Yea, that makes me very upset, I was purchasing zeus only simply because of this...

-ANNOUNCEMENT-

Right now http://burst.ga pool is on the new balancer we setup, and DNS records are updated, This means that miners may have to restart their miners, but then you shouldn't have to ever again.

The pool is back being a failover right now, but it's not in it's permanent final setup quite yet, but we can definitely take more miners right now, and no more restarting should be necessary.

So, let's do it!!

Thank you!

Hello!
...
So the highlights for option 1 are:
2x Zeus Hurricane cca 14500 KH/s
...
both are upgreadable to 65MH/s, this means 130MH/s for a half the power consumption - officially by Zeus company

It should be worth noting that Zeus has cancelled the blade upgrade program and will likely not (at this point) ever ship the Gen3 blades as upgrades to existing miners.  They are instead focusing on cloud hashing through their ZenHash service.  Pre-orders of the blade and volcano units have either been converted to cloud hashing (at about double the price) or refunded...

For more details, read here:

http://cryptomining-blog.com/3711-zeusminer-cancelling-volcano-focusing-on-cloud-mining/

Wow, this is some seriously shitty news.

Okay, we're going to make the changes, so any of our miners once you notice issues, restart the miners, and you should be good to go, shouldn't be any more restarts required after this. Thanks!

My partner will be making the IP changes soon, so if you notice the miner not working right, just restart it, and everything should be great after that!

edit: Not exactly sure how long it will take him to read my message and make the changes, so I will post another message once I know it's been done for sure.

Updates on status of http://burst.ga pool Smiley

Hello everyone! I have been working very diligently to make sure we have everything setup perfectly, and redundantly. This is what I have come up with so far...

We will have 3, possibly 4 servers for this redundancy.

Server 1 will be a small linux VM (in a data center) that will function as the balancer/failover server. The point of this is so that the miners never have to change the IP they're pointing to, and thus never have to worry about restarting, etc. Good for miners!

Server 2 will be the main pool server, it will be running on a dedicated rackserver in a data center. This server will be the main pool server, and shouldn't hardly ever be down.

Server 3 will be the backup pool server. (This is currently the server the pool is running on.) This server is a rackserver running VMWare ESXi. This server's only purpose is to be the temporary backup in the case that the main server goes down. This server will not have payments enabled once the final setup is completed, so payments will only happen when on the main server. But we are hoping that the backup server hardly ever gets used. That's the ideal scenario, only use it when absolutely necessary, to keep miners connected until the main server comes back up. that's it.

RIGHT NOW...

I am setting up a test backup server, and will be using the current server as the main server for a few days. the purpose of this is to test the balancer server we've setup.

So, miners will need to restart their client this one time, in order to get connected to the balancer server, after that restarts should no longer be necessary.

I will let everyone know when we actually make the changes, and the restart of the miners is necessary. Stay tuned. Thanks!

Oh yeah. Finally. Thanks for Irontiga for doing the same thing with NXT. People, buy this asset, it's super profitable and it will support BURST.

Not just me, other great people i'm working with also. I just manage assets. Especially crowetic, big shout out to crowetic. He handles the pool, the hard part  Grin

Also, i think a miss phrasing there, i don't do it for nxt  Huh

Thanks bro, but you do a lot of work too! We are just together trying to help out burst as a whole! Since it's our favorite coin!

also, update on the pool!! here goes...

We have purchased a VM to use as our balancer/failover server as opposed to using a DNS failover, this way no miners have to change anything or restart to get the new IP when the failover happens, the balancer server will automatically use the main pool or backup pool depending on the situation, and the miners will never have to change their IP address! This is great!

Also, the pool has been solid on the current backup server, which is a rackserver with VMWare ESXi.

I will be purchasing the new main server and having it hosted in a datacenter as soon as possible, the latest will be mid/end of next week.

Then we will be fully redundant, and no one will have to worry about downtime anymore! The way we have it setup is the main pool controls most of everything, the backup pool will have payouts disabled, so the main pool is the only one that will handle payouts. I'm pretty sure this setup will work fine, based on limited testing we did with our other setup. I will also be contacting Uray to find out if he's got some other suggestions (seeing as it's his software.)

We donate part of all of our assets and pool fee to Uray, for his great work with everything involving burst.

Speaking of which, Uray, I will be sending you a donation early next week, would you like that in BURST or BTC? Smiley Be on the lookout for a PM from me here shortly, got a few questions for you. thanks!

