421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If I have $40,000 to invest in one #cryptocurrency. on: January 22, 2024, 11:46:33 PM
All in a bid to ensure I have a concrete investment plan this year, I researched some of the altcoins that has the potential to yield the best return over a duration of 5years. BTC and Eth top my list as one of the more secure coins, but other altcoins have proven to be reliable overtime, if you agree. Despite market volatility and the possibility of a crash, which is your most valid choice right now.

*If I have $40,000 to invest in one #cryptocurrency that will make me a billionaire, Which one do you think would be a better choice, besides BTC and Eth of which I have grown accustomed to?

- $BTC *
- $ETH *
- $ADA
- $VET
- $SOL
- $MATIC
- $SHIB
- $NEAR
- $DOGE
- $DOT
- $LINK

These are some of the best I have seen so far.

*What advice would you give me?

Honestly I know you said besides bitcoin but that's probably your best bet.  All the other choices you are risking a lot.  If one of these coins makes ypu a millionaire by chance then there is a good chance that bitcoin is going to at least be in the $500k range.  Is it worth the risk in missing out on bitcoins run to try to find something that will.outpace it?

Wow what a brutal game for a bills fan.  Stefan Diggs missed an absolute dime in the fourth which would have changed the game.  And what more can be said about wide right.  For fans that were old enough to have watched the Norwood wide right in the superbowl this must have brought up some bad .memories.  playoff mahomes rolling along.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 22, 2024, 11:41:08 PM
^^ I'll tail you on this game.

I think the Sixers is more capable to cover that spread against the struggling Spurs.

Dallas vs Boston, - would love to see Dallas and Luka pull another magic here, so Dallas ML for me. Luka against the best team in the league with Tatum and Brown. Kyrie too, I'm expecting him to score big in this game.

I'm taking the sixers tonight and as a hedge I'm taking the over on embid 35.5 points.  If this game is close and the sixers don't cover embid will get a lot of playing time and he will absolutely dominate the inside with wemby in there.  Might take a stab at the over on rebounds too.  Embid has been dominant and I'm riding his overs until he cools down.

Lakers’ LeBron James and Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo finish as leaders in the NBA’s final 2023-24 All-Star fan returns; voting ends Saturday

I am glad to see Alperen Sengun's name right there on the number 6 of the Western Conference frontcourt All-Star votes.

Trades are silent. The deadline is in 15-16 more days. Mostly rumors are what's happening right now.

Poor D'Lo, his name keeps popping up for a trade between the Lakers and the Hawks,

And as per report, the trade might look like this,

Lakers get:
- Dejounte Murray

Hawks get:
- D’Angelo Russell
- Jalen Hood-Schifino
- 2029 1st round pick
- Additional Draft Comp

It's not yet final and official, but it looks like after playing good in the last couple of games for the Lakers, D'Lo is on the move again.
Well, I thought they were looking for more guards but they are trading away a shooter and a guard which they need the most. I hope they will change the offer. The Lakers need DLo, there must be something else they can offer because this is like a loss to the Lakers because they are adding a 1st round pick. I might agree if this trade is only 1:1 but they are taking away the chemistry and more. It's a rumor for now and I hope it will not materialize. DLo has been on the move a lot, I think LA is where he belongs and he has been playing great in his last 3 games.
They are not losing because of him, they should check their whole roster first. Rui Hachimura for example has not been an effective shooter anymore and it's not like he is strong in the rebounding sector.

You can't get someone like dejante Murray without giving up some decent pieces otherwise why would Atlanta want to move him.  A 2029 first round pick doesn't move the needle for a guy like Murray today.  If I'm Atlanta I wouldn't even do that deal they could probably get a better package elsewhere.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Islamic Coin- the Shariah-Compliant Digital Money for the HAQQ Ecosystem ! on: January 21, 2024, 11:34:37 PM
I am thrilled to introduce Islamic Coin (ISLM), the native currency of the HAQQ Network, bringing a new era of possibilities for the global Muslim community and blockchain enthusiasts alike ! 🔥

No matter how I feel about religion, but all known attempts to cross religion and cryptocurrencies have always ended in scam. These things are not compatible and such statements in the description of coins are just trying to parasitize on people's faith and on various religious confessions. Someone just invented another clone of a famous coin and decided to wrap it in a religious wrapper for their own enrichment.

P.S. My post in no way offends Islam. It is only about cryptocurrency.

