Great review! Very helpful and comprehensive.

I've read a few threads about cleaning the 741 and it doesn't seem to be all that hard, but I was curious if you have any extra tips for care/maintenance?

One word: compressed air.

Do not vacuum it, because of the risk for static electricity.

Isn’t that Two words?

😂😂

Yes.

Should have said that in Finnish as it is only one word, paineilma.  Grin

Indeed I do.

I have R80k that I want to invest into some miners, my parents own a farm with 3 phase power and it has a flat on it that I can use as a "data center" for the miners.
Dam issue is that when ever I try to buy the miners their price has gone up. Im looking at getting some whattsminers if their price hasn't gone up drastically. Then build it up to about 20-30 miners.
WhatsMiner hardware is legit.

Only official shop to buy those is through Pangolinminer company www.pangolinminer.com

They should have sales open again in about 20 hours.

You can see the M3 review link in my signature.

Bad idea, always use escrow when buying from members with little or no trust rating.

Hi All

Im new to this forum.
Been looking to get into the bitcoin mining, lastnight I got followed by Asinity via Instagram so I decided to check them out  but there is nothing out there about them. I did a lot of googling and came across an ad on Gumtree, from a guy selling 2 of them in the UK. I decided to contact him via whattsapp.

Last night when I was talking to the guy via Whattsapp he said that I can come and view/collect the miners from him, surely if it was a scam they wouldn't allow you to come to their house to collect?
Also while chatting to him last night he mentioned something suspicious, someone had contacted him via LiveChat and asked if he was legit and then asked him whats 5x5...., I can only assume that this was @Fbo62.
My next question would be then, why if someone is contacting the LiveSupport of Asinity did it come through to this guy who placed the ad?
His reason for selling them was that he got caught rigging his electricity and got a 10k pound fine, so he was selling his 2 Asinity miners and 3 Antminers.

I so badly want to believe that this is a valid miner, but cant afford to waste that amount of money.

Regards
Francois

This is a scam, don't go for it.

1986  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 31, 2017, 03:13:31 AM
I still can't understand why Halong Mining chose to send demo units to guys who can't come up with a thorough review within' a reasonable time frame?  Huh

This whole situation is hurting them a lot in a long run, if they actually are real after all.

This is quite obvious scam.

I have asked them and I'm still waiting for the DHL tracking number.

Actually I don't have a clue if they really did ship those before or at December 28 as they originally advertised for the batch I bought.

Didn't come with a power cord. Wish I knew, now I have to wait for that. It's not like the local store has a NEMA 6-20P to C13 lying about. Doh!

Well I did mention the power cord as 'other items needed' in the review.

It's not like they can include every single different power cord that exists in the world, with the psu.

Great, thanks again.

Will blowing some air on intake/outtake have much of an effect or should I just sack up and disassemble entirely for cleaning?

Please remove the fan first, and I would also remove the 'honeycomb' grill too to allow more space for cleaning through the unit with compressed air.

Yeah we have been aware of their roadmap for some time, but no actual specs or release date has been announced for Bitmain's next btc miner.

A hard wire connection would be the most stable and least latency connection.

How much would it cost to have a fibre connection installed in that location?

Anybody had an issue where the miner stucks after a reboot and doesn't start mining?
Web configuration page is accessible and all the settings are ok, but it doesn't start mining.
I have the same issue. Web configuration is accessible but it is showing nothing on status, system and network page and it's keep on loading. Only pool configuration is accessible. Nothing on the pool side as well.

Have you tried upgrading the firmware to the December 22 version?

See my previous post in this thread, it took some time for me before the A5 started hashing.

I'm still gonna say no.

Doesn't make sense to change the stock fans, too risky.

so guys what about the Antminer S9 ? Can it work with Noctua NF-A12 Indu. 3000 PWM ?

No. Not enough cooling effect for the 1.4kW S9

Hi,

may i know how does that block percentage rewards? is it will earn the percentage of the block found?

example block reward 16 BTC, my percentage 0.025%.. so i will earn 0.4 BTC after ramped up?

Thanks
No.

Simple math.

0.025% equals 0.00025 as a decimal number.

0.00025 times 16 is 0.004
2000  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 27, 2017, 06:00:34 PM
It's criticism, not complaining.

If this ends well with a positive note, then I no more have a reason for criticism.

But you must realise we have seen so many scams during history that we are very cautious.

Bring in the proof and we no longer need talks like this.
