2421  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can hit $50k? on: January 15, 2021, 06:42:33 AM
*only $50k? I think it's too easy for Bitcoin...
in the future Bitcoin is predicted to touch $ 100k, $ 200k even $ 400k, regardless of whether it may be achieved or not, let's pay attention and prove together.

Nothing is easy. Right now, Bitcoin is trading at $38,000 per coin, with a market capitalization of $706 billion. In order to reach $50,000, it needs to increase its market cap by another $223 billion. Do you really believe that this is a small amount? Just to give a comparison, in the NASDAQ stock exchange, only 6 stocks have a market cap higher than this amount.
2422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: January 15, 2021, 06:32:19 AM
I believe there are early stage of sale and they will evaluate if the sale is good, if not then they will eventually drop the price, maybe we don't buy yet if we are interested on this fight, wait until the price drop, and then you'll get a cheaper price... I don't know if it's possible but it just came into my mind as I really don't believe this fight should be valued that high for a PPV.

With the lockdowns back in place, a lot of people will be having spare time to watch sports events. And remember that the match between KSI and Logan Paul resulted in more than a million PPV buys. If a fight between two amateurs can attract this many buys, then you can imagine the sort of revenue that Mayweather can bring. My only concern is that the match would be scripted and that would be injustice to the millions who purchase the PPV at such high rates.
2423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Dying on: January 15, 2021, 06:22:40 AM
Psst. You can use Bitcoin for whatever purpose you may see fit. You want to use it as an investment? A payment currency? A way of having real ownership over your money? A way of hiding your wealth from the government? You may even use it to buy those anime waifu pillows or Belle Delphine's bath water and I don't care one bit. Because that's the point! You have complete freedom with Bitcoin, and you don't need to care what people think!

This is the perfect reply. Satoshi never specifically said that Bitcoins can't be used as an investment asset. And I don't believe that there is really a difference in purchasing United States Treasury Bonds for investment and keeping BTC as an investment asset. Users are free to do whatever they want to do with Bitcoin. The OP doesn't have any right to dictate the terms to them.
2424  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: January 15, 2021, 06:03:14 AM
The first American dollar appeared in 1785. 236 years have passed, and the dollar is feeling confident and not going to leave the world market. The first bitcoin was born a little over ten years ago. Maybe in 226 years it will conquer the entire world market. In the meantime, it is too early to talk about any superiority of cryptocurrency on fiat money.

The first USD banknote was printed more than 200 years ago, but USD became the reserve currency of the world only in 1945. Before that, USD was in the same position as Bitcoin is currently. And it is very difficult to imagine Bitcoin surviving for 100 or 200 years. Each and every technological innovation has a limited lifespan. It can be 10 years, or even 100 years. But eventually, some other innovation is going to replace it.
2425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 15, 2021, 05:51:23 AM
98 runs on 163 balls, this partnership between Marnus- Wade is hurting now. Shardul thakur leaking runs and going 4.50 per over, Rahane need to be careful with the run rate Aussie scoring right now, almost 5 runs per over in last 10 overs. Its seems Marnus is set for big 100 this time.

Wade is gone, with Natarajan getting his first wicket. But Labuschagne got his century before that. He got out for 91 in Sydney, but managed to get in to three digits this time. Now it is up to Cameron Green, to provide support for Labuschagne. After Green the tail will start, with Paine in such pathetic form. Australians must thank the quota policy of South Africa. Without the South African import, India could have whitewashed Australia in this series.
2426  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin's price drop to 30K healthy? on: January 15, 2021, 05:22:20 AM
https://www.fr24news.com/a/2021/01/analysts-say-bitcoin-price-drop-to-30k-was-healthy-and-necessary.html

Analysts say Bitcoin price drop to $ 30K was ‘healthy and necessary’

First of all I don't care much about these "experts" and "analysts" because their predictions are almost always wrong. And secondly, we need such drops from time to time, in order to get rid of the less serious investors. There are a bunch of noobs out there who are dreaming of becoming millionaires overnight. When Bitcoin drops by 20% or 30% in a day, these users will dump their coins and make their exit.
2427  Economy / Economics / Re: The sale of the COVID-19 vaccine on the dark web continues. on: January 15, 2021, 05:12:50 AM
But the risky is not only your money but also our health because we do not know if this is the real vaccines or fake. This time we need more safety even our health , we know that dark web is like a hell so why we need to risk ourself with this. Be careful this time.

