I don't mine bitcoin with my GPU, geez do you think I'm retarded or something :/

valid point Smiley

Sorry, I actually though you would think mining BTC with a GPU is still profitable....
Haha nono, I guess none of us were clear enough on what we meant.
I think looking for a new gpu was unrelated to the actual mining itself and it's profitability Smiley
2302  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best bitcoin casino? on: February 25, 2014, 05:40:45 PM
Bit777 is pretty nice, members get free Bitcoins every now and then
Is bit777 still working? It was bought a little more than a week ago by another 'company' (site?),
their advertising campaign was stopped etc. I thought they were going to rework the websites a
bit and so on.
If it's still working tho it's one of the better sites.
2303  Other / Off-topic / Re: Whats is your IQ? on: February 25, 2014, 05:39:15 PM
You are correct it is rare but you are polling a worldwide sample in a tech forum that draws lots of people.
If you were just in a small region your polling would show a much smaller % of people with high IQ's.
There are I'm sure people boasting or being funny too.

I find it quite obvious that 10 people on this forum doesn't have 0-80 IQ, as that would be considered as quite severe retardation.
That said, I don't believe 30+ people have 150+ IQ either.
Liars, liars everywhere.

.... how do you know?
Statistics? Average IQ? Ofcourse I can't -know- but I find it very unlikely that we would have so many of 150+ on this forum
when all you have to do is google to see just -how- rare it is.
Hm I suppose you're right. Also we're not getting answers from
-everyone- viewing this poll so I assume a lot of factors aren't
quite there if we wanted to determine actual facts.
2304  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.5btc/month for your signature on: February 25, 2014, 05:37:13 PM

Thanks for confirming! However there are some parts in the formula I don't understand, like what do "min" and "14, posts" mean? I was talking with someone who registered a week ago and already has activity of 28 which seems odd to me.
To be totally honest with you I don't exactly understand the formula either, but yes, my first 28 activity came faster than 4 weeks as well I believe.
Okay Cheesy I'm just hoping my activity increases to 50 before 15th of March  Smiley

its confusing me also i registered feb 17 and already got 28 activity
I think we're clear on that the first 28 activity points are given faster than the others.

Sidenote: Would be good if OP could post here a bit more regularly to confirm new entrants etc Smiley

That's cool, just as soon as you break even every day is a profit day Smiley

Nope, that GPU eats electricity, which costs money...
If you basically just save electricity by being smart and turning of electronics, unplugging charger cables etc you
save as much as the average person wastes, and that should cover the cost of the mining.

I do exactly that and also my PC is always on mining or not, so it's only like an extra 100 watts or so...it also heats my room which saves spending money on gas.
Yup yup. All it requires for it to be profitable is some economical thinking and a profit to cost calculation.
Glad you're making it work Smiley
2306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Cash Would Be Seen by the Media if Invented Today on: February 25, 2014, 04:28:38 PM
Still Awesome. As I always say, cash is just worthless pieces of paper. Meaningless.
It only has a value if everyone believes it does Smiley
But the same goes for everything I guess, including bitcoins.
2307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to call 0.001 BTC? (5 BTC Bounty) on: February 25, 2014, 04:27:19 PM
Furthermore it already has been decided by network effects, and bumping this thread once every year will not change that. It wouldn't need bumping if it was ever going to get anywhere.
This is true.
It just got necro'd because someone wanted to build their post count,
then someone else complained about the term not being catchy enough.
The thread itself is stupid, it's time to let it die. Smiley
2308  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best bitcoin casino? on: February 25, 2014, 04:26:00 PM
Just lunched http://www.royal-casino.pl I am giving away free 0.01BTC for the first 15 members!
Your site doesn't even seem to list it's payouts.
The more and more I look into this the more unlegit your site seems.
You havn't even announced if 15 members have signed, who they were, listed their payments.
No links for transactions, nothing.

