161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 16, 2023, 05:36:12 AM

And just like you said a beginner shouldn't focus too much on the profit making instead the target should just be on the accumulating process because having a profit making mindset at the beginning could affect you if realized the Bitcoin is not moving on the direction that favours you.

That sounds ideal, but when we say 'newbie,' we're referring to those who aren't very knowledgeable about the market. So, it's unlikely that they can make themselves profitable by taking advantage of market volatility. There may be a few who manage to be profitable, but I suggest that for newcomers, they should keep things simple, and that is to buy and hold.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Gold, land which better? on: October 15, 2023, 04:56:25 AM
Everything that is mentioned is a good investment as they are bound to increase in value in the long run.

Land is part of the real estate business, which is one of the major businesses of the wealthy in our country. So, I would say it's proven to be a good investment. However, always consider your current financial status. If you don't have a lot of money to invest in land, it may not be useful because investing in land doesn't generate profits right away; it's usually aimed at long-term investment.

On the other hand, gold and Bitcoin, these two are known as digital gold and physical gold, so I guess I will stick with the digital gold, which is Bitcoin. Since its inception, it has already surged to the current price, making many investors rich.
163  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Know When to Stop. Lesson for Everyone, Particularly Investors on: October 13, 2023, 06:32:57 PM
So, what you're getting at is, don't let your emotions run the show. We've got a strategy or game plan to stick to, and we can't allow our feelings to take the wheel. That's why we have these popular terms like FOMO and FUD - they're all about investors and traders making decisions based on their emotions.
Emotions become the worst enemy in trading even investing as well, the reason why if we can’t control or stop it, it’s much better not to trade or invest. Otherwise, we will certainly lost our focus why we need to trade or invest in the first place, and won’t stick to the original plan or purpose since emotions run the show. If we know that’s already happening, take a break and just come back again when you know already how to control or lessen the involvement of emotions.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin always fight back on: October 13, 2023, 02:13:02 PM
I totally agree with what you're saying. It's actually one of the best investments you can make since the price consistently increases significantly. For someone who has faith in Bitcoin and holds it for a long time, I'm confident that one day they will profit a lot. I'm really happy to see people who have as much faith in Bitcoin as I do.

I can't wait for Bitcoin's new ATH and it might reach a substantial price, possibly exceeding $100k in a few years. It's an incredible opportunity for the new generation especially if you hold Bitcoin now and teach your kids how to use it in the future.
Bitcoin could be the best investment for only those who have understood bitcoin well, but for those who invest without knowledge but only greed, probably it will be the worst investment for them. However, no matter how the people will condemn bitcoin and say discouraging words, that won’t change the fact that bitcoin is one of the best and secured investments in the market. That’s the reason why even bitcoin is highly risky, a lot of people still chose to trust on it and invest for long term, without fearing that it could easily drop its value to its lowest point one of these days.
165  Economy / Economics / Re: How to reduce the price of goods on: October 13, 2023, 06:42:31 AM
It seems it lies down to the human nature. The corrupts remain corrupts unless the righteous member of the society stand for their rights and demand to change. It happened before in my country long ago and it's in the history, The People Power. I wonder if it will happen again. Until what degree do people will tolerate the wrongdoing for the leaders they voted for the first place. Philippines is such a great country. Abundant of nature, resources yet poor leaders.
There are many corrupt leaders in the world that are exploiting the natural resources of their country.
It's just sad that because of them, instead of having a great progress to make their countries being a developing country going to being a first world.
There's a delay why it happens, reducing the price of goods is like a dream come true that's not going to happen with these type of leaders.
As corruption continues, expect that everything in the market are expensive. This is not just happening to your country OP but the rest of the countries are experiencing the same scenario. While we are struggling with our finances just to get everything our basic needs, those corrupt leaders are enjoying their profits, one reason why the country no matter how the citizens do their responsibilities, still the country is not in progress because every anomaly starts within the government itself.
166  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Before and after bull run. on: October 13, 2023, 05:41:31 AM
Or maybe the best thing you can do is get them oriented into Bitcoin, investments, the downsides of investing, risk management and how to keep at the top rather than just "keeping in touch" with them Wink

