I want to get a few 1070s. Any advice on where to buy (newegg ? ) and which 1070 is the "best "?

Wind force or gtx 1070 Sc gaming ?

Many of us here have EVGA and Zotac ~ esp for NVIDIA rigs

The ones that I have a lot in my farm is the Zotac 1070 Mini - how I wished I bought more before the price hike.

On another note:

My supplier just sent me 3 x units of the "COLORFUL Mining Motherboard 8 Graphics Cards LGA1151 Colorful C.B250A-BTC"

These were hard to get previously. Still expensive (228$) compared to the other generic boards - but Colorful is a legit big name China brand.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/COLORFUL-Mining-Motherboard-8-Graphics-Cards-LGA1151-Colorful-C-B250A-BTC-PLUS-BTC-ETH-Blackchain-Antminer/32834821844.html

Man thats a dream board but $228 with no samples out in the wild tested I'll pass

I just spent 3k on 2 more baikal X10s via wire transfer so Im tapped out for a while

My China contact say, the board is sold out everywhere in China/HK.

Btw, once you get the X10, share us the review on the Skein algo.

Baikal did work with me previously on the early X series but it was too expensive coming into a saturated X11 mining.

The Myriad-GRS and Skein algo addition will be a key differentiator ... one X10 is probably equal to 100 x 1080tis on Skein algo !

yeah I;m already saddled with 6 D3 so I know X11 is dead for now , I got the baikal for the skien and  Myriad-GRS, I have had good luck with Baikal in the past with
purchased of the min 300mhs miners , they work great on nicehash and multipools better than any other miner I have ever had so I figured these will be a good buy

I'll keep you posted if they are any good.

anyone have a good way on windows 10 to restart the miner if after the reboot.bat script runs ?

There is a good description on how to get any programme to startup with windows, including Claymore, at link below. This is how I get Claymore to re-start if Windows crashes.

https://www.howtogeek.com/208224/how-to-add-programs-files-and-folders-to-system-startup-in-windows-8.1/

Oh i know of the shell startup method, I used it in the past but is seems to load too fast sometimes
1783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 04, 2017, 01:50:26 AM
What do you guys mine now-adays?

I check What to mine a few times each day and manually switch if the coin or algo I've been on hasn't kept pace.
Last night , I switched my AMD and nVidia rigs from mining ETH and ZEC respectively to NiceHash Cryptonight. They've been on there for 24 hrs.

Cryptonite on NH is profitable, with even less power consumption - that's additional bonus.

However, in preparation of BTG mining, all of my NVIDIA rigs are currently ZEC on NH.

And I am still tweaking the AMD farm to squeeze the best optimized equihash for BTG.

BTG mining has started on the Testnet... futures pricing for BTG is around 120$ per coin.

yeah same here my body is ready for BTG, it could save 2017 for me if its at least twice as profitable as eth mining as well, plus another nice algo to mine
sends a big Fu to the eth devs and their 5-3 reward scam.  Only problem is if the eth hash rates drop far enough it gets profitable again and they get to keep their
code secure.

I suspect AMD is still going to be more efficent dual mining eth/lbr than mining BTCG since alot of Nvidia rigs that are doing Eth is turn to BTG
only thing I'm doing with my AMD rigs is setting them up with the nicehash miner for now so if profits are good on Eqihash for AMD I can at least mine
via nicehash.

Thank you very much for your comments.

Another electrician came out today and gave me a quote to run a second 200 amp breaker in parallel to the one I have currently and install a surge protector for less than five thousand usd.

I am looking at some rental warehouses in my area with decent security at approximately $900 a month. My concern is getting locked into a year long lease and then the difficulty skyrockets, but might have to bite the bullet.

I've spoken to some data centers in the area and the only one that got back to me wanted $2,000 a month!

Yeah i had an electricain upgrade my house from 125 amp to 200 amp for like $1k  as a weekend side job

dint have to pull a permit he said if anyone asks say you did it yorueslf home owners dont have to pull a permit in that case.

I found him on craiglist if thats any help.

17k for 400 amp service its nuts, rule of thumb is it is about 5k or so per 2000 amp, so a fairer cost would have been $5k

Or do I add some more rx cards ? I have 3 rigs running 14 cards ATM. Don't know if I should build 1-2 more rx rigs or one rig of 1070s? Any advice ?

buy a mobo from me  and do a rig of 1070's

I ordered 10 mobo's

here is the invoice  142.37 each  shipped to me in NJ,USA

SO far  1 to:

spotswood
crazydane
some one else I forgot.

