2021  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Avalon 4.1 Miner 1.3 TH 40+ units on: June 29, 2015, 07:44:20 PM
Ok so latest from Avalon is that they are completely sold out of new units, but have used units to sell. If people don't care that they are used I will try and negotiate a price for used.
2022  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: June 23, 2015, 03:40:34 PM
Its two boards at 12 chips each board....what they want to charge for this won't make it viable for a home miner Ill tell you that much.
2023  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S5 custom cooling updated!! on: June 22, 2015, 05:30:57 PM
What degree difference does it seem to make having that on them?   Also you might look into the 3d and other mods to close the top of your going to that much work on bottom.

closing the top of s-5's is a bad idea.

closing the bottom is a good idea.

at least my tests have shown me that:

a closed bottom helps and a closed top and bottom does not help.

I wanted to send him one of my fans since it is a large fan and would generate more air across the bottom heatsink he attached.

My guess is the only improvement to his idea is getting some air on that bottom heat sink.  For air cooling my guess is his idea of that bottom heatsink is really good.

Have you tested the 3d set or what did you test to close it? Did you test a vertical setup?   I think they also have been putting them vertical with the 3d ones which would make a big difference on heat direction with a vertical orientation.

I would love to see some of your testing if you don't mind posting Smiley .

I did 1 unit vertical and decided to not document it since I knew I would not run  a lot of s-5's.

I found on a push pull setup air leaks at the bottom and the top of the unit.

but the top air leak does 2 things it runs air directly at the temp sensors and at the controller.

if you fully cover an s-5 and use push pull fans   the air that cools the controller/temp sensors is redirected out of the pull fan. so it does not work so good.

if you fully seal the bottom which I did with  a temp resistant rubber pad  no air leaks out the bottom.  so that air runs upwards and at the pull fan.

so the temp sensors get more air and the pull fan gets more air. thus it cools better.

this setup by the op looks really good maybe the best air cooled s-5 I have seen.

if he just had a little more fan action on that added heatsink it would be great.

You do understand that just because more air is running over the temp sensor does not mean its running "better" or "cooler."

Running air through the sides (opposite the heatsink) does absolutely nothing in cooling the actual ASIC chips, which is what we care about. All this does it lower the temp of the temp sensor, which just gives a lower non accurate temperature reading.

Closing the top and bottom is the best way to direct the maximum amount of airflow over the heatsinks, which is the only thing that cools the chips. This will also give a more accurate sensor reading as well.

2026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [WTS] Zeus Thunder X2 Scrypt ASIC 23MH+ on: June 22, 2015, 05:12:07 AM
How much are you willing to sell this, do you ship world wide?

sure if you want to pay the shipping for it.
2027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [WTS] Zeus Thunder X2 Scrypt ASIC 23MH+ on: June 21, 2015, 12:21:42 AM
Have a Zeus thunder x2 thats been sitting around if anyone would like to buy it. It was running at over 23MH using around 600 watts last time I ran it. Scrypt asics are pretty rare these days and now that Litecoin has doubled in price and continues to rise these could be pretty valuable.

I already have two 256 MH units so my electric capacity is maxed out which is why I'm not running them.

PM me with offers!
2028  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 + 3D printied mods on: June 17, 2015, 08:24:39 PM
I sent a pm to get on the list if you guys are still printing these!!

Sent ya a PM...

Im pretty much caught up with everyone if people still want these printed for cheap let me know!
2029  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Private Solo Pool , Need Partners on: June 12, 2015, 09:02:36 PM
I mention that working alone in pool will safe your hash as no competitors with you , you will mine alone until you discover the block .

I wouldn't mine with anybody who thinks mining in a pool means you're competing with others.  You're NEVER doing the same work as the other miners on the same pool.