Humans are not like dogs, you can't keep them on a leash forever.
Yes, I agree. Tell them the reality that bitcoin is a combination of losing and profiting. You can’t expect to gain profits all the time, same as you can’t be losing at all times. Opening their eyes on the facts about bitcoin will help them to be aware in one way or another. Keep in touch with them but most importantly, make them understand to take calculated risks, that’s the only way that they’ll be safer with bitcoin.
167  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading on your own vs social trading and copy trading on: October 12, 2023, 02:12:02 PM
There is technically a way to make money using the knowledge of other people, but for that you will need to hire a financial manager and to let them have access to a portion of your capital so they can trade and invest in your behalf, however those people are not going to waste their time posting their results in social media and faking their results like influencers do, but very rarely people think about financial managers when they express their desire to to follow the ideas or signals of someone else, and instead they think about schemes that are managed by scammers.

Short to say, there's no easy way, like the old saying goes, if it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true. That especially happens in wealth management and trading.

Warren Buffett and others make money from other people's work not knowledge, this is what people got wrong.

If your financial manager knows more than you, or if you think he does, then he's making money from you, not the other way round Smiley
This is true. You are not actually making profits by hiring a financial manager. In fact, you are the one allowing him to make money from you, and not that you are the one benefiting from him. That is why if you just enter trading and rely the success of your trades from the other trader's work, then you are not actually becoming a successful and profitable one. Instead, you become an instrument for their own success, while leaving yourself at loss.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 12, 2023, 01:00:32 PM
I can't deny that there are types of users who reply with words that are a little harsher than usual which might make beginners a little uncomfortable.
But believe me there are more friendly people here. Even though sometimes their delivery method is a little unfriendly, believe me it is for the good of the beginner. And it would indeed be better if the way of conveying information, whether in the form of criticism or suggestions, could be in language that was smoother but easier to understand.

But in discussion forums things like this are commonplace. And I actually enjoy the diversity of characters and characteristics of the users on this forum. Because this diversity makes everything more lively and not boring.

But I agree that we all start as beginners. And yes I understand how it felt when I was also a beginner. But what I do is continue to think positively and take lessons from everything I have gone through and encountered. Likewise on this forum. And after I felt how I was treated when I was a beginner, I also learned to treat them as best as I could.
So keep learning and stay enthusiastic. Because remember, sometimes a teacher who is strict with his students actually makes the students smarter. as long as the student continues to think positively about his teacher.

So keep positif thinking
We can't expect everyone to be always at their kind words on giving suggestions and criticisms, because we all know that everyone here has its own way of teaching and sharing their knowledge and experiences on the persons that needs their thoughts and advices. But rest assured that everyone here really aims for the best most especially when it comes to teaching newbies. However, my point is if you can't deal with those harsh words in the forum, then how would you expect to deal with the risks in trading when it's even more risky and dangerous for newbies? So the people here are just motivating those newbies to stay strong and positive minded despite of the high risks in trading, even if it means not using soft words that will encourage the newbies to learn trading.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Crypto gambling on: October 12, 2023, 03:54:43 AM
Does anyone here really utilize these online crypto casinos to place bets in bitcoin and have you had much luck with it?
Totally, people are all about crypto casinos 'cause they're way easier than old-school fiat ones. So, yup, it's a big yes.

When it comes to luck, it's a mixed bag. I mean, it's all about you as a gambler, right? Everyone's got their own luck. You might be on fire today, but tomorrow's a whole different story.

But let's be real, luck isn't the best yardstick for measuring your gambling success. It's all about your skills, not just crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.

What have you found to give you the best odds in winning? Is there any skill involved in any of their games or is it all purely chance?