1 for me

so 6 available limit 2

USA shipping  and a small mark up.  say 150 + shipping

no funds due till I get them

I might be interested in one or two , my main question is how do you power all those cards from the MB
with only one ATX connector, I use server power supplies now so I dont have a bunch of the sata or 5 pin power connectors like you would have on an ATX PSU

even the ATX supply i tent to use Picos as well
1788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 02, 2017, 08:41:00 AM
For now, rig is still stable for 22h and all 9 cards mining.
If its hold another 22h I started to thinking that the main issue is card/riser inside 16x slot... I had gen1 on all slots...
Gpu is 905 and mem 900. On the wall is about 1350W for whole system...
Each card gives 2kh/s ? 9x Vega=18khs?

Hi,
No, it gives around 1,25 per card, because I did not find option in wattman for switching to compute mode.
For now its stable more than 33h.
I think that main problem with unstabillity was that 16x slot on mobo...
fuck me i bought 3 at 469 too fuck u newegg
1789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Many AMD GPU's available. Are you still buying? on: November 01, 2017, 11:27:23 PM
I notice that many AMD Gpu's are available for regular price now.  Are you guys still buying rigs? Or is it at a point where it's not very wise to build more rigs?
Hi, my thinking it's way with nVidia cards only,
The reasons:
1. Lower voltage.
2. Better cooling systems.
3. Better to overclocking.
4. The price not so much upper.

Right now on the ~500mhs it's 2.5eth per month,
15 GPU's of Nvidia 1060 6GB - around 355 mhs and the price for cards was ~4500 euros + ~2000 euros for PSU's and others.
5 GPU's of AMD Cards - 138 mhs - the price was ~1500 euros + ~700 euros for PSU's and others
Total:8700euro
Per month:644,625 euros
Electricity: 100euros
Placement: 80euros
Total profit:464,62euro
So right now it's not so profitable to build new rigs, actually payback of GPUs around 13-18 monthes. (And it's with low voltage cards. With Red i think it will up to 20-24 month)

what you are failing to factor in is the 580s are beasts at dual mining , if you have adequate cooling a good 580 can do 30mhs eth and 95 lbr for 150 watt

that 95 lbry is basically nearly 3 times what i can get out of a 1070, and the crazy thing is 95 lbr is bascially close to what you get solo mining lbry on a 580 anyways so you are truly truly dual mining.

me im still buying 580s 8gb at $300 but only certain brands that are easiest to mod and have consistent mem quality

here we go, USD9.00 per day today...
when all miner comes on board, we will see 3-4$ or less

RIP D3

OMG stfu wah wah wah it's still money you do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR no carrying heavy items (breaking your back) no answering emails etc. etc. go cry about it elsewhere....

It's not free money, the problem is the return on investment. We spent close to 2000$ us to get the machines (with shipping and duty). If the machine doesn't break, who knows when we'll get our money back? If the machine break, we're fudged. Also, after we've paid, it usually takes 1-2 months before we can get the machines.

I only paid $1400 for the nov 21 batch, 1 yea roi lol assumining they last that long

thank god i also grabbed six s9s at the $1300 price too

S9 is still very profitable, sometimes more than L3+

With 10,000$ in sight for 2018, Bitmain will , as usual churn out more S9

yeah thats the only problem Bitmain keeps churning out S9s like hotcakes to thier private buyers

Great! Thanks. So I will give it a try. Hope it will work well. By the way, which DCR pool have you been using? And are you using ethOS?

use yiimp pool
its better than the rest
in other pool you have to hit a threshold amount like 1 dcr to receive the amount
but not with yiimp

lbry is better than both by far

1794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Crimson Relive Win 10 Drivers Now Support 12 AMD GPU's with Compute Workloads on: October 27, 2017, 01:26:29 PM

So you can OC memory with Overdriventool? Someone says that it's not working. Is GPU-Z showing those memory clocks? HWinfo64 not always show the right info, but I only had problem with showing voltages there.
Are you using 0.2.0? There is newer version 0.2.1.

Yes, I had version 0.2.0 installed and running with blockchain drivers (23aug).
Just did the DDU, installed new driver (complete suite due to needed workload (compute) change using GUI) .. patched, restarted, changed Workload to compute for all GPU, retarted again ..
OC/UV profile from OverdriveNTool are started automatically (via batch file) when the Windows starts

As I said previously, no performance drop, all working just fine with 8 cards..
Going to play with it tonigh and will try to make 12 or 13 cards works on AsRock H110

PS: Also, will try to setup compute workload using regedit.. I've been suggested a solution so no AMD GUI will be needed if that works

i did the same as you however i cant change mem clocks after the install, by any means , wattool, overdrive tool or ab
any ideas? this is on two 10 gpu rigs all a mix of 480, 570 and 580
1795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: October 27, 2017, 09:37:09 AM
@Searing - Yeah 12cents / kw and above is never fun.

