201  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be ready when it comes to selling? on: March 21, 2024, 12:23:14 PM
I currently have 75% of my crypto on cold storage and 25% on exchange and yesterday I was thinking about when it comes to selling.

I am not thinking of selling anything just yet but maybe will start in a few months once the halving is here and the market starts to really move.

Is it a good idea to still have most of my crypto on cold storage in a few months when the market is pumping and I am wanting to sell or is it best to start moving everything to exchanges which will then make it easier to sell?

I am just thinking it will be a long process having everything on my cold storage and then seeing the market pumping then having to send everything back over to exchange I may miss the best prices to sell as it will take some time to send everything from cold wallet to exchange.

I understand it is more safe to have crypto on cold storage but is it less likely in the peak of a bull run for exchanges to fall? If so, I feel it would be better to send all of my crypto to exchange in advance to then be ready to sell everything.

This may be obvious to some but this is my first bull run and want to be ready when it comes to selling and I am just not sure what is best way of planning to sell.
Just keep it in your cold storage, it's better to be safe than sorry, or leaving much of your coins in an exchange just for the sake of getting more profits. And with that, with the safety concerns, just move it when you think that you are going to sell. It might be just a couple of dollars or even less in your profits. Instead of again, you can't sleep thinking of the big crypto you have in an exchange. There are a lot of criminals plowing around and you don't want to be the next victim of a hack. At the peak of a bull run, I don't think there will be massive like 20% selling at one go. So still there are profits to be made in your end.
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games Paris 2024 - Discussion Thread on: March 21, 2024, 03:16:46 AM
If I have to add my few sats though, might be better to add "Summer" to the title to distinguished it from the "Winter" Olympic games.

As for basketball as this is the sports that I followed, the USA will send their best team again, could be another Redeem team to get back their old glory in Basketball. So stars like Lebron James and Steph Curry. Not only that but the coaching staff as well will be lead by Steve Kerr, Tyronn Lue (L.A. Clippers) and Erik Spoelstra (Miami Heat).

Also might be good to see who will dominate the track and field specially the 100 meters with both US men and women and then their rivalry with the Jamaicans again.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 21, 2024, 02:46:24 AM
One thing I do wonder is the Rockets, looks like they are on a great winning streak and getting closer and closer to Warriors, just 2 win difference, and I think that can be closed with how many players Warriors are missing. Could it happen? I do not know, they played some easy games, and the end stretch of their games looks like against weaker teams. If they can do that, it would be the first playoffs since a while, since the whole Harden era, and these are still very young players, so that would be awesome for them to get that experience.

Plus, Alperen may come back by that time, and if they do that then they could actually play well. Not saying that they will get the position, of course they may not, but at least it looks like we are going to see them end up having a chance, should be very good to see.

If they continue winning games and Warriors continue to struggle there's still chance that they can reached the play-in and yes it was way back Harden Era when they've last compete in the playoffs,  they added new sets of players who contributed well  though their rally might be not enough for the season but like what you said they are still composed of young generation stars and if they keep this squad and there's no changes that take place they can matured more and start moving forward for their chase to win again the title.
We will have to see how his injury his improving, initial reports looks good, but we all know that there are teams who didn't report the full extend of the injuries of their players. I think the Warriors is going full throttle in the last remaining games in this post season and at least extend their season with a play-in. And if they get there, then good for them, just take it a day at a time. Warriors need to win though, they are just 2 games ahead of the Rockets. At least they have control, just play solid games and since Curry is back, chances are they could be in the winning column again.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez - Jaime Munguia May 4 Super Middleweight Championship on: March 21, 2024, 02:14:03 AM

Yes, that's what Mexican are known for, total action in the ring, just like the last great Mexican boxers JCC Sr, or the JMM, MAB and EM, they all give us great fights in the ring and I think it will continue like that for the next generation of Mexican boxers.

Now both are Mexicans so we should expect no clinching but just fighting it out and see who are the best right now. It could define like the transfer of authority to Munguia as the next face of boxing if he beat Nelo hear. Or Canelo still some fire inside of him and continue to welcome anyone, Berlanga, Bivol and David Benavidez in his next fight.

Munguia's time to shine will not come to this fight, what Floyd Mayweather did against the then-young Canelo, Canelo will do the same against Munguia, Canelo is now a polished fighter who knows how to deal with Munguia's eagerness and aggressiveness, Canelo displayed when he fought Mayweather.

