2161  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top 3 Bitcoin Casinos for 2018 on: March 20, 2018, 07:04:32 PM
That's got to be one of the worst lists I've seen... What kind of criteria did you use for this?
The fact that FortuneJack is on there says enough. Haven't even heard of the other websites and looking at them they're not what I think about when you mention 'Best Bitcoin Casinos'.

You can't discuss taste of course, but I'll just say that I fully disagree with those choices.
2162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of Cloud mining? on: March 20, 2018, 06:48:41 PM
I've just had one experience with cloud mining and that was years ago. I had purchased a contract at Genesis Miniong and I did make a nice profit with that.
Though I wouldn't recommend anyone getting into it because the ROI is very low for the risk you take.

Most of those cloud mining websites are just straight up ponzi schemes. The legit ones take so much fees that there's barely any profit left.
2163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter and Google joining war against crypto on: March 20, 2018, 06:34:31 PM
Google and Facebook banning crypto related ads is pretty bad, but I couldn't care less for Twitter.
I really hope some of their competition will pick up the bulk of crypto advertising, I've been using other advertising networks with success lately.

Lastly, this might be a pretty good opportunity for Bitcoin related ad networks to grow a bit.
They could definitely use a bit more decent publishers, most of their publishers are either faucets or 'get paid' websites. Not really good for advertising paid services...
2164  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Crypto-Games.net ★ 10 coins ★ Since 2014 ★ 7 games ★ 103 ETH Jackpot ★ on: March 20, 2018, 01:08:27 PM
So funny what just happen to me in the chat box. There was a new guy saying Hi. Just Hi. And i thought, it is against the chat rules that posting short messages in  the chat box. For me trying to be helpful and remind him of the chat rules. I was muted in the chat box for a reason of reminding someone.. LoL I ask myself why? i was just trying to be helpful? did i broke any rules? Nobody warned me that i broke any rules,  why? Its not really a big deal if i got muted because i broke a rules. My point is, i was trying to be helpful and in return i was muted.

I gave you a 1 minute mute to erase your message from chat because you warned someone for saying "Hi".
Mods never warn people for saying "Hi" or "Hello" and that's why you should leave those things up to them. There's certain circumstances where short messages are acceptable.

There's no problem here and you don't have to apologize.
If I wouldn't have been in the middle of a conversation, I would have explained to you that help with the chat rules from players only confuses things.
I'm sorry that you didn't understand that the 1 minute was a warning and meant to signify my opposition to your warning.

This was also cleared up in chat when you came back..
Hi there, Yes everything was settled on the same chat and as what i have said on my previous comment, There was no big issue regarding this matter. The problem might be on my side so that is why i am apologizing. People are just asking and to clear everything i am answering them.

So for the next reader, As i am giving respect to the thread owner, everything was settled already.

If it makes you feel any better, I've had the same warning a couple of times too. Doesn't matter too much as long as you apologize and don't do it again.
Besides, chat would become too confusing and hostile if regular players started pointing out the rules all of the time.
2165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what are the common challenges for bitcoin user? on: March 20, 2018, 01:01:33 PM
The thing I worry most about is that governments would impose stricter regulations on crypto in general.
This could range from higher taxes on profits made or even the outright banning of certain forms of cryptocurrency.

I doubt that it would take too long before the EU comes with more regulations, I really hope they'll make them as permissive as possible.
2166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for bitcoin as G20 says no crackdown for cryptocurrencies on: March 19, 2018, 06:22:56 PM
Finally, it's about time that we saw another bit of good news instead of all the negativity.
Now I wouldn't be completely against regulation, as long as it's fair. I'd even say it could have a positive effect on Bitcoin, making it more legitimate.