You are *always* competing with THE ENTIRE NETWORK, no matter if you're solo mining, pool mining, or solo pool mining.
I'm doing a bit of reading between the lines here, but I *think* he's trying to state that if you choose to mine with him, you'll get your very own instance of ckpool.  On that particular pool instance you won't have any miners besides your own.  I could be wrong, though since as I said I'm reading between the lines Smiley

Nah what he is trying to state is that you will mine on his "private" pool, and when YOU hit a block with your hash power he will run with the 25 BTC.

Nice way to scam someone out of 5k... I applaud your effort OP, but nice try.

OMG        Its a sink of insects

They are not even read my post , Creating Pools with user address and server login . So user have ability to change, monitor, manage  and operate his pool .

Untill now I have 2 pools already running in 2 different servers .

Developers , programmers , Serious users will have Access right now to my servers .  Its not to prove (Because I don't care for Insects) Its just to start working .

please don't call me an insect, I am a beautiful ladybug

I don't think mining is for you if your seriously care whether a chinese bitcoin hardware manufacturer is complying with US FCC regs...lol

whats the max diff your stratum server can take? Just tried setting a 131,072 diff but it knocked me down to 65,536. Do you have an asic specific server in the US?

There was a soft limit at 65,536, I've bumped it to 131,072 now. If you need anything higher than that just send an email to support, but keep in mind that 65k was already pretty high. For a 500 MH/s miner, 131k corresponds to an average of one share every 17 seconds.

Thanks...trying to get the Alcheminer 256 scrypt machines to work at full speed and seems like they like really high diffs, want to see what a 100k diff will do to the speed!
2033  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: Results of The Best Miner is…Contest [Updated 26/05/15] on: June 10, 2015, 01:29:23 AM
DHL was fast.

Nice! keep us updated when you have the chip working...did they provide the firmware for it?

How big is the chip? looks pretty big compared to most SHA/scrypt chips.

put this model in on shapeways.com just got half of the bottom plate tis $47 lol

Im doing the whole set for 35 + shipping. Just pays for material costs and few dollars for my time. Send me a PM if you want to be added to the list. Printer is printing full time now but I have about a weeks worth of parts to print and ship currently (takes about 12 hours to make a whole set).
2036  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 + 3D printied mods on: June 02, 2015, 07:25:11 PM
Got my printer all set up for these, here are a few first test prints:

and were ready for mass production!

Printing my last sets that I need and should start shipping the sets people have contacted me about  by the end of the week! (takes about 12 hours to print a whole set).
2037  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: IBM 2880W Bladecenter PSU Breakout Boards - 80+ Platinum power on: June 01, 2015, 07:31:49 PM
I was about to buy one of these but want to confirm here whether these will run on American 240v (which is +120v hot, -120v hot, and ground). Most modern psu can take almost anything but since this is a dedicated server 240 psu I just want to confirm it does not require a +240v hot, neutral, and ground connection.
2038  Economy / Services / Looking for ASIC driver developer on: May 31, 2015, 06:59:22 AM
Looking for a developer that knows how ASICS work and how they interface with cgminer/bfgminer etc. Paying for a quick existing driver port into bfgminer (a lot of the work has already been done).
2039  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: IBM 2880W Bladecenter PSU Breakout Boards - 80+ Platinum power on: May 30, 2015, 07:57:21 PM
Do you have a C19 to C13 adapter for these? Or a C19 to 240V outlet cable?
2040  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 + 3D printied mods on: May 30, 2015, 05:27:43 PM
if someone from usa makes these i would be interested in a top and bottom plate set.. i dont need the legs or the fan extension.

Im printing these out for few people in the US once I get my 3d printer up and running again. Ill charge cost in material plus a few bucks for my time and shipping cost. It will probably end up being around 5 bucks a piece.

A full set of the will take around 20 hours to print btw and I need to print 4 sets for me plus two people already wanting them so turn around might be a week or more. I have to buy myself one of those new laser resin printers  Grin

(fyi "cheap" printing shops charge around $10 an hour to print, and were quoting me around 200 to print a set so i didn't have to wait for my printer to finish all of them, which is laughable)
