221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 15, 2024, 09:33:20 AM
Celtics is showing once again they're the best team in the league. They beat the Suns easily. The score was neck and neck in the first half because they gave too many offensive rebounds to the Suns, but right at the beginning of the second half they went on a run and opened the gap. The Celtics used Grayson Allen's defensive weakness very well. Every time someone matched up with him, they went ahead to him and scored. Brown, Tatum and Horford were very good.

After 66 games, the Celtics became the first team to secure a play-off spot. There's a big difference between Boston and the other teams. They are by far the best in the regular season, but the most important thing will be their play-off performance.
Yes, I thought that it will be a close game as Phoenix have their own version of the big 3. And two of them, Booker and Beal are two known trash talkers, so it's really a great game to watch. And it was a very close game, but only in the first half only. In the 3rd quarter, Boston shows why they are the best team in the league, Brown, Tatum and Horford was good enough to break or negate Phoenix big 3 scoring. And I think they will get as close as 65++ game winning this season. Not sure if any teams can get close to them. But we all know that all of this is nothing if they choke on the playoff so better be Boston ready for the bigger stage during the playoff and hopefully there are no meltdown just like the last time they went into the finals with the Warriors.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 15, 2024, 04:19:26 AM

The first two fighters he has faced in his boxing career are top boxers, against less professional gamblers, I am sure Francis will win. He has had a good taste of boxing and must by now understand that a boxing professional will always be superior to a fighter from the MMA who wants to box.

It is a good learning experience for him, he made some good money while at it, the hype was surely there.
Francis Ngannou started his boxing career from the top. It’s possible he could have been better off fighting lower division fighters and work his way to the top. That way he would have gained the experience of being a professional boxer but that would mean less money. His fight with Tyson Fury was impressive, and later proved to be undoing. Because he performed so well against Tyson Fury, he got a lot of respect and praise. Anthony Joshaua only showed him Boxing is not the same as MMA fighting.
But he has a lot of hype going into the pro ranks and that's why he started at the top, fighting Tyson Fury and the hype continues because he almost pull an upset, knocking down Tyson Fury. So I don't think that he will start from below those fighters he has fought. The theme here is that there is money to be made by him, and I think this is one of the reasons why he severe his ties with Dana White as he was not offered good money although he can bring fans to the arena and sold out the octagon when he was the main card. He can still go back to PFL and make millions, so it's really a good decision by him to go and try to test the pro ranks and had plan B in case that didn't went well for his career.
223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin breaks 2021 ATH and hits $71k! on: March 15, 2024, 03:10:46 AM
Now it's time for a bullrun, whatever the factor is, it will always be associated with high demand or the pope buying large amounts and even the news is that Saylor will buy more bitcoin.

Bitcoin is now where the season has gone up, namely bullrun, this is a 4-year cycle but the difference is now where ATH is before halving but before that it was NOT so that might be a slight difference, knowing the highest ATH I predict $150K can still be reached in the next few months or in 2025.
This is what bull run is all about, and we are about to enter it technically after the block halving. Yes, that is true, this is the first time that we hit new all time high before the halving and it makes me thing that obviously, the bull run will be very much different as well. Obviously, we will see $100k for the first time, and we could only speculate how big it's going to be, $100k-$180k as others have predicted. For sure everyone is now drooling of the potential profits that we will get. However, still, everyone should be patience. Not the time to sell even if he hit $70k. Wait for the six digits this year or next year and then time the market when to sell.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does El Salvador benefit from making Bitcoin Legal Tender and 0% Tax? on: March 14, 2024, 11:03:25 AM
As many of us already know El Salvador sits on $84M dollar unrealised profit from holding since September 2021, A government that completely supports and encourages BTC got me thinking how it is going to work in Long-Term? Dropping the tax on Crpyto from 30% to 0% is just beyond me. Keep in mind that El Selvador is not a First world country, It is a Third World developing country. How are they going to develop infrastructure and invest lots of money into education and health sectors? Everyone now living there is going to choose crypto over their local currency which is gonna make the whole country decentralised.
I think we have the wrong mindset in the beginning here, I assumed that the OP is just thinking that El Salvador only rely on their Bitcoin investment. They have trade partners like US, and their Top 3 Exported Goods (2021): Apparel: Knit, Plastics, and Paper, and their top industries: Food Processing; Beverages; Petroleum; Chemicals