I expect a unanimous decision so as not to embarrass Munguia in front of the Mexicans or he will knock Mungia to show the Mexicans how a great Mexican boxer he is.
Its going to be Canelo all the way, could have been different if is Benavide
I don't think we can compare them, Canelo was not even known to American boxing fans that time when he fought Floyd. But here, Munguia is already fighting in the US, handled by Golden Boy already. So his name rings a bell already for some of us who followed as he is in the 154 lbs - 168 lbs now and has become a champion if I'm not mistaken. And I do agree with @Darker45, this is a opportunity for Munguia, so everything rest in his shoulders, whether he can take the limelight and shine or not, still up to him and not on Canelo's hand. He has control of his destiny in this fight.
205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 20, 2024, 01:07:55 PM
I haven't seen anything about Jake Paul cancelling the fight.  Quite the opposite.  It seems like they're both promoting the fight and Jake's last post on the subject was him confirming that he does still want a piece of Mike Tyson.  On the other hand, there has been some talk about Mike having some serious health problems going into this fight.  His trainer has gone on a PR campaign downplaying Tyson's issues, but it seems to me like where there's smoke there's fire and Tyson is probably taking this fight because he needs/wants the payday for his family.  He is risking his health by doing so.  I hope he ends it fast...
Yes, we have not seen anything, and if this is cancelled then it might be the worst decision for Jake Paul. Everything has been set already, his company together with Netflix and Mike Tyson seemingly motivated and training hard base on videos we have seen. Most likely Tyson will get the money that he is getting during his prime, millions in dollars and good for his retirement and for his family and that's why he accepted this fight. And I think he is given a clean bill of health by doctors as well that's why the fight is going to happen even if he is already 58 years old in this fight.
206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 20, 2024, 12:38:10 PM
^^ Great bet on this one. It's halftime and the score is 65-56. Wolves vs Nuggets is a great game, Over 215.5 for me at 1.80 odds. This could be a high scoring game for me. Although there could be defense playing played specially against ANT as he was on fire in last couple of games. But I doubt that they will or can stop ANT. Just enjoying the first quarter now, Jokic as well have scored some points this early. Usually he starts slow and wanted to involved his team first. So good luck to everyone.

Thanks mate, but then It does feel like a lucky hit, going by the tempo of the game in the 2nd half.

—————————————

A 63-points high scoring 1st Quarter has put the Nuggets-Wolves game on the right path to get your win as well, good luck the rest of the way Wink
And that's what I'm banking with I did put on the bet for the game between the Nuggets and the Wolves. And I'm seeing that in the first quarter alone, it will be at least 60 points. There's is also that chance that the game could go in Overtime if only if ANT was able to make that 3. So right now, he still has a lot to improved specially that moment wherein he could alter the game with that one buzzer shot like what Kyrie did the other day against the Nuggets. And maybe at the back of their mind, not again, lol, that a final shot will decide whether the will win or not as they might go into overtime.

208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: March 20, 2024, 12:37:24 AM
A sad reality of online streaming that also doubles as a gambling promotion is that it can have unknown consequences with its widespread reach. As it recently came to light, a fan of Adin Ross took his own life. The controversy however was much more than just this fact. The controversy stemmed from the fact that Adin Ross' editor, being completely apathetic to these news of a man taking his own life, called it "old news" in a dismissive tone.

Source: https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/news-rip-him-adin-ross-editor-confirms-kick-star-reacted-fan-taking-life-due-gambling-addiction

Adin Ross is one of the most famous streamers in the world right now, with his content having hundreds of thousands of hours in watch time. Of course much of his content is direct promotion to slots games and such gambling. Perhaps Kick should add some limits to how "controversial" a streamer can be in their platform. People like Ross were banned from twitch after maaany violations.

What do you think about this? Do such people deserve a platform even on Kick?
At the end of the day, Kick is a business entity and with that, they can still Adin Ross to continue as he is one of their biggest streamers as you have said. Even myself have seen him play. And in response by the editor, he blurted it out and it was put out of context. He said that he thought that Adin Ross already knew the news about it and so he called it "old news". However, we really don't want to hear this kind of bad news and this is the worst thing that gambling can bring to us. Our decisions are very clouded and we can't really separated the reality. Hopefully, this will be the last time that we will hear this news as everyone can recover from our gambling addiction and not thinking of ending our precious life.
209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: March 20, 2024, 12:20:17 AM
I think if we can still invest in this bull run, patiently wait till the end of the year and hold Bitcoin then we will definitely reach the goal.

Yes. time to buy it again. Well, according to some people who sell, it is synonymous with weak hands and this moment will be exploited by collectors during corrections like this. BTC supply normally does not increase or decrease any more.
They could be weak hands, or just using their brain, by selling around $70k'ish and making profit. So I wouldn't call them weak hands though, just smart moves. But for those who got nervous and panic and push the button to sell, then it's going to be a expensive lesson for them. At least if they didn't need the money and sold. So they can either go back again and wait for the price to dip future.

