good morning, so what is it "again" ? where is the people who yell "really low volume" when the price is going up ? why dont they do the same and yell "price will not go down on low volume" ?  ah sure they want the market to act on their desired direction.....  Cheesy
They're just, like, opinions, man.

opinions and wishes are not the same Wink  I wish the price to be $5000 in a week or so but in my opinion it wont go that high in a week Wink

They are just stating a fact that the volume was low. The volume was extremely low during the initial run up being under 10k in most of the exchanges. Right now most of the exchanges are above 10k and it is still the weekend. Last time there was a run up the volume was low on a weekday. You do not have to be so butt hurt about it.

wrong, wrong, wrong.... it is already Monday here in EU and I am already at work, Bitstamp had +10K most of the time and the day when the price went up the volume was more than 40K Wink and why would I be butt hurt ? I would really love to see the price moving and I don't care which direction, both works for me up or down Wink

This was funny Smiley.
You started the week at work with bitcointalk open?

yes, Bitcoin addiction, and I am an IT engineer so I am on my computer most of the time, so why not check Bitcointalk while working Wink

2306  Economy / Economics / Re: the huge Problem that most people doesn't really understand on: January 12, 2014, 07:42:11 PM
I have been reading posts on this thread I've created and I have been amazed!! I have to admit that I liked reading the different opinions  but I also have to admit that really few members here understood what I meant, or maybe I didn't express my thought the right way.

I was trying to find the right words and the right method to express what I think about saving in general and fiat money in this special case, but I failed until I saw a video of a guy with a close enough thoughts ( I really forgot what was the title I just came across it on the YouTube recommended videos..

so everything is based on trust, you have to trust the issuer to use it as a medium of exchange, Fiat and the paper it self has no value except that it was issued from your government and because of that you are somehow comfortable with exchanging it for goods because you trust your government, so think with me when you get a payment for a service/good/salary... you basically are not holding value but paper that supposedly have value based on your trust of the issuer, you hold value only when you exchange that Fiat (paper) into goods or services.

now people who work hard and save so little to be able to invest in companies/stocks/real estate and are forced to try to hold to that little cash that they still managed to save after spending on basic things, these people are the most effected, people who can not afford to buy houses and cars pay for high education .... and instead have to get a mortgage are effected even more.

what bitcoin solves Beside the technical side of it ( block chain solving the double spending) is instead of teaching your kids (the market) to get credits and mortgages to build their future is instead to save and spend later on important things first to less important things later, because that bitcoin that you are holding now will buy much more after 2 years than what that USD, EURO.... will buy you in 10 years

I still think that I didn't explain it in a good way , but I just hope that some of you there will get what I am trying to say here...

good morning guys, I was reading posts from few pages back to this last page and people are talking about the low volume and how can it effect the price in a way that it will go down, I cant help my self but to notice that the support is growing both on mtgox and Bitstamp, there is a real huge support, people opening limit orders thinking that there will be a small drop that will fulfill their orders.

this last month was one of the most interesting ones, less people execute market orders and more people contribute to the book order with their bids, I think we did create some kind of behavior "the price is going down" so most people feel more comfortable with listing low bids than instantly buying.

2313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GHash.IO and double-spending against BetCoin Dice on: January 10, 2014, 08:04:06 PM
I totally agree, the problem is with miners, I have the feeling that most of miners don't have a basic understanding of the protocol, and most of them cares only about how much they can mine and at what price they will sell.

It's always easy to think others don't understand something, but it's a lousy explanation. Look at this from a miners perspective - let's say you've invested 50-100 BTC in couple of miners and expect to mine 30 BTC in a few months or half a year. There are only three pools with network percentage above 5%: Eligius, BTC Guild and GHash.IO. BTC Guild is notorious for its 3% mining fee, compared to GHash 0%. If you mine 30 BTC in above example, is it all right for you to keep 29 BTC and give 1 BTC to BTC Guild or would you try to keep all 30? Eligius is a pool with worse service of those three, with great variance, and many miners are reporting 2% less income when mining on it than other two pools. We know from many papers why mining on pools with small percentages is not much better than solo mining, so miners have no alternative. They have to either go to GHash.IO, or accept less income for the good of the network. It's not a solution to bitch at GHash.IO, but to bring some high-quality competition on the market. Until then GHash.IO will have to artificially reduce it's own network percentage by rejecting new users who want their services.

P2pool with 0% is your answer, and yes miners created this situation, there were plenty of pools out there and the network was more or less balanced, but most of new miners were thinking of that 0% fee instead of the network overall health.....

beat me to it, new miners have no clue of how Bitcoin works and they always think bigger is better, BTW they doesn't give a flying fuck simply because they don't understand, just look, the prove that we are trying to spread the word for few months and it keeps getting worse, it is like we are doing Ghash.IO free advertisement...

when all miners spread their hashes the variance issue will be resolved, but you all have to start trying, you are carrying the network and you have to start acting responsibly, if you are aware of this then try to remind your fellow miners educate them and spread the word ....

Does anyone know why a dog licks his own dick?

Maybe for the same reason you "fuck for Bitcoins but nobodys buyin"!  Cheesy

It's because he can!

I put that line there after I came up with the idea of my selling sexual favors for Bitcoin. That concept came crashing down on me when I got out of the shower this morning and caught my reflection in the mirror.

so did you try licking your junk ? if this means anything is that you have so much time and you should try do something productive  Cheesy

People just need to chill out and relax, Ghash promised not to gain 51%.

A cryptocurrency based on promise...

it was sarcasm if you didn't understand  Wink

I know, the other part says so. The point is that their press release is just a BS. Everyone who read it wasted his time.

Based on my technical analysis that spans 5 days in length, we are CERTAIN to have a rally this weekend as per all previous weekend.

You could very well be right.  However, if r/bitcoin jumps on another hot rumor it could just as easily, perhaps more easily, go down.

One thing I have noticed in the media storm is that there are agendas flying around everywhere.

Example: the pairing of bitcoin with Libertarianism. Infusing bitcoin with this external, incidental aspect can isolate (insulate) a lot of people from bitcoin.

Another agenda: defend the gold standard.

And another: defend the current monetary system and all those who stand to gain from a demise of bitcoin.

Basically bitcoin has pissed off a lot of people, let alone the Chinese Communist Party, political power in India, and elsewhere. Singapore is ok as long as they can tax it. Again, allegiance to fiat.

I wish people could simply see the benefits that bitcoin has to offer them and not react out of fear.

So, I take all the hating on bitcoin with a grain of salt.

it has been always like that, they laugh at you, then they start taking you seriously, then they fight you, then you win, and we are between the 2-3rd stage, now they take us seriously and they started fighting us but we will win this year Wink

who still use mtgox anyway ? but it is still the market mover Wink

I would argue that Bitstamp has had more volume than gox lately.

sure, but a market mover usually leads the market, anyone can argue that Huobi have more volume than all exchanges combined but who cares about that exchange anyway
