2321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to guide a 10year old on the blockchain journey? on: October 29, 2022, 12:10:17 AM
That's pretty hard to teach a 10yrs old kid mostly this age are still at the age who love playing more than studying but I think it depends on how smart your kid is.

If your kid is pretty advanced why not try to start looking for Bitcoin animated videos to explain how bitcoin works after that if you want your kid to learn about developing Bitcoin then I have a good source of the list that you can use to teach your kid from basic to advanced.

Take a look at these sources below hope you learn and your kid the DIY blockchain would be a good part to learn fast on developing a blockchain

2322  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SEPA to Crypto - Crypto Exchanger / Crypto Exchanging Service wanted on: October 28, 2022, 11:48:08 PM
Why don't you check out exchanger monitors like BestChange? --> https://www.bestchange.com/sepa-to-bitcoin.html
The rates many not seem a little friendly but well, that's the cost of using exchangers

Most of the exchanges from BestExchange are very strict and some of them require KYC I heard a few people having an issue with some of the exchange listed on BestExchange.

@OP if you want to deal with someone the best place to post this is currency exchange . Sample this one who is looking for a long-term business with sepa below
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5413046.0

It fits your needs I guess but the rate is pretty high.

If you are looking for more like the above said P2P is your other options check bisq it doesn't require KYC.
2323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why btc cannot move pow to pos on: October 28, 2022, 11:20:36 PM
I have few POS coins before and tried to mint/stake with full node it generates me free coins but most of POS coins are not successful the price become worthless and I heard that the transaction from POS can be easily manipulated if one of the nodes is dishonest and I think their big issue is double-spend compared to POW algo.
2324  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: S9 cards only run on older FW? BrainsOS fails on them?? on: October 28, 2022, 01:23:53 PM

Thanks, but how do i use these files, i have had a play and looked for instructions but can not find any?

I can see it had a load of BIN files plus a large 4Gb image file?

I know how to flash via NAND/create image/Jumper 4 switch.

I am trying to downgrade as i have a lot of older FWs, mainly fixed frequency 550, 600, 650Mhz, plus the variable one. I also have an aftermarket FW with autotune function that is mainly used to use.

I can't find any intructions or process on how to downgrade?

I have a few cards here that i presume will work on the older/pre dated FW 2016-2019.

Cheers

Did you read the guide carefully it seems you don't know how to read the guide.

The image file that you downloaded must be extracted and the bin that you see extracted including the other files must be moved to the SD card make sure it is well formatted before you copy-paste all extracted files to the SD card.

After that move, the JP4 and insert the SD card then turn on the miner and the led must be flashing until it stops remove the SD card and reconnect the miner to the Power supply.

Now after it is done download the firmware from Bitmain look for the 2016-2019 firmware and flash it through the WebGUI.
2325  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Investing in mining during a bear market on: October 27, 2022, 11:48:04 PM
In my opinion it's worth to invest in mining equipment as long as you have access to cheap electricity, otherwise it's better to invest in different tokens or stake smth.

Stake coins are mostly not worth investing they are slowly dying after they are listed. Also, tokens are not a good option it would be safe if you can buy BTC or like dogecoin or any altcoin that has the potential to increase in value after the block halving.

Mining is optional if you have cheap power or free power and then it will give you more profit if you hold them until the day when the price reaches new ATH it always happens every block halving.
2326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: hashrate and confirmation speed on: October 27, 2022, 11:25:20 PM
Also, take note if the network is congested the transaction speed also depends on the transaction fee you set and the weight of the transaction. If you have a bigger size transaction with the lowest fee you will be put in the last queue. Pools are manually selecting transactions or they prioritize transactions that pay a high transaction fee.

So all of them have a relation to confirmation speed, not just the hashrate.

Just adding this video to make sure you understand how the transaction works https://youtu.be/6yIqXMaeEJ4
2327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Advice on how to read and set up a Telegram crypto signal on: October 27, 2022, 10:59:40 PM
Isn't it enough to get a free signal from indicators like the combination of Bollinger bands, RSI, and MACD? Telegram signal is not worth following and most of them are just created to soon ask for monthly payment.

Are you one of them?

And some of them force people to buy shitcoin to scam.
2328  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S17 PRO - not hashing!? on: October 27, 2022, 09:27:53 PM
That's the common issue for Bitmain units even old units like s9 can experience this issue sometimes the issue is due to an internet connection or the pool you use is currently down/misspelled or sometimes you need to let run it first for hours before it runs normally.
2329  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: s19j pro log..... on: October 27, 2022, 09:19:54 PM
Which logs you seems is corrupted I can't seems to find the corrupted logs you mean?

Would you mind to edit your post and put all of your logs inside code tag it's a sharp # button that you can find when editing the thread.

If you feel its corrupted why not flash the unit with latest firmware from Bitmain?
2330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No Alternative to Bitcoin, Your Alternative is Bitcoin. on: October 27, 2022, 12:06:36 AM
It just take a knowledge and experience in this market to reconsider your life choices about investment rather than keep gambling your chances to some random coins which is a fame in hype or pump and dump scheme. People might not realize it yet but maybe it was the media that told them that Bitcoin isn't as friendly as their fiat currency in the bank but no matter where I look at it both have their pros and cons and nobody is perfect. But on the other hand, Bitcoin is both an asset and a currency which you can use for trading or keep it and hold it for a long time since the value of it will increase in no time.
Bitcoin for me is perfect only governments and other people treat bitcoin not perfect and they always make it not perfect but later soon they are going to praise it after they invest. Why? Because they want to buy bitcoin at cheap and then promote it to make a profit soon.
There are 3 types of people, like you, that knows about Bitcoin and other people who are interested to learn about bitcoin and the last is someone who knows that bitcoin investment is a scam they always think that investing in Bitcoin is likely the same as a pyramid scheme.
2331  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of fake Coinmarketcap! on: October 26, 2022, 11:42:05 PM

You can try, but those reports are no longer as effective as before - and is the reason that Google has significantly reduced the number of people who were involved in this, or has the number of people who report such sites decreased.

