And as for this lady - she may be wealthy, but she is wealthy because she has emptied the pockets of many sad souls, this is not a good way to be rich .... not at all ..... if she was like Mark Zuckerberg - good for her, but getting rich like this - is quite despicable.

And getting rich like Mark Zuckerberg isn't morally questionable? He's getting rich by selling people's personal information to advertisers, totally disregarding their privacy, even sharing their freaking phone numbers gathered through their 2FA.

Facebook is also made to be very addictive. Social media can also ruin people's lives. Okay, maybe not to the same extent as gambling websites, but it's still morally questionable.

If gambling would be made illegal, there would still be casinos around. Only, they would not follow any regulations and people wouldn't be as protected as they are today (from bad practices).

That woman has every right to pay herself that kind of salary, she started a legitimate business and is making a profit from that.

Do you think every store owner is immoral, because they sell alcohol to possible addicts?

Nobody is saint in this world, and everybody got some skeletons, nobody's perfect.
So a store owner might sell alcohol to someone who should stay away from it - is it good? No, but how many incidents like this could occur? Definitely not a scale of $1,000,000 NET PROFIT per day, right?

I have no problem with her taking a salary, I have a problem with the HOW she makes it. For instance: tactics of delaying withdrawals, asking customers for more and more documents, freezing user accounts for "investigation" that takes over 1 year, and worse of all - getting main profit from addicts who cannot stop throwing away their money.

The way she's getting her salary is via unscrupulous means. Are these legitimate? They are legit but unscrupulous.

And forget about Facebook, would you say an average Joe, a teacher, is getting a salary for doing something less legitimate than this?
What about a construction builder?
An engineer?

Are these jobs just as good as hers? You don't see any difference?

Why does the scale of her daily wage matter?

I'm sorry, but there are enough people who are perfectly capable of gambling without getting addicted. She's just providing a service that has wide demand.
Anyone who is selling addictive products or services is just as "guilty" as her.

People are responsible for their own well-being. If you get addicted to gambling, it's your own responsibility to fix that.

Got any proof of these tactics that you mention? Are they delaying withdraws, asking for documents, freezing accounts etc because they want to make it as difficult as possible for customers to get money out - or are they required to do so by law?

Again, I don't see anything wrong with running a successful gambling website and getting huge profits from that.
1182  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: John McAfee and his promises. on: November 22, 2018, 01:03:52 PM
Don't forget that he'd been paid a shitton of money for these announcements he made on his Twitter account.
Around 100k for every tweet promoting an ICO

https://www.theverge.com/2018/4/2/17189880/john-mcafee-bitcoin-cryptocurrency-twitter-ico

That should already make it clear that you can't believe anything he says Tongue
1183  Economy / Economics / Re: POLL: Would you rather see Bitcoin price grow steadily or in spikes? on: November 22, 2018, 12:43:29 PM
I'd definitely prefer steady growth personally, but I do think it's more likely that we'll keep seeing these sudden spikes.
The market just seems to remain very volatile in general, so it's unavoidable for the near future.

That said, volatility is slowly decreasing, but it's still nowhere near the volatility of most fiat currencies.

But what about the moments when the market is bearish? Prices can fluctuate very much, which can contribute to the outflow of customers due to the inability to rise in levels and buy any things.

I don't think that would have too huge of an effect on the game.
The main objective of this game would be to make it fun to play, regardless of the fact that you can earn cryptocurrency with it.

I could really see this work, I used to play a text-based RPG called CastleQuest, which also got reset after something like 2 months.
Now that was something I really enjoyed playing for multiple years, starting over again every season.

I assume this wouldn't be text-based though or what did you have in mind in terms of graphics?

I wish doing text based was still a thing. I created a MUD back in the day (it's actually still running).

Graphics could go from simple web app to MMORPG.