https://globaledge.msu.edu/countries/el-salvador/economy

So don't be mislead that Bukele is just going full blown 100% on Bitcoin as their main source. So even if it drops, their economy is going to continue and so they could have other sources to improved their infrastracture and health care. Removed their Bitcoin investment they will still going to survived. Their Bitcoin investment is just a plus for them.
225  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price will you bitcoin holders sell if we have a major price spike? on: March 14, 2024, 10:25:33 AM
Well I think you are right about the number 100k. That number is such a high number and I think people will start to sell and take profits when it does go that high.  And now I do think it there is a good chance it does see that price this year.
At some point, investors will have to sell in my opinion, and it's obvious to get the profit. I mean if you have been holding or accumulating like in 2022 or at least during the FTX collapse, that is a huge gains already if we hit $100k. So maybe the plan is to sell just in parts. If it hit $100k then sell some, and so $120k or if we hit $150k. At least that could be a good strategy in my opinion, staggered sets and at least you could have taken profits every time the price reaches new heights. But not today though, it's just $70k and not going to make that great ROI in my opinion. Next year should really be the goal for everyone to sell.
226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rolando Romero-Isaac Cruz to meet on March 30 in Las Vegas. on: March 14, 2024, 10:00:33 AM
And so just bumping this thread, damn, this fight is just about a week and we must have totally forget about it. But in any case, this is going to be a great fight. Romero defending his belt against Isaac Cruz. He did have some message on Ryan Garcia though and he is very serious about it as we all know that Ryan has had a breakdown recently in his social media as if he has his mental issues again. He just advises everyone around him to be there with Ryan and those that we have seen could be a signal that Ryan could be asking for help, according to him. No chances in the odds, Rolly still a big underdog.
227  Economy / Gambling / Re: justbit.io asks for KYC (their site say NO KYC) then confiscates my winnings on: March 14, 2024, 06:01:42 AM
The confusion here is that you didn't read their terms and conditions, they might have just said no kyc to convince you make deposit, cause many sites doesn't request KYC for deposit but only after you want to withdraw.

That's why it's good to read terms and conditions, cause if you did you won't find yourself in this mess right now.

I think such casinos that lie when doing promotion are not honest and are trying to mislead users into making deposits, but as users we should always do the extra check to make sure we don't fall I to such traps.
Wrong, that is already a trap for gamblers, so there is no confusion, it's more of misleading their customers to deposit and play and hope that they will lose money so there will be no KYC for them. But as soon as they started to win and win big, this casino suddenly started to ask for KYC where in their site it's says no KYC. I think gamblers now are more intelligent than before, 90% could have been researching casino's ToS first before making their first deposit. I know it's a never ending dilemma for gamblers in crypto casinos, but I guess this kind of attempts to mislead is done on purpose like in this case and it's obvious a scam attempt.
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 14, 2024, 05:17:37 AM
For sure, Ngannou will excel in boxing with time, if puts his mind to it, at least he now knows that boxing is not only by physical strength alone but by the way one applies their defense and tactics they use to attack their opponent.

And just like that, the hype have died down for Francis and it proves superiority of boxers over MMA in a boxing match and rules. Yeah, the first one might give him the taste of confidence as he put a good effort and even knock down the best HW in this generation and he could have won in the judges scorecard. But against a well prepared Anthony Joshua, it was a totally different outcome, he was knockout x3 wasn't even get close to what he did against Fury. Maybe in the second tier HW division, he could probably won some, but against the top, like AJ and Usyk, he will look like an amateur against this boxers.
229  Economy / Speculation / Re: another ATH , 71k and still climbing. on: March 13, 2024, 01:02:52 PM
Why move this thread from speculation to economics? It suppose to be in speculation board.

Any reason for this Pump now?
The main reason for this pump are the institutions that are buying bitcoin and also because bitcoin supposed to be bullish this year and next year. We are in bull period.

