241  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] [WTS] RAVENBIT NODE BRONZE physical bitcoins on: June 19, 2015, 04:32:37 AM
I got my 11 (1 from digicoinuser & a 10 pack) RavenBit Bronze Node coins in today and they are pretty sweet, I really dig them! High quality coins for a very fair price as always from RavenBit; I recommend them to anyone wanting to start out with collecting physical Bitcoins and working on a budget. The Antiqued Bronze finish is probably my favorite of the "Node" Series (besides the silver), it looks great and in my opinion it does look like an older coin in a way because of it. The new holograms are a thing of sheer beauty as well, some of my favorite physical BTC holograms so far, well done!

Oh yeah, and I got lucky and got 1 of only 6 "Orange Address" type coins in my 10 pack! 9 Grays and, what's that...? An Orange one, hell yeah!
EDIT: Lol, on further inspection it is a Yellow coin and not an Orange. Thought it was a bigger find but the Yellow's still a keeper!
242  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 5oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: June 19, 2015, 02:34:50 AM
Fantastic, that is really cool! Smiley  I see now the seats are not as expensive as I thought (I had an account on nastyfans that got deleted and i swore it said .5 btc per seat, so now I feel dumb seeing they are a lot cheaper in usd than i thought)!...

Thanks for sharing that, I appreciate it! Wink

I'm thinking seeing the seat price at 0.5 BTC you were mistaking the cost for a 1 oz. Silver Minted Seat coin for the price of a single (digital) NastyFans seat.

NastyFans is truly cool to be a part of though. Some good, open-minded people and I think the seats are a relatively stable long-term investment, in my opinion.

Edit: Plus NastyMining/NastyFans is one of the only mining & investment organizations that has been around for years in the Bitcoin world and never scammed or stolen from users. So I always feel my money is safe if I have it invested in NastyFans seats.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake on: June 18, 2015, 07:35:50 AM
Brilliant move switching Just-Dice to CLAMs and bringing it back online dooglus. I only wish I'd realized you'd done it sooner so I could have tried to invest in some of the bankroll at an earlier point in time.

I know CLAMs is a decentralized currency, however, in a way it is sort of hanging in the fate of Just-Dice, in my opinion. If for some reason JD was ever shut down and could no longer operate on CLAMs, I think this would deal a heavy blow to the currency. I would think some merchant support starting early and growing could balance out any negative effects in the future if for some reason JD went down. Which, I don't see any reason this would happen, just thinking ahead. Do any merchants accept CLAMs for payment?
244  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin Specie Project sponsored by the makers of New Liberty Dollar on: June 18, 2015, 06:13:40 AM
Yeah, these are one of the few physical BTC coins that have been counterfeited, and it's easier for the Chinese copiers to do these than Casascius coins because these don't have a security hologram like the Cas coins do; those holograms are hard to fake realistically.

NewLiberty is still active often on here, I'd be willing to bet that he didn't know coldhardca.sh/ag was down. I'm sure he'll bring it back up when he sees this.
245  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin Specie Project sponsored by the makers of New Liberty Dollar on: June 18, 2015, 05:59:40 AM
Sorry for the necro-bump, but I just ran across this thread thanks to the link in OP's signature.

I'm really wanting to know two things:

1) What URL does that QR code resolve to?  (is it still working today?)
2) Are these still for sale?

I love the idea of a silver coin that tells its value in BTC.  I've never seen anything like it and I hope that I can find one and that the links in them still work!

I believe the only way to get the Silver Bitcoin Specie nowadays is through Re-Sellers. User tyrion70 actually has both the 2013 and 2014 versions, along with the Limited Edition gold-plated Silver Bitcoin Specie (only 100 minted) for sale here on the forum. They are very nicely made coins, some of my favorite BTC and silver coins, and they look great.

Unfortunately though, there are tons of fake Silver Bitcoin Species floating around out there on eBay. You can easily spot them because they are usually listed for ~$4, are coming from China, and are almost guaranteed to be silver-plated (if even plated) instead of 1 Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver like the real deal are. Sadly I think this fact brings down the value of the real Silver BTC Specie coins.