Agreed.  I don't know how religion and crypto coexist.  It's not like there is a religious financial instrument in the fiat world.  I fear that people use this to pull on people's heartstrings to extract money out of them.  What pro would there be to include the religion's name in the coin name other than to direct your marketing towards that group.  Hopefully it's not ill willed and this project doesn't scam people out of their money.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which good altcoins can I hold along with Bitcoin for the upcoming halving? on: January 21, 2024, 11:31:07 PM
You are on the right track in that ypu are thinking of how to supplement your bitcoin holdings with a little altcoin holding.  If I were you I'd take a look at polygon/matic.  Great protocol that it's developers have done a lot of things to push that project further during the bear run. Whatever ypu do don't follow the latest amd greatest fads like memcoins.  Ypu will just end up losing your stack.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 21, 2024, 11:27:39 PM
Looking forward to tonight's knicks game.  Homecoming for rj barrett and immanel quickley.  It's a pretty unassuming game but I bet this one is a highly competitive one.  Expecting to see julius randle bully rj around.  Knicks are quietly having a good year and ever since they traded them away and got OG they are the best defensive team in the league over those 10 games.  They still need one more piece, Clarkson would be a great add for the bench.

Definitely it will be a great game as IQ and RJ Barrett are going back to Madison Square Garden. And with that, it will be very competitive that I think the Raptors might win this game. I know that they are a huge underdog here and that's why I love them in this game. So laying some money on them at ML.

I haven't heard about Clarkson though being on the trading block.

But we will see, we still have time before the trading deadline and for sure there will be a lot of high profile names being moved around, like Lavine and Dejonte Murray, whose name are being link to a trade to the Lakers.

Was a great environment last night.  Knicks fans in the stadium gave a proper IQ and RJ welcome.  Then the Knicks went ahead and dismantled them during the game.  Since the trade the Knicks defense has been tops in the league and I'm liking this more and more.  OG Anunoby reminds me of the 80s/90s Knicks.  Love this team going forward.  Still think they will make one more move to bolster the bench.
428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: January 21, 2024, 11:07:04 PM
Watching the pre-game show and everybody is confident on those Detroit Lions to win, which worries me.
Once everybody is on a team they seem to lose.

This is the play-offs after all and what rohang said in his earlier post rings true most definitely here.

I still am going with the home teams today for both matches.
Bills are solid at home but Chiefs are killers in the post-season when their backs are to the wall.

Markets if you want to put in a bet at the last second for the Lions and the Bills later on after this one:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/american-football/usa/nfl/matches

I get the same feeling you do when everyone is on one side it's a trap bet.  Detroit looks good but the bucs have been staying with them.  And for me I'm on the other side I'm on the kc side tonight.  For whatever reason whenever the playoffs hit mahomes just does his thing.  They might not win but dude always is in the game, the moment never seems too big.  I got kc going to the SB again..
429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 21, 2024, 10:47:47 PM
Cashing out too early is not such a terrible thing.  Yeah sometimes it sucks because ypu could win more but it's always OK to book some sort of profit.  For the most part the problem people face is that they keep letting it ride so they never end up winning anything.  It's always better to win a dollar than to lose a hundred dollars
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Xrp still worth to break its previous 3.4$ ATH? on: January 20, 2024, 08:11:16 PM
After winning the court case, xrp just like skyrocket, pump a lot and become come back to its old rank. Xrp is obviously a good coin otherwise it can't be a top altcoin anymore. But investors always like upgrading and advance technology. So if any coin can't maintain its efficiency then it might lost its investor and volume and value.
So what do you think? Xrp is still looks good , 60 cent per each. Is it possible to break previous record of 3.4$ this time and will become able to make a new victory?

It all depends on bitcoins price.  If bitcoin goes to $1million would xrp breaking its previous all time high be considered a success.  Since most altcoins are paired against bitcoin for trading then given the same supply and demand their fiat value inherently goes up.  I don't understand why people talk fiat value on altcoins and never mention the opportunity costs of not being in on bitcoin during that same time.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Kaspa actually Bitcoin 2.0? on: January 20, 2024, 08:08:54 PM
They have maximum total supply, like Bitcoin
PoW like Bitcoin
Halvings like Bitcoin.

10 blocks per second on Testnet vs. 1 block per 10 minutes on Bitcoin

You can scan QR code. In 0.1 second block is created. In 1 second 10 confirmations. And you don't even need these 10 blocks. Because if several blocks are created at the same time - they all are added. So if you get into a block. This block can't be cancelled by other blocks.

Testnet. 10bps
http://104.11.218.91:8080/

Mainnet. 1bps
https://explorer.kaspa.org/

Bitcoin. But a real-time method of payment. What do you think?

You just mentioned supply, halving, etc which can be said about any coin.  Why would this coin be any differe.t then the other useless coins that were created.  You literally can create a new coin that has all of those things in under an hour.  Copy paste bitcoin code and change some of the parameters.  Useless
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the largest meme coin ever? on: January 20, 2024, 08:07:05 PM
Dogecoin by a mile.  Not that I am supportive of any memecoin but if you were going to buy any I'd buy that one since it has the staying power of time.  Problem is it's endless stream of new minted coins 10k every minute.  Demand will never be able to continually outpace supply.  Amd the rest are just trash scams.

Tho of freaking course Love looks to be a rising star. My god, GB has some sort of QB drafting cheat code.

It's not a cheat code they draft and have them sit behind the veteran for a year or 2 or 3 to learn the system before throwing them to the dogs.

