2301  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 17, 2017, 05:23:40 PM
How are they shipping the December batch miners before the November batch ones?  Huh

My November 21-30 delivery batch is at the moment showing "unshipped" status.
2302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain has released two GPU miner models: G1 and G2 on: November 16, 2017, 08:40:09 PM
I noticed this review few days ago.

Antminer G2 GPU Mining Rig Review: Let’s Mine Some Altcoins

Looks pretty nicely built to me.
2303  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Antminer S11 releasing! on: November 16, 2017, 08:38:17 PM
I know for that some mining company's have ordered new unknown miners for Q1 2018

From Bitmain?

I only know that Canaan Creative is planning to come up with the new AvalonMiner 821 in Q1 2018.

Bumppety bump.
2305  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: power supply issue... on: November 16, 2017, 01:53:54 PM
Yeah, when it comes to mining it's better to leave atx psu away and only buy server grade psus.
2306  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: November 16, 2017, 01:42:57 PM
I just have to ask.  Is the APW5 that they are talking about here the same one that they have had for awhile?  Because if it's the same as the one I have then it is far from silent.

APW5 is a different psu series than the APW3.

Are you talking about the APW3 series?
Here is the forum thread for the original APW3 psu https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1060439.0

No.

2309  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: November 15, 2017, 02:13:56 PM
I bought ten Ebit E9 Plus miner and six of them need warranty repair.

I've had some trouble getting the warranty repair process forward.

So I'm posting this here so that everyone knows the situation.

As soon as things go better and forward with the warranty repairs, I will post here again.

I hope they step up with this and do the warranty repairs.

Because bad handling with warranty repairs means bad PR, which means less sales orders.
2310  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Running Antminer S9 with 2 HP Server Power Supplies Safe @110v? on: November 14, 2017, 09:30:27 PM
Yes, that is possible.

Use one HP DPS 1200 for two hash boards.

Use another HP DPS 1200 for one hash board and controller.

Turn on the power supply connected to the controller last.

Do not connect the two power supplies in to same hash board, they end up "fighting" each other.
2311  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Baikal giant+ in EU on: November 14, 2017, 12:56:33 PM
I have the Antminer D3 for sale in EU area.
2312  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: November 14, 2017, 12:22:25 PM
Wow, 2kw of power for 11.5Th/s.  That's a lot of power.

Maybe the next version will be a Bitmain killer? Smiley

Thanks for the review.

M
But considering the improvements to the 28nm process that’s very reasonable. Probably was made this way to be somewhat competitive to the S9 and other 14nm miners today. I wouldn’t be surprised if these guys actually beat bitmain at their own efficiency game at this point. Didn’t think there was still more to be squeezed out of 28nm.

Awesome video as always, Phil. Seems odd they would send you a EU plug even though your address was American... maybe they only had EU plugs on the PSUs?

It is actually a power cord with Type I plug, which is not used in EU area, but which is one of the plug types used in China.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_power_plugs_and_sockets

I got the same power cord as well.

I guess they have deciced to include a power cord with the psu, and since China is most likely the largest sell quantity target country, it is then a Type I power cord.
2313  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining does not make any financial sense? on: November 14, 2017, 10:51:23 AM
Cloud mining is bull shit.

Hash rate rental is a real thing, but you really have to think about your strategy is it worth it.

Nicehash and Mining Rig Rentals are legit places to rent hash rate.
2314  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: November 14, 2017, 09:22:35 AM

2315  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Where can i buy an Antminer S9 ? on: November 13, 2017, 05:12:47 PM
Wherever you decide to buy from, do remember that using a reseller means NO Factory Warranty and given the reliability issues Bitmain miners can have - Buyer Beware.

Yes.
As far as I know and have experience, Bitmain factory warranty only stays valid if a private person sells the mining equipment to another private person.
2316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 firmware modification thread (voltage & fan mods) on: November 12, 2017, 11:02:19 PM
This is great project, thanks for doing this.  Smiley

@wham
No problem.
I'm glad that my wild guess was correct.  Cheesy

@Beraturker
Did this provide a solution to your problem as well?
2318  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: November 12, 2017, 06:34:57 PM
I've been getting questions about if this miner can be monitored via Awesome Miner. Does this miner provide a Cgminer API that is similar to Antminers and other ASIC miners?

Yes, see my review for more info (link above).

I sent you my Cgminer API log via pm, if that is any help.  Smiley
2319  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: November 12, 2017, 06:18:02 PM
This might be asking for too much but would you be willing to crack open the miner and take a look at the insides? I'm curious about the technology inside that's doing all this work, especially with the efificency being impressive for 28nm.

Good to know Pangolin are legit, had a feeling they were when they offered to give out review samples.
I will try to have time to do this next week.
Do you mean that you would like to see good detailed pictures from both sides of the hash board?

CE and ROHS available?

I do not trust chinese hardware without proper certification.

I would advice asking them about that, via e-mail sales@pangolinminer.com

How loud are the fans in comparison to Antminer s9?

When it comes to the fan noise, I would say it is pretty much the same level noise.
