someone who has seen such before.

A friend who lives far away from me has also said the same, he got tired of gambling because it wasn't going his way but when he started talking it less seriously, that's when he started to get positive results.

Has anyone had the same experience before?

I agree.  When you gamble amd its stressful you make bad decisions or chase losses, etc.  Take the emotion out of it and have fun.  Then you won't feel the need to gamble when you are having an off day.  For me it's entertainment so win or lose I really don't care.  It's helped me make rational decisions when awhile ago I wasn't when I was playing to win.

Nobody knows this for sure.  What I can tell ypu is that at some point we will probably see a parabolic rise with the market.  Not sure which coins will go the most but it happens every cycle and we haven't seen it yet.  So with that being said I wouldn't be scared of a pullback and actually would welcome it.  Cost average in when it comes down and be ready for the real bull to kick in
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: April 07, 2024, 11:57:08 PM
It is am obvious fact there are a lot of coins coming in to the market and Bitcoin halving is so close and alot of people are also diving in to the  market, but some thing actually triggered me creating this thread which is where I got the attention from, some one very close to me has been prioritizing coins involvement other than his health care. What are your option on this?

It depends on what that Healthcare is.  If he has a cough and just isn't going to the doctor than fine.  But if it's something serious than no investment is worth putting that off.  It's nice to leave things behind but I'm sure those people would rather have the person around than their money.  As with anything balance is the key to life.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 07, 2024, 11:53:32 PM
Watching the Knicks ay right now I've come to two conclusions.  For one the Knicks are in trouble.  Jalen brunson is a dam beast in the paint but he needs help.  Julius randle going down for the season crushed them, they need him on the court.  And the second is the Bucks are totally beatable.  They are down 10 points as we speak but they play so soft.  They will get beat up by a team that bangs down low and can play on the outside.  It's so tough being a knicks fan🤨

175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your strategy to win in this bull run? on: April 06, 2024, 07:25:51 PM
Easy strategy is to just dollar cost average buying into bitcoin.  I will dabble into some altcoins but not too much.  The secret is to just keep stacking sats and buying bitcoin.  Since it's inception in 2009 anyone who has continually bought in no matter the price is in profit.  It's not that difficult of a strategy.  It's not flashy nor will turn a 1000× profit but it's a sure winner.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MUMU the Bull, the next Shiba?? on: April 06, 2024, 07:23:10 PM
Previous bull cycles have seen the likes of Shiba Inu and Doge dominate the memecoin world. This cycle, however, is yet to get into full flow. I think we'll have a new mascot for the bull run, and that could be Mumu the bull. Here's what caught my attention:

✅Has been holding the $20M market cap as floor price.
✅Has over 44k DEX followers, excluding those on CEX (Bitget, Gateio etc.).
✅Has strong backing from bulls, etc.

Have you come across this meme? What do you think?

Might it take off? Maybe but what we do know is in the end it will probably fall all the way to zero.  It is just another useless coin in the world of memecoins.  I can create one that holds the same value in less than an hour.  It's rediculous that people blindly throw theor money so quick on these types of things.  Greed is something else..
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Betting Tips Heading into the 2024 Postseason on: April 06, 2024, 07:20:43 PM
These are some decent tips I have some more that I like to live by:

1)  this is my biggest one that I love to bet.  Betting on individual player points, rebounds and assists over unders.  For superstar players I always bet theor over on points or rebounds whatever theor specialty is.  Like sabonis on sacramento.  I will jam the over on his rebounds no matter what it is.  These players play more minutes in the playoffs and tend to dominate theor strengths.  Like lebron might not score a ton in the regular season, in playoffs you can guarantee he isn't passing off a good shot in the fourth quarter.

2) I like this sneaky one too.  Live bet the over for the fourth quarter. Lots of action in the fourth and at the end of games teams will foul relentlessly if they are losing to try to catch up.

Either way can't wait until playoffs start next week.

Guys, I just notice that the 1st seed spot on Western conference is tie. This is my first time noticing a tie on the top spot. Assuming their score will be tie at the end of the regular season how does NBA decides who will get the spot.

Is there a tie breaker match or other stats basis to determine who will get the spot.

Warriors is close to securing their spot against Rockets because they are now on lose streak after their good run to steal the last spot for the play-in tournament against Warriors.

There is a set of tie breaks that the league has preset.  First and what usually determines the difference is the head to head matchups.  Whoever won more against the other team gets the spot ahead.  It's used fairly often and I think it's pretty fair since it only involves the 2 teams.  The problem that comes up is in a situation where 3 or more teams are tied for a certain place. Either way a simple Google search will show ypu all the tie break rules
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoins on the Solana Chain are still thriving. on: April 05, 2024, 09:16:25 PM
For the most part it will be just mostly overhyped nonsense.  The more mania that goes into memecoins the more that get made.  It's spreading the wealth too thin.  Back when doge surged it was because all memecoin focus was centered around it.  Now there's zillions that people follow.  They can't all go up and most of them are worthless.  I'd be weary buying a significant amount of my money in the memecoin trend.