You're not wrong at all.  That's how it used to be where rookies would come in, sit for 2-3 years and learn the nfl.  Now it's just fire them out there and cross your fingers it works out.  Most of these kids are shell-shocked out of the league before they shoukd have even been starting.

With that being said it's fooooootball time!! Love this time of year.  Enjoy the games fellas
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we consider a project legitimate if it has been in existence for two years? on: January 19, 2024, 10:39:21 PM
That's a hard no.  If a business is in business for 2 years does that mean they are legitimate?  Not the same but you get the point.  Some people play the long game, especially since we've been in a bear market for awhile.  They might strike when prices are high and we are in a complete bull.  In crypto ypu never say never amd always keep your guard up.  Don't trust any project...except bitcoin.
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 19, 2024, 10:34:28 PM
It appears everyone in this thread was correct. It was announced that Mike McCarthy will be the head coach for next season.

Owner Jerry Jones explained his decision in a statement:
"I believe this team is very close and capable of achieving our ultimate goals and the best step forward for us will be with Mike McCarthy as our head coach. There is great benefit to continuing the team's progress under Mike's leadership as our head coach.

On the divisional games, I worry for the Ravens, the Lions and the Bills. The Texans defense are not to be underestimated and we have already witnessed the difference between Lamar on the regular season and Lamar of the post season.

On the Lions, I am not very optimistic on them after the wildcard game vs. the Rams.

On the Bills. Patrick Mahomes and Taylor Swift.
Jerry Jones is delusional. They paid Dak and lost all their receiver talent when they did. They now have Cee Dee Lamb who is good, but cannot do it all. Yes they have other receivers, but none that are awesome. Pollard is declining, guy looked great when competing for playing time with Zeke, but has dropped off since getting the starting job. The defense is solid, but didn't show up in the playoffs.

I'm not sure if the problem is 100% McCarthy, but the guy isn't doing a great job when it matters. Look at all the teams the Cowboys beat and look who beat them. They played terrible vs teams with a winning record. I would have probably let McCarthy go and got me an offensive coach.

Their defense falls completely flat when they need to show up too.  For a giants fan this is amazing.  Watching McCarhy coach with fear amd desperation is going to be fun to watch.  Ceedee to me is a top 3 wide out in all of football right now.  I'd take him over everyone not named JJettas and Tyreke hill.  Honestly until Jerry homes gives up the day to day ops they aren't going amywhere.

Poor D'Lo, his name keeps popping up for a trade between the Lakers and the Hawks,

And as per report, the trade might look like this,

Lakers get:

Hawks get:

It's not yet final and official, but it looks like after playing good in the last couple of games for the Lakers, D'Lo is on the move again.

I can't see Atlanta pulling the trigger on this trade.  Dlo is OK but trading your starting point guard for Lakers bench players and a draft pick 6 years from now does little in terms of making them competitively better.  I can see a contender adding a young pice and a pick closer to now or 2 picks even.  Murray is a great addition for a contending team.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 19, 2024, 10:27:07 PM
If you are playing games of luck then the odds are always in the house's favor.  Casinos want you to play these all the time.  Not because they always have the odds over the better but the longer you bet the more likely you lose your stack.  I think betting sporadically and knowing when to walk away and lock in Winnings is the way to play.
439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: January 19, 2024, 10:25:22 PM
I don't know if many of you have been paying attention to the recent happenings going on in Iowa and in New Hampshire. It seems Vivek has finally given up on his presidential aspirations and get all the way down to endorse Trump. It is pretty much an strategy to see whether he can become his Running mate in my opinion.
Meanwhile, it seems Nikki Haley is getting closer to concentrate some of the voter base in NH, enough to get Trump nervous about her and continue to attack her even rougher and harder.

I am predicting DeSantis to drop out the race and leave the rest of the race to be a rescue of two, it will be specially humiliating to him, and if Trumps manages to get into the presidency, then it will be very dark days for DeSantis politicsl career. At this point, I would not be surprised to learn Haley's odds have increased overall in the most of the gambling market.

It is still very unlikely for her to defeat Trump, but she has just got a lil bit closer to that possibly. She may even get more money from donors.

What do you think?

Honestly I agree with all of that.  DeSantis is fading and it will get ugly with trump and Nikki Haley debating, but I kind of want to see those 2 debate.  Trump has to be the clear favorite to come out on that side.  I haven't checked any of the odds but what are the current odds for Joey B, trump and Nikki Haley?  It's certainly going to be an entertaining 11 months from here.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins: Over 50% of Cryptocurrencies Have Failed on: January 18, 2024, 10:53:46 PM
That's just as of today.  Most of those are just being held up by pure greed.  I'd argue at least 99% of these are just scams or at best not scams but projects that have unachievable goals.  Anyone can make a coin in no time and think they can run a project.  But most are just pump amd dump.toys to get those people who make them more bitcoin, eth or fiat.
