Sapphire 570 4GB Mini Elpida - strap 1750 - 1110/2040/-96mvgpu/30+target = 26,3-26,4 @ 164w on the wall = 169 USD newegg very nice
Your doing something wrong, I have this card at 29.5 MH @ 130 watts. Definitely the best bang for buck for the current 500 series line. Ok I lied, thats not the best card...check out this one I just got in (GPU1 in Claymore)...100 watts at the wall on a -275mv offset!!! I guess these really do have way better silicon.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner

Does anyone know how many L3+ bitmain was going to sell in 2017? I havent seen any numbers regarding this. Thanks.
That's literally the million dollar question. if they only produce what was originally rumored 900GH worth of miners, then that comes to about 1785 L3+ miners. If they produce less than that, they will have more value, if they produce more than that, they will have less value -- UNLESS the price of LTC jumps up higher than it is now. 900GH Source https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite/status/851126773349621760Where have you guys been?? They have already added over 2000GH to the network in a span of a month, and don't seem to be stopping until they milk this cow dry. I wouldn't expect them to stop until the ROI on these things are in the 10-12 month range. So at current prices were looking at a network hashrate of 15 TH by the end of the year.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Impact of memory size (4 / 8GB) of RX480 on DAG size and perf
|
on: May 01, 2017, 08:47:06 PM

Hello, As stated on this website :http://crypto-mining.xyz/eth/ethereum-dag-size-predictions/, The DAG started at 1 GB at the time of the Frontier launch, and increases by approximately 0.73x per year. Current size is about 1.80 GB as of mid-November 2016.
Estimation:
The 2GB limit will be reached December 2016 The 3GB limit will be reached April 2018 The 4GB limit will be reached September 2019 From your observations, would you consider that 4gb memory GPUs could be obsolete and useless for mining before performance is negative because of dag size which in any way would prevent profitable mining? Also, is there a significant difference of performance between RX480 4GB and 8GB which would justify opting for 8gb version? There is no reason to go with a 8GB card for eth mining. It will perform exactly the same (there are variances between different memory types but thats about it). Eth will also be POS by the time the 4GB limit is reached.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The Vega benchmark has it barely beating a 1070, here's why that's good.
|
on: May 01, 2017, 08:43:19 PM

I don't see any scenario where a vega card can beat out a 570.
2x570 = ~60 MH / 280 watts / $340
High end Vega w/ HBM 2 = ~40-50 MH / ~250 watts / ~$500-600
Low end Vega w/ GDDR5/x = ~30-40 MH / ~200 watts / ~400-500
The only way I see the low end vega outdoing the 570 is if it under-clocks/volts really well, and you can fit two of these cards in the same power envelope as 2x570, and be able to kick out about 80 MH using < 300 watts. If they go aggressive on pricing and its under $400 per card then that would make sense.

LIGHTNINGASIC launching GPU miner. 8X GPU, 16XGPU, UP TO 32XGPU. waite for our good news. Here is some nice pics: If I understand this correctly, this image is an Add in PCIe 16x board that you can run 8 risers to? This is an entirely separate product from your $2000 LightningASIC 8 GPU miner correct? If so I would be really interested in this add in card, as I am sure many of us will be. What motherboard/CPU combinations is this compatible with - do you have a compatibility list? When will this be available to purchase? What is this going to cost? Can this be coupled with any regular risers? Also, the 8GPU lightningasic miner, would you be willing to sell it barebones - minus the cards/PSU? It won't be compatable with any current off the shelf MB, it's just a switch (like the 3 port one that's been around forever...this just has 8 ). I was thinking of going this route with my 16 gpu solution, but the switch aspect is only half the story. You need a motherboard that can actually handle more than 6-8 GPUs So beware if you think you can buy this and magically post more than 8 GPUs on off the shelf current gen mothboards most of you use for GPU mining.

For mem straps, we can probably do the same as now - Copy straps from 2 timings lower. 1625 > 1750 & 2000 for 8GB cards. 1500 > 1625 & 1750 for 4GB cards. Voltage and clocks will be a matter of trial & error & preference.
Except you wont have polarisbioseditor to do it Better start learning how to do it by hand.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why wouldnt Bitmain keep the new Litecoin miners for themselves?
|
on: April 14, 2017, 08:44:03 PM

No one really knows? Talk about a red flag......
Nobody bothers to answer. It is simple. If they would use all their hardware themselves they would dominate the network, LTC would crash and everyone looses. Could they not create other pools, or direct hash elswhere to make it look like a totally separate entity is mining not under bitmains control? They already have, its called LTC1BTC. This is why the only non segwit signaling pools are Antpool and LTC1BTC...

288 chips on each unit. 1M chips around 3.5k units. That sounds realistic.
Yep, I neglected to consider the 288 chips per rig. My bad. Ok, I can see how 3.5k units could sell out in a day. If anyone has second thoughts, please let me know as I would like to get one if possible. Based on my estimated size per chip, they are probably producing 100k chips per wafer batch. So about 300-500 units per batch. This is inline with the first L3 batch that bumped hashrate up by about 200-300 GH. To be safe figure they are producing 500 per batch, for a total of 1,500 units for the 3 batches. Your looking at least 750 GH of hashrate added to network. So at least 3.5 TH by July. I would base any ROI calculations on that. And of course you can assume they'll do what they did with the L3 buyers that got screwed...sell double the hashrate miner for half the cost in july again