An example of the fakes here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-freedom-BTC-Coin-Gold-silver-Plated-Physical-Bitcoin-souvenir-coin-/271860732183?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f4c299117
These are NOT the real Silver Bitcoin Species as released by NewLiberty. No one would be selling real 1 oz .999 Silver coins for ~$5 a piece with the spot price of silver more than 3x that currently.
246  Economy / Services / Re: SPOTS AVAILABLE [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: June 18, 2015, 04:35:17 AM
Hey marco,

I'm having problems getting into my Bit-X account because my phone finally died on me. I had many accounts associated with my phone so this is causing me some problems. I have my last week's signature payout in my account but can't access it. I have filled out a ticket with Bit-X support and PM'd you, but could you please let me know if you could help me out in any way? I guess if I am never able to get into my account then I would eventually have to leave this campaign.

Thanks for any help.
247  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Silver Wallets - A New Kind of Physical Storage [MEGA SUMMER SALE!] on: June 18, 2015, 04:30:46 AM
To the haters and non-believers, please see this post I just wrote up yesterday on a similar topic. Obviously the coin I was originally writing that post for is a bit different, but the costs are similar. Okay then the Silver Wallets are not for everybody...  If you don't like it and want to go buy some shit buffalo generic silver round for spot + 50 cents go for it...  and don't post here talking shit, just move along. No need to post just to bash a product you are ignorant of, and where the hell you got brass from in the Silver Wallets thread, nobody knows...  Smiley

The high price tag compared to its precious metal content and Bitcoin value is due to several reasons:

-The coin has a total mintage of only 2009 coins. Low mintage coin runs like that cost Much more to mint than typical runs of bullion rounds where 500,000+ coins are minted.
-The costs to design the artwork for the coin, and to manufacture the 2 dies needed to mint it are factored in.
-The costs for the 2009 ounces of Silver, and the total 20.09 Bitcoins funded within all of the coins.
-The costs to design and manufacture the custom, tamper-evident security hologram are factored in.
-This coin is a Proof coin, which adds to the costs. Compared to standard "business" strikes, Proof-struck coins take a lot more time and effort to manufacture, and usually after each single coin is struck, the 2 dies are hand-polished to assure its Proof quality isn't flawed.
-Then there is the time needed to securely generate the private keys and assemble each coin with its hologram.
-Also it comes with a COA and custom case I believe, which adds to the costs.
-Lastly, on top of all of that some must be added onto the costs so that a profit can be made, and the manufacturer didn't do all this work for nothing.

Hello everyone Im about to put a exchange Service scam on the Op SHVBD, as he trying not to refund my money WU given back to him, I need help this please.

249  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Binary Eagle - Sol Noctis - 1 Bitcoin Cent on: June 16, 2015, 10:41:16 PM
Interesting side note for this coin also: APMEX, which is a very large coin/bullion dealer in the US, has this coin available for sale here.

Wow.  That is a huge deal.  I might actually buy one from APMEX just to support their decision to begin selling physical Bitcoins.  I thought selling them pre-loaded was illegal and what got Casascius shut down.  Very interested to see how APMEX handles this.

Okay, this is my last post in here, promise! I agree Og, that is awesome about APMEX selling these! I know they've had them listed for a couple months now at least. I think in the case of APMEX selling loaded physical Bitcoins in the US, it is probably just oversight, misunderstanding, or a don't ask/don't tell situation. Or, they could have had their large legal team discuss it, I have no idea!

You should drop them a message inquiring about them listing/selling NastyFans 1 oz. and 5 oz. coins! Seeing a NastyFans 1 oz. minted seat for sale on APMEX would be epic! Would def. get NastyFans a lot of exposure too. I found the Sol Noctis Bitcoin listed when looking through the "Generic 1 oz. Silver Rounds" section months ago, and I know tons and tons of people look at 1 oz. Silver rounds on APMEX. Provident possibly would be willing to sell them too if you were wanting to go that route.
250  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Binary Eagle - Sol Noctis - 1 Bitcoin Cent on: June 16, 2015, 09:52:22 PM
Agreed, damn EU customs  Angry The EU commission and US are working on a trade agreement as we speak. If and only if they can agree - then could custom duties between EU and US be eliminated already next year.
If that happens then is it time for celebration!

