Thanks, like I said its quite a lot of pages to follow along with and I miss a few things. Smiley
No worries - I've added that to the OP too.

Also John did you find out about what I need to buy to get this working? (Power adaptor wise)

Sorry if this has been asked before, so if I have a standard PC PSU (for example from a GPU mining rig). I would be able to power these BE blades, without buying anything extra? is the "adapter" in the videos included in the package?

No problem

This has been asked a few times, so ill clear it up

standard ATX PSU is fine, get something over 400 watts to be safe - youll need to supply 80watts down to the blade (to be safe) - so make sure the PSU can provide 7amps on 12v rails (to be safe) - the 4 pin CPU plug should do the trick (yellow wires) - or preferably the PCI express.

Also, bond the neutrals together and wire into one port on the green adapter, otherwise, in my experience you'll over heat.

I would recommend buying about 4-5 8cm fans to keep this bitch cool, at 1.2volts per lane, she gets hot and needs 2 x on the heatsink, 1 x on the chips, and 1x on the power module to make me feel "ok" about it.

The bot should be programmed to only acknowledge as a bid if the format #@##  is in the beginning of the line of the first paragraph, only.
And that also should be the rule for the rest of us.
Also I wonder if it takes into consideration the , and . since some people here might mistype it (and in some countries it is the reverse, so it is easy to be confused).
Yes, but if the bot did so it'll be broken earlier already.  Cry
Yep, the bot takes in consideration of , and . (seen and proven in a couple pages back).  Grin

I was formatting the bids in the google doc file and exporting it in csv to a table BBCode maker.
The CSV formatting portion of that appspot script will automatically sort the bids, so you only have to manually maintain a time sorted CSV list of bids (from oldest to newest). Smiley

only addition is to remove JessicaMILFson here from the list, and it's golden
You're right, I'll need to add a blacklist feature.
So is the list automatically updated (by scraping this thread or otherwise) or would I need to maintain a CSV file?  Grin
1989  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades on: April 29, 2013, 06:56:50 AM
My auction summary script was a little less confused by Minor Miner Tongue
BitcoinTalk Auctioneer

John, I don't know if you already have something to format your summaries for you or not, but if you've compiled the bids into a CSV list my site can also format directly from CSV:
http://bitcoin-talk-auctioneer.appspot.com/

=P only addition is to remove JessicaMILFson here from the list, and it's golden. I was formatting the bids in the google doc file and exporting it in csv to a table BBCode maker.
1990  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades on: April 29, 2013, 06:49:50 AM
yes, john you are correct.   it looks like my carelessness has killed the bot.   I will await your update and I will ONLY post EXACTLY the way that you tell me from now on.    just for the record i should only have ten units bid for up there and five should be the first units bid at thirty six and five should be at thirty five spot five.    sorry for killing the poor thing.
Keep bidding, never mind. The author stated that it's beta after all.  Smiley
1991  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades on: April 29, 2013, 06:24:17 AM
If you're writing about problems with the bot it might be a good idea to spell out your bids instead of pasting the actual bids; so you hopefully won't confuse the bot further.
Makes sense - the bit maker should've provided me a kill switch in this case Undecided

BOTKILL!

PS: Ignore the bot for now - it's going nuts. I'll delete its posts that are wrong.
1992  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades on: April 29, 2013, 06:22:33 AM
Tongue keep the bids coming guys - John the bot will be in service soon !
1993  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades on: April 29, 2013, 06:18:11 AM
Well, it's not my bot.  Sad
The bot captures the specific words @ and the numbers to automatically constitute the bid. Your last post might've messed up the code altogether I guess, with so many 'bids' popping up in your sentence. I'll be home soon and provide a clear and updated list.
1994  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades on: April 29, 2013, 06:08:31 AM
Well, you should put both active bids together as the old bids are automatically cancelled. Never include the bid you're canceling - the bot cannot determine if you're canceling it or not.
1995  Other / Meta / Re: Auction Bot on: April 29, 2013, 05:23:10 AM
Thanks for the reply Logik. I was reading over that thread yesterday, actually. I was planning on using the jsoup library for scraping by leveraging IKVM, which is a .NET implementation of the Java VM. I'll take a look at your source a little more this weekend. If desired, I might just want to help you build on your library since you already have a head start Tongue. I used to do a lot of work in Java (and it's real similar to C#), so that would not be an issue.

If you had plans to make an auction bot, I don't want to encroach on your idea or work. Let me know what you were thinking.

Haha, no, go for it. It just struck me as an interesting idea but I have so many of those that the chances of me actually building it are close to zero.

Re: The existing bot - I didn't actually know one existed! Interesting.. here is the profile https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=107674;sa=showPosts

Where can we get more info on this bot or its creator? I can't find msm995 by search

PM that bot directly - I might've messed the name up for the moment.
1996  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades on: April 29, 2013, 05:12:41 AM
Hey All,
I know this has been posted a few times and in the original auction but I just want to seek a clear answer on it.
Is the rack mountable case available too?
as seen in this picture http://imgur.com/a/PkOcu#4

Thanks

If you mean the metal rack, it's not for sale.

Timer removed. End time: 2013-04-29+13:25:32

This should be the accurate time - probably a few seconds are off, just follow the actual forum time in such cases. The auction time is 48 hours from the OP posting time exactly.
1998  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades on: April 29, 2013, 03:44:55 AM
John,

Could you please clearly state in the OP the end time of the auction in UTC? Seems there is gap between OP time and coundown timer (~1 hour  Roll Eyes )

The time is based on forum time (which is UTC but off a bit) I'll look into the countdown code - I copied that from Jared's post here so he might've got it wrong. Thanks!
1999  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades on: April 29, 2013, 03:38:14 AM
No need to post a sum or something - just a simple x(@)y will do to avoid confusing the poor bot.  Tongue

Would you open source the bot? Seems like interesting code. Smiley

John makes enough off this community so that 'bot' is probably code for internsittinginthecupboardinthedark. Cheesy

Haha nice Smiley

I barely make enough to hire myself as the internsittinginthedarkcupboard. =p

Nope, that's not my bot. It's msm995's. Didn't you notice me pointing out errors in the bot few pages back, and the owner responded?  Tongue
