Megalomaniac? I clearly see KIMCOINS!!1! And eventually merged mining will be so that the old, boring bitcoin blockchain attaches to the glorious KIMCOIN!!1! CHAIN!

Lots of Chinese factories are producing tungsten filled gold bars in the past few years, they are just flooding the market with them. It's impossible to detect without destroying the bar, unless one is equipped with expensive ultrasound or conductivity testing device.
I would formulate it rather "it's easy to detect with basic ultrasound testing". Never heard of a conductivity testing method though. "Expensive" is somewhat relative, with the value of those chunks of metal ;-) Indeed an interesting twist! Ente

I didn't get it with today's xkcd. Figured it out at the second look :-)

[irate has not contacted anyone...
Uh, what do you mean exactly? He "contacted" all of you ppt guys in IRC, asking for that account data. Since then he only made "announcements", as far as I know. Maybe what I was thinking/daydreaming about is too early anyway. And has time to be cleared out when he pays out, in October. /smirk Ente

Pirate tells us that everyone will get bitcoins back, with goat and bitcoinmax being the last, because they didn't provide the asked data. And with bitlane being the very last..
payb.tc, you refused to give that data because then those accounts might have been paid out directly, skipping you and the cut of it you deserve. You already asked for suggestions, how to clear the situation with you still receiving some part of the bitcoins.
How about you try to contact pirate, and find out if it would still help to send him the account data? If we would get in the line, although the first deadline was passed, we have a startingpoint.
a) You send the account data, with x % substracted from every account, and all those % accumulated to one of your addresses b) You ask for y % of bitcoins being paid by us now, held in escrow, and being re-calculated in case pirate doesn't pay fully c) You ask for z % of bitcoins being paid by us now
with z < y < x
And no, I don't expect it to be easy to contact pirate. And no, I don't expect to receive much, if anything at all. This is just what I see as a point to get moving again.

So, the conference is over, and nothing qualified as "major announcement"? ..or are you all silent until you transferred all pension and kids college funds to the exchanges..? :-p

Will you two cut it off already? I understand there is little news in this thread. Still, please find the solution for a perfect society in PMs or in OT. Thank you.

Yes, he would get away, and I would be one of the guys laughing and congratulating him on this troll. And yes, I am in on this bet.

There is a reason Matthew didn't accept deposits for the wager...and offered a non-monetary penalty for those who didn't pay...
I think he is teaching us a lesson in greed and stupidity...a lesson sorely needed in this community...it would make a great Bitcoin magazine article as a follow up to the article on the pirate scandal.
Yep. I couldn't come up with any other hypothesis which would make more sense.. But then, I would prefer him to get 10 to 30k BTC out of this to finance some crazy stuff :-) Ente

My guess is Matthew is going to use his winnings to help pirate pay back his investors
I think you messed up the order in which the things will happen.. ;-) Ente

[..] (no bets for that though) [..]
Seems like people already learn from Matthew calling them out? And are more careful before shouting 'scam', "I hav proov" and 'I bet'. (Not meaning you personally, C-f-B) Ente

*endless-speculation*
Look, I'm tired of this thread popping up under "Show unread posts since last visit" so I'm going to put an end to it. This address is mine. ...or soon will be: Bwahahahahahah!!!1! Seriously, though, what would you do if it suddenly churns out the priv key? You have to learn to re-school mathematics .. It's impossible (slowly) Do not waste your time for nothing. Don't listen to him! He secretly is searching for the privkey too now, and wants to reduce your headstart! Ente

I had the website up earlier, now it seems to be down again. Going to recontact HostGator in a sec. Let this post also serve as a bump, for I'm currently seeking feedback for/on Watsi.com. See the couple posts above to get up to speed, along with the thread of which I'm going to bump prior to contacting HostGator, then afterward I plan on populating that same thread with a little more content. Humor me by posting something on either of these two threads, or I'll post the link I found where Satoshi supposedly wears Genjix's clothes from said closet. ~Bruno~ What is Watsi? Watsi is an online peer-to-peer crowdfunding platform that allows users to fund life-changing medical treatments for underserved people in developing countries. Watsi is incorporated as a Public Benefit Corporation in California and is currently in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS. I like to help them, definitely. +1 "we can't cancel the whole bitcoin100 thing now!" +1 bump +1 Satoshi in Genjix's clothes Oh, does that prove Satoshi is in fact female? Ente

I think someone stated that someone here was pretty close with his guess. I won't read it up, actually I don't want to know it before it gets announced. I will rather follow all your guesses.
When I get a present, I hold it in my hands, shake it a bit, value its weight and all that stuff. If I wanted to know what's inside, I would just open it up right away. :-)

If Matthew used a bet-chain where the lowest bet covered the next lowest bet in the chain as follows:
1000 2000 4000 8000 16000 32000 64000 128000
then by proving he had 1000 btc he would eventually be able win all bets (assuming all bettors paid up). He could start even lower if he didn't have 1000 btc.
I think these bets are a blatant attempt to use logic to earn money, something which rarely happens outside of sci fi movies and should not be condoned.
Greatest. Post. In a long time! You show the beauty in math and statistics, thank you for that! Ente

Hello,
I buy your Pirateat40 account. Pass-through-accounts are possible too, but a direct Pirateat40 account is preferred. I pay 30% of its value, and am looking to "invest" 100 to 200 BTC. That means you have a 300 to 600 BTC balance.
Would you have liked to cash out 4 months ago? This is your chance to secure at least a part of your funds!
Cheers,
Ente
