2201  Other / Off-topic / Don't do drugs, or: I was boredcoin. on: August 07, 2014, 04:19:05 PM
I was boredcoin, and what started with a small sentence of maybe ten words got totally out of control. Here we go:

Quote
although smoking dopecoin is not as dangerous as using junkcoin like cryptometh, you should be smartcoin and stop frycoining your brain using potcoin just to be coolcoin. it's not goodcoin for you. better eat an applecoin or drink a coffeecoin or teacoin, this also saves you cashcoin and you don't risk your libertycoin. playing lottocoin with your health is not logicoin, as life is not a gamecoin!

i don't want to judgecoin, but it only makes your primecoin efforts being lazycoin sitting around on your coindesk in the darkcoin, chasing the boostcoin and wanting more sexcoin with young maidsafecoins for an infinitecoin amount of time. But as a heavycoin potcoinhead, your chancecoins are higher that you'll have to wankcoin alone. and if you're luckycoin, you might get huntercoin's disease before you're 42coin years old. and that's only the top of the icebergcoin! trustplus me, that happens every day in the worldcoin, it's really extremecoin!

so this is the keycoin: startcoin a freshcoin life, functioncoin and become socialcoin again (and do it fastcoin!). use all the energycoin you have, savecoin yourself and don't become an un-stablecoin shadowcoin of yourself, be the mastercoin of your own life and get the best karmacoin on earthcoin. that's more of a jackpotcoin than goldcoin, plus it's a billioncoin times better because if you're curecoined, you'll feel ultracoin supercoin securecoin - you namecoin it! it's only unobtainium if you don't start the battlecoin and try the maxcoin you can to stop using cannabiscoin (even if the desire for those greencoin leafcoins seems somewhat unbreakablecoin). your goalcoin should be to live a prospercoin life, and to do it 365coin days a year - ultimatecoinly, you can only wincoin!

Just my two Pennies,
allyourbase, asking himself if we *might* have too many altcoins. Wink

Good evening all.

As promised all though late I would like to present to you the new Ultracoin Multipool www.ultraminers.com OPEN BETA. We have worked very hard on the back end over the past 2 weeks. We have gone through everything with a fine tooth comb to bring a stable and reliable multipool, in the hopes to both encourage the price to rise with buying Ultracoin to pay miners and to bring more acceptance to the coin. So anyway down to the pool.

10 coin multicoin pool. This will be increased in stages to 15 coin, 20 coin and so on miners and costs permitting. We have support for 3 algorithms SHA-256 SCRYPT and X11.

The front end is A big work in progress but works and does what it says, the backend is where the magic happens.
The pool is running Nomp rather than mpos. it is more stable more reliable and has alot more scale it terms of multipools applications.
That being said you do not have to register with the pool instead you create a mining key a private and mining key. This in turn makes mining alot more anonymous as you import the private key into your UTC wallet to get paid. No coin is stored onto the server for more than 15 seconds at a time to safeguard security, it truly is a amazing setup.

We would like to encourage as many miners as possible to head on over to the FEE FREE multipool and start earning some UTC and to help encourage more miners to jump on board.

We are open to any suggestions, constructive criticism and general input. We hope you have a trouble free time mining at the multipool.

MANY THANKS Craig.  WWW.ULTRAMINERS.COM
Wow, just... wow. I'm not a miner at all, but it looks great so far. I also like the idea of just creating a mining key w/o the need to register very much.

My sincere respect for your work.

nsimmons, please explain to me why you are trying to fud price down when it's already cheap? you can buy from the orderbook.

You are welcome to read my previous posts for your answer. I am not interested in buying anything that hasn't been thoroughly vetted. Trying to time speculative, illiquid markets is too stressful. If the fundamentals are sound, then I can outlast a down trend, just ask my gold. I did get out of silver a week before the 2011 crash, but that was just luck. But if the fundamentals are not strong, my investment quite readily can go to zero. Bitcoin is volatile enough.

Hype is hype. I watched the dotcom bubble, I watched AOL buy Time Warner and thought who the fuck uses AOL. I'm not looking to make 700% by next week.

fucking AOL, i had to phone long distance to use that shit in 96, because our town didn't have an isp. You know how long it took me to download nt 4.0 on a 14.4 modem.

Took me a week to download netscape browser... da good 'ol days...9600 baud

that takes me back. Slackware linux in 1.44mb sized chunks. About 20 years ago. Including x windows it took me forever. Started at 2400 baud on BBS's. Anyone remember doom multiplayer ? Ah what greatness...
Was that an acoustic coupler?
I got access to the internet when 56k was current. And I found it to be so slow... couldn't imagine 2400baud Smiley

No timeframe has been given. They tried that a while ago, but it blew up in their face. So now they're sticking to "It will be released when it's ready".  Until then, you can enjoy the beta version.