I have read about people purchasing cancer medications from dark market websites, as they can't afford to purchase them from normal shops. These medications are in most cases real and effective, mostly manufactured in countries such as Bangladesh and India. In the US/EU, these drugs are overpriced by a factor of 10x or 20x, due to reasons well known to everyone. In most cases, the users don't have a choice.
2428  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown due to covid19 is painful on: January 15, 2021, 04:47:27 AM
The new strain of Corona Virus is slowly spreading and starting to reach different countries. If this spread is not contained at the early stage, we will go back where we started to, another lockdown might happen to secure tat the virus doesn't spread as bad how the firdt wave of Covid did.

It is just not one new strain. There are multiple strains being reported from all around the world, and many of them are highly contagious. It was expected, as more than 90 million people are infected till date and the viruses are known to mutate rapidly. However, the good news is that none of the strains seems to be resistant to the vaccines. So the current bunch of vaccines should be able to contain them.
2429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: January 15, 2021, 04:05:26 AM
I think it should be done. The team with the last position in the points table will be transferred to I-league, and the team at the top of the points table in the I-league will be given a chance at ISL. This will improve the quality of I-league. The competition to stay at the top will increase. Overall, Indian football will improve.

If I am not wrong, earlier there was a proposal for something like this. But there was huge opposition from the I-league teams, who don't want to admit that now they are playing in a second tier league. Even FIFA has written to the AIFF, about the difficulty of having two leagues at the top. To complicate the matters further, I-League contain some of the oldest football clubs in India and it is not very easy to ignore their demands.
2430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 15, 2021, 03:55:37 AM
Breaking the partnership between Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith was the big task for the Indian bowlers, and they managed to do that. Now the Aussies are in backfoot. Labuschagne is still there, but there is a chance that he will soon run out of support. Middle order batsmen like Matthew Wade and Tim Paine are in very poor form right now. I would have rather asked Cameron Green to bat ahead of Wade.
2431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 14, 2021, 05:35:24 AM
Is anyone also watching the Test match between SL and ENG?

Just checked it on Google and found the probability of winning is more inclined towards SL and not ENG. This will be an interesting match to watch as I was expecting the English team has a good chance. SL has won the toss and chose to bat first

Sri Lanka had a horrible series in South Africa and therefore I would consider England as the favorites. But the latter is playing without some of their key players. Right now Sri Lanka is struggling at 22/2, with Stuart Broad picking up both the wickets (his test wicket tally has now increased to 516). Surprisingly, England has chosen two spinners in the playing XI (Dom Bess and Jack Leach).
2432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 14, 2021, 05:23:02 AM
Kerala just need 46 runs in 56 balls and Mohammed Azharuddeen scored a century in 37 balls.

Damm! if this was an international tournament and then this would have become a record. I did some search on Google and found that AB De Villiers holds a record of the fastest century which was in just 31 balls against the West Indies in 2015.

He scored his century from 37 balls, which makes it the 13th fastest century in T20 cricket.

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/wi/content/records/305876.html

The record is still being held by Universe Boss Chris Gayle, who blasted a century from just 30 balls (Royal Challengers Bangalore v Pune Warriors, in 2013). Back then he scored 175 runs out of the RCB total of 263/5 in 20 overs. Aaron Finch went for 29 runs in 6 balls, while Ali Murtaza went for 45 from his 12.

2434  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Countries start cracking down on social media giants on: January 14, 2021, 04:50:26 AM
I am glad that at least some of the countries are taking steps to prevent the corporations from deciding who should win the elections. For more than a decade, the cabal of Google, Twitter, Facebook.etc have been trying to suppress the voice from anyone who doesn't belong to the ultra-left. Censorship is not the real issue here. I am concerned with selective censorship. Islamists and radical leftists who provoke violence are allowed to further spread their poison, while harmless posts from the other end of the spectrum gets deleted and the user gets removed from the platform.
2435  Economy / Economics / Re: Trump bans Alipay and seven other Chinese apps on: January 14, 2021, 04:40:18 AM
Don't worry just few week later Donald Trump left his position as United State president and now he will make many controversial way to change some thing big where not support him at the election time last year, we know how trump fired many minister because not want investigating about election result and claimed his competitor Joe Bidden cheating, I think not give anything with bans Alipay because when Joe Bidden become United President will be legal back.

