221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lot of gambling sites are scams ! on: April 15, 2024, 05:47:24 PM
Online betting has become the main concern for the majority of young people, as players flock to casinos forcefully to obtain the largest possible amount of money. There are those who invest thousands and millions of dollars, but there is a serious problem as the majority of sites provide facilities to ensure players’ participation and entice them with large sums of money. Then they steal every cent directly.
When it comes to gambling, when you find a gambling platform that works for you then it's best not to jump from one site to another as this increases ones chances of playing from a deceitful site... Besides places like the BCT forum help sieve out all the bad players as feedback is usually given on which site to go to and which ones that are actually paying etc....in short the feedback system on Bitcointalk works and users should not be scammed in this era!!!

There are sites that do not target young players, as their victims are those with large amounts of money. Other sites initially deal transparently and seek to gain the trust of the players until they obtain a large audience. Then they begin their hellish plans. So , the majority of gambling sites are unsafe and it's hard to trust them .
Gambling sites target players that have greed in them because they never allow themselves to lose!!!

How can I choose the best betting site that provides me with a safe betting experience?
Does this site provide a high level of safety for its players?
I need help from those with experience in this field
If I were to choose a betting site if I was totally new to it, I would look for one that has been around in the business for quite some time...

Look for one which an active presence on this forum...things like running a signature campaign etcetera...

Find one that has a representative that helps sort this out when need arises...

223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of eSports Betting on: April 15, 2024, 03:47:04 AM
Esports have become one of the fastest rising betting markets in the world. There are several factors for this, including the advent of cryptocurrency in sports betting markets, which makes eSports betting something that every handicapper should check out. See below for the top factors that has led to the rise of eSports gambling along with its strong connection to crypto sportsbooks.
Personally being a gamer I have known esports from my gaming community and a because I do play some of these games too , but the real game changer was when gambling companies have got into partnership deals with most of these esports teams which has really given the sport some real visibility and marketing platform for both parties which is a win win...and for some reason I wonder why the partnerships has to do with crypto sports bookies but they really have made their mark...

Erik ten Hag walks out of a press conference when asked about Man United's worst Premier League finish in history.
Source: https://x.com/fabrizioromano/status/1779239482874544533

when asked about Man United's worst performance he replied "I don't comment" and walked out...  Cheesy lol
The press are your friend, but when you start dodging such questions the press won't let you off the hook as this is now big news for them, and whatever comes next for Erik Ten Hag will certainly be justified and I don't see him lasting another season when this is done!!

Coming back to some EPL action, today had some pretty interesting fixtures and we saw Liverpool losing it when we all thought it would have an easy 3points but palace had other plans to spoil their afternoon...another reason that shows the EPL isn't easy.

Is this good advice for those who can't afford a hardware wallet?
First and foremost, it's not mandatory for everyone to have  a hardware wallet unless you have to , but for the experience I think you can put it on the bucket list just to make yourself a complete crypto user Smiley

Using a Bitcoin Electrum wallet or other, disconnect from the internet before generating a new seed and never connecting to the internet again.

Until you are ready to sell everything in that wallet.

Is this practice similar to using a hardware wallet? This advice came from a man I know who said to have been keeping his BTC since 2013 in the same manner, he said the internet/online is the culprit or enemy of every crypto wallet.
Honestly if it's security you concerned about then a cold wallet it what you need, anything that has to do with the internet does kind of put your coins at risk especially with Blackhat hackers and scammers working tirelessly trying to get hold of our coins forcefully... But if you don't mind the risk and have great safeguards to protect your coins then you can go ahead with the hardware wallet...btw with one of these big brands in the hardware wallet business that got compromised awhile ago, I would advice keeping all coins in one basket, spread the risk to minimise the damage!!!
229  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New trader's must remember it. on: April 13, 2024, 07:00:26 PM
Now-a-days many people are interested in trading. But it is harmful for everyone especially those who are trading without knowing it. They are losing all money despite knowing technical analysis. The main reason is psychological.
Trading has really caught people's attention and everyone wants to be part of this....and if you ask me , this FOMO is actually one of the reasons why people are failing because they don't have a strategy to start with and keep gambling which every profitable trade knows is a recipe for failure!!!

On the "Psychology " part I kind of agree...very few people know how to manage this but you can counter this by following your strategy to the last bit...

I have shared a photo below if following this photo will benefit them. Although beginners get technical analysis right then they get lost in psychological. I think this psychological conundrum should always be kept in their head.

Noted: This photo is taken from a group. Avoid copyright issue.

Emotion for me is the real winner that gets most traders losing because they lack the patience and just can't wait..if that's not what will get you, then the revenge trading will as none of us love to see ourselves losing which is why the blowing of accounts happens...
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 13, 2024, 06:43:56 PM
I need Bournemouth to beat Man United today so Newcastle can sit in the Top 6. If Chelsea will not play European games next season, Man United must not play too.
Spoken like a true Chelsea fan but unfortunately Bournemouth didn't do enough to stop United from getting an equaliser which came all thanks to an Adam Smith handball in the 64th minute which lead to a penalty kick and Fernandez made no mistake and màde it count which tied the scoreline 2all... All in all this was a great game and with few games to go, am confident that Manchester United will finish on top of Chelsea no doubt!!!!

Injury excuse is tired as well, Newcastle actually still play a good brand of football with loads of injuries & played a winger who’s never played at RB before today against Spurs & Krafth at CB lmfao.

Whilst having to start Dubravka every game as well.
Talking of Newcastle, well let's just say these lads outclassed Spurs who have no excuse for that humiliating result hands down 😅🥵🙌!!!

