Would you post here public what your merits are, or your colletaral, or your online established identity and show what you are doing now?

This isn't about me, but I have nothing to hide and I could never find myself wanting to prove myself publicly by looking for someone as you say "trusted" to verify you as a "good person" by revealing some things about yourself privately. I honestly don't care where you're from or what you've been doing in the past, it's not recommended to write about such things on the forum anyway, at least if you care about privacy.

[Fun Fact] Is Gold scarce ? Bitcoin is !

I would call this more "low value topic" considering that on the topic of Bitcoin - Gold there are hundreds of topics and I really do not think that anything useful can be said more. Besides, there is no point in hypothesizing what would happen if a large asteroid hit the earth because then all the gold and all Bitcoin, among other things, would become completely irrelevant and worthless.

According to some estimates, in about fifty years gold mining outside our planet will become profitable. Have you heard of Psyche 16? It's an asteroid that supposedly has $10 000 quadrillion worth of gold in it, if anyone can even imagine that number Roll Eyes

Some trusted figure here on the forum can talk to me. I have questions, and I have something to offer. Just listen and draw your conclusions.

What you seek does not really make sense, because if you have good and legitimate intentions, I don't see why it should be resolved through private messages and why should anyone say publicly that you are a good person? It seems to me that your old account hides some negativity because you did some things that were not in accordance with the rules of the forum, and now you're looking for a way to fix it somehow.

The rules of the forum are clear and not secret so you can read them, as well as any other recommendations for using the forum.
1784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost coins redistribution on: June 24, 2023, 02:48:13 PM
Yes I was going to say this. The idea that like 4 million bitcoin are lost is clearly not true. From what I've always seen the calculation involves, as you say Lucius, assuming any bitcoin that hasn't moved in something like 10+ years is lost. But this is obviously not the case, as every few weeks someone moves some Bitcoin from 2010/2011/2012.

This speculation of 4 million lost BTC actually came from the fact that someone calculated it based on a time period of only 4 years if I remember correctly - and I also found a topic from that time (2017), although the source (article) does not exist.

Around 4 Million Bitcoins lost forever!!

Heck, Tim Draper bought something like 27000 bitcoin back in 2014 from the US Govt, and presumably hasn't moved it since, so according to this standard calculation all his bitcoin will be "lost" in a couple years lol.
~snip~

I'm pretty sure that Tim "spent" his BTC very quickly, because if I remember correctly, I read somewhere that he used those BTC for some kind of investment, although I can't remember exactly what it was about. Of course, this whole methodology of calculating lost BTC is full of holes and makes no sense, people realized that already 6-7 years ago.

It seems that you're not the only one who had some issues using Coinbase over the past few days check this Reddit post below
~snip~

What is strange is that this user claims that the whole situation has been going on for 8 months, although some others claim that their "problem" was solved in about a month. It seems that users will find their way to DEX one way or another, because using CEX will become like gambling.
1787  Economy / Economics / Re: What roles does the poor play in the Economy? on: June 24, 2023, 01:47:35 PM
I think that the poor play a big role in some economies, because if you are poor, it is very likely that you are also uneducated, and in that case you are subject to very easy "management" by those higher up in the hierarchy. If you take the example of China, which has a very cheap labor force (comparing it to the US or the EU), then it is very clear that without the cheap labor force, that country would not be competitive in the world compared to what it represents today.

Let's further take the example of many African countries that are very rich in resources and at the same time most of the people are poor or living on the edge of poverty - while at the same time their politicians do their best to keep the people where they are because that way they can easily manage the country and use resources for their luxurious life.

Unfortunately, poverty is something that many people turn their heads away from, for the reason that they simply do not care, or it is in their interest that the poor remain exactly as they are.

Four years of activity is a long time. But what do you want to tell us all? Why didn't you come to the forum with your old account? After all, we see new accounts here daily that claim to be newbies, did you decide to change your statement to say that you are a former old-timer here? Tell me, then, who were you in a past life? Grin

Coincidence or not, another new user has appeared claiming to have been a member before, but he can't remember his username or password. Obviously, both of them have a very bad memory, because I can still understand someone forgetting their password, but forgetting the username they've used for years is a bit harder to understand.

Not that I'm accusing anyone, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone plays merit fishing games🎣
1789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost coins redistribution on: June 24, 2023, 10:58:38 AM
Those characters who came to the conclusion a few years ago that 3-4 million BTC was lost using the methodology "not moved x years = lost" should apologize publicly for creating such confusion that obviously has nothing to do with reality.