Yeah, like I said earlier, skills are the name of the game, but only in those skill-based games, right? I mean, obviously, you don't need any mad skills in those luck-based games. It's all about chance and rollin' those dice.
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 11, 2023, 09:38:19 PM
Why do we need to keep our records when we all know that the gambling market changes from time to time. What happens today will be a lot different tomorrow so keeping some records will not be essential at all. Gambling is luck based, and you can’t predict when you will be lucky in gambling, so keeping your records about your losses and gains will not be helpful and won’t change the situation. If you want to minimize your losses, manage your gambling habit and always bet on the amount you can afford to lose.
171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 11, 2023, 12:34:08 PM
Lol, what a start for Dillon Brooks as a Rockets,

Quote
On Tuesday, the Rockets opened their preseason schedule against the Indiana Pacers. Brooks started the game at small forward, but exactly four minutes and 33 seconds into the game, he was whistled for a foul after hitting Pacers big man Daniel Theis in the midsection. It was eventually ruled a flagrant-2 foul, and Brooks was ejected fewer than five minutes into his Houston debut.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/dillon-brooks-gets-ejected-five-minutes-into-his-rockets-debut-for-hit-on-daniel-theis/

I guess he won't change a bit regardless of what team he will be. I remember he did one to Lebron as well in the playoffs if I'm not mistaken. So his name has this kind of reputation already as a dirty player and it could be detrimental for the Rockets in the long run.

Perhaps he's still nursing a grudge from the FIBA World Cup, you know, when Germany, with Daniel Theis, bested them. When it comes to Brooks, it's tough to put all your chips on him completely changing his style. He's got his unique brand, and he's carried it with him from the Rockets. Hopefully, he'll be able to put on a show against players like Draymond Green and Pat Bev, so he can find what he's really looking for.

173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Trading on: October 10, 2023, 09:20:40 PM
Losses are indeed essential in trading. Without losses, you will never aim to improve your trades that makes you a successful trader. However, as trading market is most unpredictable, then we can’t totally say to win our trades all the time as even professional traders still lose at some point. But they never make it as an excuse to stop trading but these losses even mold them to be the best traders in the future. But always know that trading is not also for everyone. When you see trading is giving you financial pressures and is making you stressful all the time, then it’s better to just focus on investing as it can also be profitable just like trading.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 10, 2023, 11:17:07 AM
Tapales can use this opportunity to scout more about Inoue's fighting strategy. He needed to work more to find possible ways to beat or
to counter Inoue's power, though the winning chance probably won't change.

But giving that time to equip his fighting capabilities to stay up and a possible surviving the fight for possible decision ending.

We never know what fate will be for Tapales if both luck and good preparation will give him the winning outcome.

Tapales should avoid thinking about taking the fight to a decision because I'm absolutely certain it won't be in his favor. Inoue is known for his knockout ability, so Tapales needs to have confidence in his own power and believe that he can match Inoue's strength. This mindset will make him more aggressive and motivate him to go for the knockout. There's no chance of victory if he doesn't take that approach.
175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 10, 2023, 10:44:42 AM
My takeaway after watching a recap of the Lakers vs Nets matchup was that Ben Simmons looked really good. He was even attacking the basket. A completely different player from last year. We’ll see how his season goes… Anthony Davis also looked great on both ends. LeBron is still LeBron and Austin Reeves is going to be getting a lot of shots this year…

That lob pass by Lebron to Hayes though to beat the shot clock. So the Lakers really looks good at the start. Yes, kudos to Ben Simmons as well, it looks like the old Ben and have recovered from the big mental issues he had with the 76ers and now moving forward in his career.
Ben Simmons was sidelined for a while in the conversation, but it's a relief that he's made a comeback. Nevertheless, it's important to remember that it's still early to draw any firm conclusions since this is just the preseason, not the actual competition. Nonetheless, it's encouraging news. Simmons is now part of a team that doesn't have a dominant superstar, which means they can collaborate effectively as a unit. In this environment, he might have the opportunity to further develop his skills, and there's less pressure on him because the team isn't currently viewed as a playoff contender.

