New CNB 20k daily withdrawal limit
Well what i think most businesses are going to do as a result of this devopment is to ensure they have their own PoS machines so customers can pay directly to them with their ATM cards, i know every large scale business definitely has that already, but now even small scale businesses would have to get theirs, because you can no longer expect customers to have sufficient cash to cover what they want to buy.

Only denominations of 200 naira note and below will be loaded in ATM machines once this development takes effect oh (una see that one?), so even if you decide to go withdraw the stipulated 20,000 daily, na for 200 naira denomination or below you go hold am oh. Grin I feel this policy would greatly affect people who run PoS services as they would lack the funds to satisfy their customers, if they decide to use the ATM, they are limited to only 100,000 per week, and if they choose over the counter, they are limited to 100,000 and 500,000 with a fee to process such transactions amounting to 5% and 10% respectively, that is absolutely crazy; i can see quite a lot of people who are into PoS services shutting down from january 9, 2023, and we have many of them in our country, it means many people are soon to be jobless.

Having said that, i do not know what exactly the economic benefit of making cash scarce is, if you ask me that isn't our problem at all, me i believe say our main problem be say we no they produce anything locally, plus this men them wey they thief our oil, if we fit handle production in our country, fix refineries, come they export locally produced goods, plus enjoying the full benefit of the oil wey God bless us with, then i believe say our economy go wake up from sleep. Making cash scarce looks like compounding our problems, especially by making people jobless like i said in the second paragraph of my post.

There is a thread (sometimes even more than one) for everything in the gambling discussion section already, thus sometimes every new thread seems like a duplicate one and unnecessary, that's the reason why your new thread was trashed by the mods. The WC discussions are already being held in more than one thread in the gambling discussion board, and it doesn't matter if every new one takes a different subject title, they are all discussions about the WC, and no more is necessary.
1883  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Questions about Bitcoin investment and Mining. on: December 06, 2022, 07:57:09 PM
A lot of people are making comments about the bear market, which was brought on by the crashes of some coins like FTX and Luna. I'm curious as to what sets Bitcoin apart from these other coins. Considering that it's been said that Bitcoin won't be impacted and will continue to grow, what are the key difference between the two Bitcoin and other coins?
The situation with FTX and LUNA made the bear period worse, but that wasn't what caused it, there would be a bear market even without those events, but it might not have fallen this low (speculative talk). Nonetheless Bitcoin would definitely be impacted by the bear market, but only temporarily, but Bitcoin isn't going to disappear or go into oblivion as many coins/tokens do during and immediately after the crypto bear market. The key difference between Bitcoin and other coins is that Bitcoin has an actual utility, it isn't a pump and dump coin and because of its utility there will always be demand, thus the price will always appreciate and continue to grow.
The second is about Bitcoin mining; what is the difference between investing in bitcoin and mining bitcoin, or are they interchangeable? If you do not wish to purchase, will you mine your own Bitcoin?
They are not really interchangeable, investing in Bitcoin is when you use your funds to buy Bitcoin and hodl it for for the long term to make ROI. Bitcoin mining has to do with purchasing equipments required for mining and joining the Bitcoin community of miners in competing to add the next block in the blockchain. Mining your own Bitcoin is more expensive than purchasing it, so you may want to just purchase it rather than setting up a mining rig and paying for electricity necessary to mine, though you can join a mining pool and earn based on what you are contributing to the pool.
1884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will BNB Coin Hit $300 Mark in 2023? on: December 06, 2022, 07:00:45 PM
For sure bnb would hit $300 and even bypass it. Remember this is CZ we are talking about here, not some random lesser known crypto project. CZ has this stranglehold on crypto which he aint letting soon
Mind you that CZ is a businessman who will definitely put his own pocket first in anything he does, even if it has to do with manipulation or pumping his token for the meantime, only for it to dump later on after his desired effect has been actualized, i wonder why you should have so much trust in an individual, in a network that is meant to be trustless. Having said that, i know quite a lot of people are bullish on the price of BNB, but as you accumulate on that token, watch out for a possible dump sooner rather than later, so do no put everything into it expecting a constant pump.

