1961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Myths that we often hear on: August 11, 2022, 07:09:00 PM
Here is another Gambling Myth that I often hear:

  • Women don't know anything about sports betting.

In reality, it is not all about the men, and in fact many women have a better sense than their male counterparts regarding sports betting. Betting on a sports game is not rocket science (and I am not implying here that women cannot be rocket scientists, either), even if some men would like you to believe that it is.

Ignore myths about gambling, it is a dangerous road for money, enjoyment, and your health. The fact that these myths still exist and are being spread proves once again that we do not realize how susceptible our brains are to over-shifting patterns. Yes, you can win if you play long enough, but is it worth it? Is it a sound financial decision? It is always wise to understand how things work, remember the fundamentals and avoid easy shortcuts. Remember, there is truly no such thing as a guaranteed win, on the Internet or offline.
1964  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is this person trying to do on: August 09, 2022, 11:05:18 PM
I think it is safe to say that this is a scam. In this digital age, it is easy to fall prey to internet scams. But, don't ever trust anyone whom you don't know from the inside out. Especially people online who claim to have who have medical problems, like this scam artist above. Never hesitate to do some research if you think something might be fishy, and learn as much as you can about a situation before you commit to sending your money anywhere. If it sounds too good to be true, it most certainly is.
1965  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Four (4) Tips On How I Handle Criticism on Bitcointalk Forum on: August 09, 2022, 09:22:57 PM
Many of us interpret criticism as an attack on our own value, taking criticism personally when it is not.
It could be an attack at times because a guy once called me "stupid and foolish" for taking offence at why I disliked Bitcoin. It's disliked, not even dislike. I guess some are overbearing and attack/disrespect people at will which is not good.

Was it me? LOL!

Well, if that is all the guy told you, then I wouldn't even consider it a criticism, but just plain ad hominem since he is incapable of arguing effectively. But, if it is accompanied by valid arguments, then you can accept it as the way he is expressing himself. For example, some people are more vocal in their feelings while others are more intellectual and restrained. Don't take away the other's right to express themselves in a way they feel comfortable with. The language we use to express ourselves (or our attitudes) is often a reflection of our personality and character. You don't have to be a wimp about it.
1966  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Blokbro plagiarised Content , Roadmap and Whitepaper from LockNess.io on: August 09, 2022, 07:17:15 PM
holydarkness, although you wasted a lot of perfectly good words on this case, I think you nailed it!  Cheesy

I just wanted to add my thoughts on this:
I am not sure with how it goes in Italy, but I know a lot of --if not most, or even every-- countries apply this rule.
~

Last time I checked, Italy was still a member of the European Union, so for all intents and purposes, I believe this applies:

Quote
How to obtain copyright protection
If you create literary, scientific and artistic work, you automatically have copyright protection, which starts from the moment you create your work, so you don't need to go through any formal application process.
https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/running-business/intellectual-property/copyright/index_en.htm

~
I like your argument and congratulate you on your work, but I would like people to understand that common sense often prevails over many things.

You seem to be shifting your arguments a bit here, don't you? The common sense in this case is that you cannot just take someone else's work and present it as your own. But I bet that you knew this all along, so all this discussion was unnecessary.
1967  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Google Sheets Extension - Scammed on: August 09, 2022, 06:16:19 PM
Did you ever take a look at the extension setting page? If I'm not mistaken, on Chrome, you can see the Chrome Web Store page for every installed extension, maybe the fake extension information is listed over there. I tried to look it up but couldn't find any. If there is, the scam extension should be reported.

I do not think this extension came from the official Google Chrome Web Store, that is probably why it was greyed out. OP said he installed some pirated software lately. In my experience, this is a very common way to get infected with malicious software and browser extensions.

Do not install programs from unofficial sources. They can give you more than you bargained for.  Wink
1968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple deposit never received on: August 07, 2022, 11:49:26 PM
Back to the address, the XRP address is being created by Uphold. There are 2 possibilities, the hacker is using Uphold for the address receiver or the Uphold itself is the culprit.

I think there is a third possibility. The address was activated by the Uphold because that's where the first transaction came from. If the OP's transaction was the first, it would probably say that it was activated by Kraken. Uphold may not have anything to do with this as it seems to be just another exchange, and someone was probably just trying to withdraw their funds to Binance or some other address.
1969  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Google Sheets Extension - Scammed on: August 07, 2022, 11:33:00 PM
This time I was extremely lucky, because a few days ago I was actually planning on moving my funds from Binance in an attempt to find a better APY. Chances are, that I would have lost my money.

Damn! So my initial suspicion was correct. Yes, I think you were very lucky considering how small the amount was. For this reason, it is always a good idea to proceed each serious transaction with a smaller one to ensure that the funds will reach the intended destination.

