141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Meme" coins are ruining everything on: March 31, 2024, 03:25:18 PM

What's your opinion on this? Do you think the "meme" coins craze will move the industry away from being a utilitarian one to a speculative one? Will the hype last forever? Do you think crypto will do fine with "meme" coins in the way?

Seriously I will say the hype will continue to raise over time for memecoins because the number of investors looking for those memecoins to get rich quick are definitely growing and currently they are more than those investors in this space than people solely investing for the utility sake. When you look at the whole trend of memecoins coming into a new ecosystem you will notice that some of this memecoins are incorporated just to generate more attention to that ecosystem just like how the Solana ecosystem is gaining a massive turnover by meme coin hunters.

I think developers will continue to tweak their ecosystem protocol to actually allow or accommodate the memecoins so yes this space will definitely do fine even if they continue to increase the number of memecoins

Memecoins are a zero sum game.  Some people yes will male money but they are useless and when something better comes put people will sell this crap so fast that people are going to lose millions of dollars in missed opportunity.  There are tons of memecoins last bull run and most of them are worthless even though they pumped at one time.  If you lose money in that game you kind of deserve it.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 31, 2024, 03:20:58 PM
I was just playing Hi-Lo, making small dollar bets, if it's 5 number card I select higher card and win, if it's 10 number then I go with 'low' and win.

Then I was greeted with Ace card, minimal possibility for equal card right (i.e, Ace), so I go all in, and guess what happens, the result is Ace means I lost the bet.

Then I have all sorts of thoughts blaming casino, like do they manipulate the result of the game when user goes all in. I am sure they are all fair, it's just that the possibility of losing the game may be minimal but it's never 0.

That's how they get you.  You can win win win and then in one bet they get all theor money back.  My rule of thumb is to never go all in, even if most times you'd win.  The odds you usually get don't favor you over the long run.  I know the feeling though, in the moment you think you got cheated, really your greed just got the best of you.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 31, 2024, 03:18:30 PM
Just imagine about what will happen if they could able to defeat Mavs and Wolves then continue their winning streak then provably with that they have huge chance to replace Warriors at 10 spot on standings. Although this is really though since that two teams is more stronger than them but who knows their hot streak will lift their confidence and they can able to surpass these two teams then can continue their winning streak.

I can't imagine that the Rockets will be able to pass the Mavericks. They met a couple of times this season and although the Rockets were able to defeat the Mavericks at one of those meetups, the Mavericks didn't have Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Daniel Gafford, and P.J. Washington in that game while the Rockets were playing at their full healthy lineup. The Timberwolves recently destroyed one of the top teams too, the Denver Nuggets, and they will be really a tough team to beat for the Rockets.

Confidence is not enough for the Rockets to win but as you said and I agree with, who knows?

If you are a risky bettor, you can put some extras betting on the Rockets' Moneyline and point spread. I'm sure the odds for them will be juicy.

I'm thinking the same thing.  I laid in on Dallas and believe it or not Dallas was still favored by 2.5 points.   Houston can't win every game from here on out amd I think these next 2 games might not go there way.  With a healthy Dallas team I just think it's a bad matchup for them.  Luka should cook today.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 31, 2024, 03:15:58 PM
Lots of good games on today.  Coming off a winless night a couple nights ago I need to hit it big today.  Chasing the losses and doubling my bets.  Here is my 3 I'm on so far:

Nuggets -4.5 at home.  Seems like a suspect line but I will bite.  Nuts at home I will take em.

Lakers -6.5.  Just don't believe in the Nets.  Late season push Lakers win by double digits here.

Mavericks -2.5.  I don't like betting against the Rockets right now but they can't win them all.  Think Dallas matches up well here and break their run.

Enjoy the games and good luck!
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 31, 2024, 03:10:47 PM
When sports people retire, they do tend to gain some weight first. What happens later on is up to them, some let the weight get ahead and just keep on gaining more and more weight, some realize that they need to get back in shape and do better. I have seen too many sports people gain weight within 5 years of them retiring, doesn't mean it is a must because there are some who still keep their shape as well but it's common.

Weight is not an issue for Mikey because if you look at his videos now, he almost look the same but he age and he cannot hide that. We don't have to take this fight seriously, because obviously we know that Mike is already old and he'll likely lose. Jake is not just an ordinary boxers, he already fought a lot of boxers and beat most of them,  per record he only have one loss but in a split decision against Fury, so overall he is great.

now, my concern is whether Tyson will survive the 12 rounds, it was reported that it's only a 2 minute rounds so it's short but since Jake Paul is a heavy hitter, I doubt Mike will last. Again, I believe it's not about the weight/body but the age.