@Citronick - I'm not sure what the concern is.  D3 cost less than L3 during launch.  $1450 vs 2400.  Only recently did the price of L3 drop below 2k.  My L3 that I bought in May / July more than paid for themselves so yeah they're great investments and paid for the D3.  I have no concerns on the D3.  Remember when the S7 and S9 came out, they were so powerful that they killed difficulty for at least a few months before it properly adjust.  The D3 is many more times as the most powerful Baikal miners so it's expected the shock would be much worst but it will recover.  The current batch does 18-20GH vs advertised 15GH so it's doing well above $15/day.  Should be no issues ROI and then free money.  L3 are roughly in the same range 15-17/day but of course at much less wattage and noise.   I still see D3 as being a good powerful house for a while.

@ Scrappy Do - It's not always that simple.  Most residential house including mine actually have 125AMP not 200AMP so you're actually lucky to start off with 200AMP.  Even 3000SF homes in TX can have 125AMP services.  It's also not true that commercial rates is higher than residential.  IT all depends on the area.  Commercial TDU or energy charges are much less than residential so say you have 5 cents a kw in Texas, your TDU charges are almost another 4cents per kw in additional making it 9 cents.  Whereas commercial depends on your provider and usage and can be less than 1.5 cents for TDU so for the same place, commercial is much cheaper.   You can also lock in for 3years with commerical.  My home have a residential and commercial meter.  The commercial is much cheaper rate due to lower TDU.   Also there are much more restriction on power and noise at home then commercial including the max your transformer can support, single phase residential vs 3 phase commercial.  3 Phase will give you a lot more wattage for the same amperage used, bar none the most important thing u want to have if you want to scale.   There are pros and cons to both residential and commercial when it comes to cost but if you're going to go big, it makes 100% sense to do commercial vs many home sites due to lower energy cost, better insurance coverage, tax purposes and safety, etc.

P.S You don't need 1 phase to 3 phase connectors.  You can load balance the phases at the breaker level and use single phase PDU so cost is not really a factor but you can support a whole lot more rigs with the same amperage.

I can attest to comercial tda rates being around 50 percent of what i paid for residential , its much cheaper here too

3phase is great an all but not available in most residental zoned areas, you can still get large amps in single phase setups but it will cost you three times as much.

confirmed the wind 10 64 bit new drivers work for 10+ cards

I have a 10 GPU rig running now, what I did find is uninstalling afterburner first helps

also with so many GPU it would also sometimes hang on when u run claymore, I fixed this by using -gser 2 option

It still hangs when i try and dual mine so I need to do more tweaking.

ALso AMD settings and MSI after burner do not play nice togther, I decided to roll with wattman since I cannot set the voltages on this mortherboard

the ASUS 16 Slot one with MSI AB
Which GPU that you use on your rig?
pure AMD GPU  or mix with nvidia?

No all Rx570 and 470 mix , no nividia cards

Are you saying actually that you're running 10 AMD cards on WinX with "amd latest driver" - is this correct?
And if so what rates are you getting on ethash with this driver?

12 cards actually, just added two more this AM. and Yes thats correct.
hash rates are the same as block chain driver, the kicker is my systems are way more stable with this new driver

I had one rig of six R9 nano I upgraded to this new driver with modded evilop bios that used to crash one a day, its been two days with the new driver and its rock solid.

I also have not yet seen the issue i had before with the robin hood and beta blockchain driver where I would see hashrate of 8.33 or some crap sometimes, but its still
early.

Only issue with the new drivers is they can be hard to install, sometimes taking multiple DDU cleanings to install, and I HAD to remoVE AB.

I might install it back , becase wattman is crap

that's interesting. is that a win update, or just driver? you should try to use overdriventool for clocks and volts, it's better then claymore - as you can set proper stages as well.
also AB is known to have nasty issues

the image I use for win 10 includes the anniversery update , so I think you do need that update
one new problem ,

on the last two rigs i updated to the new driver wont let me change the mem or core clocks using
any tool

wattman , overdriven tool or ab nothing works, it immediatle goes back or with
overdriven tool does not change

the core voltage says .91-.96 in GPUZ , you were getting lower voltages ? I have the same drivers as you.

Also on two cards only half the red lights are lit up but on the other one all the lights are lit up ? wtf ?