Good detective work, by the way. It is too bad you could not figure out where you downloaded the extension to your browser. Who knows, there may even be different extensions infected with malware. Does anyone know why the extension name was greyed out?
1970  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1xbit dispute on: August 07, 2022, 11:01:02 PM
~
Some victims couldn't defend their side well since they couldn't provide concrete proof but I don't think plenty of complaints aren't enough to accuse 1xbit of their incompetence towards their users. For sure, there are still users who had bad experiences and aren't able to complain. If there were already accusations regarding the site, I think 1xbit should also defend their side in the right manner by answering most of them and solving issues that will affect their reputation. They should be responsible for fixing things that will affect their site's name but as I could see, they aren't concerned about their reputation and trust rate.

It is indeed not a secret that online betting is one of the riskiest activities that anyone can engage in. There are several causes for concern, from financial to social and even legal. And one of the biggest threats that are always looming over every bettor's head is the possibility of shady operators, leaving the player out in the cold without his money. Of course, this is nothing new - we have seen it multiple times before, but one thing that sets 1xBit apart from those who came before it is the sheer number of complaints regarding its dodgy activities. Either way, it's clear to see that 1xBit has shown itself to be a source of distress for many bettors who trusted the company to deliver on its promises. In an industry that is notoriously shady, we have seen a steady stream of cheating and scams come and go, but it seems the creaky door that 1xBit bolted on its entry to the market won't be able to hold back the tide of customer complaints any longer.
1971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: recovering a wallet with wallet id, and some characters of the password, not all on: August 07, 2022, 08:57:14 PM
wallet id was recognized, private key wasn't, private key seemed to have some weird words maybe i wrote it down wrong.

The private key should not have any words in it. If it is, as hosseinimr93 mentioned, a seed phrase or recovery phrase, it usually contains a series of 12 (or 24) words. Does your data look like a private key or a seed phrase?
When you say that the private key is not recognized, what exactly do you mean? Where is it not recognized?
1972  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1xbit dispute on: August 07, 2022, 08:38:40 PM
1xbit knows very well who their target customers are, and they run promotions to attract those customers. These forum members are well aware of how bad 1xbit's reputation is. You will find a lot of positive reviews of 1xbit online, and new gamblers are attracted to this website because of those reviews. A gambling website against which scam reports are coming out daily but they continue their operations without any problem. For the 1xbit team, generating revenue is more important than reputation.

1xBit has been proven to be an online casino that is most certainly not to be trusted and the majority of users on this forum already know this site isn't worth the time. 1xBit is a casino that was launched a long ago, and there have been some big issues with this website since the launch. It seems that the bad reputation of 1xbit will remain intact for quite some time. Gambling is one of the most popular activities in the world. Online casinos are growing enormously and they are now available on every Internet-enabled device. They are definitely here to stay, but some of them seem to look like they could vanish in a puff of smoke at any moment. Seeing as though 1xBit has already been widely reported as being not just a scam, but an outright fraud, it is obvious that many people would like to avoid joining up with this casino at all costs. That is putting it mildly; really, there does not appear to be an individual here who wouldn not steer clear of 1xBit for fear of getting ripped off!
1973  Economy / Gambling / Re: A New Era for Betting - (After Corona Circumstances) on: August 07, 2022, 08:21:48 PM
To all those who think online betting will never overshadow the physical ones, worry no more! Things are changing and the trend is showing that all the betting sites now have their own online platforms. So, it is not anymore a question of IF but WHEN. This is just the beginning of online gambling and we will be likely seeing casino platforms who will take over the traditional casino houses. After all, online betting platforms are a lot cheaper to maintain than a physical casino. Not to mention, they have the advantage of not being limited to a specific location. You can bet online from any place that you want.

Real money online gambling is definitely a viable option in today's internet-based world and I think the online casino industry will continue to grow at a steady pace. And with new innovations being made as we speak, I think this boom will continue for years to come, even if we have a few bumps along the way. It is inevitable.
1974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple deposit never received on: August 07, 2022, 06:45:50 PM
Alright, that's weird. AFAIK, exchanges do use a one-for-all address for cryptocurrencies like XRP or XLM and they credit the account based on the memo tag.

Based on the CS information, the mentioned address information does refer to Binance(https://bithomp.com/explorer/rEb8TK3gBgk5auZkwc6sHnwrGVJH8DuaLh). But if I look into the address you've sent the fund to, it is activated by Uphold and there is no destination information tag required(https://bithomp.com/explorer/rp7bXSnsuBiw8x2z3ZZfx4SiN9N9QCy3tC).

I roughly search what Uphold is all about, but if you look at their Reddit sub, there are a lot of bad reviews.

Can you confirm that, if you use a different device to open up Binance, it still shows that particular address?
As you said this can be a clone site but when I checked the we address from the screenshot then everything looks normal so I don't know where the issue starts.

Based on checking the transaction history of the address the number of transaction count is very less so it may not be the original address of Binance since we all know how much transactions were made into that exchange wallet every minute.

That is very strange indeed. The address mentioned by Ultegra134, rp7bXS... was activated for the first time only twenty minutes before his transaction and has only five incoming transactions. It definitely doesn't look like a Binance hot wallet address. If each user had a unique address (as is the case with Bitcoin or Litecoin), there would be no other transactions. However, if the addresses were identical for all users, then there would be many more incoming transactions.

