1982  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Big International Bitcoin Project on: March 11, 2015, 02:15:21 PM
Hi,

First of all, it is a real pleasure to join the Bitcoin community, our company has been working on a very big internet project for nearly 2 years, we are currently looking for VC to raise the necessary fund for this startup project that will cost around US$ 1.2 million.

Initially, we did not even knew about Bitcoin and was suppose to add some regular credit card solution to this project, however, based on the project requirements and structure, credit card processing has some loopholes like chargebacks, rolling reserve and high transaction fees.

After making some research, we found out that Bitcoin was just the right solution, although Bitcoin is not allowed in some countries, we sincerely think that this will go better in a very near future and that we can start the project even with some missing countries.

I am sure that this project will have a very good impact for the Bitcoin foundation as it will be an advertising resources for many businesses and wealthy individuals around the world, hence, it will be an honor and a pleasure for us to contribute to the growth of such intuitive innovation and future of internet transactions and ecommerce.

Welcome to the community.
I doubt if this is the place to attract money from VCs.
Once your product is up and running, this forum will be a great place for you to popularize it.  Smiley
1983  Other / Meta / Re: Can't enable notify on a forum on: March 11, 2015, 02:09:51 PM
When I click "notify" on a thread, I get a javascript popup asking me to confirm, I choose OK, the page reloads but notify is not enabled for that thread. This is true on both the page itself (link still says notify) and on my subscriptions page (doesn't list any subscriptions).

I haven't received an email to validate my email address yet, and I can't see any way to request that. Do I need to do that before I can subscribe to email notifications? Will it be sent automatically at some point in the next few hours maybe?

I can confirm that it has nothing to do with validating email address.
The problem lies somewhere else.

Here is something which was discussed a year back.
1985  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: QUESTIONS WITHOUT ANSWERS on: March 09, 2015, 05:40:46 PM
I am reading several topics of different members in this forum to fill my knowledge about digital coins for last 2 days.

Great way to start! Make sure you read all the sticky topics

My academic background is Biochemistry but unfortunately I served as banker for 10 years & now I'm a teacher of a poly technique institute. So you can say that I've seen lot of people in my life & read a lot of books & articles in various subjects.

Bankers are usually an envied lot.  Smiley

Bitcoin is just money. It's not here to make us rich or get us out of paying taxes. It's not destined to go to the moon, but it might. It's not going to crash to zero, but this is a social experiment and no one knows the future, so it might.

Of course the future is unpredictable. That is what makes life interesting.

So, what you think? Shall I leave this field or without the help of others do everything what my mid says. In the long run become penniless?

Your call to leave or stay. Why do you say you will become penniless in the long run?

1988  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: newbie question on using TAILS on: March 06, 2015, 12:41:52 AM
Hi guys
I just read somewhere that anonymous bitcoin transactions can be made using TAILS + TOR however I really don't know anything about how this works, I would appreciate if someone could explain this to me. Thanks in advance.

I don't think you really have to worry enough to use TAILs/Tor. Using TAILS/Tor prevents people from finding out your IP address. It doesn't help if you use tor, but follow unsafe practices like reusing BTC addresses.
1989  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is OS really important on: March 05, 2015, 02:44:00 PM
It's been a second since I tried linux for the nth time but I always like how Windows 'just works' (usually).  With Linux it's like constantly googling for the next secret handshake to fix whatever issue.

But.. Linux can def have advantages too
Linux distributions like Ubuntu are opensourced which might be more secure than Windows and you can compile it yourself.

Compile it yourself?
For a beginner, that is really not an option.

Hello every one

1. Are you using the Green Address wallet?
2. How much safe it is according to you?

Thanks

I am not using it.
Will give it some time, to become established, before trying it out.
1991  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin domain listing? on: March 04, 2015, 02:20:56 PM
Hello,

Is there anywhere in the forum I can promote a bitcoin .com domain name please, thank you.

From your user-id & personal message, I guess you want to sell domains.
Try the marketplace section.

Advice from a newbie account?
You have nothing to lose if the price moves the other way.  Smiley
1993  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there a true 'bank' for bitcoin? on: March 04, 2015, 12:37:32 AM

A place where you can give your bitcoins and earn savings or take out loans or whatever the other banks do really , just simply a bitcoin bank?

Not right now. It will still take some time before reliable bitcoin banks develop.  Smiley

I seem to have developed an aversion to bears after bitcoin's price went down earlier, but I am okay with this one.  Smiley

1997  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC Friendly banks? on: March 02, 2015, 12:20:08 AM
Germany's Fidor bank seems to be the first one to guarantee the deposits up to the statutory 100k€. That is definitely BTC-friendly:

This is good.
Hope at some point they start accepting interest-bearing deposits. Smiley
1998  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will soon say bye to $200s. Where will it go then? Up or Down? Vote! on: March 01, 2015, 12:39:21 AM
Thanks for the chance to vote!  Unfortunately, sentiment is usually a contrary indicator, so 76% $300 it not a cause for optimism.

Thanks!

In this forum, you expect people to be bullish.  Smiley
