2001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: February 05, 2016, 06:30:07 PM
My picks for tonight's games:

Chicago Bulls @ Denver Nuggets - Chicago Bulls @ 2.1
The Bulls are a mess and a very irregular team but I will take the risk with these odds, those guys have experience and can get the close win if needed against the Nuggets.

Indiana Pacers @ Atlanta Hawks - Atlanta Hawks @ 1.44
Those are not amazing odds but they are relatively high for the Hawks playing at home. Indiana is much more powerful at their own court than on the road, they can definitely give Atlanta some problems but I don't think they can actually win this one.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Utah Jazz - Over 190.5pts @ 1.95
I like those odds for any NBA game but of course there's some risk since these two are not known for being high scoring powerhouses.
2002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we get sex workers to use bitcoin? on: February 05, 2016, 06:21:32 PM
Most sex workers do not pay taxes like we do. The money goes straight to their pimp and they get a share. We are talking millions of dollars not going

through bank accounts. They cannot use bank accounts or the IRS will hunt their ass. {excuse the pun} So most of this money are used for drugs and

booze. Bitcoin will leave a trace or a traceable record of their earnings and this will be the problem. I would prefer them regulating this area and

using Bitcoin to do that, but they will never support that. Tax free income is the number one goal for them.  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin will never leave a record now because it's still far from being regulated in most countries if not all. I agree that sex workers should be using Bitcoin, along with narcs, arms dealing, terrorism, etc. Another great headline for the world so Bitcoin continues to pile up bad press after bad press really. I'm not condemning this post of any reply, but I've become aware of how bad Bitcoin image has gotten lately and many of us are still clueless thinking Bitcoin is some kind of pristine paradise/shelter where people hold hands and use decentralized money forever.
2003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin fails - what is Plan B? on: February 05, 2016, 05:53:00 PM
I can speak for myself and lately I've fled to the altcoin community, not with all my savings of course but I've tried to diversify a little bit since there's like a mini gold rush right now so you may as well do some BTC if you know what you are doing. There's also the possibility that you can get into a new upcoming project (there are plenty of it) that eventually can become more popular than Bitcoin ever did. In many ways I feel Bitcoin had its time and it's in a long agony right now unless it can pull out a miracle, there's just absolutely no demand for it from the average consumer.
2004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take it from me: Bitcoin will NOT die in our lifetime. on: February 05, 2016, 05:50:32 PM
A while ago I posted an idea of using blockchain and it's "public account book" as a way to manage state or city expenses and taxes so every citizen can have access to the funds the current government has assigned. However, there are many good ideas like this, but what we read everyday is mostly bad press on top of bad press for Bitcoin. Lately for example is "Europe" trying to end privacy on Bitcoin due to illegal activities and terrorism.

I once thought the future was bright but I've realized that Bitcoin image is just too much tainted for its own good. The common person does not have a neutral position on Bitcoin (if they remotely know something about it). It's a bad one, something illegal that hackers use or nonsense like that. I guarantee it.
2005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Choose the Best Bitcoin Gambling Site? on: February 05, 2016, 05:46:45 PM
I think we have a great community here so this should be the top one source of information for deciding the best site to gamble. One should always search for feedback, comments and reviews since all major casino sites are featured somewhere here. On a personal note, check the signature campaigns one, if they have been paying and running for some time without any issues then you know they are at least responsible and professional.

2007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money Laundering "Not Possible" with Bitcoin? on: February 05, 2016, 08:34:53 AM
After reading many posts here I think the conclusion is that if a person was under investigation then he will be exposed unless he can actually prove how it got its fortune. It really depends on the country but if you want to launder Bitcoin, you can create an online casino o similar site and forge the visits, income, etc. If they are incompetent investigators like most of the 3rd world they won't even notice or care what a blockchain or a Bitcoin is really. There should really be a lot of money involved for them to investigate at full capacity.
2008  Economy / Economics / Re: Nostalgia already: "...Bitcoin...is worth nearly a dollar..." on: February 05, 2016, 08:29:07 AM
To me there's only one issue and that's that Bitcoin hasn't been able to generate actual demand from the mainstream. The technical aspects can all be sorted out eventually really if the developers come to an agreement or adopt new ideas from new projects. But common people won't use Bitcoin in a million of years if it doesn't present in a different and more accessible way.
2009  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: February 05, 2016, 08:24:17 AM
I commend your spirit and loyalty but for me this recent hit was a hard one, I'm not actually sure Bitcoin can recover. At least we are seeing some signs, we could touch $400 so if you want to get out then you still have a shot hehe. If we can keep this trend then I think there's a chance to close the year around $500-600. But the core issues about Bitcoin will remain and those will have to be addressed sooner or later I'm afraid.
2010  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptsy plot thickens on: February 05, 2016, 08:20:54 AM
That is big time BS, I simply do not buy that. The fact which remains is that he intentionally hid the fact Cryptsy was insolvent for a lot of time.

