On the topic of testing... anyone currently using it? Any problems with it? It's mostly small updates, so I don't expect a lot to go wrong with it. But I still need some feedback to know for sure.
I would like to test dev releases. I am a bit vary about using the dev branch of a beta software on funds, though.. What would you, generally, suggest as a good way to handle this? Of course I have external backups of the wallet files. Ente |

Has anyone given thought to a web-based armory client?
For security reasons it would only handle watch-only wallets and you'd still have to sign transactions on a desktop client. Or it could be a full implementation, at the cost of security but there'd be no need for syncing.
An ideal scenario would be a service where I import a watch only copy of my wallet, from there I can view my wallet as I would an online desktop wallet and generate offline transactions.
The bottom line is that this would be the ultimate e-wallet solution, coupled with an android/iOS offline-only armory app for signing transactions. It would offer both security (no need to trust host with your keys) and comfort (no need to sync the blockchain)
Do you mean a webserver running on the machine with the regular armory client, which provides a html frontend to the internet? I like this, I like this a lot! Security? Do it with certificates, maybe even require a textmessage to do a transaction? I didn't really think of this yet.. But now, hell, this is the one-in-all solution for everyday bitcoin handling! Everything in one [armory] spot, reachable from every device, secure, local, and with all the armory goodies like offline tx, paperbackups etc! This solves all pains I have, from trusting external servers, to centralized gox, to trusting your ability to not lose your mobile, to have enough funds on all of those devices and keeping track of all that mess! Lets see, from the FAQ ( https://vanitypool.appspot.com/faq): L = 2^32 * (b/c) MR = L * (d/r) * (k/m) = 2^32 * (b/c) * (d/r) * (k/m) k/m was taken as 0.06 from the hardware page ( https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Vanity_mining_hardware_comparison). Difficulty is currently about 3300000, reward is 25. Total lavishness is 0.00029 . We can calculate that: MR = 0.00029 * 3300000 / 25 * 0.06 = 2.2968 With your setup the k/m is 25.29 Mkey/s / 660Mh/s ~~ 0.038 . This gives a mining ratio of 1.45 . A bit less, but still more profitable than block mining. On the flip side, there is a higher variance mining for keys, as the website does not work like a pool with shares. ..which means if all submitted work was signed by the same key, i.e. same person, and I would work on all work "parallel", I would have a mining ratio of 1.45? With just one single task at a time, as it seems I am working on, I have the much lower ratio I saw? Ente |

Hmm, that is strange, does this mean my certificate would expire? This would be kind of hard, since my website is hosted through Google and their certificate.
I'm afraid I can't really help you there, I don't know much about the problem you are experiencing.

I'm here! I haven't tried this but maybe you need the cacert root certitificate to validate. You can get it here: http://www.cacert.org/index.php?id=3You'd have to add it to your certificate authorities. I'm jsut taking a poke in the dark and I've had too much wine. Why don't they get a startssl.com cert (free!!) as that would be recognized by everyone. Edit: oh , looks like it's expired. That's a whole diff problem. Maybe you can turn off cert authentication. Otherwise you'll have to wait for them to renew it. f*k, can't even type straight. Thank you for your hard efforts! ;-) Yes, seems like I can't do much here. I try to connect via samr7's oclvanityminer on windows. I use https://github.com/downloads/samr7/vanitygen/vanitygen-0.22-win.zip for this. I get this verbose error: * About to connect() to vanitypool.appspot.com port 443 (#0)

I have v2.4 installed to /opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx32/ on my BAMT install. Then from the folder where I have vanitygen (/opt/miners/vanitygen), I did `ln -s /opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx32/include/CL/` There's probably some flag you could use instead, but this was easy. Das war doch schon lange abzusehen, dass eine höhere Inflation kommt.
Die Politiker und Bank sind doch viel zu raffgierig um echte Lösungen der Schulden- und Bankenkrise in die Wege zu leiten.
Durch eine höhere Inflation lösen sich die Schulden irgendwann in Luft auf und die Ersparnisse und Renten der Bürger ebenfalls....
Na aber sicher doch! Nur, dass es groß und unverholen angekündigt wird ist neu.. :-) Ente |
