2546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC on Mac - Savings wallet and security on: February 11, 2014, 01:01:51 PM
So I'm reading the Wiki about making my wallet secure.  And it's talking about using a twelve character password and having one wallet for savings.
But my BTC client just boots right up with no password required
And when I try to install another client on my iMac it accesses the same wallet.dat file.  Or I think that's what it does, as it shows my balance and transactions.

So what's up with that?  Where do I go from here? Does Mac need it's own wiki?
No, just encrypt your wallet.   Cheesy

2548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free BTC Giveaways on Bitcointalk on: February 10, 2014, 10:54:21 PM
Very good thread OP, however, can you confirm that everything you link is legit and that the sites are paying out, or are you leaving it to the individual contest hosts?

The OP was last updated on Dec 17, and thus the info may be out of date.

Hmm that's true, well, I guess the OPs in the linked threads will provide answers
2549  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.5 BTC/month to Advertise Bit777 & Peerbet! on: February 10, 2014, 10:48:29 PM
Is this offer still going on guys?is it .0001 btc per post with a minimum of 50 posts per month?
yes if you create account in bit777 or peerbet then you get 0.0002 its one of best campaign
Do I still get paid in my btc wallet if I make an account in bit777 or do I get btc just for betting within bit777? Thanks for the reply mate.
you no need to do betting as they pay you in site you can withdraw without playing and any problem I am taking for this for many months
You avoid mentioning that you'll have to make a deposit of your own btc onto the actual bit777 account to make a withdrawal. This is why it seems kinda sketchy to me and also why I'm letting them pay me to my wallet address.

Its quite cool and all but one question just keeps popping into my head… why?
Technological advancements like these are cool etc but it would be -even- cooler if it actually served a purpose and could be used for something.

2552  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Interesting https://ltc4you.com account with 100 referral? on: February 10, 2014, 02:09:54 AM
So basically you're not guaranteed any profits, as it's a gambling site,  however your chances of winning increases by the amount of referrals you have?
2553  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why i can not post now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: February 10, 2014, 02:07:22 AM
The only thing that could've made this post more unbearable was if he had included his wallet address and asked for 'help'. Undecided

2555  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hi-Lo game sites on: February 10, 2014, 12:34:28 AM
I never try to multiply my winnings on those free sites, it's just not profitable.. just keep the earnings and cash out once the threshold is reached.
2556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 50BTC on a wrecked HDD being sold at a Polish auction site on: February 10, 2014, 12:29:42 AM
Spending 50 bucks on lottery tickets would be more profitable than this, hope the poor fellah who gets it will be wiser from the experience.
2557  Other / Off-topic / Re: Awesome website. Consider helping. on: February 10, 2014, 12:27:28 AM
Suspicious about what? Just a meaningless site with nothing in it.
Complete waste of time - 0/10

First thing I did when I heard about this was I ****ed my macbook with an axe, burned my 3 iPhones and crushed my iPad with a sledgehammer.

2560  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll: Gambling or Investing? on: February 10, 2014, 12:11:21 AM
Gambling is definitely the most fun, but personally I'd never take that risk, it's common knowledge that you lose on average.

And, you can invest in a gambling site. Tongue
I suppose that's true!