Definately the age.  Boxing requires tons of stamina it's not just how hard you hit but how long you can continue to do so at a damaging rate.  Mike's ego will make him fly out of the gate swinging.  If Jake can weather the first flurry of punches he will be fine.  It's sad because if they were both the same age this fight wouldn't even have gone off because Mike would likely have killed jake.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: new meme coin help on: March 30, 2024, 08:52:38 PM
I m new here and, to be honest, I m just starting to figure things out. I stumbled upon something that has truly captivated me: PekinCoin. What particularly attracted me to PekinCoin is the rumor about a private Telegram server exclusively for private sales. It seems that this exclusive space offers its members access to unique information and opportunities, far from the public eye. The idea of such a select group, where the community can directly interact with the developers and have early access to certain offers, sounds incredibly appealing. But, here comes my question to you, my fellow crypto enthusiasts: is there anyone among you who is part of this private Telegram server and could share an invitation with an eager newcomer?

Sounds scammy to me.  Anywhere they have "exclusive" sales for means the inside people are looking to dump these on people for more eth or bitcoin.  Maybe it's just me but all of these memecoins to me are just alternate ponzi schemes.  They are built just to make more eth for people.  If you aremt on the inside you will just be the one left holding the useless bag in the end.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cutting my gambling costs to Invest some of it on the Alt and Meme Coins. on: March 30, 2024, 08:31:28 PM
Why I can only afford to invest in the highily volatile AltCoins and the MemeCoins is that the tokens are cheaper to purchase in a lot of quantities unlike bitcoin that's very expensive. Although it's agreed that one can invest on bitcoin with any amount of money but comparing the fractions or quantity, bitcoin is more quality and expensive.
So I'd only Invest on these Meme and the Alt Coins with my at stake funds supposing to be funded on my gambling. So I'd rather skip or cut my gambling stakes so that I can alternate it to Invest of the unreliable Coins which I'd also say to be it's highily risky to be sighted as gambling too.

You are looking at this all wrong.  Bitcoin being expensive is relative because it's fractionally.  I can find you a ton of cheap memecoins right now that are "expensive" because they likely have already peaked and are only going to go down.  If you buy a coin that only costs $.00001 each but goes down or bitcoin that is $70,000 each but only goes to.  Which one is more expensive?  Don't use that as your guideline.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 30, 2024, 08:29:15 PM
2-3 days ago the Atlanta Hawks made a very good comeback and won the game. They will play against Boston Celtics again tonight and I can't make any predictions for this game. It will be a fun game to watch. Let's see what the result will be.
They got complacent and careless the last time but I think the Celtics will get their revenge later to show that it was just a fluke. If you're still doubting them then this is probably your chance to get some for the Hawks since bookies have it  @1.08 for Boston and @8.60 for Atlanta. Hawks +10.50 also looks good @2.50

Dejounte Murray played a great game and was the game winner. The Atlanta Hawks surprised again and won the game in overtime.
As I said, it was a difficult game to predict, many people who bet on this game may have lost because of this game.

Yeah I don't know what the moneyline was on the Hawks but it had to be a huge payout.  I think the line was -15.5 for Boston. Boston always seems to throw up some stinkers every now and again.  In my eyes it's Boston and Denver and then everyone else.  Boston in a 7 game series is going to be incredibly hard to beat.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 29, 2024, 02:19:37 PM
Some surprising type games last night.  What is up with the Celtics losing a prime time game against an undermanned Hawks team??  I know they can lose any game but that one was bad.  They lose weird games

And tonight the Knicks play and keep rolling.  Sitting in the 3 hole with the Bucks losing there is a real shot they can take the 2 spot.  Weirdly enough if they won the first round I'd rather they faced the Celtics in the second round then the Bucks (assuming they both won).  Knicks could never figure out how to contain giannis and its a bad matchup.  Either way excited for the last but of the season to wrap up.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the #1 rule you live by in sports betting? on: March 29, 2024, 02:16:39 PM
There are multiple rules I live by.