I think, it all depends on each person's trading psychology, if he feels that the time has come, he will definitely sell and if his HOLD level of confidence is strong, I don't think this is even remotely reflected in his mind because the selling figure has been set at a price that provides value with a long waiting time.
Yes, that's exactly what I have described, selling could also bring experience to novice traders. As I have said, if it is not necessary to sell then don't do it. Just continue to be a long term holder and accumulate bitcoin even thru DCA even if we are in the bull run or about to enter the halving.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: March 19, 2024, 02:58:12 PM
^^ Really hard to read what on Ryan's mind right now, if we check his social media, there are videos of him training. But still there are also a lot of fans trolling on him and he was forced to response. So it could still be Ryan going to continue with this fight and training very hard with Derrick James. However, we can't take away from the fans what they are seeing on Ryan to think that Garcia wanted to postponed it. But we will see what happens next, the fight is still on unless we get official announcement from any of the camp. And obviously all the blame will be on Ryan here, and we don't know how he will respond to the trolls after as he will play the mental issues card.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Navarrete Vs Berinchyk Vacant WBO World Lightweight Title May 18 2024 on: March 19, 2024, 02:31:53 PM
Berinchyk is good but not good enough to beat a boxer like Navarrette, Navarrette has been to a lot of great fighters, one of the fights I like is his matches against Dogboe, Dogboe is very aggressive but he knows how to weather aggressive boxers he is a very technical fighter and his ability to throw a lot of punches will overwhelm Berinchyk but this is going to be one hell of a match.

I am betting on Navarette as well but I think it will be UD. But of course, KO option is always open in any boxing match. As Navarette has more fights than Berinchyk, I can say Navarette has higher chance but he should not take this fight lightly. As a challenger, Berinchyk may have his rigid training and be well-prepared for this fight.
38 fights compared to 18?  When it comes to experience then Navarrete would really be having the upperhand. Just like been said that he's a technical fighter and really having those speedy punches
but as we do all know and able to see that there are really boxers which does have that fight gap or experience in between but still ended up on being beaten or lose.
It would really be just that a normal approach that he shouldnt really be taking lightly on Berinchyk but honestly i do expect on KO on this fight or
just like on what you have said about having UD in the end.

And the level of opposition as well, Navarette has fought a lot of world class fighter, as compare to Berinchyk who I say faces less quality opponents and that's why he had that good knockout percentage, specially early in his career. We haven't seen Navarette taking his opponents lightly, maybe some hiccups, but still he ended as champion again. This time, his weight could have been issues and so he need to go up in weight against Berinchyk. I try to check what the odds is on my favorite crypto bookies, but so far it hasn't listed. But I think Navarette will be a huge favorite going into this fight even though he is the one going up in weight.
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 18, 2024, 11:58:49 PM
Regarding Kyrie's winning shot, here is the reaction of Luka,

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/RpATvB4duO8

I guess everyone of us here have the same reaction. I can't believed that he did it against Jokic with his left arm. That is crazy, Jokic's almost got a block, few cm and he could at least touch it to change the shot. Probably one of the best buzzer beater that we have seen in years. And if there is a best game winner of the year award, this could be it and I think everyone would agree.
You mean Kyrie Irving's winning shot. Wink
That was one heck of a shot and he is using his left hand, the weak one. If I was his teammate, I might react the same as Luka did. I mean, that was one incredible shot, the finisher, we only see those magic shots to either Luka or Jokic.
How I wish there was time left after the shot, Jokic might also make some magic if he was given more time.
I bet for the Nuggets on that game so I was okay to let it go to overtime because I needed -3.5 to win my bet. I was shocked in disbelief, it's not every day you will see this kind of thing, so it was damn great.

Mavs was not shooting well behind the three-point line in that game. But they are lucky they are still in a close game against the Nuggets. The offensive rebounds and the 2nd chance opportunities did help them to stay close and better, win it. I might watch the game one more time. Cheesy
Oh sorry for that, yeah it was Kyrie,  Grin. I watched it several times already and seeing the reaction of the team. It's just perfect, shot went it, and the Nuggets doesn't have the time to recover. And the beauty about it, is that he did it against Jokic, left hand and with no time remaining and it snapped Nuggets 5 game winning streak. And as what boxing analyst said, great defense you can't do anything about it. Even coach Malone give credit to Kyrie with that shot. And this overshadowed Bam's winning shot as well, it was a three way behind the line against the Pistons (who would want to lose against the Pistons,  Cheesy).
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 18, 2024, 11:39:14 PM
Don't get afraid with Mike he's fine he's a legend so for sure he's still capable to do what he used to do before in boxing ring. Did you see his latest training? If not you should check this https://www.facebook.com/share/v/3xiBCqP4enBdLHNT/?mibextid=oFDknk I also though he's old already and fighting Jake Paul is kinda risky for him. But if you watch that clip you can see that Tyson is in good condition and its like he never age and can able to dominate his opponent. I'm afraid to watch on what will happen to Jake Paul after watching that clip since Tyson still have that speed and power that's why I expect that he could able to win against Jake Paul in this match.

