2261  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading on: October 18, 2022, 03:13:34 PM
I got 20 years in stocks trading and 5 years in Crypto, trust me that you don't want to do day trading you will end up losing all your money
I can agree to the "losing all your money" part but I will quickly add that it's not only in day trading that happens. It can also happen when you hodl or trade long term. What is key in trading is the skills (I keep going back to this). If one gets the skill set right for trading, it doesn't matter anymore whether one would be trading on daily or swinging.
2262  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading indicators on: October 18, 2022, 02:32:40 PM
Just give me leading indicators of:
1. Trendlines
2. Support and Resistance
3. Candle Pattern and Price Action
Then I might add a fancy indicator like RSI to check for momentum.

However, beyond all the indicators, if a trader's emotion isn't controlled there's little or nothing the best of indicators can do to make them become profitable.
2263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your criteria for selecting projects? on: October 18, 2022, 02:05:02 PM
For example, what are the top 5 criteria you use when investing in a new project and what are the top 5 criteria for investing in projects that have already come out?
I use the same criteria for both new and existing projects. I look at:

1. The maximum supply and then I equate it with its trading price – If price is high, the supply has to be small and vice versa.

2. Utility/usecase – I won't throw my cash on a phantom project whose dev has little or zero knowledge of how crypto works.

3. Social media presence – This is very important because community is key in publicity and information spread.

4. Industry the project is centered on – I avoid projects on saturated area. For instance, I run away from any project going into games. The hype there has died down.

5. Auditor – I use this if I'm still skeptical and trying to look for an excuse not to go in 😆
2264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not all new Projects are bad, So take the Risk on: October 18, 2022, 01:02:04 PM
I came across a post where an advise was ditch out
Dished out, you meant. 🤔

Quote
So i strongly disagreed with the term of " do not invest in a brand new project " to be risk free. A lot of new project has yielded x50
of my investment to me most of the time, What i usually do, Once they're up, i take off with my investment and interest. This is my experiences.
Yes, that's true. I don't also believe in hasty generalizations too. I try to factor in the fact that what works for one may not work for another. I've benefited maximally too from newly launched projects I bought and they performed unbelievably well with ROI out of this world.

I don’t see how Binance is an investment or a child of Bitcoin and Ethereum, did you mean BNB?
OP was referring to BNB there. Also, not BNB as a child of Bitcoin but in the order of OP's safest investments to make. To OP, Bitcoin is the most safe, followed by ETH and then BNB. That's what they meant there. Come to think of it, I don't know why OP opened a thread and refused to come back to comment on it.
2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another example is how greed destroy crypto investors. on: October 18, 2022, 11:38:54 AM
Because some Investors believe that Launchpad will give them a return on their investment.
But of course, that was true and many IDOs and ICOs performed very well then. Sadly, not any more. In 2021, launchpad was very much profitable. The ROI (Return On Investment) was unimaginable (I doubt if we can return to that era again), profit was assured even with the first distribution which was often 10% of the entire quantity individuals bought. I say this from experience.
2266  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Copy trading profitable? on: October 18, 2022, 11:03:25 AM
This is not an advice for any newbie to use copy trading. I have seen many lead traders that are copied but losing. This is just about knowing if lead traders are truly making much money.
Most of the things we see on social media are just pretences. They are just a version of "what I ordered but what I got" at the end. A few years ago, there was a dude I met on Facebook who seemed to be making money trading FX. He offered copy trading services on Octafx. He would make trade calls and close them in profit. He was a scalper and traded with big lot sizes. A few positive pips would throw him into huge profit. Then reality happened to him. He lost big time and burnt several live accounts that followed him. That also ran him into huge debts too.

For me, I haven't copied anyone's trade for live trading. I may monitor them to see how things go. In most cases, the copy traders flop and end in loss.
2267  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why DCA Strategy on: October 18, 2022, 09:08:50 AM
...DCA is one of the best of it and it's very effective at these times.