In addition to what Satoshi mined, and those few characters who lost a few thousand BTC on thrown/locked hard drives, and those who deliberately burn some BTC, I think that maybe less than 10% of max supply is currently lost.

However, as I read in some posts before, in the future it will be possible to "save" some of these coins, and then we will really know if they were really lost or just stored safely.
1790  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price hitting 30k twice this year. on: June 24, 2023, 10:33:42 AM
How far away from the next halving are we?  It might be a combination of factors such as business consolidating their half yearly positions by shifting funds around or investment groups seeing the $25k price and deciding to throw a few million in Bitcoin's direction.

Approximately 300 days until the next halving, although the exact date cannot be precisely determined since halving occurs after every 210 000 blocks, and blocks are created on average every 10 minutes.

Given that halving is something that has had a big impact on the price so far, there should be no doubt that many are acting on it when it comes to investing in Bitcoin. Although from a business perspective it always makes the most sense to invest when the price of something is lowest, and all those who invest now have missed this opportunity.

For small investors who will invest a few hundred or thousands of dollars that may not mean too much - but when you invest millions then the difference must definitely be noticed, because for what you invest in BTC today you could have got almost twice as much BTC 6 months ago.
1791  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late for newbies? on: June 23, 2023, 01:12:07 PM
All my friends are talking about cryptocurrencies, but I still can't wrap my head around it.

I guess all your friends are talking about how to get rich by investing in cryptocurrencies, and they're not interested in anything else. Such an approach usually means that there will not be too much success, because without knowing what you are investing in, it is only a question of who will fall into what trap. Learn first, understand the basics and don't invest more than you're willing to lose.

If you have any success stories you would like to share, I would be very grateful if I could benefit from them as well...

Don't go in that direction, because the internet is full of "success stories" of those who promote various crypto projects and want to catch you on their hook. Stories about luxury houses, yachts and cars are not something you need to plan your investments on.

It's bad news for all of us, we could have heard a lot of good stories from those 5 people but instead it turned out to be a bad thing. We may not know what happened to them. Cry Cry Cry

Have you not heard all the stories about the Titanic and seen countless series and movies that have been made not that topic? I really can't imagine what new these people could say that could be of any use to anyone in any way.

As already written in one of the previous posts, it happened that one greedy company rented a submarine that was not certified to go so deep, all because no one cared about it because the Titanic wreck is in international waters. Even the U.S. Navy said it had detected an explosion at the time contact with the submarine was lost.
1793  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's imagine you were the president of your country, How would your Economic on: June 23, 2023, 10:15:10 AM
I was waiting for somebody to say this, the president might not even have the power to do something in some countries.
I doubt that 1% of Europeans know who the president of Germany for example is.
The trick question would be to name the president of the Netherlands or Canada! Grin

The truth is that in some countries the presidents are very powerful, but in the EU they are mostly reduced to protocol things, and as you say most people in the EU could hardly list three presidents even their neighboring countries. Unless you have a president who openly supports Russia and is the star of their media, then those who follow politics certainly know him.

Of course, for each activity poin I get $100 as Legendary Cheesy

Please don't hang on words. I am an expert, but in marketing, not crypto trading.

I know exactly what you wrote, but I want to say you don't need to be naive and you don't believe in everything you see, and I have shown you and an example of how it is possible to be "successful" in trading, although there is no profit behind that success.

I don't trust blindly, as I said statistics are confirmed. Do you think that the most popular crypto exchange is lying?

The most popular CEX? The same one under investigation in several countries and operating on the verge of law from the beginning? Of course, you can trust them Roll Eyes
1795  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price hitting 30k twice this year. on: June 23, 2023, 09:31:25 AM
I don't think the big companies will do any damage for bitcoin. It's not in their interest. Although they can undoubtedly drop the price for a while to get a chance to buy cheap coins. But now that they are here, they undoubtedly have a strong interest in bitcoin to make a profit. So in the future the prices will be much higher than they are now.

I wish you were right, but I share the opinion of some other people who think that BTC ETFs are very likely to cause a lot more problems than good. I've already posted that link on the forum several times, so even though it's about posts from 5 years ago, I think that what @theymos wrote definitely makes sense - although it would be interesting to know if he still thinks the same today.

You must know that the interest of big companies is exclusively profit, and that they do not choose ways to achieve the same. But most of these companies just use everything they can and then move on, and I think that Bitcoin is no exception to that.