I always feel sorry for you EU guys for having to pay such outrageous VAT taxes, especially when you are usually already paying higher for international shipping as it is. To me, VAT taxes seem like a mafia shakedown/theft by your government. But as is the saying over here, "Nothing is certain in life but death and taxes."

I agree, a celebration would be in order if there were no VAT taxes between the US and EU anymore. I think that would be a great development for worldwide trade and economics. However, VAT taxes Must be a pretty big cash cow for the gov...  it's hard to see them cutting off such a big source of revenue, you know?
On a side note I probably won't post in this thread too much more, I feel like I've been hijacking it with off-topic stuff!
251  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Binary Eagle - Sol Noctis - 1 Bitcoin Cent on: June 16, 2015, 09:43:18 PM
Well written, snarlpill.

I also love those Silver Wallets, but I can't afford to buy one @ the States, as surely they will go visiting the Portuguese Customs. Right now, I have 2 coins in the Customs and 2 Cascasius coins are almost there... Cry

If you're wanting to buy a Silver Wallet but worried about Customs, then I would message Blazedout419 directly. He is co-owner of Silver Wallets and I've seen him tell buyers he could mark the value at the spot price for 1 ounce of silver for them, which is ~$16.00 at the moment. Also, they have some great sales prices going on right now in anticipation of their new release, you can check those out in Mitchełł's thread.

This is a great example of why buying/selling on BitcoinTalk can be much better than a centralized marketplace like eBay; you can have much greater communication here. And I can vouch for ct1aic, I have sold him items through eBay and BitcoinTalk and he is a good buyer and a great guy.
252  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Binary Eagle - Sol Noctis - 1 Bitcoin Cent on: June 16, 2015, 09:14:32 PM
It's a brilliant looking coin, but doesn't anyone else think the going price of 80 euro is a bit excessive? 0.01 is worth what.. $2.50 and the silver content itself is worth less than $20? I get the whole bitcent thing but 0.10 would have been more appropriate?

Well, first off you can find them for around $80 USD, which is cheaper than 80 euro.

Sorry for getting a bit wordy and off-topic there, but I just wanted to try and explain why sometimes coins like these are priced higher than what people think they should be. This was also discussed recently in the Silver Wallets thread and explained by Blazedout419 nicely: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=983211.msg10835977#msg10835977

Hi, my great friend snarlpill.

The coin is lovely and don't forget that it's a 1oz of .999 silver. That's better than the 0.01BTC... The only coin I like more than this one is the 1oz silver Casascius 1BTC. Not for the design and hologram, but because the history it represents, as being the first "family" of physical BTC.

I do recommend that you buy one of these Digital Eagles. You can find several @ eBay.

Yes, I definitely agree that .999 Silver physical Bitcoins are some of my favorites! Plus they combine Silver and Bitcoin, 2 of my favorite things and 2 separate but equally important stores of wealth and forms of currency! Plus, coins struck in pure silver just have such beauty and luster/shine to them, specially with a Proof minting.
Thanks for the link friend, will definitely have to add one of those to my "Watch List" so I can remember to buy one when I am able to.
253  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Binary Eagle - Sol Noctis - 1 Bitcoin Cent on: June 16, 2015, 08:31:39 PM
Awesome pictures ct1aic! Those look really nice up close, great details. I think it's a pity that the last characters of each Bitcoin address weren't engraved for whatever reason, but as Took pointed out at least you can use the First bits to find the address. And it's only 0.01 BTC, so I think that's a smaller problem maybe than if they were funded with a whole Bitcoin and the address was wrong. I still want one of these for my collection ever since I randomly came across it in an eBay search for "physical Bitcoins" a while back.