In order for the DCA strategy to be effective, it is necessary to properly allocate your funds for upcoming purchases, as well as correctly set the price at which you should start making such purchases. Otherwise, you will spend all your money, and the price will continue to decline and you will not be able to make next purchases.
You had this comment straight to the point. Spot on! This is the issue often faced with DCA proponents or the intermittent "buy the dip kind of investors." I've been trapped in this too. At every point of sticking to DCA scheme of  purchase, one would think one should increase the purchase percentage because price is expected to revert at that point. It dips more. The truth is that no one can properly allocate their funds for purchases during a bear season and get such in perfect entries.
2268  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I need help on Option Trading on: October 18, 2022, 08:15:25 AM
It seems my BTT people don't trade Option as I thought. I expected more suggestions and options for me to look into than what I see from the responses received so far.
You should know that there are few regular traditional traders here than hodlers. Those who even trade like to stick mainly to Spot and Futures, not even dabbling into Forex or Binary. So, don't be offended that your quest hasn't been properly attended to. I steer clear of Options as I consider it pure gambling. Maybe others do too.

Quote
Option trading is good and interesting in Forex, Crude oil and other traditional markets, which was why I wanted to try it in Bitcoin which is easier to speculate for that purpose.
It's good to know you've a different perspective towards Option Trading. Maybe you will teach us a thing or two about it by dedicating a thread to it here on how it's done. I will be glad to follow up on it. We learn everyday. I know how Forex, Spot, Binary and Futures work. It won't be a bad thing to add Option to my repertoire.

Options trading is a gamble! No doubt with that!
You can say that again! How else does one indulge an instrument that is timed to expire at a given duration in a volatile market and not classify it as pure gambling? Perhaps OP will tell us more about this.
2269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is the best time to buy Old Coin? on: October 17, 2022, 11:56:40 PM
Don't Invest out of sentiments. Don't invest into an old project when it dips simply because you're bagholding it. You've to check and have an idea of why it's dipping in the first place. If it's dipping because of general market condition, then it's good to invest in it provided there's utility to it. If it's otherwise (like projects not keeping their promise et al) is reason for a dip, take a walk.

The best time to buy old Coins is now, because cryptocurrency market still on the Dip mood, which can hold a stablecoin to buy more of Alt-coin and hold for a long term investment.
Hopefully, you aren't buying worthless tokens and thinking they will definitely rise again. Tokens have gone to extinction from small dip let alone a heavy one as we're experiencing it now. I believe it's the market's way of sieving out tokens without much usefulness.
2270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the US being too hard on crypto? on: October 17, 2022, 11:36:41 PM
Do you believe the US is being too hard on crypto? If not, which other country (or countries) is worst? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
Well, as someone who wants cryptos to continue its rise I would say anything that tries to inhibit its continuous rise will be frowned on. However, from an objective assessment I don't think the US is too hard or harsh on cryptos. We should see China (what a big shame) as the most draconic of them all towards crypto. It's a shame because China was very supportive to crypto in the beginning and had more miners than other countries. China's hostility to crypto now is a big lesson on how things change.
2271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to stake stablecoins with insurance? on: October 17, 2022, 10:32:07 PM
Staking, in general, doesn't come with insurance or assurance of safety. It's something every staker knows or should know. A few weeks ago I tasted that bitter taste of unmitigated risk as the site on which I staked three of my tokens closed down and went off the radar. It was then that I understood the extent of the risk involved in staking as some members have persistently warned against getting involved in it. I've read some people throwing up Binance as a safest place to stake. They should remember that no matter how safe they think Binance is that it is a centralized exchange. Not your keys, not your cryptos.
2272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi network mining on: October 17, 2022, 05:47:49 PM
Many say that the Pi Network will overtake Bitcoin.
Funny, indeed. Do you know how many tokens/coins that have been rumoured to overtake Bitcoin? If I get to collect a dollar each time that claim is made, I would've been in substantial wealth by now. Well, for your information Pi is not a reality (that's putting it mildly, anyway) and it's likely it would end that way after stressing people and giving them false hope. There were others like TBC and BTCs which were rumoured to be the next BTC. They disappeared overnight 😆
2273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: And officially worst year for investors on: October 17, 2022, 01:23:57 PM
2022 is going to be the worst year for crypto investors. Any thoughts guys?
Lol... You should've been here in 2018 or early part of 2019 to draw an experience and then compare and contrast this. In fact, it was after Bitcoin survived that horrific dump that I concluded it's a Phoenix. Whatever dip that happens now with Bitcoin, I'm not perturbed. I've seen it rise from near death before and I know 2022 won't be an exception. You might think it's the worst year for investors but that will depend where and how you're investing. Trust me, there will be investors who think otherwise because of the so much profit they've made from crypto this year. So, it's different strokes for different folks.
2274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why newbies get banned on: October 16, 2022, 04:55:10 PM
During the past few days, i've come to realized that over zealousness to get recognized in the platform is leading most newbies toward destructions. With the recent compiling list of banned account i found on the platform, i could only wish. That those newbies really takes out time to study and stay banned free.
You were just two days old on the forum at the time you made this OP and you were already dishing advice? Is there something else you may want to tell us about your stay here? I'm not one to bash members but I just had to say that. Now, about accounts getting banned. It's not a newbie exclusivity. We've had high ranked members who were caught up in this web too. Some of them their sins traced back to years back. So, that presupposes that whatever you do now here you've to do it right. Otherwise, it could catch up with you.