It will not be very easy for Joe Biden to reverse the ban. If he does so, then he will fall into the trap that was set by Trump. In reality Trump isn't much concerned about Alipay or any other Chinese app. He wants to create a difficult situation for Biden, who received a lot of funding from the Chinese corporations. If Biden reverse the ban, then the GOP will accuse him of being pro-China. If he refrains from it, then his Chinese supporters would be angry.
2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 14, 2021, 04:33:08 AM
No update on Indian squad, only speculation. On the other hand Will Pucovski is also injured and Marcus Harris is going to replace him as opener along with Warner.

Pucovski made one good contribution, and now he is gone too. Marcus Harris was dropped because of poor form, and he performed poorly during the warmup matches as well. But I guess Australia is running out of options now. Anyway, irrespective of the outcome of the 4th match, this series will put them in a very difficult position as far as the World Test Championship is concerned.
2437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry guys.. Bitcoin is not for our day-to-day transactions. on: January 13, 2021, 05:23:57 AM
As an asset, we do not have to use bitcoin for a day-to-day transaction. We have the other coins that have a low fee for making a transaction, and I am sure that it will come the day for us to use that coins to store our bitcoin for the other purposes. So if you want to have fiat, you can sell your bitcoin, and do not use bitcoin for another transaction instead to save more bitcoin. People will have their own decision to use bitcoin as their daily transaction or use the other altcoin because it is about comfortably for each person will be different.

Agreed. Some people are not yet ready to agree that Bitcoin is primarily used as a speculative investment asset now, rather than as a currency. Bitcoin can be used as a payment medium. But rather than using Bitcoin directly, it will be better to use third party services such as BitPay for this purpose. Third party processors can resolve the issue of high transaction fee and delays in getting confirmations.
2438  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2020-12-29 FoxBusiness - Panthers' Okung first NFL player to be paid in bitcoin on: January 13, 2021, 05:12:41 AM
@ Harlot. It might only be a paid for advertisement from a new bitcoin payment processor called Strike hehe. This appears to be a new form of marketing tactic similar to reality TV became a new form of sitcom hehe.

This is surprising, because the article appeared on Fox News (I came across it for the first time last month) and I never thought that it was a promotional campaign. Anyways I was wondering why he is taking a huge risk in converting half of his salary to Bitcoin (the article claims that he made the request in 2019, when the Bitcoin exchange rates were quite suppressed).
2439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 13, 2021, 05:01:08 AM
They didn't include him in the squad yet so i am not sure if we should believe the unnamed source or not. No idea about Sundar's first class career but this doesn't look that bad. With this move Indian tail look okay as Ashwin,Sundar and Shardul can bat as well.

Sundar can bat, but he is not as good as Jadeja in the batting department. So essentially India is going with two spinners for the fourth test match, which I believe is a bad idea. They could have used the slot to include another pacer (probably Natarajan). The Indian team needs to be careful here. If they win one more match, then they can create history in Australia.
2440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was not wrong to bought bitcoin. on: January 13, 2021, 04:51:20 AM
I bought Bitcoin a few days ago for12 thousand dollars.  At that time the price of one bitcoin was 28 thousand dollars.  At present, the price of Bitcoin is 37 thousand dollars.  Which is really good news for me.  I made a post after buying bitcoin to see if I made a mistake in buying bitcoin.  I was convinced that I had done nothing wrong and that it was now clear.
Below is a link to my previous post:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5305436.msg55985225#msg55985225

So the price was $28,000 per coin when you made the purchase, which means that you received 0.42 BTC in your wallet. You don't seems to have a plan on what to do with these coins yet. First you need to decide whether you want to go for short-term, or long-term investment. In case you don't want to hold your coins for too long, then you can set your stop-loss target as well as the target for profit booking.
