Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still $7.5k-ish... currently $7490USD/$10530CAD (Bitcoinaverage)'

No de-bart yet.  Go Bitcoin go.

In 1999, the American Society for Analytical Chemistry certified that chlorine dioxide to be the most effective bacterial killer in human history.
MMS is a 28% solution of sodium chlorite (NaClO2) in water and if you add acid you end up with chlorine dioxide (ClO2) gas.
Apparently a fair few people have swallowed MMS over the years. As the old saying goes  "The dose makes the poison!"
All president Trump is doing is to get peer reviewed science in action and away from fake news.

You mean "holy water"?

I sincerely have a feeling  that this spring's Covid Crash will end up being seen as one of the MAX PAIN turning points in BTC's history.

Kinda like the 2011 Gox hack crash or the 2013 Silk Road bust crash that triggered the first run up to 4 digits?

I hope so. It really showed that the bottom was already in and there was nowhere to go but up.
1983  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 23, 2020, 02:56:04 PM
When we passed $7.7k on stamp it marked the doubling of the bottom of $3.85k we hit at the peak of the covid-market-crash panic.

When we touch $8k, I'll consider that page turned.

Good riddance.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still over $7k... currently $7180USD/$10121CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Yawn. Hibernating of just quarantining?

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Missed half a week due to a serious internet outage compounded by covid. Seems there was a problem with a tower out of town and the highway shutdown caused a serious delay in getting it repaired.

After a couple of days dude got his (our village's) network connected to Whatsapp so we could send messages and make calls but couldn't access websites or email. No news, weather, Youtube or Bitcointalk. It reminded me of New York during 9/11 when the only communication people had was with Blackberries. Full internet service was restored late yesterday.

I see we had a dip down under $7k while I was incommunicado but it's bounced back up... currently $7082USD/$10005CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Could be worse. Go Bitcoin go.

Chinese New Year in 2021 is the year of the Ox (effectively a bull, right!)

Actually an ox (or steer) is a former bull.

We won't mention any names.

I ordered a bunch of booze with my last grocery delivery. They've been talking about allowing uber/doordash/etc drivers to deliver mixed drinks from bars lol
Anyway, it sounds like you've got enough to survive on.

Just keep in mind that if you find an "Is AA right for you" pamphlet in your empty recycling bin then you might want to stop and think for a bit...

There's nothing more pathetic than a quitter. Stand strong.

I am black belt in risotto

Like almost any good food, risotto has to start with good stock. The chickens here in Mexico may not be as plump and tender as the ones in Canada, but they make excellent stock.

Hendrick's (coupled with tonic water , ice and lime  has been my best friend during this lockdown.
As for Hendrick's, I'm getting a little worried about my supply. I just finished my second last bottle and I'm trying to hold off opening my last one as long as possible. I have maybe enough Sapphire for 2 drinks and less than a quarter bottle of Tanqueray. My half bottle of Hendrick's Orbium is for extreme emergencies only. It should be in a glass case with a little hammer.

I'm out of rum, wine (except vermouth) and cognac and I'm down to my last half bottles of tequila and Crown Royal.

They blindsided me here with their ban on alcohol. In most civilized countries, alcohol supply is considered essential like food or pharmaceuticals. Here they were worried about maintaining "social order". OMG, it's gangs of rampaging social distancers!

Managed to acquire a little bootleg cerveza from a nearby town and immediately put in an order for as much more and as much tequila as I could get but then they closed down the highway almost immediately so I'm SOL.

Gotta ration, but that's hard when you've been living a life of unbridled decadence for so many years.

Sigh.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still over $7k... currently $7253USD/$10154CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Tumbling tumbleweeds indeed.

Am pretty sure drinking piss with cucumbers in it is a sign of a distressed mind. Best get yourself checked over.
Gin & lemonade my friend but give it another 3 weeks in lockdown & I’ll probably be semi insane, writing bible verses on the walls with my own excrement.