are we  going to see 75k this time?
Bitcoin has just surpassed $72000. $75000 is very close. We are going to $100000.
Yeah, it did it $73k, and I think there is no stopping as where the price will be pre-halving. Although I think the bulls intention is to break the previous all time high. But it's not out of control in a good way. And so it's possible that with this kind of bullish momentum, $75k will be achieved or even higher as we hit the halving. There were also speculation that we could see a correction just like the previous history. But this is the first time that we have seen this kind of price movement, so the previous run could not be applicable in this bull cycle as new patterns are emerging. As for what is the reason? obviously, everyone wanted to get as much Bitcoin as they can before the halving, as the demand is going to be huge in the next couple of years. And if we buy and HODL today, it could be worth something specially reaching new all time high at 6 digits.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 13, 2024, 11:40:45 AM
Instead I would better watch Ngannou having mma fight. I am more interested to see if he still has that "mma skill" or turning into boxing changed his style. According to wiki, his next fight in mma would be against Renan Ferreira who has knocked out Ryan Bader in 21 sec of first round. Ferreiras record is also impressive 11 KOes in 13 wins. Perhaps next time Ngannou will end up on the floor early will be the octagon floor.
And it also added that Francis chin has been broken already so maybe his aura of invincibility is gone as far as MMA goes and whoever his opponent will be will target that chin and obviously is going to test Francis now and most likely they won't be intimidated by it. On the contrary they will used that knockout against him, MMA has a lot of trash talkers as well so maybe Renan Ferreira as part of the psyche war. Not sure when is the date of his next fight. Probably Francis is just healing after that devastating lost from the hands of AJ. But we will see if he still has it, or if AJ took his soul already.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 13, 2024, 06:45:58 AM
Is it just in my imagination or have big comebacks become normal lately?
Recently I really saw a lot of them. Sometimes a team is winning the 1st quarter by like 20 something points and then totally collapse in the rest of the game.
Or a team is going into the forth by 16-20 something points just to get ousted something like 42:16 in the last quarter.
Is the the increased shooting of the 3, or is the game faster recently?
Maybe it's also that players "basketball IQ" has become worse. I mean if you milk the clock a lot it's impossible to lose 20 point leads in like 6 minutes. Just recently we saw exactly that with the Clippers vs the Lakers. Leading by 22 with 11min to go and a tie game with like 4 or 5min left. It's crazy!
Mostly bad defense when they have the big lead. They celebrate way too early not thinking about their opponent taking advantage of that lack of defense and the pressure they can bring to come back to the game.
That's what happened with the Raptors, they were pressed by the Nuggets and they made sure those stops would be worth it by using either Jokic or Murray in offense. Heck, Jokic even got a block and that's not normal. Grin

But I saw some coaches too that won't let their stars rest whenever they are on the big lead. They make it sure first using whatever calculation they have before they sit them down on a blowout game.

How about the Clippers leading by 20 points early but then lost to the Wolves at Crypto arena? They started how in the first half, rushing and leading as high as 20 points. But the Wolves didn't give up, ANT started to cook in the 3rd quarter. And him and the veteran Mike Conley and Alexander-Walker are hitting their 3 point shot. On the other hand, the Clippers are struggling and because of their great defense. There were moments wherein Paul George getting one on one against ANT but the young fellow has good defense and stole the ball from George. So it's almost a 20 point swing in this game as the Wolves won by 18 points.
It's because Kawhi  Leonard went out after the first quarter and the camera saw him leaving the arena in streetwear. It's either he will go to the hospital or something came up that he cannot miss. Maybe we will hear the reports later.
I realized that when I saw my props for Kawhi not moving anymore, he didn't enter the whole 2nd quarter and that's when they looked for him. I think it was Reggie Miller who first realized that he ain't playing anymore.
Clippers could've won this one if they have him back.
Yes, Kawhi went down, but they have built a solid 20 point lead though and in my opinion, it evens out everything out as Towns is not playing with the Wolves. And yet it looks like they choke in the 3rd quarter and they have wave the white flag early. And it's only 3 players who defeated them and they can't stop either of the 3. Harden 30+ minutes with only 12 points? So not sure what happen to the Clippers here, it's a winnable game for them that can put a good separation against the 5th seed Pelican. Maybe they think that they are safe in the playoff. But that is a bad mentality in the beginning.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Man bet his life savings on 1 spin of Roulette on: March 13, 2024, 06:12:25 AM
Yeah, seen this before, it's a huge risk on his part, it's not even 50/50 because you have the 0 as well. And it looks like though this is setup as the guy is being film so who knows what is the story behind it, maybe it's not his money. But I have seen this kind of risk as well many times, as I love to play slots as well. I had this incredible run of like 7 successive black numbers hitting during one night of my playing in a land base casinos. And I think those who loves roulette here could attest that they have tried this before, worst even bet their last money on a single digit for a 1:36 pay-out.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Blackrock control BTC? on: March 13, 2024, 05:46:58 AM
I think what you mean with this situation is that they have major shares that if decided to unload their holdings, would be impactful within the market. I think if BlackRock decides to just HODL it, it would be ideal for the community because it for sure, wouldn't be sold. It's just the assurance that we all will see.
This people are smart, I don't think that they will just off load their shares and sell and panic the market. On the other hand, they will continue to buy. But I don't think that they can control it, Bitcoin market is too big already. It's open 24x7 and it's more on the retail investors who buys and sells Bitcoin at any point in time.