Interesting side note for this coin also: APMEX, which is a very large coin/bullion dealer in the US, has this coin available for sale here. That may not seem like a big deal, but APMEX is a Huge, well-known company, and I'm pretty damn sure that is the first physical Bitcoin they've ever sold! This could lead to even more cross exposure between buyers of gold & silver coins and physical Bitcoins/digital Bitcoin.

Also, I am pretty sure this is the first physical Bitcoin coming out of Poland! Physical BTC coins are definitely a worldwide movement.
254  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Possible solution for paypal trading ? on: June 16, 2015, 07:46:28 PM
There should be like an option to transfer money without the option of a chargeback, that would be the easiest solution but doesnt seem like paypal cares too much about this.

There is an option available for transferring money without a chargeback, it is called Bitcoin.  Wink Cheesy
But yeah, I don't think PayPal would ever do that, because they are all about their "Buyer Protection" services they provide. The best way to transfer PayPal in a P2P trade though is to send the money through Friends & Family. Doing it this way the person receiving it doesn't have to pay any fees, and there is less chance of a chargeback occurring, but I've heard it can still be done. Best option is to only trade with a trusted trading partner who wouldn't pull some unnecessary chargeback BS.

If your account gets on negative you have to pay the amount back? What happens if you dont, any legal actions can be taken by paypal?

I'm sure they have the right to take legal action if your account gets in the negative and you owe them money. I'm almost 100% sure this is one of the terms you have to agree to in their "Terms and Conditions" in order to be able to use PayPal.
255  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] [WTS] RAVENBIT NODE BRONZE physical bitcoins on: June 16, 2015, 05:36:54 PM
I bought a single from digicoinuser the other day, and decided to go ahead and buy a 10 pack with PayPal last night after knocking back a few cold ones.  Cheesy

Looking forward to receiving these, hopefully I'll get lucky and get one of the 10 packs that have every color address in it! A question though: Does a single 10 pack come with the Airtites and coin tube, or is that only with 2 rolls of 10 or more?

Thanks snarlpill - got your order and it will go out today.

Airtites and tube are only included with orders of 20 or more, although I can add an option to purchase the Airtites separately on the website.

Sweet, good deal.

257  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ===►Maidak scammed me 400$ BTC,this time is for sure===► on: June 15, 2015, 09:10:16 AM
Looks like Maidak has gone in to hiding or is too ashamed to show his face again here.

He's not been on for nearly 2 weeks now, personally I would post every bit of info I had on him, his family and friends.

Contact as many of them via facebook, phone and txt and let them all know exactly what he has done followed up by passing all that info on to the authorities.

$400 is bad enough but the other guy who posted in the scam accusation thread is down $5k.

If he does show up with some sob story I hope no one falls for the shit as there is no excuse for stealing from others.

I don't mean to sound like a dick here, and I know firsthand that some fucked up shit can happen in life, but I have to say I agree. Unless he has been in a coma or extremely terrible situation there is no reason why he couldn't have at least popped up on here Once to tell the people he owes what's going on. I would not be calm, cool, and collected as that one guy is who is owed $5000 for months...  You will not make it in life if you just let people get away with taking 5 grand from you, and I don't mean any offense to the victim(s). At that point after $5000 is taken you are not only robbed but if you don't do as much as you can to stop the thief/defaulter then you are almost enabling them to keep doing it.

I'm not saying Maidak is a bad guy and shouldn't be forgiven if he repays what is owed, but I do think any negative feedbacks should remain and that his trading here should be rightfully tarnished. It would take literally 5 minutes (enough time to reply to a text message) to get on BitcoinTalk and briefly explain the situation. We ALL know that problems and unexpected situations can happen in life when money (or anything) is involved, but any good trader knows that communication is KEY if and when any problems arrive with a transaction.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: anyone read this article: The scam called Bitcoin? on: June 15, 2015, 04:39:27 AM
Yes, I have read the article. And even though I dislike the article & its negative tones about Bitcoin, I do see the author's point (and it has been brought up before). I.e.- Person A plans on not spending their Bitcoin because they hope the price will increase in the future and they'll be rich, so they let person B spend theirs. Person B does the same thing and doesn't spend any of their BTC, and the economy dries up because of no people spending it.

