1601  Economy / Speculation / Re: why I bought on: March 20, 2016, 03:56:46 PM
I bought bitcoin because it is the coin to own. It is not inflationary, so the value will not be eroded like the fiat.
this is true only if some whales don't manipulate the market. After being indexed as stock bitcoin is continuosly being manipulated.

The whales are manipulating the market all the time. But the value of the bitcoin rises in the last 7 years as we can see.
The whales might always continue to try to manipulate the bitcoin market but they cannot do it all the time.

every market in the world is being manipulated by wealthy/whale traders. it will never change, and i am happy with that. we can make profit because of them. they are in the position to move markets. we as normal traders can't even make a dent in any kind of market.
1602  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: March 20, 2016, 03:53:14 PM
As im reading all the speculation in the past days everyone is talking about the halving and they are holding their bitcoin,so i guess i will be holding too.

It's wise to hold your coins at least till the block halving. After that you can decide for yourself whether you want to sell or not. You just need a few more months patience. Easy.

Patience can really profit you a lot, like in the coming months were we are heading for the halving its sure that the price will rise but we dont know how much.

Its not really bad to hold coins right now as it will give you benefit in the future when you sell it with a high price.
Yeah holding your bitcoins is a good strategy because the bitcoin price might increase after the bitcoin block halving.

holding is great for people with enough patience and dedication. but the fact is that a lot people here can't even hold their coins for a single month. not sure if it's due to them being in panic when they see the price go down, or maybe they get bored because the price doesn't move much, but these people mostly end up making losses as they chase quick profits. they don't realize that holding their coins will make them much more profit. some people never learn.
1603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will I stay or Will I leave - Poll on: March 20, 2016, 01:12:36 PM
i am a bitcoin core supporter, but let's pretend bitcoin classic takes over, then i will continue to stay as i believe in the future of bitcoin. the only negative point i see is when bitcoin classic indeed wins the battle (which i don't think will happen), then a certain group can stand up and create bitcoin ultimate for example, to take over classic. and i'm sure that it will happen. it will be group against group. and at the end the only loser will be bitcoin. Sad
1604  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will the Block halving impact the bitcoin price? on: March 20, 2016, 01:05:44 PM
looking at what happened in 2013 after the first halving in 2012, i think the price will shoot up in 2017. thats just my guess. other people think that the anticipation of the halving has already affected the market price to what it is now.

nowadays there is much more money needed to pump the price. also, right now there are much more coins on the market than with the previous block halving. more coins means more potential selling pressure. btw, the block halving will happen this year.
1605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: March 20, 2016, 12:26:01 PM
it could happen, because at the beginning of 2010 bitcoin price increases, the price reached $ 1,000 in a short time, could in 2020 be $ 2,000 bitcoin prices which commemorates the year of highest bitcoin prices

I doubt that it will reach that amount just to commemorate the years past, maybe it can reach a 1k per btc.
I am expecting the price to be something like $5,000 by 2020. We might hit $1,000 or more in 2017 or 2018.

everything is possible with enough speculation in the markets, but i really hope to see a slower but more sustainable growth throughout the years. otherwise we'll end up seeing the price go down again like we have seen in 2013 after reaching $1000. and i'm sure not many people are waiting for that same thing to happen once again.

Yes we want slow growth but above all we want that price should be stable, if bitcoin is stable then it will encourage more users to start using bitcoin.
The growth of bitcoin has been quite fast in the recent years. Bitcoin is volatile and has high risk thus it gives the highest rewards.

it's normal as there was a period of a few years where a lot new people were popping up. that on top of all the media attention when the price was breaking record high after record high. it made a lot people interested and hoping to catch the jackpot and to be a millionaire with just a small amount of money. these times are over. i think the growth that we will see the coming years will be slower than we are used to.
1606  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: March 20, 2016, 12:17:15 PM
Its one of the best things you can do because the fact is that you can than make profit on both.
I would pick gold for a long term and bitcoin for a short term due to the halving.

with gold you're always making small profits if you compare it to bitcoin. bitcoin has a lot potential growth where the price may even reach a value of a few thousand per coin. with gold the profits are in the range of 10-50% where bitcoin can give you a minimum of 200-300% in the coming years.
Yeah with bitcoin you can get a much bigger gain than gold but the potential too loose your investment is more than in gold.

it depends. if you're a calm person with enough patience and not panic when there is a sell off, then you'll be just fine if you hold your coins for the long term. you don't lose anything until you sell your coins.

1608  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: March 19, 2016, 02:42:42 PM
I am pretty shorter but $100 seems impossible right now.

