221  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seeking Community Insights: Building a Community Around a Blockchain Project on: March 19, 2024, 08:40:00 PM
1. How do you successfully build a community around a blockchain project without revealing too much prematurely before building a strong enough community?
You cannot build a strong community around your project when people do not know what the project is about, you have to first of all build the project for people to see if there is an actual utility in it, and if there is people would want to use it and you can grow the community you want.
4. How can I establish trust within the community while maintaining security?
Quite a lot of people invest in new projects basically out of the hype and because they want to make money quickly, it is somewhat like gambling, they don't trust the project or believe in anything about it, they just buy many new projects and see which one yields them profit. Having said that, if you offer something unique, people might buy your idea, but whatever you want to launch should be able to service certain needs and it should be a new idea, not what many developers have tried and failed in. Prolly you might get people who would be interested.
222  Economy / Reputation / Re: Anonymity of Bitcointalk forum members on: March 19, 2024, 04:57:12 PM
Hmmm! Meaning everyone's activities here is under watch right? That's interesting and would even make the system more transparent and reliable since every users activities can be seen by all.

But do we have some police and probably FBI here? Lol and the judiciary as well to bring perpetrators of illegal and untrusted activities to book?
It does not mean your activity here is under watch per se, but anything you do on the internet is somewhat public and if you give away too many details, it can be used by the relevant authorities to identify you. Mind you that the forum does not moderate scam and the system is not built to protect you, you have to protect yourself, so learn how to do that.

Having said that, as for if the FBI is here, who knows, anybody can register an account here and they do not have to make their identity public when doing so. Even if the FBI or police is here, they are not here to protect you, they can lurk around if they are trying to uncover a big scam or something related to a Bitcoin mixer.
223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do not let the over excitement after the bull-run pull you out to danger on: March 18, 2024, 09:44:47 PM
are you going to go out there and let those who were in doubt about the profitable potentials of Bitcoin to let them know about your investment in the Bitcoin and how so well you are doing in the industry?
Nope, Bitcoin hodlings should never be public, no matter how eager or tempted you are to brag about it. There have been numerous cases of $5 wrench attacks, and i am pretty sure some of the victims went about making noise that they have made money from Bitcoin and this can cause one to be vulnerable to such attacks.

I don't see why anyone should have a problem keeping their mouth shut about their Bitcoin hodlings, if you have a million dollars in your bank account, are you going to make it public.
224  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is over priced but people keep spending on: March 18, 2024, 09:22:13 PM
I completely understand everything, things are going from bad to worse in my own country, cost of living is skyrocketing whilst salaries and wages stay the same, a great percentage of people are basically living from paycheck to paycheck, with no sort of savings at all. Inflation is a real global problem right now, and it is worse in third world countries. The poor is getting poorer, and if the gap between the haves and the have nots continues to widen, then there is serious problem/crisis looming.

Having said that, to survive this harsh reality, people must seek extra sources of income, depending on one alone is no longer possible as things stand. Learning profitable skills is also advisable.
225  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin price update modification on homepage on: March 18, 2024, 07:49:50 PM
Should it be that, Bitcointalk puts out this price update on the web, it would be suggested by Google in searches by just anyone which could lead to the registration of new account from persons who takes interest after using the forum link as would be provided in the search.
Even if there is a Bitcoin price tracker in the forum, that would not make bitcointalk pop up when people search for "Bitcoin price", even if it happens and there are a lot of discussions on it, it would be impossible to beat the many crypto data aggregators and exchanges that show up when people search for the price of Bitcoin. Having said that, i don't think this can cause any influx of new users into the forum, but if you think so, then no problem.
I mean this in the sense that, possibly you just wanted to drop by on the forum, maybe just to see the price of Bitcoin (in the event that the forum was providing this update) and then, after you’ve achieved your initial purpose of viewing the price update, you just might get moved to proceed to other parts of the forum to see what’s new over there.
Lol, like many users have said in this thread, it is not just worth it and there are no benefits for the forum; and overall the admin agrees with that since he has not implemented that and i don't think there is any plans to do so.
226  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin price update modification on homepage on: March 18, 2024, 03:08:23 PM
Possibility of influx of new users
How is this feature going to cause an influx of new users, people don't join bitcointalk because they want to see what Bitcoin's price is, there are many places they can get that it from, people join here because they want to discuss about Bitcoin and other whatnots.
There would be some accurate and more trust in what price the forum is displayed to be authentic.
Bitcointalk is going to get the price info either from an exchange or from a website like Coinmarketcap that displays crypto prices, so there is no case of authenticity, when you can go directly to those websites and view the price.
Increased participation as users no longer need to go to other sites for something as little as price update which would in turn, push towards looking up what is new on the forum.
Increased participation in what? Forum activities? It only takes a few seconds to visit websites for BTC price, it definitely does not hamper forum participation.
227  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why beginners must consider burner wallet on: March 18, 2024, 01:14:31 PM
There are too many wallet on the app store, crypto users can still download other wallets and use for their airdrop and testnet. Some people make the mistake of using their wallet that hold a good amount of their asset to receive airdrop tokens too and that is why they can lose their assets. Trust wallet can be used for airdrops and some other nonserious wallets.
Whilst there are many wallets in playstore and app store, the important question is are they safe wallets, are they open source and have they been reviewed by a lot of members in the community. But not just that, there are also a lot of phishing wallet applications in these platforms, so you might lose your funds once your import you wallet into them. Download crypto wallets only from their official websites and download only good wallets that are open source and non custodial.

I no know how VPN can improve your network speed, AFAIK, VPN sev dey reduce network speed rather than to increase it. VPN na for privacy and for security, i have never known it to be for this purpose wey you talk now. The network wahala dey very frustrating, but i think the Airtel network is somewhat better today, but MTN is still very bad.

