AC is a waste of electricity unless you have  free power, your exhuast fans need to be ABOVE your rigs not in at the same level and you  also need to make sure your room is somewhat presurerized

you can tell this by when you open the doors you feel the suction of the exhaust fans pulling heat up.

I have 30 rigs in my garage with only 1 of six exhasut fans going and my temps are like 30 degreees in winter, fall with three fans going like 60

semantics..... lol.  But yes;  exhaust at high in the ceiling as possible, and more is better.  Just keep adequate inlet CFM as well, and away from the discharge zone.... ideally, in from one side/bottom of room, out the opposite ceiling; and a few fans to keep the rest of the air in the room turbulent.

AC usually doubles or more the electric cost.  Its a pretty astronomical number.

Man you must have way more free time on your hands than I ever will bro

What really sweetens the deal is when you get $25 deposited in your paypal for spending $350+ at newegg.  Been buying 1 Vega every few days at $399.
You just have to signup on retailmenot with the same paypal email address you use for newegg.
https://www.retailmenot.com/view/newegg.com?c=9293714

damn i wish i had a paypal account still :*

to be fair though that $25 applies to every purchase right ? I dont even have a paypal anymore they suspended me for selling bitcoins on Paxful

so I'm done with them
1744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 09, 2017, 10:16:20 PM

Im still confused as to why you order a 1070ti over a vega 56, 2000 cryptonigh 150watt
520 equihash (not tested power usage) and 40 eth 140 watt. at $399 and its the jack of all trades

the only issue i have with it is u need so many power connectors and drivers are anoying to install

either way ive been buying two or three a week, best mining card hands down,

are the 1070tis that power efficeint as to ignore all these facts?

1070 ti pulls around 450 sol/s equihash (using EWBF in my testing, 500 using DTMF per Voskcoin's testing video that borrowed my settings) at 106 watts for almost identical price to the Vega 56.
I ignore them on Monero, as they make a LOT more on ZEC/ZCL/ZEN and such like most NVidia cards do.

RX 470/480/570/580s routinely pull 26-30 MHash on ETH at HALF THE PRICE of a Vega 56 at current pricing, and the pricing on the 470/570/480/580 should continue to DROP over time as demand keeps easing.

Vega 56 is pretty much a one-trick pony on Monero at this time for cost and efficient cryptocoin mining, based on the info I've seen.

Only reason I like mine is that it's not doing "cryptocoin mining" as such, it's doing Distributed.Net RC5-72 work via the Moo Wrapper project on BOINC, and for DNet work the Vega 56 is bloody close to GTX 1080 ti performance for a lot lower cost and similar power draw.

Also, that $399 price on Vega seems to have been a very short term sale price - it's back up to $460 ballpark again.

I like cards that can do multuple things well though, my farms not that big so I like the flexibility.  Rx cards are really only good at Eth so I am not buying any more of those unless prices drop to sub 230 for 8GB cards

The 1070Tis are crap at eth,  I dont see how the 56 is a one trick pony when it hits high hash rates on pretty much every algo it is used on , sorry but you are not making sense lol.

not sure where you get your info from but Vegas are still ~ 400 pretty much every where still

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814932001

Only nvidai cards i like really is the 1070 still but i bought my 50 1070s at around $350 which is the cards true price not the 440 the good ones sell at.
The 1070 is 10% slower than the 1070Ti and you can find them pretty much at around the same price.

Bottom lime in my opinion Nvidia prices are broken even more than the RX cards

the 1070 shold be around $360
the 1070Ti should be around 400-420

dont get me started on the 1080Ti ,

all that being said the Vega 56 with a 64 vega bios for ~400 is the best bang per buck by a long shot , It can mine anything at high rates and with decent power tuning uses only around 150 -160 watts

Hi Guys,

I have a weird question. I know this has been talked over the tread but it is little different. Here is my setup.

I have about 50 rigs in a warehouse. I am having excessive heat problem right now. Ambient temperature is ~90F in the room if I put all the rigs up.

There is a 5 ton Industrial type AC system at the top. Also, 1 exhaust motor on the wall which sucks the heated air.

I am not sure what solution I should go. I've talked HVAC guy and he suggested a load calculation for the room (2000SF). When I do math, it goes 12 ton AC unit required for this project.

I am wondering that adding exhaust fan makes any difference on top of the current setup? Please advise.

if BTG takes off solid  we could see a boost on nvidia card prices.

Simple logic dictates it.

I will be making a move to get the Zotac 1070ti MINI (110watts, 200core, 700mem, 500sols, DSTM miner) before prices go crazy.

I ordered 4 evga 1070 ti hybrid

Update:

I checked it fluently.

- EXE / DLL Checksum is different (so it is recompiled).
- 0x2515c3F8858052B5978520ff9D0A910a7Ac5C6c2 wallet inside DLL at 00210D18 address (you can check in WinHex). So it is most likely redirecting (stealing) to this wallet.