I just know that of all the phishing sites I've personally reported, not one has been blocked in the last 6+ months. Even if you manage to block everything mentioned in this thread, new phishing sites will appear at such a speed that you won't even be able to detect them all.
Yeah, I agree but it still can help to take down that phishing site from the SERP. I know those people who make phishing sites they know that it will happen that their phishing sites will be reported right away but since all of the hacker's sites is open they are still collecting users' data like IPs and what device visitors used those data they can use it to improve their new phishing site to avoid people who reported them and exclude them on AdWords so that people like me won't be able to see the new phishing site they've created in Google SERP.

This is a known strategy from CPA/affiliate marketing and they also apply it to phishing.
2332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: October 26, 2022, 11:05:21 PM
Actually, the bear market is already long gone since July it's stable and the current price increase right now is not a sign that the market will turn into a bull market. That's too early to say that this is the beginning of the bull market.

I suggest you better check the chart for technical analysis from july to today. Unless if we see new ATH from this Q3 to Q4.
I'm not FUD that just my analysis.
2333  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problem posting images on: October 26, 2022, 10:49:42 PM
Just make sure you upload images when not logged in if you are concerned about your privacy (The only downside is that you won't be able to delete the image once it's uploaded)

Actually if you have account in imgur you have option to make uploaded image hidden unlike without an account. It won't go into public if you didn't click the "make public" its hidden only in imgur but if you share the image outside the imgur its viewable without info related to your account. So its safe if you concern about privacy.
2334  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Payments for Unorthodox Products and Services, Alternate to Localcryptos on: October 26, 2022, 02:20:50 PM
I don't remember but it seems that I heard this website but it looks like different from the old marketplace where you need to install their software and there you can find few coins, items, product and services and its a decentralized market place. I know they are legit company but it seems you are the new owner or the fake one?
2335  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: S9 cards only run on older FW? BrainsOS fails on them?? on: October 26, 2022, 01:55:44 PM
Its not failing the thing is its seems you are trying to flash the unit through the dashboard and the guide is for flashing it again with stock firmware.
If you can't find the firmware pointed from that guide above check this link below its a direct link from Bitmain then follow the guide above just make sure to move JP4 to original position after you flash.

2336  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto Gateway( Merchant) on: October 25, 2022, 11:54:59 PM
B2C is just for the consumer so it should be B2B just make sure the payment gateway you are trying to promote or market is secured and since it's new it would be better to market them with the free trial because you need to build trust first with people. Most people right now are smart they only use well-known and open-source payment gateways because we don't know if how safe the closed source payment gateway is than using open-source payment gateway like BTCpayserver.
2337  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of fake Coinmarketcap! on: October 25, 2022, 11:34:10 PM
Just a random shitcoin that I've seen on some topics. Actually, I've used different browsers for it and it has appeared for a couple of minutes and that screenshot I've made was the first time I've seen it. And then, I've made a few refresh continuously like around 3-5 times, and then it's gone.

It didn't show to me but today I tried and now there is a new phishing site using this keyword "coinmarketcap" and here is another fake one below

Code:
https://coinmaprrketcap.us/

The owner seems too desperate to get some victims and abuse the free $100 credits on AdWords.
Why not report it together again before anyone falls into this trap?

It seems they have few strategies having multiple domain and set them to target different countries and new users only.
2338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Advice -What soldering station? Ends melted on x3 hashboards? Replace?? on: October 25, 2022, 11:18:49 PM

I've always ended up having to rub mine on sandpaper, then dip in pot of flux just to get solder to stick!

I've never had the brass tip cleaner before or anything else.

I suspect a good clean before in brass/sponge will keep the coating in place for longer.

Thanks

That's not good to use a sponge/sandpaper to clean the solder tip it will always end up oxidized tip, I think most brand-new soldering iron has solder tip coated with lead and too much heat will also lead to an oxidized tip. So you need to set up the properly enough heat that can melt soldering lead. Then use steel wool to remove excess solder from the tip.
Solder wick can be also good to clean the tip.
2339  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: S9 cards only run on older FW? BrainsOS fails on them?? on: October 25, 2022, 10:59:21 PM
When you tried to revert it to the original os did you unzip the image file that you downloaded before you put it to the SD card?

If you don't know how to revert it to the original firmware try to follow this below

2340  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of fake Coinmarketcap! on: October 25, 2022, 05:12:55 PM
What exact keyword do you use? I tried a few keywords with the market cap but didn't show any ads on Google.
It seems that they targeting US users.

And based on Whois it's a 1-day old domain look below

Code:
Domain:coinnmarkwetcap.us
Registrar:NameSilo, LLC
Registered On:2022-10-24
Expires On:2023-10-24
Updated On:2022-10-24

So it's obvious that this website is being made for phishing.

I think we need a volunteer here to report them to Google below
- https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en

If more people report it I'm sure this domain will remove immediately from their Google ads and it also help our community to fall into this trap.