Abi them wan use this one take consol Nigerians base on election wey dey come? Since plenty youths dey into this stuff.
Many people are divided on the issue of tax generally, especially on how the money generated is put to use, i don't have any problem with paying taxes, as long as the government uses the money correctly. Crypto taxes cannot be a way to console Nigerians, nobody likes some part of their money taken away from them, even when it is necessary. Crypto is taxed in the U.S. and in some other countries too, i guess Nigeria is next to impose tax on crypto, we'd see how it pans out.
Nothing wey Nigerian government go do wey go surprise me again, e fit be say, dem see say people no wan live d cryptocurrency na why dem wan legalise am make dey get small money 4 people wey de involved in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency transactions
They are not legalising anything, crypto itself isn't illegal in Nigeria, only be say government don ban banks from running package with crypto exchanges. The Nigerian government do not even have to legalize crypto to impose taxes on it, it is within their jurisdiction to do so without legalising Bitcoin if that be the case.

But to do this easier they need to have a successful season. Especially if they manage to qualify for the Champions League it would be very beneficial for them to convince top players to sign for them.
I second that, Newcastle have the funds required to sign world class players, they can afford just about anyone but they can't allure world class players just yet because the club is not as of yet competitive for trophies, and they aren't playing in the CL. But they could make their job for next summer transfer window pretty easier depending on how they finish this season. It is extremely difficult for Newcastle to finish in the top four, but i imagine if they can possibly pull that off, they would thus have it easier convincing very decent players to join them next summer. A place in the Europa League wouldn't be bad, but they would still be unable to get some kind of quality players if they are in the Europa League.

Having said that, Newcastle's new status in terms of money they have will take some time before it pushes them to be contenders for the EPL, they first have to build a reputation for themselves and be a club that decent players would want to represent; thus far this season i'd say Eddie Howe is doing absolutely that, and i am pretty sure the club hierarchy will be pleased with what they are seeing, even without having to spend large just yet.
1887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 04, 2022, 08:34:58 PM
5 points is not a comfortable distance for them, especially the team chasing them is Manchester City.
A five points gap is great for Arsenal, not so comfortable, but in the EPL i don't think any team would expect to top City by a comfortable mile, if they (City) are not top, they'd always chase whoever is top and maintain a considerable distance so they would be able to capitalize on any errors, thus Arsenal should be happy with the five points gap they have at the summit.

Having said that, Arteta basically just has to get on with things immediately after the WC, if they lose concentration, City are going to be there to take advantage, for now City are yet to have any player injured at the WC, but Arsenal do, Arteta has to start working on how to cope without the players he is sure wouldn't be available immediately after the WC. The thing about Pep is that he never stops thinking, so if his team is breathing down your neck, you also shouldn't stop thinking, or else he'll win in the end.
1888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 04, 2022, 07:33:12 PM
Bellingham would add a really big strength to Liverpool's lineup by the way. As for Manchester City I don't know if they really need him. Because they already have a complete team to achieve anything they want now.
Everybody is interested in Bellingham, Grin the boy is so good that every top club in Europe hopes to acquire his signature, he is definitely leaving Dortmund next summer, but he has to be careful about where he goes, he wouldn't want to go to a team that would halt his development and progress, so picking the right team is pertinent.

Having said that, if i am asked between City and Liverpool who needs Bellingham the most, i would say Liverpool, they really need a young and talented player like the English man in their midfield, however if City are to make a move for him, then they definitely have to sell someone, it would make sense if it's Grealish, he has been underwhelming since moving to the Etihad, the only problem City will have is that they bought him for a hundred millions pounds, and definitely nobody is going to pay even half of that for him going by his current form, that's to say if they are to sell him next summer they'll lose a lot of money doing so, but i guess if it comes down to that, and that's what they have to do to get Bellingham, then it is what it is.
1889  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: December 04, 2022, 05:59:31 PM
They blamed it on the economic downturn. I cannot say if it the economic downturn of Nigeria or the global economic downturn. But something at the back of my mind is telling me that there is more to this than meet the eyes. They have said that it has no relation with the FTX but I doubt. Did the long bear run affect them? Did they spend too much on BBN sponsorship and other ambassadorial deals? What do you think?
It definitely had nothing to do with their sponsorship of BBN or any other ambassadorial deal they partook in, because in all of such deals i'm pretty sure they accrued quite a lot profit and gained popularity which is always good for business and the exact reason why companies run such deals.

It obviously has to do with the current world economic crisis, and it obviously isn't peculiar to Nigeria as they (Quidax) aren't the only ones laying off their staffs, many businesses around the world are doing the same thing to be able to be productive whilst still making profit in the process, i'm afraid this is a similar situation and there isn't anything else to this, when things get better economically they can hire more staffs again or stay the way they are if they discover themselves to be just as productive all the same.