Just look at how much Bitcoin is being used in Japan after they introduced new legislation for crypto.
2167  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mtgox trustee monitor on: March 16, 2018, 09:31:51 PM
Great idea actually, I'm considering giving a donation for e-mail alerts actually. Is there a minimum donation for that? (Not going to give the minimum, just want to know)
It would even be better if you had an android app, I tend to check my phone more than my e-mail.
2168  Economy / Economics / Re: Is fall of bitcoin from 16k$ good for bitcoin and alt-crypto? on: March 16, 2018, 01:32:27 PM
I definitely think a correction was needed and that it will eventually prove to be a good thing.
The bull run to 20k was unsustainable and it was pretty clear that it wasn't going to hold once the price got over 20k.

The price did drop some more due to the sale of Mt. Gox coins, but I would say that the market handled it pretty well.
We're still seeing prices close to 10k and I would expect that it will continue its growth pattern over the long term.
2169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Playboy to Launch Its Own Cryptocurrency , Accept Others for Adult Content on: March 16, 2018, 12:20:53 PM
I would have thought that they were behind Bunnytoken, seems like a far better some for a token issued by Playboy.
It really seems to be the latest craze for companies to issue their own tokens, I guess it could be a good thing that more legitimate companies are starting ICO's.

In their FAQ they also mention that they will be doing a 10% airdrop for STEEM holders.

Quote
What is the Steem Holder’s airdrop?

When VIT launches, 400 million (10%) of the genesis tokens will be airdropped to a snapshot of Steem holders of block number 18,500,000 on the Steem Blockchain. The date of the snapshot is December 29, 2017.
2170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Artificial Intelligence on: March 16, 2018, 12:09:08 PM
I think I've found the correct source for this news: https://thenextweb.com/artificial-intelligence/2018/03/13/bad-news-for-most-cryptocurrency-companies-ai-can-tell-if-your-ico-is-a-scam/

This article is pretty in-depth and it does seem that the research done is legitimate.

From the article:

Quote
By analyzing 2,251 ICO projects, we correlate the life span and the price change of a digital currency with various levels of its ICO information, including its white papers, founding team, GitHub repository, website, etc. For the best setting, the proposed system is able to identify scam ICO projects with a precision of 0.83 and an F1 score of 0.80.

And this is encouraging, even if it isn’t revolutionary. This particular paper showcases an algorithm-based system that essentially automates what savvy investors are already doing by seeking out publicly available information that draws an overall picture of a coin. This is good for a couple of reasons, as the team points out:

Compared against human-designed rating systems, ICORATING has two key advantages. (1) Objectivity: a machine learning model involves less prior knowledge about the world, instead learning the causality from the data, in contrast to human designed systems that require massive involvement of human experts, who inevitably introduce biases. (2) Difficulty of manipulation by unscrupulous actors: the credit rating result is output from a machine learning model through black-box training. This process requires minor human involvement and intervention

It's definitely interesting that they've already have an 80% success rate and I agree with them that a system like this has many advantages over human-designed systems.
2171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fastest Transaction Times on: March 16, 2018, 11:21:58 AM
Steem has extremely fast transaction times, usually it only takes around 2 seconds for a transaction to be confirmed.
The best part is that there are absolutely no transaction fees either, sound a bit too good to be true, doesn't it?

The one problem with Steem is that they do not have an official desktop wallet. You do have some unofficial options though, like Vessel
2172  Economy / Gambling / Re: I'm looking for new, transparent and honest casino/game affiliate programs on: March 16, 2018, 10:57:52 AM
You can try and use Fortunejackpartners.com to promote Fortunejack casino. Basically the same one as my signature.

They have a good interface and you can see how many referrals you generated and how much they deposited and how much they bet. Also has custom links to track how each website of yours is performing to another.

If you want more info you can find the offices Fortunejack thread here on Bitcointalk or try the Fortunejack Discord channel.

I don't trust them at all.

You should review my neutral feedback against them.

They say they give 70% for the first month, but nuked us like a week in or so... plus we had earnings go MIA.

I always had a negative view on FJ myself. Heard lots of stady stuff about them in the past. Thought I'd not comment at first but if you had issues with them too it says something...