That clip is only 11 seconds long. A 10 round boxing match is 30 minutes. It’s one thing to look good for an Instagram reel but it tells us nothing with regard to Tyson’s stamina and punch resistance. It’s a nice montage but I would still be hesitant to put money on the 58 year old. Even if Jake is a bum with lousy technique, he is still competent enough to beat an old man who is a faint shadow of his former self. I expect Jake to avoid taking damage in the early rounds and after Tyson gasses out Jake will have no problem landing effective punches. With it being an exhibition I don’t if he will actually try to hurt Tyson but he will do enough to win rounds and try to make it seem like he is on par with an all time legend.

I very much agree with your statement. At the end of the day it won't be a real fight, it will be an exhibition fight where they won't take it so seriously. So I really believe it will just be an exchange of punches between friends
I don't think they're friends though, there could be respect in part of Jake Paul, but if he wanted to really test himself, regardless of who he is facing, he should take the fight seriously and think of it as a pro fight because that's what he wanted to portray in public. And if I'm not mistaken, WBC is seriously tinkering on the idea that they will give him a ranking so that he can become a pro. Anyway, as others have said, this is just a exhibition and money is the main motivation for both fighters. They've released videos of them training specially Mike Tyson, so he is on the boat to promote and how to hype this fight so that fans are going to flock and watch it live and expect a sold out tickets.
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The impact of Bitcoin ETF on Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market! on: March 18, 2024, 11:17:02 PM
The recent approval of Bitcoin ETFs has opened a new turning point for Bitcoin as well as the cryptocurrency market. It brings extremely positive impacts to the development of this market in the future. Let me list what those impacts include!

1. Attracting traditional investors
The EFT Bitcoin Fund is like a certificate proving the legitimacy of this market. It helps traditional investors alleviate concerns about the legitimacy of this market. They boldly pour capital into this market through ETF funds, and this is not a small and extremely stable source of capital for the market. It will create a good premise for countries that previously banned or did not support Bitcoin to become more open in the near future.
I think this was really the first goal of entities that apply and been approved to handle Bitcoin ETF's. It will somewhat bring a sense of legitimacy as this is the main concern of some traditional investors. Although it's going to be still very volatile and decentralized and very technical for traditional investors, but at least this entities will give them the option for them not to worry about it. And that's what we then see there, as millions if not billions already is flowing in the market since last month and pushing the price to new all time high. And now even UK financial watchdogs is allowing crypto asset-backed ETN market for professional investors.

Quote
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will not object to requests from Recognised Investment Exchanges (RIEs) to create a UK listed market segment for cryptoasset-backed Exchange Traded Notes (cETNs). These products would be available for professional investors, such as investment firms and credit institutions authorised or regulated to operate in financial markets only.

https://www.fca.org.uk/news/statements/fca-updates-position-cryptoasset-exchange-traded-notes-professional-investors

So this could be the domino effect and maybe some countries in Europe could follow too.

216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 18, 2024, 10:17:37 AM
@FinneysTrueVision. Is this fight for Pacman a comeback fight or is this only an exhibition? He is 45 years old already, will he fight again if he wins against Conor Benn? This will be headshaking, however, I will certainly watch these fights hehee.