Hendrick's? That'll help keep you sane.

Had to do my infamous pulled pork.

Actually 13 pounds of it.
I will eat pulled pork until end of quarantine.

Yum. Looks good.

I still have some of my last batch of carnitas in the freezer. Nice to see we're surviving quarantine OK. Hopefully won't be reduced having to eat beans and rice (except as side dishes).

...Paul Drake, who runs Drakes supermarket in Adelaide, says he gave the customer the middle finger after the man tried to return approximately 5,000 rolls of toilet paper and 150 one-litre bottles of hand sanitizer earlier this month....
Supply and demand is literally what bitcoin is built on. There is nothing wrong with trying to make a buck.

Yep.

Paul Drake had the supply and wasn't giving back the bucks he made.

 Cool

Some people might use the word "karma":

https://globalnews.ca/news/6827299/coronavirus-toilet-paper/

Quote
A grocery store manager in Australia says he flatly refused to give a coronavirus hoarder a refund, after the shopper tried to return more than $10,000 Australian... worth of toilet paper and other supplies that he’d stockpiled to sell online.

...Paul Drake, who runs Drakes supermarket in Adelaide, says he gave the customer the middle finger after the man tried to return approximately 5,000 rolls of toilet paper and 150 one-litre bottles of hand sanitizer earlier this month....

...Drake says the man was a profiteer who’d been trying to sell the in-demand items online during the pandemic. He went back for a refund after eBay refused to let him sell the items at a steep markup...

...the shopper used a team of 20 buyers to snap up $10,000 worth of toilet paper when the crisis started.

Going long on a low-liquidity asset.

Lawl.
1994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 17, 2020, 03:57:56 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still over $7k (barely)... currently $7050USD/$9896CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Another day another wait.

By the way, in those days the glass bottles were used over and over again.  Recycling as it should be I dare to suggest.

yeah. the glass was so scratched up from use that some almost looked liked sea glass.  i still wonder how many times around some of those bottles had been to get a look like that.

This made me google "refillable beer bottle" and most of what I got was about Oregon bringing out the "return" of the refillable beer bottle.

In Ontario, we've always had and still have returnable beer bottles. In the  1960s, 1970s and into the 1980s they were "stubbies", short robust bottles that took up less room in your fridge, stayed cold longer, and didn't tip over as easily. You could also carry more cases of 24 at once and still see over the top. They were reused  up to 15 times each. They were mostly replaced by long neck bottles during the 1980s but they too are returnable.

Here in Mexico most beer is sold in cans but what is still bottled is in refillable bottles with a fairly hefty deposit. Most single serving bottles are used in bars and restaurants. The only bottles sold in most stores are "caguama" (sea turtle) 1.2 liter (42 imp oz) refillable bottles, the cheapest way to buy beer.

When I was a kid, all milk and soda pop was sold in refillable bottles with bottle deposits. You could buy a coke "drink-in" for $.05, take-out cost $.07.

Isn't inflation fun? Thank you Bitcoin.

It's not smokers that bug me so much right now.

It's the goddamn joggers; huffing and puffing their diseased droplets everywhere, mad in their selfish endorphin haze.

Next time I go out I am taking a cattle prod, long one.

I may think joggers are idiots with their silly striped spandex outfits, jarring their bones on city concrete while breathing carbon monoxide, but I'll defend their right  to make fools of themselves... as long as they wear N-95 face masks and blue latex gloves.

Tranquilo amigo.

You go ahead and hate smoking and I'll go ahead and not give a shit.

I'm too busy hating rules fetishists.

Just where from do you think the power to order others around derives?

Sorry, I have to quote myself on this one:

Quote
Some people have an obedience fetish. They hate choice and free will. In their idea of a perfect world, everything is either obligatory or forbidden. Nothing pleases them more than telling others what to do or being told what to do.

Just where from do you think the power to order others around derives?

I'll take Mao quotes for 500 Alex

Can you invoke Godwin when someone mentions Mao?