1891  Other / Meta / Re: Incentivizing moderation reports with millimerits on: December 04, 2022, 04:29:20 PM
Not too long ago there was a proposal to incentivize MS's with Bitcoins or any monetary reward of some sort, that idea was rubbished as being completely unnecessary as MS's do not need any sat for the good they do. I think likewise reporters, they shouldn't be motivated or incentivized with merits or monetary reward for reporting posts, or 'punished' for wrong reports.

Reporters could be recognized with something like the proposed reporters badge of many years ago, but with yet no implementation on that until now, that is Theymos doesn't think it to be too important. Having said that, if there is less reports nowadays we can take the positive side and agree that there are less shitposts to report, and not believe that it is due to lack of reporters and thus seek a way to pump reports for the moderators.

If Manchester United want a random and impossible transfer,  they should go for Musiala
You say it yourself that it is 'impossible', yet you want Manchester United to bid for him, i think they'll be seen as being unserious should they make a bid for the youngster. Musiala is a precocious talent that Bayern Munich can never let go of, just like Foden in Manchester City for example, there's no bid that could make City sell Foden right now. I'd advise Manchester United to make bids for players they can possibly sign, last summer they chased some players for a very long time without signing them, Frankie de Jong is one of such players, they wouldn't want to make the same mistake in the next transfer windows, Musiala is Bayerns "golden star", and i am pretty sure clubs would know this isn't the right time to bid for him, an opportunity might come in the future, but certainly not now.

The more you people talking about not being sentimental, tribalistic and whatever, the more I see sentiment and all you mention in the statement. PDP has ruled, yes! But was it Atiku that ruled? No. APC also, it's not Tinubu that is ruling now. Obi was the part of the PDP that ruled before. He's not Saint as you all portray. Na sentiment sef dey make us support Obi all in name of na Igbo turn and nothing more. If we are to be fair to ourselves, kwankwaso and Sowore are better choice too but sentiment no go allow us to see.
If you believe say na Kwankwaso or Sowore be the better choice for you, then vote for them, nobody they compel you to vote for Peter Obi, it is your choice, anybody sev wey feel say na Atiku or Tinubu wey be their own better candidate, make them vote them too; but as una they do that make una leave obedient people make them campaign in the way they want to, una fes they talk say na only online Obi get mouth, now una don change am to tribal sentiment, deep down everybody know say Obi campaign no they based on tribe or ethnicity, it is based on his track record of excellence whilst in power, and his visions of a better Nigeria wey many people don believe say na him be the man to take us out of this current condition. Nobody they talk say Obi na saint, but if na onto corruption matters, nobody is yet to bring up anything against him in that regard, but as for Tinubu and Atiku, you know say you no fit talk the same thing about them. Every Nigerian knows what is right, but una they inure to sufferings, so we always do what's not right, 2023 fit no they any different.

It is still interesting to see that Manchester United haven't signed a contract extension with Rashford yet. There are some news such as they are planning a new contract to offer him soon. It is expected to be a long-term one as well. But I wonder what Rashford is thinking about this now. Maybe the reason why he hasn't extended with his team is that he still hasn't made up his mind about staying or leaving.
There is no chance in hell that Rashford is going to leave Manchester United, at least not now that Ronaldo has left the team and Erik Ten Hag has put quite a lot of faith and confidence in him, making him Manchester United's star man, if Rashford was to leave Old Trafford it would have been last summer, but i think the manager spoke with him and informed him he had him in his plans, thus encouraging him to stay, which he did, Rashford is definietely going nowhere.

Having said that, working out a new contract takes time, and i don't think both parties are rushing things right now, they are both patient and with time Manchester United would definitely extend Rashford's contract, for now he is focused on finishing high in the world cup, returning to Old Trafford and having a perfect season right until the end.

We don't even know if it's something they' all cahooted and agreed to fold up with people's fund in there (this infact, is what everyone normal person would be thinking but, who knows?)? ... If genuinely, it's due to management process (cus thos whole damn thing ain't easy), then it's not really Thier fault, but how bout the damages? Seee.... That's why I'd swirl gently to your perspective and adopt that idea and I'd also urge everyone to do so.
If your crypto funds are in your non-custodial wallet and you make the mistake of falling victim to scammers and lose it, or you click on malware/phishing links and you lose it, it is your fault that you lost your funds; that is exactly the same way it is an exchanges fault if you hand over your funds/keys to them and something happens to it, it is their fault, it doesn't matter if it was perpetrated by people working inside the exchange, or if it was due to the owners mismanaging funds, it remains a fault with their security system. That's why people should hodl their funds privately and bear the consequences of their own actions (if any arise), and not the actions of centralized exchanges and whoever is in charge there (should anything go wrong).