Agreed, an ETF will almost certainly turn into a disaster at some point. The coins will be stolen, forks will be handled controversially, there will be issues with fungibility (eg. someone will "trace stolen coins" to the ETF's stash), the world will freak out when a bunch of retirees lose their life savings after doing the equivalent of buying BTC at $20k, etc. etc. It'll also get the sort of people who love regulation more into BTC, which is never good.

But investors want it, so it'll probably happen eventually. In particular, I totally condemn trying to get regulators to interfere in the free market more than they already do by blocking any ETF. (When the SEC was last looking into this, I had actually written a long document that I was going to send to them in order to comment on many technical issues with their proposed Bitcoin ETF regulation, but I decided not to send it because I don't want to have even the slightest hand in regulations.)

An ETF probably will increase the price a lot (until the ETF suffers its near-inevitable catastrophe), which has some pros and cons.

Note that an ETF can't affect Bitcoin itself, just the ETF investors and the market. There is no voting of any sort in Bitcoin, so it's not as if holding a lot of BTC gives you any power over Bitcoin, for example. I do agree with Andreas that the creation of a "corpo-Bitcoin" seems probable, perhaps after the ETF loses a ton of BTC and wants to undo it.
1796  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - what are we expecting for the rest of 2023? on: June 23, 2023, 09:13:07 AM

How high can we go before 2024? $40k? $50k?

You opened a topic a week ago Bitcoin - how low will we go in 2023?, and now you ask the completely opposite question in a new topic, and you expect some meaningful answer as if someone has magical powers that can predict the future...

Considering that you are planning to hold (and you have already written that countless times) in the long term, what does it even matter what happens by the end of the year? Even the birds on the branch know that the real show could start only next year, but that is probably your next topic.
1797  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price hitting 30k twice this year. on: June 22, 2023, 02:31:04 PM

Do you you think it's going to plummet again or do better above 40k? Or is just one of a tempting rise to fall again even below the

Take a coin, pick heads or tails and flip it. It all comes down to guessing whether bulls or bears will have better luck in their intentions. For me personally, it's not the time for some big bull run, although it's obvious that something is brewing in the US kitchen, and the question is whether something will really happen or if the market just reacted to the news too optimistically.

Regardless of the enthusiasm with BlackRock, Fidelity or some other big company, I hope that people do not think that they are interested in Bitcoin because they consider it good and necessary, but are only interested in profit. Just as they have the power to pump up the price of BTC, they also have the power to do a lot of damage to the same.

Life is made up of victories and defeats, and this defeat should still be viewed as one transient thing that will quickly become a matter of past. I have no doubt that Croatia will be on the Euro 2024 and that it will show good games there, but if it wants to make a good result again, it will need something more than luck.

The fact is that we are missing something that can push us to the end, and it is up to the coach and the expert staff to analyze the team and try to maybe introduce some new players into the game. Croatia must prepare for the fact that in the future they will play without some very important players, and it is still unknown whether Luka Modric will continue to play for the national team.

I will wait for offers until day end.
If I don't find a suitable partner, I will start alone.

Isn't that the best thing for you? You claim to have knowledge and experience, a good business model and you think you can profit from all this. You have to understand that most will not invest in such projects, especially if it comes to Telegram, which is a real paradise for scammers.

I don't say you're scammer, but this whole concept you present is not promising, no matter what you show that some others profit on such services (supposedly), as well as having someone who has fantastic results in trading.

I am not an expert or a trader. I have simply agreed with a high-level trader who has statistics to back it up. (! He is in the TOP 10 best traders of all time on Binance exchange by earned ROI %)

First you say that you have experience, and now you claim that you are not an expert or trader, while at the same time you blindly believe that someone realizes 2000% of profits. Maybe you should read the following topic :

1800  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's imagine you were the president of your country, How would your Economic on: June 22, 2023, 10:37:04 AM
So if I were president in my country, I wouldn't be able to do anything meaningful because the president doesn't have the powers that could affect the economy. For that I would have to be prime minister, and in order to make some changes I would have to have a team of professional and honest people around me.

I think one of the biggest problems that every government needs to solve is corruption and bribery within politics itself, and for that politics should cease to be a business, instead of working for the benefit of its own country.

The first thing I would do is increase wages for those who work the hardest/most dangerous jobs and fight poverty by all means necessary. Then I would introduce mandatory education for all children in terms of all addictions (cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, gambling) which would have an effect on their health in the future and generally reduce health costs.

Of course, there is a whole spectrum of measures that could be done to improve people's lives, and as I have already written I would start from the bottom up, because those who have a lot of money can take care of themselves anyway.
