Okey, i'm going to start with 10x S1 Antminers for 1000USD and buy the upgrade kit as soon as possible.
Starting to build My mining rig inside a 5x5 meters industrial freezer with ventilation, that should keep the cooling on a steady level

Why not start with 10 S3 Antminers? No need to hassle with the upgrade kits afterwards.

LTC was built in order to be an "ASIC resistant" coin. This is important because a coin that can be mined on commodity hardware (CPUs, GPUs and even FPGAs) is inherently more resistant to centralization.

This is wrong on so many levels. What stops people to have big DCs rooms filled with PCs and FPGAs? Absolutely nothing. Maybe the lack of money, but it's still doable. And while you seem to have a decentralize mining you lose a lot more on security because the network is very vulnerable when the total power is low.

Is there any protection for customer who put money on bitfinex?

What customer protection? People are bashing and hating the BitLicense every day!

Scrypt ASIC Tape-out

Anyone have price, speed?

You can't be serious.

I was about to post the same thing, but you were faster. wmmail07 you really want to do business with BA after the bitcoin fiasco?
1785  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 22, 2014, 05:02:38 AM
Yeah, I just hope FC is piling up on freshly minted coins, pays off the initial costs and electricity bills and then surprises us (and Spondoolies) with a nice and fresh dividend!

The shareholders will be that one that will be surprised Smiley

You got it all wrong. Spondoolies isn't the enemy. Bitfury is!
1786  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: August 22, 2014, 05:01:15 AM
I genuinely see ActM as a failed business and not a scam.  Also I don't believe that businesses can start out with genuine intentions and then become scams.  I think successful scams are well planned from the outset and well executed buy people who are very talented.  Sound like Ken?

Answer this;  Why didn't Ken run with the initial funds raised in the IPO?  Why did he pay $1,000,000 to eASIC if he could have simply pocketed the money?  Why was he transparent enough to publicize his identity, business and home addresses, phone numbers and all the other details which meant he could never run away with the stash?

@lobbes - you're making valid points and it is absolutely clear that potential investors should be wary from investing in this space.  But for more than just the reasons that you are citing.  You see 'noobs' like yourself, as you put it, find it much easier to blame fellow noobs by mislabeling them as shills because it's easier for some to imagine a dark conspiracy rather than a boring old fashioned failed business.  You, and potential investors should realize that investing in verey high reward tech companies is also very high risk.  That is, less than 10% of businesses will succeed.  This is why I'm not acting as butt hurt as some of you.  Because I jumped with both feet BECAUSE it was being labelled as a scam in the very early days.  You don't make money by buying shares high then selling low.

The reality is, Ken wasn't a good business man and he failed.  He failed himself, his family and all of us.  Simple.  He won't be going to prison for failing as that is not a crime, however he's going to be asked to part with what money he might  have left and that's where some of you might finally find solace.

Don't invest more than you can afford to lose.  It seems that most ActM investors made that very mistake.  Those that didn't are well gone.

You are really stupid, but what can I expect from someone who paid 10k pounds just to delete some forum posts. Ken didn't run with the initial funds because if he did it then he would have to stay on the run his whole life. But by doing what he did he gets away with money, mining machines and he has a clean record.

As for the 1M paid to eASIC how can you believe that? Did you actually saw the transfer? Or any signed documents besides the NDA? I don't think so. A long con is much more efficient than a plain and simple scam of running with money. You as a shareholder didn't saw a single document that proved that Ken really tried to create 2-3 ASIC chips. YOU SAW NOTHING, but you still believe that this wasn't a scam. Amaizing! What about the recovered money from eASIC? I haven't heard anything about that. Why is it so hard to ask for some proofs?
1787  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: August 22, 2014, 04:56:22 AM
Well, as far as i know there is only this:

Update

1. Due to the relatively lower interest from individual miners as well as OEM producers, the self mining has re-started from middle of July. We had gain access of cheap electricity and high power capacity. We hope to regain the average hashrate percentage similar to 2013 with this generation of chips.

If FC is mining since middle of July when do you estimate that he will share the hashrate?
1788  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can Miner Generate Vanity Address? on: August 22, 2014, 03:34:40 AM
Yes it is available here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25804.0

No longer advised to use vanity addresses other than to receive funds and the quickly transfer them to another address due to security issues.

Why? What's the risk?
1789  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 21, 2014, 09:04:49 PM
You can twist reality to fit your rhetoric as much as you want but it won't give the SP30 a better chance at ROI, only a ~$1500 refund or free ~2TH will.

My math shows me around half those numbers.
1790  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have My own power source. Should i mine? on: August 21, 2014, 08:19:12 PM
Hello! I have My own power source (solar and wind) should I start mining?
And if so what should my first purchase be?

How much "free" power are you generating? I see that nobody asked you about your power circuit capacity which is strange.

Enough to power more then 1000 Antminer S1 Smiley

Then start building yourself a room where you can have some kind of wind tunnel to evacuate the air as fast as possible with some big ass vents and start mining!

when this thing stop? i mean it can not go up forever, it seems just a battle who control more hash now, distigusting

It will never stop!
1792  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 21, 2014, 08:12:07 PM
Seems like a BFL/KNC move that would cause an outrage.

With what money will their customers spend on next gen hardware when they will not ROI with their current sp30's?

I haven't put any money out of my pocket this year yet I have acquired numerous miners and I plan to buy more. It's also true that I have only cashed out around 60% of my initial investment, but I can cover the rest at any time with bitcoins. I am sure that the SP30s will help me keep acquiring more hashpower without any fiat payments from me.

They are bleeding for money!  They will be gone soon.  So many useless parts since they can't build a miner that they are hawking them onto everyone else.  Don't buy that shit!  Even if it is a little more expensive, go with their competitors.  Help put a nail in BA's coffin and stick in the ground where they deserve to go.

Hard to get rid of parts when you can't build a working miner I suppose.

I have to agree. Go with the competitors!

Another dump of 60 shares on Havelock.
I don't get it...

You have me on ignore, but I don't care. Dividends are still far away and they won't be very impressive so that's why smart people are moving on instead of sinking with the ship.
1796  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Spondooles SP30 & SP31 on: August 21, 2014, 01:52:21 PM
I just ordered two SP31's that will provide 5.5TH/s per device.    11TH/s total.   Think these things will be totally obsolete in the next 6-8 months?

Grats on your order!

As much as I also want divs and a hashrate-meter... I believe information is held back to not disclose anything to the competition.

Or because FC has a small weener aka hashrate.

Could you post a link to jtoomim website, please?
I'd like to find out more info

Check the link in my signature.

Perhaps you just are not technically competent to run 12 of something as simple as the S3 Smiley (I couldn't resist)... Seriously both pieces of hardware are solid and arguing this aspect of the conversation is silly..

Having an 100% uptime has nothing to do with setting them up, but I am sure that you feel better now that you took this out of your system.

So you didn't deliver 30 orders in 2 weeks? Srsly?

It was stated that the 50 orders between the delivered order and the GB orders have a lot of units ordered. They have delivered a lot of units in these 2 weeks.