Unless something were to happen, it would stay at its is. I think that would be the case.
Maybe they will take profits for their clients and for themselves. But with the incoming bull run, I think the case will be is to buy and then HODL and we will see what's going to happen in 2025 when we hit the top price.
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull run again, huh on: March 12, 2024, 01:35:28 PM
On this forum, I found out some information, and seriously want to ask it here.
What is a realistic expectation from the bull run, given  the last one in March 2021, Bitcoin hit  $61,000 and fell down to 31k about two couple of months later... It rose later on, amazingly though. But is this price fall normal in the bull run?? What is a helpful tip here.
I think this is the normal behavior of Bitcoin. As many of us who are closely connected with cryptocurrencies may know that the price of Bitcoin hit an all-time high in 2021. Since then we haven't seen any significant growth in Bitcoin but three years later in 2024 its price hit an all-time high again. As you mentioned when bitcoin price hit $61k and dropped to $35k it was called a market correction. This market correction happens constantly in the cryptocurrency market.
The only difference is that we are hitting new all time high and this is a first. If we go on what you have describe, then the new all time high should be after the halving. But that is not the case already. Of course, when we enter bear market, we won't see any significant increase, and on the contrary, the price will go down hard.

We may be in the early stages of a bull run many of us or many investors are predicting a bull run in the market after Bitcoin Halving. We all expect the Bitcoin price to reach much higher heights during the bull run.
That's what I'm saying, if we are to look at it's previous history, the bull run should be happening April>December of 2024. But the unexpected happen and again, there could be many first this bull cycle, pre-halving all time high and most likely we will see a huge run, and we are going to hit 6 digits in 2025.
235  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc new oil for USA on: March 12, 2024, 11:56:41 AM
I do not see any relationship between Bitcoin, BlackRock, oil, and the analysis you provided to support your argument that Bitcoin is here to stay. BlackRock manages assets in the trillions and these investors like to diversify their investments, and since Bitcoin has been making a lot of noise in recent years, some investors will try investing in this new asset.
Without a regulatory overlay and decentralization, Bitcoin will fail to serve as a currency for settling international trade.
Exactly, there is no relationship between Bitcoin and any other asset. I don't know what people are now connecting everyone to Bitcoin. I guess this is what bull run can bring though, everyone's imagination is running. But during the bear market, lol, no one even mentions Bitcoin but giving them the negative publicity. Of course just like oil, maybe when you invest on them it will make you money. However, Bitcoin is on a different stratosphere, it's one of it's kind, it's crypto that we haven't seen, and it's obvious that the market is very young, just 10+ years and yet as we can see, it has taken the world by storm that it has been compared to gold before and now oil.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake loses $615k bet on Joshua-Ngannou bout on: March 12, 2024, 11:35:14 AM
I'm not sure if someone in the thread commented like this, but for me that bet might be part of paid partnership negotiations with Stake and Drake. It could be free bet and in addition to that Stake.com will give another payment for advertising. This is how most casinos work when it comes to advertising. And I consider that bet as decoy so that some bettors will tail that bet. These are just my thoughts. How about you?
They have been partners for years already and it could be true that maybe it is Stake money for promotion. Or Drake getting a cut if ever he won, so there's a lot of speculation from behind as Drake is known to be a big bettor. It's not that Drake cannot afford to bet with that kind of money, but he has been doing this for years when he got under the Stake banner and it's hard to think that a big whale was able to sustain this kind of bet. He also stream roullette with huge bet as well like every week and then give some around $20k as a raffle for his fans. Just bad if someone fall for the curse of Drake and follow his bet because you are going to lost big money already.
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 12, 2024, 11:02:57 AM
AJ was underestimated? Only a casual fan in the sport with zero to little knowledge will underestimate AJ's chances against Ngannou. I want Ngannou to win against AJ but I did not bet. For the knowledgeable fans, it is very hard to imagine a well-trained high ranked losing to Ngannou. These pros spent years since they were kids enhancing their skills and gaining experience.

But in the first place, Francis is just into boxing to cash out that can set his financial freedom. Surviving, scoring a knock down and losing close to Fury was a bonus. I am glad Ngannou earned around $30 million in just 2 fights. He deserved it. He can retire for good and help grow PFL.