However, I disagree because I love to spend BTC and do it all the time! It is a streamlined, non-invasive way of buying everything, and you often find cheaper prices listed for goods compared to higher prices for Credit Card & PayPal, because of the processing fees the vendor has to pay with cards. I find it beneficial and enjoyable to spend BTC, and I still believe it will increase in price in the future. So if the price increases any BTC holdings I have will be worth more, and I still helped the BTC
 economy along the way.

[...]
And the final conclusion is "The future might not belong to Bitcoin, but it should to its technology."

Seems to be the new approach by main stream media: Bitcoin - boo! Blockchain - yay!

I agree, everybody is taking about blockchain technology now that they have finally noticed it. I still think any discussion of blockchain tech. is positive for BTC though, it's just more and more overall exposure.  Cool
259  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Possible solution for paypal trading ? on: June 15, 2015, 04:24:18 AM
I think the only way to really do PP to BTC safely is to small amounts traded with a highly trusted member, and growing a trading relationship with that person over time. And even that is never a guarantee of security, or some people will charge you high percentage exchange rates. Check the "Currency Exchange" section on here though and try to find a trusted member to build an honest trading relationship with.

I sell some things on eBay and occasionally look to trade small amounts of my PP for BTC at market rates, so feel free to send me a message sometime if you're ever looking to trade your BTC to PayPal. I know for a fact that I wouldn't scam anybody with a chargeback if I received their BTC, but of course the only way for someone to believe that is by trading with me over time. After all, a scammer will always say they are honest to pull off a scam, you can never blindly believe somebody on just their word.
260  Economy / Scam Accusations / Potential Scam Site - thebtcescrow.com - False Escrow on: June 14, 2015, 04:19:27 PM
This is just a warning thread for now, as I have no evidence the site has scammed yet, but all of the warning signs are there and it is my personal opinion that they should be fully avoided.

Back Story:
There was a user that posted a WTS (Want To Sell) thread in the Goods section yesterday selling 2 iPhones for $1200. His OP (Original Post) stated that he would do the sale with ESCROW ONLY. Stating that he would only sell the phones if escrow was used, I believe it was to lure any potential buyers into a false sense of security/safety. When asked by another user what escrow he would use, he replied "www. thebtcescrow.com - used it a few times, seems decent."

However, the mod malevolent was quick to research the website www.thebtcescrow.com with a WHOIS search and found that it was created just one day before the iPhone sale thread was posted:

You think anyone's going to fall for your scam?

WHOIS thebtcescrow.com:

Code:
Updated Date: 2015-06-12T06:45:31.00Z
Creation Date: 2015-06-12T13:45:00.00Z
Registrar Registration Expiration Date: 2016-06-12T13:45:00.00Z

Knowing that the website had only been created a day earlier, it became obvious that the claims posted on thebtcescrow.com website were 100% bullshit. The website claimed it had processed 10,000+ escrow transactions with a 100% satisfaction rate, and that they had 57 employees. There is even a physical location listed for the "thebtcescrow.com business", which is almost guaranteed to be a fake location, or a real location that is occupied by another business.

Also, as the website had only been up for 1 day, the user selling the iPhones had obviously not "used it a few times." It should be noted that the user selling the iPhones is most likely the creator of the scam website thebtcescrow.com.

I checked the site out, and there is not even any way of setting up escrow for a legitimate transaction on there...
I clicked "Create Escrow" after typing '1' into the "Bitcoin Amount" field and it gives you a Bitcoin address to deposit to and a 'tracking number', and says to notify them once you have received your item. There are no fields to enter details about the transaction, no payment address for the seller's Bitcoin to be transferred to after the buyer receives the item, etc. These are all important factors that should be included when setting up escrow for a transaction, and they are not present on the site.

Do NOT fall for escrow scams like this! Scamming via a corrupt escrow provider is a common scam, and as a buyer you may feel more safe when the seller says they will only use escrow. However, only use a trusted & unbiased escrow provider like OgNasty, devthedev, or another highly trusted member.