1) if a line looks too good to be true, it is!
2) if I am winning that game and it's pretty much a given but I want to bet in game live I won't bet more than 50% of my projected profit so that no matter what I come out a winner with the possibility to win more
3) this is a big one, I don't bet single one shot things like ball/srime on next pitch in baseball, 2pt or 3pt for next shot in basketball, pass/run next play for football.  Too easy to lose too quickly
151  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Question: How many physical bitcoins have been created? on: March 29, 2024, 12:51:37 AM
You quite possibly will never get the true estimate.  Lots of makers have made prototypes or weren't for public release and unknown as to how many of a certain coin has been made.  I applaud your effort and would be interested in seeing the depth of coins from some makers.  I can try to tally up how many I've made over the years.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Shiba inu get to $1 on: March 28, 2024, 09:47:34 PM
Don't be rediculous it can literally never reach $1.  There is not enough fiat value in the world to get it to $1.  People need to start looking at supply and marketcap..it's a real thing!  Anyone who thinks shib could ever reach a dollar doesn't know anything about economics.  For shib to reach a dollar it would have a marketcap of 580 Trillions dollars lol.  To put it in perspective shib would be worth 50× more than all of the gold in the world lol.

You also have to look at things with an open mind, tokens can be burn easily and the teams can decide to burn some of the supply of Shiba Inu. Exchanges can decide to burn tokens through using some part of the trading fees that they get from trading Shibu Inu to burn some tokens. It literally takes the decision of some top individuals to make Shiba Inu to become valuable. Binance exchange was burning Luna coin from the trading fees to reduce the supply, same thing can happen to Shiba Inu.

With the total supply of Shiba Inu, achieving the $1 mark looks impossible but things can be done and we might see it trading at $1 in the future. Nobody also believe Dogecoin will be trading at the price it's trading now. Don't doubt anything in the market as anything is possible here. Things don't work the same way they work in the real world as I have seen some individuals make impossible amount of profits.

Still no.  Exchanges aren't going to burn that many coins for "free" and the team isn't going to burn anymore either.  It literally can never get to a dollar, it's basic economics.  It would outpace all of the fiat in the entire world combined lol.  It's a memcoin that's basically useless.  I would be surprised if it's gets any higher from here to begin with.  Maybe if bitcoin bulls it can run a little but you are talking literally an insane number.  That's like me saying bitcoin can get to $1,000,000,000,000,000,000 because "you never know".
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Meme" coins are ruining everything on: March 28, 2024, 09:22:13 PM
I see "meme" coins are clogging up Blockchains and rendering them useless, as the hype shows no signs of slowing down. Blockchains like ETH, BTC, and even Polygon/MATIC have seen an increase in network fees. Even Coinbase's ETH L2 network (BASE) have been affected by "meme" coins.

This is frustrating, because there are users who want to use crypto for day-to-day payments. Not for speculating or getting rich quick. Developers are going to need to constantly improve on-chain scalability to keep fees as low as possible. That's without undermining decentralization, of course.

What's your opinion on this? Do you think the "meme" coins craze will move the industry away from being a utilitarian one to a speculative one? Will the hype last forever? Do you think crypto will do fine with "meme" coins in the way?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

This won't last forever.  These "projects" are completely baseless and pointless.  As with other fads people move on to the next best thing.  So many people will be left holding these bags of absolute garbage.  It's temporary and honestly slows the bull down for other real projects to give more people time to load up.  Consider it an opportunity that these dumb memecoins are constraining the real bull.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 28, 2024, 09:18:09 PM
Took a couple nights off and am diving into 3 games tonight:

Knicks -13.5. - maybe a Homer fan pick but knicks are playing great basketball and Toronto is just spiraling right now.  On the road but I still like the Knicks chances to cover here

Lakers -4.5.  On the road but they are making a push for a playoff spot and right now they need to climb the ranks to not get an away game in the playin.

Pacers -2.5. All away games today but I like the surging Pacers here.  They match up better than the bulls do here.

2-1 last night not bad.  Big mitch back in for the Knicks!  I know I'm a fan but once OG comes back and julius this is not going to be a team wants to play a 7 game series against.

Tonight we only got 2 games and gonna follow my away game sweep here

Celtics -16.5 away at the Hawks.  So many Hawks players out this shoukd be easy work for the celts.

The next game was tough but I got the Bucks here.  I know Pelicans have been surging and they are home but I like the Giannis matchup here.  Was kind of a toss up but laying down with basically a pickem.

Good luck and enjoy the games!
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 28, 2024, 08:58:11 PM
The Houston Rockets also escaped with a victory against a more formidable opponent, the Thunder. And Jalen Green once again with a monster performance. Too bad, they're still in the 11th spot after GSW's earlier win over Orlando.