Yes, AJ was underestimated. Look at vote results. 18 out of 29 were in Ngannou favor. People have voted not based with their record, but by eyes (Ngannou highlights on youtube are much better than AJs Cheesy). In addition previous unimpressive performances by AJ confused many. I was the one who did not believe that AJ will be exactly the one who would put a solid dot on Ngannou boxing skill/career. Actually Fury must have done it Cheesy I like one comment from youtube "AJ has cleaned the mess Fury created" Cheesy
It's more of the feeling that boxing fans here thought that Francis has enough skills to bet a professional boxer (as Francis background is MMA). But it's not going to happen though, at least AJ proved everyone wrong again that Ngannou because of his power is enough to beat him. And we see the skill difference, AJ shows that technique is better that raw power. Did not give Ngannou any chance to settle with him, but instead AJ took it easy and uses his strategy and what they have plan with his trainer. It's simply actually, he attack the body early and Francis fall for it. He tried to block it and then AJ goes to the head when Francis read that AJ will go to the body again. So it's a misdirection and boxer knows for that kind of simply but effective technique.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 12, 2024, 10:37:14 AM
It is doing it's job and garnering attention and deny it or not, its getting us commenting on the subject whether we like to admit it or not.
You can't saw it isn't fascinating to debate about if it is right or wrong.
One youtuber which sounds like an AI voicechanger type bot account had a video I watched yesterday. Well due to Joe Rogan was mentioned in the title yet barely had any footage between him and Paul in the video.

Some points to get you thinking about this fight, a devolution of the sport of boxing?
Perhaps. But entertaining to ponder about.
Joe Rogan BRUTALLY WARNS Jake Paul Of Fighting Mike Tyson
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGGyM_2PsNg

This seems to be going in through the motions as there is a clip out there where Iron Mike is back into training.
Yes, it did already garner the attention of anyone in sports, not just in boxing, as this is being discussed already.

a. It's just a question on how Mike Tyson is fit at 58 years of age. Will this affect his legacy as of the greatest in the HW division? Although is career has been a lots of up and down but he is considered one of the legends already. So him accepting this fight against a youtuber could really affected is legacy in my opinion specially for boxing purist.

b. Jake Paul is small for a HW, as far as I know he is a CW, so this could be a mismatch for Mike Tyson. But he has the youth advantage, but he should still be careful as Mike could still carry that power even at this age.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 09, 2024, 08:47:22 PM
Looking at the four teams that will play play-in tournament, Kings, Mavs, Warriors and the Lakers I can say that Lakers actually has a chance. However, it is not going to be all that easy at all, it will definitely feel like it will take a while to get there. I realize that it is going to be a tough one, and I realize that it will not be easy for them to get those wins but with Lebron at the helm, I feel like anything is possible. I am not saying that they will win, I am just saying that they have a pretty good chance this way.

It should be pointed out that we still have no idea how the league will end though, if one of these teams go on a big win streak, then they may end up with something major without a doubt, it has to be bound to change.
All of them have equal chance, this 4 team have great players in them. And so it's hard to predict you will be in or who will be eliminated. The Kings has Fox and Sabonis, while obviously the Mavs have Luka is playing MVP this season. And only a couple of games separating the teams in the West, so anything can still happen. Maybe on the top teams, they could still experience losing streak and then this 4 teams climbing up. So yeah, anything goes for now, and hopefully there will be no more injuries in the West so that we can really see the full potential of the teams and make it more exciting to watch and hard to bet.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 09, 2024, 03:50:56 AM
After the first knock down, Francis didn't know what to do and all strategies have been throw out of the window and you can see in his facial expression that he has lost already. But AJ was so focus to really finished him in this fight. He put everything in that overhand and it's scary how Francis landed on the canvass, he could have hurt his knees from the power that AJ put on that one punch. Tyson Fury watching the fight might be thinking, what the hell happen.

https://twitter.com/elusiveraf/status/1766264114156879907

I was disappointed with Zhang's result. I thought he did enough to get a draw at least as he had two knockdowns but both fighters were far too apprehensive in the first two rounds not really doing much. I'm sure we will see that fight again soon as Zhang has a rematch clause.

There will be a rematch clause indeed. Was very close, but I think that 2 knockdowns might be enough for for Zhang to win. But Parker uses his boxing IQ and try to survived up to the final bell and Zhang was out of gas.