233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 08, 2024, 08:09:05 PM
Liverpool are lucky because the match will be held at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp squad is currently being hit by a series of injuries involving a number of key players. The return of M. Salah is a breath of fresh air for the Liverpool squad, and it is possible that Jurgen Klopp will play him from the start.
Anfield is such a difficult stadium for opposition clubs and City have struggled there so much over the years, winning at Anfield for City is a very difficult proposition, but if they want to win their fourth consecutive EPL title, they must go to Anfield and get something from that game, even if it is a draw. Salah, Szoboszlai and Nunez are all back and ready to go for this game, i know they still have some injured players, but i think they have enough first team players available for this game.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 08, 2024, 07:26:33 PM
Playing in the Champions League is certainly a dream of all players included osimhen and isn't PSG more promising to appear in the Champions League every season because they do not have strong rivals in the league compared to EPL teams?
A big and highly sought-after striker like Victor Osimhen would not just be considering playing in the CL, he will want to join a team that can actually compete for it and prolly win it, Napoli might not guarantee a player CL football every season, but at least every now and then they find themselves in the competition, so Osimhen already knows what it is like to play in the CL, winning it should be next up on his mind.

Having said that, i would love to see Victor in the EPL, i know Chelsea seems like the only EPL team interested in him right now, and they are a team in transition, so winning trophies might take sometime if Osimhen decides to join them. We can only continue to debate on his future, but we'd find out what he will do in the summer.
235  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The problem not solved, it only buys them time. on: March 08, 2024, 06:55:38 PM
I have just read that Custom Service has increased the dollar to naira rate two times in March. Is it not surprising? Not anymore.
The government has to immediately look into the custom duty charge, e no make sense say importers go pay 1,560 per dollar as duty charge, e suppose dey lesser than that, businesses go dey seriously affected by this and businessmen wey dey import their goods into Nigeria go dey face serious challenge because of this fee. The growth of businesses dey very crucial to the growth of the economy, if the government no they assist these businesses through things like this, e fit knock many of them out of business.
Access, UBA, Zenith others sell dollar at new rate as naira falls again in official market
The government is yet to tackle the problem of this country from the root, dem just dey chase after shadows, going after Binance and BDC operators no go help the fate of the Naira. A country with little to no local production or exportation, and majority of wetin we dey export na only crude oil, if things no change for this country, the future no look bright at all oh.
236  Economy / Economics / Re: China are back to mining Bitcoin. on: March 08, 2024, 02:02:07 PM
China thinks that without them bitcoin will fall, and every time, they come up with one or two reason to ban bitcoin, which their actions will affect the market for a short time. Bitcoin keep putting China to shame that she can survive and grow big without them, which makes them go back into bitcoin activities again.
China never thought that Bitcoin will fail if they ban it, and that is not why they banned Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Part of the reason they did so is because they believe crypto aids illegal financial transactions and also because of the risks involved when buying crypto assets that are not really regulated. China is the country with the second largest economy in the world, so they would not care about banning crypto or not, because it does not affect their economy in any way. Mind you that China are yet to rescind their ban, because there has been no legitimate source to that news.
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 08, 2024, 01:20:26 PM
Liverpool's injuries situation is worse but still they are doing good, and we can hope now Mohammad Salah which is well recovered will give his best in this game against Manchester City and keep their top spot in league table with their chances for the winning of title will be also increased.
Mo Salah came on in the 74th minute in their game yesterday against Sparta Prague, thus i think he should be fit and ready to start for Liverpool against City on Sunday, they are of course still missing players like Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Trent, Alisson, Ryan Gravenberch, etc, but i still think they have a good enough squad to face City. Nunez and Szoboszlai are now fully fit and they are going to bolster Liverpool's attack, Alisson is definitely a big miss, but how good has Kelleher been, he has been magnificient; Liverpool are ready to go in this game, and i don't think there is too much excuse with injuries.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 08, 2024, 10:26:46 AM
It'll all change next week. Inter is doing really well in Serie A, and it's almost certain at this point that they'll win it. But I still think Man City is a better team, they are very consistent in the toughest league in the world.
Inter Milan are currently one of the best teams in all of Europe, they are flying in the seria A and they have the advantage over Atletico Madrid to progress to the QF. Having said that, i think we can start including Inter Milan as one of the favorites for the CL this season, they made it to the final last season, and i think they can do it again with how they are playing, mind you that Real Madrid and even Bayern Munich are not playing at their very best, thus this might be an opportunity again for Inter Milan to reach another final in two successive seasons, though i don't think they can be champions.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 07, 2024, 10:35:38 PM
Aston Villa are definitely out of the league race just like Tottenham.
I don't think either of them were in the title race, i know Spurs started quite strongly this season and was on top and unbeaten for sometime, but we all know Spurs and that they could never have maintained that level for the whole season. Aston Villa too have been great this season, but they do not have the quality and depth to be in the title race, but to be in 4th position in this stage of the season and only 8 points adrift of the summit is an unbelievable achievement for a club of their level and financial strength, and it would be a dream come true for their fans if they can maintain that position until the end.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How bullish are we in this bull run? on: March 07, 2024, 09:29:22 PM
Note; this bull run just started, we can learn something new that will get you ready for the next phase.
Mind you that bitcoin bull run didn't just start now, the bull run has been on for sometime now but i noticed many people didn't consider it a bull run, until when they saw Bitcoin above $50,000 or thereabout.
- For those who the market favoured from day one, share your knowledge with others so everyone can learn and do better.
I don't gamble too much with new projects, neither am i too interested in altcoins, thus i buy mainly only Bitcoin and we all know how well Bitcoin performs and it is safer to purchase because of its utilities.
