There are three i-letters in a row in the e-mail address you mentioned if you look at it closely (innosiiicon).

Smells like a scam.

You can't change the hash board frequency with newer model S9s. Sorry. Period.
2424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: October 21, 2017, 02:05:40 PM
Any suggestions on using some other PSUs on the L3+. I forgot to order PSU from bitmain for the November batch. Will any 1200W PSU from amazon work on it or do some work better? Not interested in spending $350 for just a name brand.

2425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 21, 2017, 11:17:39 AM
My D3 is being shipped without a power supply. Would I be able to use a Corsair or Evga power supply with it? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Anyone? Pleaaase help Sad

Any PSU with 1200W will do, make sure it have 9 pci-e connector.
For normal PSU for computer, You need a pin or "device" to make the PSU run with connect to motherboard
and if PCI-e cable is not enough, you have to find some ext cable to convert other cable to pci-e (please check the Amper before you do it)

There are also a lot secondhand AWP3++ for sale. So its also a option to buy one on ebay or other market place.

If your mains voltage is greater than 208VAC, I would recommend the HP 1200W server power supply kit by sidehack.
See the "DPS1200 PSU Kit" in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=940317.0

I tried overclocking my D3 (September batch)  to the 537Mhz frequency (October batch frequency), but it was not stable at all.   Undecided
2428  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Replacement fan for eBit miner on: October 20, 2017, 06:45:06 PM
You need a certain amount of cooling so changing to a different fan is not the way.

You need to have a soundproof cabinet with good ventilation.

You could ask if sidehack has power supply kits for sale for you.

See the "DPS1200 PSU Kit" in the thread I gave you a link above.

I don't like the whole bitcoin cash -thing, but I exchanged some from Bitfinex when I made an order for the November 21-30 batch that was for sale earlier.
2432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: October 19, 2017, 02:43:09 PM
Just got this email.

Dear A5 Dashmaster Customers,

Thank you for your purchase in Innosilicon products!
We are very happy to share the video of A5 and A4+ miner to you!
See https://youtu.be/9nyIewRpB4U and www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQPsn3PRD7s

As many of you know, the delivery date will be moved back (shipping is expected around late Nov). Innosilicon is offering a special discount, as an apology for our delivery delay.

The discount is as follow:
You will receive 1 free A4+ miner as compensation, as alternative to our promised hashrate compensation.
Please note that the free miner will not be sent at the same time as your purchased miners. They will be sent to you after you have received your original purchase. Their shipping date will be within a month after your purchase’s shipping date.

So delivery is pushed back again, first was mid-Nov, now late-Nov. However, the compensation sounds good, a free A4+ instead of the promised hashrate compensation.

This is great news!

I just asked Innosilicon if this is a legit compensation for real.

I will be doing thorough reviews for both miners (A5 and A4+) here at the forum if it is.

2434  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 741 PSU recommendation please on: October 18, 2017, 02:09:55 PM
Server power supplies are a different story.
They can actually do the 100% load where as the ATX can't.
2435  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: is there a safe way to clean an AvalonMiner 741? on: October 18, 2017, 01:05:39 PM
Using a vacuum cleaner to electronics is a bad idea because of the static electricity.

Use VRobb's advice.
2436  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: October 17, 2017, 09:17:52 PM
This could be big news:
https://bitnewstoday.com/news/technology/patent-argument-can-potentially-reshape-the-mining-market-in-china/
Quote
Patent argument can potentially reshape the mining market in China

Chinese SIPO, or the State Intellectual Property Office of China will be reviewing a complaint from Yang Zuoxing, the former director of design in Bitmain, the vast and very influential mining corporation. Yang Zuoxing is currently leading a rival company by the name of Bitewei. Chinese legislation allows to revoke the patent as long as the complaining party provides all necessary proofs that it, indeed, was the one that invented a discussed innovation in the first place.

Bitmain, in turn, filed a lawsuit against Bitewei, claiming it is trying to infringe Bitmain’s patent rights. If Mr. Zuoxing succeeds, Bitmain will lose patent rights for a key mining component and the market in China will never be the same again, which is absolutely not beneficial for Bitmain and explains why they bothered to file a counter-suit. Mr. Zuoxing tells he expects to hear the decision of Chinese authorities in three months.

China has always been a mining frontier due to the very well-developed electronic components manufacturing in this country. It is much easier to build mining farms and found mining companies in a country that makes electronics and hardware for the whole world, including.
2437  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 741 PSU recommendation please on: October 16, 2017, 09:21:17 PM
There was a lot of psu issues with the APLUSPOWER power supply back in the Antminer S4 days, I would not recommend it.

You would be much better with the HP DPS-1200 FB A server power supply http://www.parallelminer.com/product/1200watt-psu-kit-for-avalon-721-80-platinum-high-efficiency-at-94-120v-240v/

You need the mains voltage 208 V or higher with this particular power supply.
2438  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Setting up an S9 using a Mac - Anyone managed it? on: October 15, 2017, 09:22:38 PM
You could just easily go to your router web configuration page and see the ip address in the local area network ip list.

Thank you, that helped and all set up and running.  Smiley

Nice, good to know and happy to help.