Beware!

1749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: November 09, 2017, 09:37:45 AM
Sorry for my stupid question, I know only GPU mining, mostly ETH.

When I enter the data for the Baikal X10 into the cryptocompare mining calculator for Dash, it gives me only a profit of 28.47$ per month. I guess in reality it is higher. What am I doing wrong?

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/dash?HashingPower=10000&HashingUnit=MH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=800&CostPerkWh=0.17

For X11 it is as Dash market is down now

so a D3 only makes around $150 a month now wow what a disaster

Okay the second board came today.  I dropped an i5 7500t in it and a 16g sodimm ddr4 stick of cruical ram

this board cost me more . about 200 for the sample.

the good :

 on off button
no cpu 8 or 4 pin
no 24 pin

8x 6 pin pcie in

the photo i  have is wrong  so  I have to try to take a photo.

give me a bit of time.

this new board is 100 % server friendly
I need to figure what he sent to me as it does not match to photo above.

it is better not worse.

Do I understand correctly that the only power this motherboard needs is provided by the PCIE ports?  That would be pretty darned sweet indeed.

All pcie in. No cpu four or eight pin.

No 24 pin. Eight six pin pcie in.  I am using the 2400watt delta running five gpus.

Let me take a photo

Man that sounds nice.

link to where u purchased it?

BA units burned down (see the rackmount, model 3 i think) and SP lost the price war on the sp20/s5, business is business and only te strong survive Smiley
yeah i know but if they knew that btc would hit these numbers I bet they would never have capitulated

ba units at the end were rushed out since they were so late , The ic design was solid

1754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BTG minig Starts Sunday live 7 PM UTC on: November 08, 2017, 10:59:18 AM
According to http://pool.gold/

BTG official network is expected to start on Nov 12 2017, 7 PM UTC. The current mining ports and accounts will be automatically transferred from testnet to main net mining.

My Start time in the US 2 pm  EST.......

Thanks for info! Should check pools from the 11th November evening. But previous year situation with ZEC start could be repeated when the best choise was to mine Equihash on Nicehash due to most of then Equihash pools had detained withdrawals

You are absolutely right. Nicehash is the best choice in this situation.

You can't really compare the two as ZEC had no supply when it started. BTG has alot of supply so don't expect much. And with auto switchers now and a settled algorithm, the scenario is totally different. I would use electroneum as a use case if i where you but that could be wrong also.
so no one has convinced me yet, what pool
?

nicehash or suprnova , ive had good exp with suprnova

1757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: November 07, 2017, 07:16:27 PM
Who mentioned that the difficulty will not go over 50 million?
It's at 52 right now!
i did but i also mentioned -+2 mil so it's stays in same area, and it was "testing" of last batches before shipment.

lets hope that i'm right
Cheesy

Yes I hope your right.
The difficulty is jumping all over the place, now its down from 52 to 33, but the DASH price is going up.
Maybe there is some hope?
Where do you guys get these numbers?!?!?! The DASH difficulty is at 25 million. It's never been above that! Do you not realize that these online calculators temporarily display glitches and aberrations? 50 Million?!?!?!?! LMAO!!
yes it is now but when bitmain ships new units they "test" for few minutes or an hour and that's how we get those number, little spikes in difficulty means that bitmain is testing and it will be next difficulty Smiley

but it's last batch

Its not the last batch. I recieved sending confirmation per email to day. I orderd 2 times in the batch delevery 24 - 30 november.

This is first order confirmation, think i will recieve tommorow confirmation of second order. Novermber batch 24 - 30 is the biggest. After this batch then is the last batch of early december deleviries (maybe also early delivery). That will be the last one as far as i know. So think it will end at 60 to 70 mill network  Shocked

I dont get it i have 6 s9 and 4d3 all for nov 20 batches , both orders say paid valid but still no shiping
or email confirmation and now nov 24 to 30 batch is shipping? Shame on u bitmain

well, at the very least it's free heat, or at least very cheap heat.

find the optimism in difficult situations. It's there, you just have to find it.

I have 5 coming late november, and i plan to run them until they burst into flames.

best option really
1760  Bitcoin / Hardware / I was just thinking , I bet black arrow and sp-tech are kicking themselves now on: November 07, 2017, 08:39:17 AM
both these companies were relevant when btc was trading around $150 to $300

Black arrow had a decent model and miner at the time but they chose to seek quick profits via scam and non delivery
late shipments, mining with customer gear and totally killed thier rep.

Imagine if they could have stayed alive , all thier shipments were based on pre orders, they could have kept
increasing thier tech with prefunded $$ and made hundreds of millons mining and selling gear smh.

Sp tech is even worse, had a great product but was unwilling to compete with bitmain even though they had a. loyal following.  They must have had shit accountants cuz if they could have kept shipping miners for a few more years they would probably have been major players with thier great rnd and software.
but they chose to sell out to big cloud companies and eventually that dried up for them too smh