I hope Leao doesn't move from AC Milan in the near future. Because Milan really needs Leao for now. He became a key player for AC Milan to stay in the Top 3 of Serie A. If Leao goes to MU I'm sure it will be a big loss for Milan. Because so far, Leao has made a very good contribution to AC Milan's success in the current standings. Leao also proved his performance in the World Cup and had the opportunity to help Portugal qualify for the knock out phase.
I can't imagine Rafael Leao moving to Manchester United, i don't thing it's possible, Manchester United is a club that's just struggling to find its feet, they are resurgent at the moment, but it would take quite a lot of time for them to return back to the elite club we knew them to be; Leao on the other hand is having the form of his life at AC Milan, he is their star player and highly sought after by numerous clubs in Europe, he definitely can't go to a struggling club, he'd rather go to one that is doing very well and where he can possibly win quite a lot of trophies. Imo i think if Rafael Leao is to leave AC Milan for the EPL his best option has to be City, and if he wants to move to Spain, then there is no better team other than Real Madrid; these are the sort of clubs that fit a player in his kind of form.

Well the OP of the thread no longer sends merits to applicants on this thread, and even though any user is obliged to send merits to applicants here out of their own discretion, they very well rarely do because this thread isn't so active, so you might consider applying for merits to reach your new rank which is very close in other "merit giveaway" topics that are active. You could also send a pm to The Pharmacist for him to review your post history for possible merits. Good Luck, you are very close.

spanish champions real madrid are reportedly keeping tabs on manchester united midfielder and portugal national Bruno Fernandes at the world cup
I'm pretty sure that quite a lot of players who shine in this ongoing WC would start receiving offers from different clubs, Bruno Fernandez is one of such players that is currently shining at the WC with two goals and an assist and he and his country are already through to the RO16 of the WC, thus he still has a lot to offer before they are either eliminated or possibly win the trophy.

Having said that, Real Madrid is a dream club for every footballer, i do not know if they will make an offer for the Portuguese, but if they do it will be difficult for him to turn them down, Real have midfielders that are nearing the end of their playing time so it would make sense if they plan to sign Bruno, we'd have to wait till the WC is over to find out if this deal is possible or just a rumor.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 30, 2022, 06:35:08 PM
Manchester City by far has a better squad and depth likely to win the league no arguments on that, but still, if Arsenal maintain same consistency they're winning the Premier League.
City quite rightly have the better players and they have better depth than any other team in the EPL, but their performances this season has been underwhelming, i know quite a lot of people do not see it, mainly because Erling Haaland has been in unbelievable form, scoring plethora of goals in the process, thus his brilliance seems to cover up for City's poor general play. City have struggled in so many games this season. In the games that they havent't lost or drawn they are either coming back from a losing position to get a victory, or not playing too well but yet win, only in a few games have they been convincing. Mind you that i have watched every single City's game this season. Arsenal on the other hand have been far much better, and there is a real chance that they are going to win the EPL title this season. If Pep doesn't work on his boys after the WC, then i'm afraid Arteta might just do something magnificent and bring the title to the Emirates.
1900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are stablecoins safe? on: November 30, 2022, 12:29:12 PM
I recommend you to save your funds in stable coins like USDT, USDC and BUSD. These coins are to safe and secure and also it's price will also stable. You can use exchange like Binance and wallet like Trust Wallet these are also most safe and secure for saving stable coins.
I'm afraid i wouldn't recommend a crypto enthusiast to save their funds in stable coins for the long term, it is not safe to do so; if you are prolly a trader who needs to move your funds into stable coins and then out to other crypto's for the purpose of your trade, then that might just be fine for you, but do not consider your funds secure or safe when you have them in stable coins, especially when it is for the long run, it is a centralized coin and quite a lot of things can go wrong with centralized coins, your funds could even be frozen and you would lose everything. Save your funds in decentralized cryptocurrencies, and store them in your own open source non-custodial wallet for maximum security.