I hear ya, it's still kind of a thing. I think Ogame is still being played, but it's definitely not as popular as it used to be.
If you get started on this game, feel free to hit me up to beta test it, more than willing to spend a couple of weeks just play-testing. (voluntarily of course)

Not a big fan of including a crypto miner in the game, since the earnings would be pretty much negligible.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO devs should fear bounty hunters!! on: November 21, 2018, 09:38:14 PM
I've seen so many threads like this pop up the last couple of weeks and it kinda baffles me that people still fall into these traps.

Just don't work for projects that are not willing to pay you upfront. Is it that hard?
Aside from that, do you even have any legal grounds where you could demand payment from them?

I'm sure that these projects have themselves covered, so there's absolutely nothing you can do.

Don't work for projects that are not willing to compensate you upfront.

totally it's all very true and I agree with you dude
but if we talk about hunters working at the ico project it might be very difficult to find projects that are willing to pay in upfront

No it's not, they're not going publish whether they'd pay someone upfront or not. You actually have to contact them yourself with an offer.
If you have marketable skills, they will spend the money. If they don't, move on and count yourself lucky that you didn't get scammed.

Why do they pay these bounties? To get more exposure for their project...
If you can verifiably give them that exposure, they would just jump on any offer you make them.

The golden days for bounty hunters are over, you really need a different strategy than what worked before.

Pffft, just the same advice that's been repeated over a hundred times before.
Really, this isn't even remotely useful to someone, you've just spent 1 or 2 minutes compiling that list.

Welcome to my ignore list, if you're going to make these kinds of posts, I really don't want to see any of them again.

1189  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Black Friday deals on: November 21, 2018, 05:06:42 PM
I've found a few more:

Bees Brothers - 20% off when buying with Bitcoin + Altcoins
Zen Magnets - 20% off their Zen Triumph magnet set
Hosterbox - 50% off all web hosting plans

There's a bunch more deals here: https://bitcoinblackfriday.com/browse

Not everything is that interesting and some services don't exactly look trustworthy.
Have purchased from Beesbrothers before though and was very pleased with their honey and service.
1190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friendly advice/warning about gambling in this market on: November 21, 2018, 04:44:16 PM

Yeah, I understand that you put in 20 dollar bet to some football match and you won and you get 19 in return even when you win. Which sounds horrible and weird and we all know the reason because it bitcoin is falling and what not but isn't that still much better ?

@adaseb actually makes a fair point that gambling websites could also implement a stablecoin for situations like these.
I'd opt for something different than USDT and make sure that you'd also be able to place bets with cryptocurrency as well.

Or having everything denominated in fiat and just use Bitcoin at the back-end would also be an option.

Yeah sure, if you want to believe it's because of black Friday, go ahead.

Sounds just like when people said that Bitcoin crashed because of Chinese New Year.
It's all just speculation and I really don't see the point in trying to tie these drops to events like these.

You could perhaps argue that the price dropped because of the BCH split drama, but I'm not sure about that either.
It might have been somewhat of a catalyst, but the main reason why Bitcoin dropped is because the support just wasn't strong enough to keep it above 5k.
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Exchange IN CASINO on: November 21, 2018, 11:29:16 AM
~
They ask how the exchange will help the hotel.

How is it best for me to talk to them?
~

A hotel with a Bitcoin ATM is surely more attractive to visitors than a hotel without one. Normally people are reluctant to do something for the first time ever, so you should tell them that they won't be the first. There are now over 3,000 Bitcoin ATMs worldwide, and some of them are located in hotels. For example, the 4-star Flemings Conferance Hotel in Vienna, Austria, installed a Bitcoin ATM on October 2 this year. There is a BTC ATM at Hlemmur Square Hotel in Reykjavik, Iceland, and there is another one in Metropolitan Hotel in Sydney, Australia, and so on. Also, maybe it's worth mentioning that there are over 70 Bitcoin ATMs in Las Vegas at the moment.

I don't know if it makes that much of a difference in customer satisfaction really. I mean, you have to consider the cost of such an atm and the possible profit that's going to be made with it.
I really don't think they're used quite enough to consider investing into an ATM, but I could be wrong here.