I also love what Kuminga said, that his mentor Rudy Gay is very instrumental on him as a player. So I'm also expecting that Kuminga will continue to improved as Warriors and might be one of the biggest surprises this season.

The Warriors have a pleasant surprise in store thanks to their excellent player development program. Jonathan Kuminga already possesses considerable talent, and if his height and athleticism are harnessed effectively, he could potentially become a superstar for this team in the future. It's important to consider this possibility, especially as the members of the team's 'big three' are not getting any younger.
176  Other / Meta / Re: bitcoin discussion board have lot of unecessary questions on: October 09, 2023, 10:49:56 AM
When signature are gone then I am sure that forum's traffic will fall down by 80%. But signatures are also good for people who contribute here who have more knowledge about bitcoin then their money invested in bitcoin.
Oh, if for some reason sig campaigns ceased to exist traffic would fall by more than 80%.  I'd bet good money on that--but so far there's been no indication that's in the works.  And you don't have to justify them to me, because I do see the benefits of them and I know people in poor countries can make excellent money by participating in them.  The problem is that a lot of those participants don't give a shit about the forum and don't care about what they're writing and just want the money.

What was that forum that got started by Yobit a while back?  Cryptotalk?  Everyone on it was being paid to post, and that place turned into plagiarism central.  So many people were copying posts made here and pasting them into any relevant thread there.  The whole thing was so ridiculous that I'm surprised it lasted more than a week.  Crypto is full of dishonest/desperate people who'll do anything to get money, and when you present them with a pretty easy writing gig....well, you either get Cryptotalk or a section like Bitcoin Discussion where the mods do the best they can.

It's undeniable that signature campaigns have greatly assisted members who live in  countries with less robust economies, although they may not necessarily be considered poor - that would be a bit harsh in my opinion.

Anyway, I've witnessed the era of Yobit and later CryptoTalk. It was the community that played a pivotal role in their efforts to halt these campaigns, and if I remember correctly, Theymos even decided to ban some of them.

As for these spammers you mentioned, who just post low-quality content, they wouldn't be able to persist if there were effective campaign managers in place. I believe most of these spammers come from participants in the bounty sections. To revisit my earlier point, what we really need are capable campaign managers. From what I've observed, campaign managers these days have improved because many of them value the forum more than just a paycheck, so they're cautious about admitting suspected spammers. However, they should also be reminded that continuous monitoring is essential. Even if a poster is initially of good quality, there's no guarantee they'll maintain that standard over time.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tszyu vs. Mendoza Confirmed for WBO Title Showdown on October 15th on: October 08, 2023, 11:46:59 AM
I guess it's about time that Tim Tszyu to have a fight since he was relegated to full WBO champion at 154 lbs since he should be fighting Jermell Charlo. But obviously, Jermell opted to fight Canelo and for more money. It's supposedly Charlo defending his belt against Tim and then Charlo got hand injuries and so the scheduled fight has been postponed for a long time and it's good as I have said that he is now a full champion not just a interim belt holder.

And since the fight is to be on his hometown Australia again, it can boost his confidence to really perform to his fans just like what he did against Tony Harrison. Hopefully though there will be no home decision if the fight is close and gets to the judges score card as it still fresh on how Jeff Horn won over Manny Pacquiao when others saw that the legendary Pacman won that fight clearly.

Haha, that time Pacman got robbed in Australia is like a page in the history books, and people are never gonna forget it. I mean, there are only a handful of boxers who managed to beat Pacman during his prime. From what I remember, it's just Marquez, Mayweather, and Erik Morales – those were legit defeats. He did lose to Bradley, but that one was kinda controversial in my book, although Manny did manage to redeem himself in the rematch.

