1161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you regret getting involved in crypto? on: November 29, 2018, 10:28:01 AM
I definitely don't regret getting into crypto, not even during this bear market, I'm simply used to it.
If you can handle situations like these, you have no reason to be into crypto at all IMO.

The markets would have to crash to almost zero, for me to even consider leaving this business.
1162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What causes a person to become intensely addicted to gambling? on: November 28, 2018, 01:57:13 PM
What you are stating is different kind of gambling, that is gambling in life, gambling in every decision. If we're talking about the gambling in casino. The only reason is because of money. Gambling can turn your small money into big and could make you rich overnight but it's kinda hard. So they keep on trying and sometimes forgot those important things they should do.
If we really want to be focusing on reality and the main reason why people actually tend to gamble, it is always for the money.
I have never seen anyone that approached gambling for the first time all in the name of wanting to catch fun, it is just normal human mindset and the drive comes based on the possibilities you see when it comes to making money and that is where the whole thing get to start from.

Some in the long run, tend to understand the risk and the need to always limit and control themselves, while some do not, and for that reason they become hugely expose to gambling risks and then getting out of it becomes a problem as they keep pursuing what they can't find.

I actually do think that some people just gamble for fun, without even expecting to make money out of it.
I mean people go on holiday to Vegas and spend like $100 at the casinos there, fully expecting to spend that $100 entirely.

Then you have skill-based games where it's really more about the game itself, then to make money out of it.

I used to go to a weekly IRL poker game, which was just about playing games with friends and drinking beer every Friday night.
Sure, it's fun when you actually win, but i wouldn't say that it was any less fun when you didn't win.
1163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ohio accepts Bitcoin! on: November 28, 2018, 01:09:50 PM
Yeah that's true Ohio accepting bitcoin as payment of tax and Bitcoin getting famous day by day which is really good for market.
Current situation of crypto market is not good but never sell assets of crypto at very cheap price but if you can afford then we should invest on good potential projects.
I also heard that in Canada jewelry shop accepting Bitcoin as payment. 2019 is gonna be good for crypto market.  Cool
https://www.coindesk.com/canadian-jewelry-retailer-birks-now-accepts-bitcoin-payments

Look, it's great that you now have so many instances where you can pay with Bitcoin, but does it really have an effect on the popularity of Bitcoin as a method of payment?

I'd be way more interested in seeing how many people actually do pay using Bitcoin.
I would imagine that those numbers really aren't that great at the moment.

There are a few stores that accept Bitcoin in the area where I live and they all say the same thing.
The amount of customers paying with Bitcoin isn't anything to write home about.

As long as people aren't using it as a payment method, it doesn't really matter that more stores are accepting it.
Okay, you get some additional visibility because of it, but does that really push people to start using it?

^^

Lol yeah indeed, well, I'll leave my post up, since it might prevent some other support requests in the long run.
Haven't had any coffee yet, so my brain isn't functioning too well at the moment  Wink

Well, I hope it works, but I'd expect even lower returns if more people invest (although that makes people not be willing to invest, so it's self-regulating). I like Bustabit's system of a small dilution fee, so at least there's a small reward to old investors, while at the same time punishing bankroll divestments.

Crypto-Games also has a small divestment fee for investments shorter than 21 days.
Not sure if that's the same as a dilution fee, since I've never used that particular site you've mentioned, but seems like the same concept.

1172  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would you use this app? on: November 23, 2018, 07:39:15 PM
I answered with: Depends on which coins are supported.

It's true that there are already similar apps, but I haven't actually found one that I like using.
The UI is a big factor for me whether I'd use it or not.

It should be lightweight and have a very clean interface. I know that's not too much detail, but I don't know yet how this perfect app would have to look for me to use it.
1173  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A new media on provably fair gaming on: November 23, 2018, 05:26:18 PM
The website is definitely very well made. I just checked out some of the reviews and they were very detailed and looked pretty honest.
Good that you just don't give out the highest score to whatever website gives you the most affiliate earnings.

Now you should obviously add more content, but it's a great start!
1174  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Black Friday deals on: November 23, 2018, 03:54:04 PM
Okay good news! Ledger is doing a 50% off on nano S but only the on the matte black one, see here: https://www.ledger.com/products/ledger-nano-s

There's nothing on trezor tho  Undecided Oh well, the bundle deal they did last year wasn't that appealing to me in the first place.

Yeah I jumped on that deal and got me a new Ledger Nano S, paid with Bitcoin of course.
I think it's actually the first Black Friday purchase I've ever made.

Already had one in the past, but I managed to break it :-/

Gotta say that I'm pleasantly surprised with their service, already have confirmation that it's been shippen.
About an hour after I've ordered it/
1175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This person made $500,000 with gambling and lost it all within 60 seconds! on: November 23, 2018, 02:40:41 PM
Blatantly blaming gambling for every bad thing, is not correct!

If gambling wasn't exist it wouldn't happen, right?

People who are addicted to smoking - are they the ones to blame for being in that state, or is it the tobacco companies that suffer all the criticism?

Gambling is no different.

If these things wouldn't be on the table then no one would have been affected.

And what would you propose then? Outlaw gambling?
Do you think that there won't be any gambling addicts any more if gambling suddenly became illegal?

I'm sorry, but I want the freedom to do with my money what I want. Same with my body, if I choose to smoke or drink, that's my choice and the government does not have any say in that.
1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not pay attention of FUDDERS at this time on: November 23, 2018, 01:34:28 PM
So is there any time we should pay attention to FUD?

Look, if you're part of the cryptocurrency community, you're probably in it for the long haul.
Any sort of temporary negative news shouldn't cause you to act upon hearing it.

You're in the wrong business when you let FUD affect you.

1177  Economy / Economics / Re: IMF chief is in support of crypto. Keep holding on: November 23, 2018, 01:22:11 PM
Christine Lagarde the same old reptiloid french lady who proposed last year to use the blockchain technology to fight the money laundering fraud & other illegal activities used with cryptos in Europe Cheesy She was not in favor so far... There is a quote in the article looking scripted like if a 2008 crisis is coming btw...

I hope you mean that reptiloid thing ironically or have you been reading too much David Icke? Tongue

I mean I really wouldn't trust anything she says, I'm fully aware that the IMF is just about everything that's wrong with the global financial system.
Cryptocurrency is trying to reach the opposite of what these people want.

That said, it does give cryptocurrency some perceived legitimacy, at least for some people.
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you see a future with one cryptocurrency or thousands? on: November 23, 2018, 12:32:48 PM
I think there's probably going to be thousands, I don't see this craze stopping any time soon.
If you think about it, it could be the case that cryptocurrency-based businesses will start replacing a lot of existing businesses. All opting to develop their own blockchain + cryptocurrency
1179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Black Friday Bitcoin special - Get it now! on: November 23, 2018, 11:02:02 AM
I don't know, those cheap Ledger Nano's sound like a pretty good deal as well. They're 50% off
So good, I've just ordered one Tongue

Holding off on buying more Bitcoin at the moment, I'll probably buy in when I see us moving towards an uptrend again.
1180  Economy / Economics / Re: would you give your fingerprint or eye scan for a fair money supply? on: November 23, 2018, 10:05:56 AM
Probably not actually, that's way too much personal data to give away.
I'm someone who's even very hesitant to give regular KYC to exchanges, so I'd probably never give away a fingerprint or eye scan.

Besides, what kind of 'fair money supply' are we talking about here?
Hundreds of dollars per month? Thousands? Less?