On Anthony Joshua, presently it appears much of the fans of boxing are speculating a fight between him and Tyson Fury. But would it not be much better if he should challenge Oleksandr Usyk again? I reckon this new Joshua might knockout Usyk. Ben Davison appears to have made Anthony Joshua discover something from himself.
He will have a exhibition fight with Buakaw, so obviously, it's like that. But against Conor Benn, I reckon it will be a pro-boxing fight. Pacquaio still looks in shape and probably still walking around 147-154 lbs and not getting weight. It's really on his genes. Conor Benn is a welterweight, so it's a perfect fight for Manny to fight. And I do agree, Manny i still in the limelight, he has been in Saudi and seen with high profile fights. So most likely this fight is being work already by Sean Gibbons, Manny's promotional honcho. Regarding AJ, it is speculated that he will be facing the winner of Usyk vs Fury, so in any case, whoever wins still a good for AJ. So might want a Fury vs AJ though, battle of Brits, and it's going to be big.
217  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is rising faster and faster, It is time to Buy Bitcoin ! on: March 16, 2024, 08:43:00 AM
Another excellent "time to buy bitcoin" for those who have missed out on buying it when the bull run hadn't started yet, is inside corrections such as now. After each big rise, there is always a smaller drop known as a "correction" like what we saw after going above $70k and setting a new ATH. After that correction and inside the dip is an excellent time to take advantage of the temporary discount and purchase bitcoin.
Yeah, it was just short lived though, and with that, investors should be really very quick in pulling the trigger to buy. It went down to $66k and it's been fluctuating from $68k-$70k. So good for those who have bought during the lows of $66k as easy as that, they are in profits already. Of course, we will wait for it to increased more. New all time high has been reached, but we are still very far from the all time high that we are predicting which is at least $100k, or 6 digits. It will be first time as well if we get to that price and for sure everyone is going to be happy. So still a lot of time for us to accumulate even as this current price, just continue to stack sats and then just HODL.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: March 16, 2024, 07:45:50 AM
There is news that ticket sales are not taking off it's only a month to go before this match but there are still unsold tickets one of the reasons is the pricey tickets and hype of the match.
Another reason is the location of the match

Quote
Bad Match, Bad Location Staging the Haney vs. Ryan fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, wasn’t exactly the smartest thing the event organizers could have done, considering Garcia is from California and Devin is a Las Vegas fighter. Did the event organizers think Ryan & Devin’s fans would fly across the country to see this fight in New York? Do you know how expensive that is?

Source: Why Haney Vs. Garcia Tickets Aren't Flying Off The Shelves - Boxing News 24 (https://www.boxingnews24.com/2024/03/why-haney-vs-garcia-tickets-arent-flying-off-the-shelves/)

The press conferences are turning into a big circus they should act as professionals and take the promotion seriously if they don't want this to turn into a big flop.

I thought the promoters know what they are doing, they are in command of the organizers and as to when this fight will take place. I guess the hype is not as big as the Tank Vs Garcia before since they were both undefeated but now Ryan has 1 loss, while Haney his opponent is a boring fight, at least for me.

So the hype that the tickets will be sold out soon is just a wrong expectation, but let's see, there's still time since they still have more than a month before the fight. I'm sure they'll continue to sell tickets until it's sold out ( hopefully).
I think it is still as big as Tank vs Ryan though, if you have seen it, Ryan has promoted this fight even prior to the kick off conference wherein they were in a shoving match. And then during the press conference, words have been thrown against each other. Although following that it seems it took a dark turn on Ryan as he display some sort of mental breakdown. And we don't know if it is for real or Ryan just playing it out to the crowd and his fans so that it will get another huge hype and earning them millions in PPV and live gate sales.
219  Economy / Economics / Re: DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS on: March 15, 2024, 11:13:04 AM
Poverty eradication can be held or seen in different forms.Poverty entails more than the lack of income and productive resources to ensure sustainable livelihoods. They include hunger and malnutrition, inadequate access to good education and lots more.
Poverty in this 21st century should be eradicated individually and not otherwise.Even with the information/Education that they have living their desired lifestyle seems difficult for them. The solution is right with us;no one is coming to fix your life for you.
Once you've found another means of living well, you can obviously connect to whatever it is you want to achieve without having interest on the governments method.

But regardless on how we define it, government all over the world specially in 3rd world countries are going their best to eradicate it. Unfortunately, it will not be that easy, it might even take centuries to completely curb it out and it's a very complex approach. So I will say that there will be no magic bean for it. Government will really need to developed programs within their country, and sustained it for a long time. The problem is that some form of government changes like every 4-6 years and so the previous government can't sustain what they have started. And so the cycle continues, new government enter, try to solved the problem again with new programs that might or might not effective. And it will only be achieved if everyone will join together, private and government  in addressing poverty through various strategies and policies.
220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is really unexpected on: March 15, 2024, 10:22:59 AM
I think the morals of the story is that it has a good ending. You didn't force yourself to stretch your winning or your luck. You have your goal to at least win from that small bankroll to $200 and buy your dream guitar. Other's might not have a good ending though, even if they win big, they will continue to gamble and wanted more. And as we discussed here, it's more on a greed, but you have total control and hopefully others will learn from your experience. Well, we could played for more and who knows, you could still won, but we don't know as gambling is based on pure luck and unpredictable.