Now, as for this upcoming fight, I think I'm gonna be rooting for Tszyu to take the win. Not just 'cause he's fighting in his home turf, but because I genuinely think he's the better fighter. It's kinda like the opposite of the Pacman vs. Horn fight we always bring up.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 08, 2023, 11:31:38 AM
Meanwhile, Steve Kim talked to Bob Arum and it's said that the fight is looking forward this December 26 in Japan once again. So it seems like American money is once again beaten by the Japanese sponsors in trying to bring this undisputed fight to Inoue's home. But at least things are clearer now that this fight will happen. But it's not too late yet for ESPN and its partners to bid more money in order to bring this fight to America.

This venue's a bit of a snoozer, right? Hehe, sorry for being blunt. I think this whole thing should go down on neutral ground. I mean, we're talking about two champions here, it's an undisputed fight, so there shouldn't be any home court advantage. Bringing it over to the US would be a win for boxing – big money's up for grabs there. Not only will the arena be packed, but their PPV subscriptions would shoot through the roof. Let's hope they see the potential in that.

Yeah, we even don't know if we can watch the fight live or it someone from Japan will stream the fight live so that we can all watch it happen. Again, Inoue doesn't want to get out of his comfort zone and just choices to play in Japan. Wherein he had generated the buzz already, Mike Tyson is talking about him, there are boxing fans says that he can go as high as 135 lbs and fight Tank Davis.

So there's already a lot of hype on him. But if he keep on fighting in his hometown, then he will not make enough money though. Still the mecca of boxing is in the US and he could easily generation millions there, as he will be the A-side so he could dictate the terms and then there is PPV numbers or even the live gates. It will be enough for him to just go out and fight one time in the US and making a lot of money.

You can watch it to many streamers will cover the live so you better search the Inoue vs Tapales on facebook on fight date and to many streams will pop up. If you seek it on national television then for sure we can't see it since they want people to pay some subscription before they can watch the fight. But since there are so many streamer want to share the live for free then we can easily access it and watch thru their help.

To many people want Inoue to fight outside since they already notice that he don't want to go out like fight in US and many people call him a coward for that. Maybe if someone can handle and convince Inoue to fight in US maybe he will consider especially if they offer a lot of money on his camp. But also I believe that Inoue already earns a lot of money even if he fight inside of his country since we should consider that boxing is popular sport in japan so most provably he is not earning a chunk their and its just many people want to see him outside and fight with other more stronger opponents.
Yeah, that's what they call illegal streaming, but let's be real, we're all kind of benefiting from it. It's not exactly a hugely popular event, so there are probably only a few people who'd even think of reporting it. Plus, our streamers are pretty savvy – they've got backup plans in place, so streaming's not really a problem.

We don't have the exact fight date yet, but it's looking like this showdown is gonna go down in Japan. That just shows how special Inoue is. I mean, back when he was the challenger, he had the champ fighting in Japan. Now that he's the champ, it's a given.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this fight. It's shaping up to be a real interesting one. Some of our fellow Filipinos might be underestimating Tapales, but I'm hoping he can prove us all wrong with a big win.
179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Secret of investing no one tells you about on: October 06, 2023, 03:50:21 PM
These are no longer secrets OP. Once you decide to invest, then always consider learning all these methods as they can be very crucial for our investment's success. Investing at some point must also be learned the hard way, so don't fear of having mistakes and losses as they can bring the best version of you for you to see your growth as a professional and successful investor.
180  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 06, 2023, 02:53:06 PM
It depends on the specific situation and the type of business. Since you say in option 2 that you would get the money over a long period of time, I would opt for option 1, start the business smaller and gradually grow. There would be a third option, which I see he has not considered, which would be to take out a loan for that $5,000, which I am not a fan of because it adds risk and costs right from the start of the business but it is very common nowadays.
Taking a loan amounting to $5k is actually not bad if you have a stable job to pay for it. But if you have low income paying job, then don't bother to do that. It will only add more risk to your future investment.

However, given on the choices, I need to be practical this time and just keep the $15k while I'm busy finding additional job that will give me extra income. That way, I know my $15k will never be at loss and will always be fixed, while earning more from a new job that will complete my investment capital.