I tried joining the http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io/ and I set the recipient, but there is no confirmations, there is only a "/" displayed at the end! If I understand correctly I am supposed to get 4 confirmations before I can join the pool?

come join us at http://burst.ga

on a side note... I just got the pool back to the original backup server, installed with VMWare ESXi for expandability and awesomeness. I may also try to route a completely different backup connection for internet to it as well, we'll see. But we are doing well now on this server.

Within a couple days I will be purchasing and setting up the new main server which will be hosted at a data center. Then re-implementing the failover (possibly in a different way, we shall see. Hopefully to avoid the miners ever having to change IP addresses.)

I will continue to keep everyone updated on the status and progress of the pool. Thank you all for your continued support.

Also know that we have quite a few ideas in the works that will be coming out within the next month, stay tuned!

Also, no idea what's up with burstforum, but if it stays down longer I may be hiring someone to build a new forum.

Let's hope it gets fixed... BLTPS project is "locked" too. I have a backup but without the subscriptions and PMs I got.

Right, yea, I am not sure how to get a hold of BitV, besides messaging him here.

Oh, side note... the original pool backup server is being reinstalled right now with VMWare ESXi, and I should have the pool running back on that here shortly. This is an actual rackserver which is better than the current little VM i'm using for the host.

Then, within a few more days I will be purchasing a new server and having it hosted in a data center, which will function as the main server for the pool, with the VMWare machine I am setting up now, as it's backup.

Hm burst.ga is down for several hours, anyone know whats happening ...

They been through a lot lately, my guess is that the backup server died and crowetic isnt awake to fix it Smiley

Your guess is correct, I should be getting the new main server very shortly, I had a lot to take care of financially lately, but I'm getting there.

I won't be pushing anyone to the pool until I get it all back solid, but it'll be back up here in a second.

edit: and we're up.

Burstforum seems down (at least to me)
Any info?

no update regarding the down time

I guess admin is offline and unfortuantely don't know about it :/

Dang, I need to get a hold of BitV... I'll see what I can do. I'm only a mod there and don't have any actual admin to the back end.

What pool u on?

The pool I was mining on is http://mine.burstcoin.info

Changed to failover url burst.ga

Working on buying a dedicated server in a data center right now with which to host the new main pool. The backup pool server will then be rebuilt, reinstalled, and fully secured for the backup server functionality.

As of right now we're up and running, and still need more people, but I'm not going to do any more giveaways until everything is back stable like it was for 3 days before this recent main server mishap.

burstcoin dev I'm very happy that you work on it and you are very active, but I think that the ammount of coin is too much. Is it possible to cut some ammount of coin?

Everyone needs to stop suggesting this.

Okay, we're up again... Working on fixing everything with a full solution today.

The only reason this happened at all, is because the main server/host had to leave without giving any notice. So I had no time at all to prepare for this. I was in the middle of fixing the backup server when it happened, and so we were forced to run on it when it wasn't fully fixed.

The boot sector on the backup server failed, but I'm now running on a different machine while I fix the server.

I'm sorry everyone, but just know that I am very heavily invested in this (guaranteed more than anyone else.) So I will get everything back up and stable, and this would have never happened had I had time to prepare before the main server had to be taken down. Sad

Crow, for what it is worth... I can say that all the miners on your pool are aware that this has been just a big amount of bad luck.
I'm pretty sure they understand that and recognize your efforts.
You, like other pool owners here, are doing your best. Some issue are acceptable in the early stage, what is important is to see that everyone keeps on working to fix them, and you certanly are Smiley
Just showing appreciation, that's all!

Thank you, I appreciate you saying this. I'm just so tired of all the issues, and then I finally get it all up and good, and randomly the main server has to be taken down without notice. So annoying.

I will continue to do my best, and make sure to keep the pool going. I have a lot invested in this and I want to make sure it stays up and profitable for our investors too.

Thanks again for your support, and everyone who continues to mine on our pool. I promise to keep going until things are perfect!

i feel that, i've been in that situation before, its frustrating, but soon it will be rewarding, good luck bro !

definitely. Thanks Uray!

@crowetic
Ouch, sounds bad. Hope that you get the problem solved and your server back up and running again.

Well, it's definitely not good. That's for sure...

But, on the plus side, I think I almost have it back up. Synching the blockchain on the temporary server I setup from an old backup. Should be almost finished.