Maybe the OP's computer is infected by some type of malware that changes the Binance deposit address without his knowledge? Like a clipboard hijack attack. Is something like that even possible?
1975  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Time to Buy or Sell or Hodl? on: August 07, 2022, 05:59:00 PM
I believe the cryptocurrency market still has a few tricks up its sleeve. And I am willing to risk my money and make a significant bet on this one. It is like buying a real estate investment: You can keep your money in the bank, but if you find a good deal, why not open your wallet? If you need cash, that is OK, but I always try to buy back in when the price drops again so I can invest it at a relatively lower value. However, I'm not saying that you have to buy now like what most people say, claiming that if you buy now, you can make more profits in the future. Maybe we have all been wrong from the very beginning. Who knows? We could all be holding tokens of an overvalued, "under-delivering" technology, which also happens to be one of the most hyped industries today. This is the first time in history where such an unpredictable market has gone mainstream.

In short, it can be scary. And if you are scared too, look for ways to cut your risk, especially at times when prices are high and money is flowing in from all over the place. Sometimes the most important investment decision is not buying into something, but rather it is holding off from buying at all when the time isn't right.
1976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple deposit never received on: August 07, 2022, 11:19:36 AM
I can't understand what's wrong, I've filled all the required information, but the following error message pops up, "The currency, network, or amount of the TxID/TxHash do not match your input. Please confirm the details provided.". It's extremely frustrating, is it that complicated to withdraw XRP? I can't find any mistake concerning the withdrawal either and now I can't even request to resolve the deposit issue on Binance.

Have you contacted their customer support yet? It may be the only solution.

Yes, I found the very coin (not a token) that will give these 300%,
~

There is something wrong with your math. You do know that 300% is not the same as 30x, right? So which one is it?

Believe me, you will regret the lost profits!

Oh, I am sure of that... We already regretted not buying LUNA when you said it will grow 10 times!  Cheesy

I need a loan to buy a LUNA because it will grow 10 times. Can I use UST tokens as collateral?

Dumbass, you must be a special case of loser? You have been struggling for months to scam someone for a few bucks. If that is all you are good for you are wasting your time to be here.
Get lost loser and go earn a living. Life is too short to waste time and to be a failure.
1978  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Blokbro plagiarised Content , Roadmap and Whitepaper from LockNess.io on: August 07, 2022, 10:03:02 AM
First, be careful with the words "idiot"

First, show me where I called you an idiot?
I called you a dumbass, dumbass! There is a difference. Idiot is a person of low general intelligence (a medical condition) while dumbass is slang for a stupid or foolish person. [source] Although, you are exhibiting some symptoms of moral idiocy.

The word "plagiarism" is referred to in conjunction with the violation of the Copyrhigt ... precisely we are talking that I have not committed copyright infringement and therefore this word "Plagiarism" cannot be used because it is related to copyright infringement.

No, you are wrong! For the nth time, plagiarism IS NOT the same as copyright infringement. You are accused of plagiarism, not copyright infringement. You took parts of someone else's work and published it as your own without attributing the original author. This is plagiarism by definition.

"Plagiarism - plagiarism occurs when a work is reproduced in whole or in part and its authorship is wrongly attributed to others and not to the author".

Take another look at this quote (which, by the way, you took without citing the source, so it is plagiarism again) and apply it to your case. Or, better yet, ask someone to translate it for you, because you obviously have difficulty understanding English words. Dumbass!
1979  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Concern over market fluctuations affecting a 5year bitcoin investment plan. on: August 06, 2022, 11:48:43 PM
A 5-year investment plan is an excellent way to get into a new asset class without having to put up your life savings. However, just like any other investment, there are risks involved.

Bitcoin is a volatile investment. It has been volatile since its inception. Every time there has been a major bad news event or high profile hack, the price of bitcoin tends to drop dramatically. If you are planning on investing in Bitcoin for the long-term, you need to be prepared for fluctuations in price. I would recommend that you do not invest any more than you can afford to lose. I know it is a cliche, but it is true, especially when it comes to investing in cryptocurrencies. The real issue is that there is no guarantee that bitcoin will continue to be valuable for long-term investing. It could crash tomorrow and lose most of its value overnight (like many other currencies have done), or it could go up for years without stopping (like many other currencies have done). So if you are going to invest in Bitcoin, do so because you believe in its potential rather than just because it might be trendy at the moment.

And by the way, you should not base your investment decisions on opinions from random people on the Internet.
1980  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: What Drives Hackers?, Is it Money, Power Or Fun. on: August 06, 2022, 11:01:24 PM
The term "hacker" has become synonymous with both the good guys and bad guys of the Internet world. The reality is that most hackers are simply coders trying to make a living by finding bugs in software or exploiting loopholes in computer networks. Some do it for fun; others do it for profit.

The most common motivation behind hacking is money, either through selling information about vulnerabilities or through finding exploits that hackers can sell on underground markets.

Some hackers want to make money hacking, because can be a lucrative business.
Some hackers want to hack for the sake of hacking, because it is their sadistic version of fun.
Some hackers want to be hackers because it is cool in their circles.
Some hackers have no ulterior motive when they hack; they just want to hack.