Same here, they operate like a non-bitcoin casino. Maybe they've changed in the meantime, but afaik they hold your withdraws a couple of days before they send it.
I tend to only play on casinos that offer instant withdraws, because there's no reason why a casino shouldn't do that if they accept Bitcoin.

I kinda like the referral system at Crypto-Games, they offer pretty good stats on your referrals and you also level up your faucet when you earn from your referrals.
2173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what will happen to those bitcoin, if someone die who own bitcoin or invest on? on: March 16, 2018, 10:39:04 AM
That's the full responsibility of the deceased person (while he was still alive of course). If that person didn't share his private keys with anyone, those Bitcoins are just lost.
It's always a good idea to give your closed loved ones a way to access your crypto assets if something were to happen.

I'm not completely sure about this, but it could also be possible to arrange something through a notary, but I have no idea how safe this is.
2174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questionable wealth because of Crypto on: March 16, 2018, 09:51:08 AM
If you just pay your taxes, you should have nothing to fear. Most people think the IRS is something that's out there bto get them and put them in jail, this is not true.
The only thing the IRS cares about is getting its money. Even if you can't pay straight away they'll help you set up a payment plan etc.

Why would the government put you in jail, just for becoming rich? It's more taxes for them... Stop reading conspiracy theories, I would say :p
2175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: News says Bitcoin is Stronger than Ever, What do you thing? on: March 16, 2018, 09:40:16 AM
I'm not sure if I agree with the author's statement that the descrease in transactions is due to more batching.
If you look at the Google trends statistics you'll also see that there's a decreased interest in Bitcoin. This is probably only temporary though.

What does surprise me is that so many people are running full nodes, since you're not getting anything back for it. Especially the high number of Chinese people really surprises me.
2176  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Anyone applied for Estonian cryptocurrency exchange/wallet licenses? on: March 15, 2018, 11:16:37 AM
Is it really worth it? I mean, they do have pretty high capital gains taxes, I don't know what rates they offer for businesses/exchanges, but I would assume it's not cheap.
This is an article from 2017, from someone who looked into getting Estonian e-residency specifically for crypto-trading, but had some issues with it.

2177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: Culture on: March 15, 2018, 10:51:19 AM
First I thought that I couldn't think of one example where it would be a part in our culture, but I was wrong.
A lot of people here do go out to play card games in the weekend, it's usually for small amounts of money. Not even poker, games like bridge of something called whist.

The amount of money we're talking about usually isn't more than a couple of euros, still gambling though.
2178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VOTE! Do you participate in ICO that requires KYC (your personal data)? on: March 15, 2018, 10:16:59 AM
Definitely not, I'm pretty fond of having privacy and I must admit that I have not really been into the whole ICO craze.
Keep in mind that your data could get into the wrong hands by uploading your personal documents. You can't know for sure that they will handle it with proper care.

You wouldn't be the first one who gets his identity stolen that way.
2179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To quit gambling is to quit yourself on: March 15, 2018, 09:17:50 AM
It's not as easy as you make it sound and I think your advice could even be harmful in some ways.
You make it sound way too easy, a real addict cannot quit by himself, he needs professional help. (In most cases)

Some addict is going to read this post and might think 'Oh finally, I can quit by myself just by having strong willpower and determination while also thinking positive'. Then he will fail and feel even worse than he did before.

The only advice I would give to an addicted gambler is: Go get professional help! Don't place that last bet and use the little money you still have to get therapy.
You're probably already in debt, so adding a little more debt to help you solve your addiction problem won't matter too much. And it'll save you money in the long run.
2180  Economy / Economics / Re: Shitcoins are necessary for the economy on: March 15, 2018, 09:03:24 AM
I don't think I agree with that statement, just because that's not the only option.
I'd much rather have 50 solid coins than 1000 shitcoins. These scammy ICO's are nothing but bad publicity for the crypto-sphere in general.

I don't think it would be such a bad thing if we'd see a bit more regulations in that regard. Some are just outright scams or ponzi schemes.