The Rockets' win over the Thunder was a surprise. I think if they continue at this pace, they can win their upcoming games against teams like the Mavs and Wolves. By the way, it's funny that the Rockets and Warriors will face each other on April 5. Most likely it will be clear which of these two teams will be 10th in the standings by then.

Maybe but that might be the deciding game.  Honestly if they are a game apart I'd love for that to be thrown on national TV.  Either way I would be watching it.  Honestly the way they are playing right now I assume the play in teams would rather face an older golden state team then to have to deal with them with a one game series.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: March 28, 2024, 08:56:05 PM
Yesterday was trying to place bet and during the process something in me keeps telling me to increase your wager do you know if you would hit something you never won before.. I was like is this how other people are being controlled by gambling or is it how it works? I said, no wonder some people gamble and finishes their allocation for the week or month. This can even lead someone to also go borrow if this feeling is not killed and stop, you can also see that this attributes in gambling addiction.

However, have you had this feeling while gambling before be it offline casino and online casinos?

That's not understanding your own limits and greed setting in.  Your first guylt on how much to bet something is typically the right amount based on whatever risk appetite you have for that.  Then greed sets in telling you when (not if) you win your winnings will be higher.  Risk starts getting adjusted or overrides by greed.  Happens all the time.  You need to understand if you are susceptible to that and just stay away then.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Shiba inu get to $1 on: March 27, 2024, 09:56:08 PM
In my opinion, it seems very difficult for Shiba Inu to reach $1 because it is a big increase for Shiba Inu. Even though we know that nothing is impossible in the crypto market and what will happen in the future, it is difficult to reach such a high price because to reach a price of $1 requires a very big push, especially since Shiba's ATH is only around $0.000088. Therefore, whether it is good or not to invest in Shiba Inu depends on your decision, but if you invest in Shiba Inu and expect the price to reach $1, it seems that it will take you a very long time and the reality will not necessarily happen according to your expectations.

If the market continues to rise, one day Shiba Inu can reach $1 but it'll not be happening soon. Maybe if the market cap of the whole cryptocurrency industry pass 100 trillions of dollars then Shiba inu is still trading and popular, we can have the price to reach that amount but you don't have to wait until Shiba inu gets to $1 before you can make life changing profits. It might be already late if you're looking to make big profits from investing small amount of money into Shiba Inu.

But there was a time when dogecoin was like shiba inu and it gained more popularity and now trading close to a $1. Shiba Inu can do it too but it'll take a very long time since Shiba Inu has more total supply than dogecoin. Dogecoin is also more popular and has a bigger community than Shiba Inu. Everything is possible in crypto as some cryptocurrency projects has made more gained tham we imagined.

159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poll: What Crypto coin would you prefer in a skill game on: March 27, 2024, 09:38:44 PM
thanks guys I will add now USDT

to be frank I did not think that players would prefer USDT. but thanks for feedback

Since you didn’t mention anything about the type of tournament all we know is that is has to do with “skill” and only asked about the crypto prefer then let me just add my 2 cents.

I voted for TRX, due to the low gas fee that’s need to transact it and also the speed but is there any reason why you didn’t add “USDT” to the list? It would be nice if you add it, as it will give those voting more options to choose from.

would you vote different if you would know the game? I did not think that it is important for now but to know that it is a skill game and not a game of luck.

Since it's pegged to a particular fiat amount more gamblers might be willing to jump in.  During a bull run it's tough to throw crypto into the wind when it's worth more (in fiat) than the day before.  Some gamblers get reluctant to put it into the pot and rather just hold.  Either way why does it have to be just one coin. I'd say offer more because it will open up newer markets of people for your "skill game".
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How possible is it to win lottery 14 times using mathematics calculations on: March 27, 2024, 09:34:03 PM

Navigating through articles online got me attracted to a catchy caption yet disturbing (the link posted below).
I am  a stern believer that gambling. Which I believe that lottery is, is purely a game of luck rather than skills or expertise.
How this managed to happen repeatedly for 14 times means it's not just luck, something else must have happened.

https://www.unilad.com/news/mathematician-won-lottery-14-times-317063-20231230

Leave your opinion if you think it's 100% luck to be  winner or there is a particular skill needed.

This is 100% some sort of collusion going on.  I don't know the numbers behind it but it's almost mathematically impossible to win the lottery that many times.  It's happened where people have won 2 or 3 times but it's extremely rare.  I don't know if I've ever seen a case of any more than that.  So to win 14 tines just isn't possible.