It's always good to learn from past experience. Better testing new features thoroughly, providing a solid product than delivering something unstable. Smiley

Does anybody know if the source on Github is recent/compatible with the current blockchain? Need to compile myself for GNU/Linux, as I don't own a Windows OS.
Yes
Thanks, will give it a try as soon as time allows for it Smiley

As far as sending Bumface to North America, that is going to be expensive. It would be much cheaper to have a representative go or do a digital conference if possible. I don't think it would be impossible to ask for and it would be great exposure for Ultracoin. OR, if we can't have Bumface go out there, send out a team of community members to the conference and see if we can rent a table. I will call today if we can do that regardless.
We do have all the technology available. We live in a modern time. Crypto is modern time. I totally like the idea of a digital conference. I bet they'll arrange it. Smiley

.edit: grammar

@Craig

Thank you for your hard work with Ultracoin. I will be sure to blast the announcement out on social media when your pool is complete.
... and I will retweet it Smiley

Craig: just one question: is it possible that you were testing the automated buying on cryptsy.com today? Wasted this whole Sunday there and recognized some unusual behavior. Smiley
2212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 27, 2014, 07:41:44 AM
Hi all we are just making some adjustments to the front end of things. Once completed we should be good to go on the multipool.  It has all been setup and finished to pay out every 24 hours. All blockchains for the different coins updated ready to go. We are testing now with our rigs and asic machines and all is going good so far. We may be delayed by a day or two, we were hoping for a sunday launch but to be more realistic it is looking more likely to be monday / tuesday. We want everything to be spot on to save any more downturn and bad rep for the coin and multipools.

Thank Craig.
This is great. Although I'm not much of a miner, I'd like to say thank you for the efforts and jumping in when the other multipool did not work anymore. Smiley
2213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: July 26, 2014, 09:40:55 PM
I was going to send some coins to another wallet and it gave me an error about that the coins was spent but not in the wallet.dat or similar. Now in my wallet it shows minus my coins but it's not being broadcasted on the network. I sent a small amount first for testing and it worked without any problems. What can I do about this? Anyone who had this problem before? Have I lost the coins?

Transaction ID is 092c43772b19a3e7db93315f6b8e18403d2320e5a44ef94ce0830ce52e6ef430.

EDIT: I used the debug console and fixed it. Had me sweating there for a while  Grin
Hmm, seems I have the same problem right now. Keep on getting the message that the tx is not successfully broadcasted to the network. Using the console's command "repairwallet" seems to work fine, but I'd rather be able to send some coins... strange.

.edit:
When trying to resend the tx, I'm getting this error: "Error: The transaction was rejected. This might happen if some of the coins in your wallet were already spent, such as if you used a copy of wallet.dat and coins were spent in the copy but not marked as spent here."

.edit2:
Welll, now, about 30min later, my transactions seem to go through slowly. Had 4 resends, I'm curious if they all appear in their destination ^^

The UTC markets are eerily calm. Something big is about to happen (up or down?) Place your bets people.
Indeed. It took me more than 24 hours to buy 7450UTC at 1611sat on Cryptsy. Placed the buy order on top and since then, it stayed top. 13UTC still open. ^^

I'm expecting a slight rise to maybe 2000-2500sat, as I watched UTC always moving in this range. But as always: we will see what actually happens. Smiley

.edit: ultracha.in seems to be down again. Sad
2217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mintpal hacked (VeriCoin) on: July 21, 2014, 11:05:36 AM

While on one hand, I'm surprised this fork hasn't been used before to solve purported theft issues, as a viable solution to that particular problem, it does create all kinds of other problems, like what about people who made irreversible payments to legitimate payees after the event?  It's B.S.

it hasn't been used before because the only way to roll back a coin is to essentially destroy every single block containing every single transaction that occurred after the time you want to roll back to.
with any large coin economy that would cause major financial chaos.

imagine you'd just bought a house or car and your transactions were wiped. worse yet imagine you sold one.... you just got your nice wad of coins and then poof all gone. "sorry we just rolled back because of theft... don't worry mintpal will reimburse you..."

given that Vericoin had very few transactions for the period of 8 or so hours between the attack and the rollback the devs took a chance to save their coin.
they saved their coin but damaged its reputation and credibility.. only time will tell if it will survive.

it was the least destructive thing to do even if the coin suffers for it because very dangerous flaws in mintpal's and PoS coin security were exposed and a thief was denied the spoils of his endeavors.
the controversy has sparked fierce debate and everyone involved is much wiser for it and a potential exchange collapse and resulting scandal have been averted

Just to make sure you know: it has been used before, even twice at Bitcoin.

With the UTC multipool down where will you mine with them that will support UTC?

There is the millon £ question.  I can't anymore...........  Undecided

I would probably be willing to run a UTC P2p node on the other box, Crap with code though.  I don't have time, nor the inclination to start a full blown pool.

Ally, unfortunately, I can't code, it's just promo stuff, sorry, I should have been more clear /ducks for cover
No problem at all Smiley
DCGirl once offered me to help me get started with the mobile wallet stuff. But I'm not sure if this offer is still valid... Coding is not the problem on my side, but if I'd start (need some time, though), I'd need some help on the coin specific stuff...