Exactly, he knew all along money was missing and tried to cover it up even if it was for a "good" cause. This all seems like a perfect scapegoat but it's too late. Either way its always an inside job for every hack, hackers can't get into highly secured servers without confidential info and from the other side of the world. It's not an 80s movie where they hacked the CIA with a landline and a trojan.
2011  Economy / Gambling / Re: betcoin.tm is a shady operating site on: February 05, 2016, 03:16:50 AM
I'm not sure betcoin is at fault here or what, but I sort of have some sympathy for many services providers lately since you won't ever see a thread praising the good work of a site or casino hehe. I'm not saying that we shouldn't complain or put pressure on the site if it's at fault but many of these accusations seems very rushed and out of line really, I wonder if they come from competitors sites.
2012  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your predictions for 2016 on: February 05, 2016, 03:12:15 AM
Well first I thought Bitcoin was done for after Hearn statements and public reaction, and I still believe the damage is done but just time after time Bitcoin keeps coming back. Today we saw a big spike and I'm sure we'll touch $400 next week. If Bitcoin manages to continue its uptrend towards the halving then we most definitely close the year around $500-600.

However, for me, the problem still is that Bitcoin needs to create more demand from the mainstream in order to truly survive in the upcoming years.
2013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: February 05, 2016, 02:35:26 AM
Wow the Suns actually came out full throttle indeed, let's see if they can keep it up...I didn't place a bet but just considering many did would be fun to watch.
2014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD... on: February 05, 2016, 02:31:58 AM
I thought it was and I still think it's mortally wounded but these recent vital signs are kinda giving me the idea that Bitcoin is really worse than a cat, 99 lives indeed. Either way I firmly believe something drastic need to change in the next upcoming months or years for Bitcoin to actually get traction in the mainstream. If it doesn't create a demand from common and casual internet users (you know, like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc) then it is doomed, it can't survive just as a commodity or speculation tool.
2015  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: February 04, 2016, 07:09:50 PM
I thought the price was heading to $300 but it's nice to see some good support and more at $360, today we've seen almost $390 so I guess BTC is showing some vital signs. Maybe it is a great time to buy below $400 if you think that way...perhaps the last chance it just depends on your long term faith on the project.
2016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: February 04, 2016, 07:07:58 PM
Los Angeles Lakers has very poor offense and New Orleans Pelicans have pretty good chance to beat by big margin that is why i have handicap -10 New Orleans Pelicans, i am hopeful this will be nice there.

The problem with Pelicans are consistency, they can beat anybody but can lose the same. But yes I agree with you on -10 Pelicans.

I agree, I've seen so many close games that the Pelicans just give away. And sometimes what's worse is that Anthony Davis gets hurt in the first quarter and you know you are doomed. In every Pelicans game there's a big change that Davis will come out and you are screwed...he's a very fragile player.
2017  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: DirectBet Basketball Prediction Game *** Win Free Bets ! *** Free to Enter ! on: February 04, 2016, 06:46:54 PM
Toronto Raptors 102 @ 98 Portland Trail Blazers
2018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: February 04, 2016, 05:47:10 PM
Here are my picks for tonight:

Toronto Raptors @ Portland Trail Blazers - Toronto Raptors @ 1.91
Great odds for Toronto, they are not playing at home and the Blazers have been particularly strong defending their home court but I feel these odds can't be passed as Toronto just have too much firepower to get a win here.

New York Knicks @ Detroit Pistons - Under 203.5 pts @ 1.800
Both teams have been played at a mediocre level, especially considering their offensive efforts so I think this is a very logical and safe bet. Plus depending how the hack a Drummond strategy goes the game could be very slow tempo.
2019  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Xapo faucets dying breed on: February 04, 2016, 05:10:25 PM
Faucets are just a good way to get beginners into Bitcoin and learn about the ins and outs of the system. Getting them comfortable with wallets, keys, address, qr codes, processing times, etc. They helped me when I started but quickly I realized how pointless and worthless they are. I think lately the demand has dropped because either they are paying even less or people are quicker to realize they are wasting their time.
2020  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Never trust an online wallet, for those who don't know on: February 04, 2016, 04:48:40 PM
I st ill kept using blockchain wallet just to  keep few coins there. I just recently installed multibithd wallet to my windows laptop when i tried trading on secondstrade for it works trading on them. From then on I tried saving my coins to this multibit wallet jsut to save coins before i lose it to some dice and betting sites.

there is big difference between blockchain.info 's wallet and XAPO 's wallet

if you read OP he is talking about the rules that these sites (like xapo) have that allows them to block you account and money while you don't have access to your private keys to withdraw your bitcoin.

but bc.i wallet (although not safe) it gives you your private keys and is safer than xapo IMO.

Xapo is a service aimed to make Bitcoin more accesible for the casual bitcoiner (especially the very beginners using faucets for example). I agree that there should be an option somewhere to access your private keys but for common persons using another type of wallet is too complicated, that's why Bitcoin adoption rates are horrible and it's facing a very hard time right now.