Hope these guys continue to play like this and we can see them challenge for a top 4 or top 2 spot  someday..
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: April 13, 2024, 12:57:33 PM
Tottenham have approached this game with a  casual attitude and they paying the price as Newcastle leads them by 3 goal's to nil and no signs of resilience from them, what the hell is going on with Spurs this season...

Btw, I don't remember the last time these guys had a shot at goal as the Saints have really turned up the heat and have been excellent defensively and offensively...

@Trofo I know you love these Tottenham assets, have you dodged the bullet with that Madison yellow card, I come in peace 😅🫣  Cool

I hear Rodri asked for rest by himself so not so sure about him starting. Gonna see soon, personally I never trust the leaks 100%. I acted on them and brought in Foden for Son. Quite sure I am gonna regret that one but it was a move to free some funds.
Dodged one bullet with the Son transfer  Grin
232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is bitcoin a good chance for the future on: April 13, 2024, 12:39:01 PM
I don't know much about bitcoin, and I also want to invest in bitcoin, but I want to ask whether bitcoin has good potential for the future? and what,, many people who lose investing in bitcoin.? and I want to know why people experience losses investing in bitcoin?
Here is something I do before investing be it online or in real life, first off you need to understand the concept of a product and what can make it grow and in the case of Bitcoin we believe it hasn't reached its full potential as it's been operating in unregulated territory, but know that it's getting regulatory backup and getting available on bigger markets...this alone gives any potential investor a reason to invest in it...

And you OP being someone that has shown interest in BTC, what has you due diligence lead you too...if it's ticking all the boxes as being a viable investment I see no reason to stay away at the moment as so many factors in the pipeline will support its bullish move such as the Halving and institutional investors jumping in...

235  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe in savings or investment on: April 12, 2024, 09:23:40 PM
For quite some time now we have been hearing about savings and most people who are working in some oil firm or some civil servants so much believe on saving and their pension. What if those savings are turned into investment what do you think could be their results by now extremely rich or wealth?
Just to put it out there...In the world of crypto, saving money as a hodler in form of crypto is as good as an investment, and in the fiat world saving might mean either gaining or not gaining an interest on your principal amount ..but do any of these amount to extreme wealth, well I think let's just say your input determines your output...if you put in a tonne of money expect a huge return, while if you put in peanuts expect to get small returns.

For long have been around here seems like people who belongs to this world think much of investment than savings while the real world focuses more on savings but if I could recall correctly, any money in savings doesn't yield and add to the account while investment is what gives us money or profits at every end of the day week or month irrespective of how little it could be it's better to have investment than savings.

What do you think?
Honestly I think investment and saving are all the same at the end of the day,  it just depends on what terms you negotiate for.. for example you can save your money with a bank at an agreed rate of return and treat this as an investment, other's will save money with a bank with no interest received which is why I said it all comes down to terms agreed and the alike which doesn't make it different from an investment.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: April 12, 2024, 07:29:31 PM
First of all I will like to define hobby in my own understanding. Something that one like to do always either for pleasure, leisure or entertainment.
I guess you can add "stress free" to this definition as there is no hobby I know of that causes stress to anyone...and btw for anybody that is having a losing run  from gambling can never enjoy losing money and this disqualifies it from being called a hobby!!!!

Quote
Re: Is Gambling A Hobby?
Coming to think of it, most hobbies if not all hobbies I know of  out there have turned out to be  professions....which means if we have gambling as a profession for some people, then this can easily be called a hobby too as  people involved love what they do and have fun doing it...
237  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I almost become a millionaire on: April 11, 2024, 04:20:14 PM
In the year 2010,my best friend introduce me to cryptocurrency and he advice me to invest in bitcoin. I felt bitcoin was another ponzi scheme created by scammers to scam innocent people. Today my friend is a multi Millionaire. If only I had listened to his advice,I would have become a millionaire by now.
Having being in the crypto scene for over 10 years, I can tell you for certain that just because crypto worked so well for your friend doesn't mean it would have served you the same good luck as it did for your buddy!!!

Just so you know, I believe the best Hodlers that turned out to be millionaires are those that bought Bitcoins or other Altcoins without intentions of really making this as a real investment to follow vividly...this was more like what the hell it's only a $100 investment or $1000 investment and forgot about it... But anybody with bills to pay and using their last money on BTC investments would have never held on for a long time as they would have liquidated this investment at any point the needed the money which is why the best Hodlers are those with other streams of income.

239  Economy / Economics / Re: The current situation in the country Nigeria. on: April 11, 2024, 02:42:21 PM
The hardship in Nigeria increase day by day the massive are suffering. The poor old men and women. That doesn't have access to bank are suffering.
Believe it or not but price of commodities around the world has all gone up thanks to the war in Russia-Ukraine which has a spiral effect of increasing gas pump prices and other commodities in turn are indirectly affected..as human's we are survivors and I believe our friends in Nigeria will survive this hurdle.

Just imagine a pregnant woman died in a hospital just because there was no cash the network was bad for transfer. Where are we going to.
I find this hard to believe, don't doctor's go by the oath of human life first before anything...
if this really happened find a way for the affected person to take legal address to see how they can be helped...

Our people are suffering they are dying our leaders should do something about it to me I don't think we have leaders anymore. The people we call our leaders have already failed us. Now it's time for election let's vote wisely let not suffer for 8 years again
The problem is waiting for a miracle from politicians which is the wrong approach, these don't owe anybody a life which is why people need to hold the bull by its horns and find means to put food on the table .