Do you know what kind of volume these existing Bitcoin ATMs have?
1194  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The Enteleca Marketplace on: November 21, 2018, 11:04:40 AM
I'm a little bit confused how you're going to be using 'blockchain technology'?

From what I gather by reading this post, you plan on starting out by just accepting cryptocurrency on a centralized marketplace.
Is that correct?

Or are you actually looking on building a fully decentralized platform where sales are done on a blockchain?
1195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Highest Trading Volume in the World for Bitcoin on: November 21, 2018, 10:53:08 AM
the volume that exchanges report is not the same as trading volume of a country! mainly because most exchanges are accepting traders from foreign countries. for example if I that don't live in US, use a US exchange such as Coinbase, the volume that I add to the total shouldn't be counted as US volume!
not to mention that most of these stats are not accurate because most of them inflate their numbers for competition. not to mention that methods that people use are not the same. for example Chinese are currently OTC trading or trading on Japanese and other foreign exchanges which is why you think it is lower.

He's only talking about LocalBitcoins volume though. Wouldn't the statistics be fairly accurate, since people do generally have their country listed in their profile?
It might be possible that LBC inflates their numbers, but since it's more of an OTC exchange, I fail to see how they can do that exactly.

Title is a bit clickbaity though, it should mention that we're talking about LBC volume, which isn't particularly indicative of general worldwide Bitcoin trading volume.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is blockchain now just a word to joke upon? on: November 20, 2018, 03:48:43 PM
The term has really become somewhat of a joke, I've noticed it a long time ago, especially in tech-related discussions.
Happens every time when something is so over-hyped for no reason.

I mean you've seen some stocks rise immensely, just because they added 'blockchain' to their name.

Here's an example:
http://uk.businessinsider.com/long-blockchain-company-iced-tea-sec-stock-2018-8?r=UK&IR=T (When this ice tea company stuck the word 'blockchain' in its name, its stock skyrocketed by nearly 500%. Now, it's being investigated by the government.)
1197  Other / Meta / Re: Are sMerits replentished periodically? on: November 19, 2018, 04:12:12 PM
May be you are just lucky and early joiner. How can new person pick good posts? There is no merit in their account. So they can't share their opinion.

You are thinking only newbie and junior relation. Yes it is only 1 merit. May be it is easy to be Member also need only 10. Do you really thing easy that become a full member? It is not easy and it is not possible. I know someone, they have a lot of merit in their account. They don't want to share it. And local boards is so cruel about merit. My native is not English and my knowledge is also limited. So I am trying my best but it is not easy, acceppt that.

Yeah I think it's fairly easy to become a full member with the new merit system. If I just started out, I would be very close to being a full member by now, with 98 merit received.
I can honestly say that I haven't changed anything to my posting behavior after merit was implemented.

Is it that hard to just put in some effort? That's literally all that's required to get merit.

Heck, I usually give preferential treatment to anyone who isn't a legendary member, by giving them more merit than I would give to a legendary member.
I assume there are more people here who think this way.

You sound a little bit entitled to be honest, as if you just want the rewards to fall out of the sky without putting in any effort.
You've made 36 posts in total and got 5 merit. What are you complaining about even?

1198  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Crypto-Games.net ★4 Years Old ★HUGE wagering contest ★10 million roulette bets on: November 19, 2018, 03:23:50 PM
Bitcoin and Ethereum investments are again publicly open.  Tongue

Why? The bankroll is already enormous in comparison to how much is wagered.

With larger bankroll we can accept higher bets. Value of max bet decreased a lot in past months.

But are players really targetting the max bet or most of the wagered bets target lower amounts?

I've noticed too that they occasionally pop up, but not that often.
When they do, you can usually see either a lot of profit or somewhat bigger losses for investors.

I think it was mentioned a couple of weeks ago on this forum that there was a whale basically wagering a few $100k in Bitcoin.

I have been making some major database changes to prepare for trust tracking.

I try to keep downtime to a minimum, and update during the wee hours of the morning.

Oh yeah I see, it's working again but getting database errors now. Makes sense.
