Best of luck to you. The collateral your asking for seems a bit absurd to me for a $10 loan, not to mention the interest rates but who knows. Crazier things have happened I suppose.

Yo jaaawsh...what's the deal mein? Please tell me your not pulling a casper here over a couple of bit-cents.

If us_citizen: coinbase/bankaccount/mastercard (to enable instant purchases) fastest way I've found of getting my hands on some BTC

My 2 satoshi's worth:
btc-e (pretty reliable for the most part, unknown people behind it a fairly large concern) bitstamp (reliable, solid) cryptsy (has it's issue(s), but best overall place I've found for my alt trades)

Simply amazing to me that BFL is still getting away with all this crap. Albeit slightly less amazing given the amount of other crap going on in the asic manufacturing world atm imho
*2 weeks!

Yeah...pretty doubtful your going to find anybody capable of supporting that much spare juice available in a residence. Data Center more than likely the ticket your looking for.

Great idea but how can we be sure that the coin will reach its intended beneficiaries
No way of being 100% sure. But publicly listed BTC addresses is a step in the right direction imho

'I swear your honor...I lost my private key!'
I agree with the gentleman that stated earlier it largely has to do with how much of a paper trail he generated. If we are talking large ticket items, cars, houses, boats, etc. more than likely he'll get hammered. (or at least they will try)

If I was considering opening up a Bitcoin poker/gambling site I would most likely consider the following places: 1.) Isle of Mann (bitcoin island) 2.) Bali (another bitcoin island) 3.) Germany (no capital gains if btc held > 1 year) 4.) Denmark (no capital gains...period)

Psych. evaluation. In other words, this fella is now on suicide watch?!

I bid $12 worth of bitcoin and my landlords super-mean cat!
*Seriously though, great domain name to have ownership of.

I sure hope this kid did something REALLY nice for his grandma. Boondogle or whatever the heck it's called wouldn't be around if it weren't for her initial $1,000.

Have been using PiMP to mine DRK on my little ole Asus 7870 for about a week straight now without incident.

So how can we participate in the giveaway? Just by commenting here?
"When 1 MMXIV coin's price is equal to 1 BTC" I hate to be pessimist, but I doubt that giveaway will ever happen! I have a feeling those 10 Antminer S2's will be staying put for the foreseeable future.

Really digging this thread. I need to come and check out the Alternate cryptocurrencies thread(s) a bit more frequently.

Mining x13 in www.coinking.io multipool seems to be giving higher profitability then other pool. Mining X11 coins on this pool is shit, not sure how you think X13 would fair better when I get these results.. I switched over to this pool last night at approx 8pm, time now is 10:40am next morning. 14 hours of mining at approx 100MH has made made approx $10.00 If I mined Darkcoin straight out I would of earned 0.031BTC ( $19.34) that is almost DOUBLE!!! My rigs were online 24/7, no downtime.... Wow...Only $10 for 100MH running without interruption for 24 hours...that is pretty poor.

Sorry to hear that Dutchman, I too hope that if it's a case of foul-play whomever is responsible for it is brought to justice quickly.

It seems weird to me too. Can I now assume that the next difficulty increase will slow down now?
Possible...but highly unlikely!

I couldn't help but laugh when I came to the part about how miners prefer to view difficulty graphs in logarithmic scale because it "smooths out the spikes". Totally Guilty!

Liking the google finance charts. Yahoo chart coming up with 5 days max worth of historical pricing data...but hey, it's better than nothing!