$250 is bottom i think. After 2-3 years, $500 should be very bottom.

this years bottom is still $350. the chances to go below that are still there but it's not likely going to happen unless another round of bad news pops up and make a lot people here sell in panic.
1609  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Bitcoins? on: March 19, 2016, 02:39:49 PM
If you invest in bitcoin just take it slow and learn how to trade well, you might lose some but as time goes by you will profit.

i think most of the people that started with trading made losses in the very beginning. it's normal. you just need to make sure you learn from your mistakes, and eventually you'll end up making profits. patience is the key when it comes to trading. if you rush and do things in panic then it's not going to work out very well. just relax.
1610  Economy / Speculation / Re: Falling under 300 again on: March 19, 2016, 02:09:14 PM
May be we will see that price after few months of halving as it is expected we will see major price drop after halving as majority of people will sell their coins by halving.

i think 90% of the people here expect the price to go up due to the block halving. but it's not impossible to see the price to fall back that low. while the majority of the people expect the price to go up, a very minority are thinking that the price may also go down. nothing is impossible in bitcoin. we'll see what happens.
1611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about Halving??? on: March 19, 2016, 05:17:13 AM
The good thing about halving could be that it will make the price go up. So until then the good thing to do is collect as much BTC that you can. But we'll see how the market will actually react.

you also know why it will make the price go up, beside the speculation reasons? right now there is a gap between supply and demand where there currently is more supply than actual demand. the block halving will make sure everything gets even again. if there wouldn't be a block halving, then i am quite sure that without new money entering the market the price would drop significantly over time. that's the great thing about bitcoin, the supply of new coins gets only lower and lower. fiat currencies get pumped into the markets like there is no tomorrow, making your wealth less valuable year on year.
1612  Economy / Speculation / Re: sub 400 in 3.. 2.. 1... on: March 19, 2016, 05:08:30 AM
finally we see something from kwukduck pop up in this forum again. let the price go below $400 again, don't see anything being wrong with that. some people will use sub $400 prices to enter the market and that will cause the price to go up as result. i am quite interested in knowing what merchants have been stopping their bitcoin payments. if you have such a big mouth you should name the merchants you are talking about.
1613  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin just became the national currency of the tiny island Pontinha on: March 19, 2016, 05:00:18 AM
i don't understand why some people get excited about this. just a few people live on that island. it doesn't do anything for bitcoin.
1614  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10k???? on: March 19, 2016, 04:55:14 AM
We are very far from 10k in my opinion this will still take a couple of years maybe even more years.
Plus its also depending on this year if the halving is good and the price and users are growing it could happen in a couple years.

if it takes 10 years to reach $10,000 then it means that it will grow with more than $900 per year, which is insanely high. even that will not happen. we must be extremely happy if we see the price somewhere around $1000 after 2 or 3 years. that can be considered a great achievement. i think the upcoming block halving will lead to a temporary growth as i believe the price will get dumped down again. let's not expect too much from it.
1615  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: March 18, 2016, 03:08:41 PM
Bitcoin is not cash. So you can be robbed or something and that is very safe for everyone. Because you cant steal it and that is good.
I hope that more people will use Bitcoin and that Bitcoin will also be more worth so that it will also be more popular.

bitcoin can also be stolen. if your computer is infected with a virus and you don't have a proper password to secure your wallet, then your coins may get stolen.
1616  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1 million for 1 bitcoin.Here is how on: March 18, 2016, 01:01:53 PM
there is really no point into thinking about these prices. but just to answer your question about how to make bitcoin reach much higher price levels than we currently have... two words. wall street.
1617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell all stocks, buy Bitcoin or Gold on: March 18, 2016, 12:54:05 PM
i put all my focus on bitcoin only as i believe in the future potential of its technology and the currency side. i am however considering to buy myself some extra gold just for the fun. i currently have a 5 gram gold bar but i want to add another 5 gram gold bar to my holdings.
1618  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What affects Post Quality? on: March 18, 2016, 12:48:21 PM
taking myself as an example, i type untill i think it's enough and when my post adds something to the thread or the post that i quoted. but in general, length doesn't always mean it's a high/good quality post. some times you can do it in just one sentence, and some times it requires more than that. i have one main rule for posting: if i don't have anything to say, then i simply don't post. very simple.
1619  Economy / Speculation / Re: July 20, 2016, the block halving date, what will the price be? on: March 18, 2016, 12:34:37 PM
So, what do you think will be the price on that day? Are we going to be happy or are we going to be disappointed and why?

i predict, that price on halving day should be 520$ atleast, can't be higher and i am afraid that it will be even less than that

and after halving, well of course that we will be happy about price, because after halving price will be higher than before it, and atleast i am happy when i see large price

for once it's good to see some one being realistic with his prediction. i personally expect a pre-block halving pump which will get started due to all the speculation in the market. but i think it will lead to a dump just after the halving as people may sell the coins that they have been accumulating at todays prices. if we end up staying between $500-$600 then i am a happy person.
1620  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: March 18, 2016, 12:27:58 PM
I began my career in the bictoin . In 2010 the bitcoin was worth 0.01 euro , now a bitcoin worth 400 euros. I ask myself a question: what will be its value in 2020 ?.

A friend told me that its value will be 10,000 euros. Shocked

Sorry for the spelling for I am french . Wink

Thank you for your replies Smiley
probably, but I think it's too high. maybe it will rise under $10,000
and don't forget the possibility of down price. or the worst possibility bitcoin will die. no one knows

at this point anything over the $1000 price level is high when we haven't managed to come even close to that price level. i know people like to have a fantasy about bitcoin reaching insanely high price levels, but there is no point in doing so while we are currently far away from the $1000 barrier. let's first try to reach $500 and then $600 and so on. after that people can start to get excited about reaching $1000 again.