I recommend all newbies to stick with this beginner and help sections for days before thinking of other sections of the platform, By so doing. You gradually become a pro in your area of specialization.
That's not a bad idea but I think perusing other sections of the forum at the same time will help better. It will expose the newbie to a better workings of the forum and its rules and regulations.
2275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Logo on: October 16, 2022, 03:54:03 PM
Things we take for granted. Actually, I didn't know before now that there was an answer to the Bitcoin logo in relation to its size. The article link you provided was apt. It's the precision on details, for me.

About the logo, the rampantly circulated one which incidentally they say is the second version is better. The "BC" one looks childish to me 🙄
2276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another opportunity is coming, a time to hold on: October 15, 2022, 10:53:31 AM
To be frank,  2024 is a very long time from now. Anything can come up before then that can even change the dynamics of this crypto industry. By the way, isn't 2024 halving year? I won't even count on what the Canadians are saying. Whether they made that comment or not, Bitcoin will soar in 2024/2025. Come to think of it, didn't some people talk tough about hodling Bitcoin a few months ago only to disappoint later? For those who want to hold, 2023 is a better time to start accumulating. 2024 would be chasing price in my opinion.
2277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A painter received $50 worth of bitcoin on June 2013. on: October 15, 2022, 07:51:08 AM
The painter's case is one of the few exceptional cases we've seen about accidental Bitcoin hodlers who profited. There are cases of those who lost their wallets or couldn't remember where they kept their seedphrases or PKey and as such lost every access to their wealth. However, why would the painter still want to locate the man who sent her the Bitcoin is what doesn't make sense to me. She ought to silently and quietly bask in the euphoria of her new found wealth and not expose herself.
2278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another example is how greed destroy crypto investors. on: October 14, 2022, 01:39:54 PM
this is the reason if you have liquidated your investments you should instead invest in other coin instead, even if the coin that you just liquidated seems interesting and could grow even further but if you instead reinvests again it will immediately losing its value, if you invested in some very fluctuative coins before, it's wiser if you then move on and instead reinvests in better coin like eth.
This is easier said than done. Only those who don't trade will think it's an aberration to sell for profit and then want to buy back at a dip. Of course, that's what it always seem like until you discover that the coin you just sold isn't slowing down and then the anxious ones will start chasing price. They end up buying at a higher price and are exposed to more risk than they would've been the first time. You're right. However, what isn't that easy is the advice to buy into another coin. No one truly can tell what project will be an explosive winner so they can quickly invest in it. This is why this industry is highly speculative. We can only take a guess by navigating the murky waters with the aids of indicators and fundamentals.
2279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free NFTs are a waste of time on: October 14, 2022, 12:25:11 PM
Another one bites the dust 🧐. Honestly, I never truly understood the maddening rush for NFTs a few months ago as I saw it as needless. Now, many people are beginning to realize that it's not really worth the effort. I read in another thread here how a particular project reneged on sending certain promised NFT to its hunters as part payment, explaining that something scammy went wrong. Well, it's what it's. Every coin or token without a solid utility will always get wiped off when the going gets tough during a bear season. That's what's happening to NFTs and memetokens.
2280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next meme coin to buy in 2022 on: October 14, 2022, 09:10:39 AM
This isn't the right time to canvass for investors to buy memetokens. If I were you I would just steer clear off it. The market is bleeding right now and most high priced tokens and coins with use cases are taking severe beatings let alone a fancy memetoken mostly devoid of utility. Any of such will be swallowed up if they hit the market right now. The present day investors are very careful on what projects they put their cash on as it's now.
