unzipped ADL_SDH_6

un tarred source
there's a .patch.gz in the but it won't untar with -zxvf

any ideas?

root@myserv:/etc/cudaminer/cgminer-build# tar -zxvf cgminer-3.7.2-sj-0.02.patch.gz
tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
root@myserv:/etc/cudaminer/cgminer-build#

in addition I'm running 5 MSI R9 280X boards - any guidance setting parameters for these boards for Ultracoin?

Hey all,
I have been off and on this forum mainly for discussions about mining and video cards. However I am now reaching out to the community about a teaming opportunity. With the announcement of the Titan 100MH/s miner it puts many of us at a disadvantage even if we own multiple mining rigs (I currently have 30). This is obviously a game changer and I am guessing that will change the way all do business by September. I have had a few discussions with the kncminer.com support and sales staff and the announcement of the Titan has actually been well planned but they are still in the software and hardware development stages (If they are on the forum they can correct me if needed). So my proposal to the community is the following;
I have already purchased 10 of these units (in three quantity 3 and one quantity 1 purchases). As one of the first purchases as soon as they announced the capabilities, I will be one of the many receiving the first batch of units. I am looking for additional partners to either help me off set this burden (either by USD or by Bitcoin) or help me buy additional units. I am interested in having a very large ALT COIN hashing capability. That being said I will provide more detailed information to those that reply to me here.
My differentiators to others that may be doing this exact same teaming is as follows; I work with the partners on what they would like to mine (profitability being the key driver) by creating a voting site (to be used as needed), I have a developer already coming up with a program that will divide the hashing power and coin accumulation into partners’ wallets. I already have a datacenter, racks, power requirements, offices etc. This is not a new business or business idea as I am already vested in my current equipment as well as the “soon to obtain” Titans.
Please let me know if you are interested and I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you

wow - looks like I'm wire transferring money on monday

yes - for pcie - thanks

I need 5 cables total

pcie on one end and 4 gridseed power connectors on the other at staggered lengths down the cable

yes - I like those cables but I need 4 power connectors not 3 to keep my setup clean.

if you can make them I'll order 5 today

where are you located?

thanks - let me take a look at your site!!!

what are the chances of getting Gridseed PCIe - 3x 2.1x5.5mm Power Cable (50cm)

but I want 4X

I agree he is still making cables, but not the kind this post was for.  I know people are going to be looking for an alternative, so why not post one in the place people are looking for it?

Regardless Bob, it is a bit in poor taste to plug in someone else's thread. I would appreciate it if you would at least just nix the links and say to PM you for the location. Thanks very much. Smiley

Done.  Smiley

start your own thread - there's plenty of business out here for everyone!

you've got a great bunch of product offerings!

aha - pump & dump!

one othjer question since you are more knowledgeable than I am - what other coins can be mined with sha-256 - where will everyone go once btc becomes too difficult to mine and lots of equipment is sitting around under or un-utilized

Huh

good questions - it's why I'm setting up my own pool - so I can mine alone with some of the lower priced coins.
2233  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1 TH/S dragon miner. Has anyone tried it more than 24 hours? on: March 21, 2014, 06:47:22 PM
The IP should be displayed on lcd on the front of the miner.
Enter the ip address in your browser.
This should bring up the web interface.

Change the network information and click the green button.
Change the pool information and click the red button.

I had to clicked the buttons a couple of times to get it to take.

I would not trust any pre-installed software. decoding compiled code could yield the discovery that every 1 out of 100th has went to some strange stratum you did not enter.... hmmmm.

it's why I'd run an ip sniffer in front of it or just a firewall that only permits connections to know sources. I found a bunch of odd connections even on my gridseeds that I blocked.

by the way - I heard from my guy in Singapore and he'd he happy to contact the factory and find out how much he can buy them for and ship to us.

he was an intern for us here on an exchange program when he was an MBA student at the Wharton School at U. Penn. He's a good guy and can be trusted for sure. His family is quite wealthy and he was a very hard working and humble guy.

pm me with the telephone number and he'll call the factory.

can you make my cables or are you simply going to stop making custom cables

speaking of difficulty --- is it a sure bet - cast in stone that btc difficulty will go up as advertised everywhere?

is that cast in stone?

if so - I keep wondering why people are investing $6k in 2 TH/s rigs that won;t be delivered until next month - I don't get the logic - or lack thereof...

thanks
2238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I'm stupid and need help on: March 21, 2014, 04:45:19 PM
I admit it - well maybe not stupid let's say just uneducated...

ok - so I'm looking at coinwarz.com page that allows you to enter your kh/s rate and how much you'll make per day in USD

in particular:

http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/?sha256HashRate=200.00&sha256Power=400.00&sha256PowerCost=0.1500&scryptHashRate=6500.00&scryptPower=500.00&scryptPowerCost=0.1000&sha256Check=true&scryptCheck=true&e=Coinbase

so - I see this coin called DGB near the top - it says if I mine with with my 6,500 KH/s script I can generate about $35(USD) in revenue daily.

so then I go looking for a pool that mines DGB and I find: https://dgb.luckyminers.com/

so tell me this: If I signup there and start mining am I really going to accumulate the equivalent of $35/day in DGB coins?

and then - once I have the coins how do I turn them into BTC or some other Virtual Currency?

thanks so much in advance for enlightening me....

2239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Rig that honestly works - a recommendation on: March 21, 2014, 04:04:38 PM
HI all.

I think is your first rig, so my opinion is:

-Be aware "Sophisticated" MOBO that can be a pain, try to use Comercial models with 4 or 5 PCI-e (split your cards)
-Dont use expensive CPU you dont need them, use Semprom or a cheapest 64bit new CPU if exist.
-Use at least 1.5gb RAM for each GPU card, if you have more RAM you can increase TC and avoid HW.
-Dont use a Case, use Open rigs home made is good
-Use Only 24cm Powered Riser, put the cards separately you need air flow
-Buy a big Fan to help air flow in the cards
-Use HD or SSD drive if you can (cheap USB flash are slow, and gonna die any moment)
-I recommend to use Linux, Debian or your_favorite distro, only with X server(_no_ Desktop Env.), ssh server, and AMD drivers

--IF YOU-- dont want to deal with ssh sessions, Terminals, Nano or Vi editor, Compiling Miners, Downloding with wget. USE WIN

Plus, tunning a Rig take from 3days -7days (optimal values)

I hope this can help

P.S.: (Linux)In some MOBO you have to disable Integrated LAN, and use common PCI LAN Card.

thank you so much - yes - I have a valid Windows 7 64 bit license to use on this server
2240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [AUTO SWITCH] ScryptGuild (BTC Guild) Beta - Multipool Done Right on: March 21, 2014, 01:13:07 PM
Sun is not doing much better right now.
I think all the scrypt multipools are weeding out the strong from the weak coins.

SUN should be added to it. MOON sux

Basically this.  Multipools have become major holders of the scrypt hash rate, and as a result, any coin that doesn't have some kind of community is basically being nuked.  Scorched earth mining.  Pump & Dumps aren't even happening like they used to, which is what kept most coins from falling into oblivion in the first place.  It's pretty damn hard to pull a successful pump & dump when multipools will quickly mine a bunch of <insert crapcoin here> and dump it at whatever the highest bid is.
I love it. Separating the rat shit from the pepper. Wink This has been a pretty fun experiment the last month or so.

not totally true - check out https://www.ipominer.com/

I allocate some of my mining there on the hunch one of these will get traction

for instance I have over 11,000,000 ecc coins ---- now I'm just hoping to get up to .01 USD!
