Don’t trash talk the ZX Spectrum. I have good memories of this machine. Probably a much better device than Kraken’s trading engine  Grin

That was the height of luxury, it had colour graphics!  Two of us had to share one of these in the times before we got a ZX Spectrum for Christmas one year.  Thousands of happy hours though  Grin

rebranded as the timex sinclair 1000 in the USA.

yeah and that 16k ram expansion pack.. breath at it and insta-crash.

i double sided taped my whole setup (with the sparky printer) to a block of wood to keep it more or less stable when bumping anything..

and i played the coolest flight sim ever (well kinda) on it among other stuff.

I don't know if it's just me but I'm constantly disconnecting from Kraken. Fortunately most of my orders are preprogrammed.

...when Kraken servers go prrrrrrrrrr...

pretty advanced for kraken

i was thinking more like a KIM-1

Don't feel too bad.  I must admit.

You can't feel shit. I also admit.

wait till the quantum AIs get here. JJG wont be worthy of tieing its bootstraps.

How are we feeling about BTC today brothers :-)

observing ~9.7k USD just after the halfing with the world in a tailspin?

this is fine.
2086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JPM Bank changes tone and opens for crypto exchanges on: May 14, 2020, 12:01:05 AM
it's still a far cry from JPM touching cryptocurrency transactions or custody or anything like that. tbh it seems like a nothingburger to me.

from that article:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/colinharper/2020/05/12/jp-morgan-opens-accounts-for-bitcoin-exchanges--coinbase-and-gemini-up-first/#e46b32140269

Quote
I would expect that there are other associated benefits to JPM from any associated banking services, additional collaboration with both of those firms, potential for winning any future IPO or another angle such as JPM coin being offered on either of those platforms."

(For context, JPM announced it was incubating its own stablecoin at the beginning of last year).

bold is mine but not the italics.

jpmcoin. stable.

lulz

Some of us, surely need to work on our brains, first.

You run a bitcoin strip club or something? How's it working out with all this social distancing?

If a gentleman's club has naked women, what does a girl club have?
even better looking naked women?

pleasepleaseplease

All the states got extra snoopy when we were locked in, started using zoom and generally mucking about more on home pc's and mobiles. Most of the geeks are at home not on site. Expect a big nation-state cyberattack in the next few months. If only to keep the theme of "wtf 2020?" going. Would be sad if the pos terminals in supermarkets failed for a few days. Or large swathes of the West lost power for a while.

Surely a large meteorite strike, Yellowstone eruption event, ozone layer hole and New Coke are all on the menu for the second half of 2020?

still time to squeeze all that into 1st half if we try hard enough.

hey with all the computer idiots newly working from home on their malware/virus infected computer/network with monitors facing windows and all your private medical/financial/whatever info on it while kids wander by and enter random info while the parent is distracted, what could go wrong?

.....
Anyone that can manage the time out of life to hang out here and post all day is already rich. Smiley

idk man....there was a flat earth nutter and a couple of lunatics that hang out on this
forum 24/7 a couple of blocks over and generate a plethora of drivel threads.
I rather doubt they are rich..... (though rich in ignorance maybe...)

the group home they live in has good internet and some spare PCs, thats all

Happy, happy halvening everyone! Congrats to the HODLers. Our time is near.

People will one day ask you "Where were you when the third halving happened?"

sleeping

not the best answer

We will see. Chump or Champ. Moon or Doom. Boom or Bust

well i always said i would ride this pig either to the moon or till it hit the the ground so hard and made a crater so big a new sea will be named after it.

BTC/Crypto: Always Drama! Sad

halfing. covid-19. bitmain internal civil war. multiple economies in the toilet. burrr machines running at such high speeds it was never before though possible.

this is next level drama. need more than just popcorn this time around. perhaps we need popcorn to be stockpiled in our strategic reserve. should be plenty of room as currently its pretty empty.

EDIT: in previous btc halfings was there ever such a potential drop of hash rate vs price when hash power could actually go somewhere else (bch/bsv)?

1st halfing was gpu/fpga/asic transition, 2nd halfing was asic to a better asic (process shrinks were still happening regularly). this time around process has matured to the point near state of the art and bitmain is holding all the aces and wont let anyone play with them.

is that more or less the situation (pardon my memory of history)? cuz if so this does set up some pain.

apologies for ignorant questions and/or errors in my thinking; i stopped btc mining around the BFL dumpster fire time.

From Andreas Antonopolous's chiming in - https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.flsd.521536/gov.uscourts.flsd.521536.500.5.pdf

Coins have been spent from 'Tulip Trust' addresses. That bonded courier sure is a slippery customer.

By this point I'd be delighted to see any evidence from a Craigy fan about any aspect of any claim he makes. There is none anywhere. Am genuinely starting to root for you guys. There's got to be something out there. Any crumb will do.

yeah we need may need to send someone to help the other side or this will get very boring fast.

arguing with half wits takes work when all their (mostly defective) ammo is gone and we still wanna play.

At this point, I encourage tourists not to visit Greece this year.
Stay home and wash your hands.

We cannot afford your stupidity.

Protip:  You would not want to be.

Speaking from experience?