No, the site does not list payouts
How did you arrive at the conclusion the site looks unlegit? you haven't even registered or tried our games
As of now from 15 , 6 members have registered and received free credit of 0.1cBTC or 0.01BTC. 3 members of 6 played for +- 30minutes and spent their free credit on games and lotto other 3 followed rollover requirement and withdrew free credit. 1 member managed to double his 0.01BTC free credit on "jackpot killer" slot machine and successfully withdrew in minutes!

It looks unlegitimate for the simple fact that it doesn't list it's payouts.

These bitcoin casino sites does not list their payouts :

bitzino.com
bc-casino.com
strikesapphire.com
bitvegas.net
...

so you are saying all these sites are unlegitimate because they don't have a list of payouts?
I'm not saying they're unlegitimate, I'm not saying yours is either.
What I do say is that it doesn't -help- to not list your (at least the bigger ones)
payouts when you're starting a -new- and -unestablished- website. These are all -personal- opinions
and it's what I base my own views on when deciding which website to use when I feel like gambling.
If people are using your website and are satisfied with it, then there's no problem, you don't have to
prove anything to me.
I'm just saying that I would feel more comfortable ( and I think many others as well ) using a new website
if they had some proof of payment.
After all it's money that you're risking.

Does anyone else notice that Zigmas, Koplea and Hurei are posting -very- oddly.
Quote things, add 2-3 semi unrelated words.
One of them even commented the topic title and added a "wow".
Are these bots?
2310  Economy / Goods / Re: Monogrammed Hankerchiefs on: February 25, 2014, 04:21:11 PM
Please provide some pictures together with measurements, size etc, also probably put a limit on how many letters you can ask for, the size of those letters etc etc.
Tl;dr add more info.

Nope, that GPU eats electricity, which costs money...
Huh? Have you used a profit calculator?
They usually include energy consumption, and unless you live in a 3rd world country
or you have the worst electricity deal of -all time-, your profits good enough hardware
should cover the small amount of extra electricity it drains. If you basically just save
electricity by being smart and turning of electronics, unplugging charger cables etc you
save as much as the average person wastes, and that should cover the cost of the mining.
2312  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think income tax is ok? on: February 25, 2014, 04:14:36 PM
Income tax is good
I have to disagree. There is nothing good about it, it's just pure communism. Income tax basically says: "you are smart, hard working, prospering person - pay more so we can take your money and redistribute (give it away on things that are important to us). You are a lazy, wife beating, alcoholic - we will give you social benefits, rehabilitation and help you pay taxes, because you are sick and need the society's help.
The only thing you leave out of the equation is the value of life.
If we can't corporate as a species in smaller communities we're
further down on the evolutionary scale than a pack of wolves.
2313  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best book you ever had? on: February 25, 2014, 04:12:28 PM
I'm working on writing some of the 'best books you ever read' - the first of which will be out in a few months.

Writing sample: https://hjbuell.com/this-is-alcoholism/

PM me if you want more details.
I read this, and I must say I kinda liked it. The descriptions were very thorough and really painted a picture.
Good work Smiley
2314  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much would you pay for this book? on: February 25, 2014, 04:08:43 PM
why pay something for that book. Its nothing new...
That's exactly the conclusion I came to myself.
I suspect half of these newbie accounts that claim they'd pay are
either the OP's own accounts or just people shitposting to get their post count up…
2315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to call 0.001 BTC? (5 BTC Bounty) on: February 25, 2014, 04:07:32 PM
It's a mbtc, we all know that.

.. and mbtc is soooo catchy. I use it all the time.

So call it a Millie for now. Catchier nicknames will arise naturally in time.

I'll wait for those catchier nicknames.

Interestingly, I've noticed that I never speak about bitcoin amounts in other than either full value or satoshi amounts, and when writing about a thousandth of a bitcoin I just write "0.001 btc".

Maybe the "mbtc" range is not needed.
A lot of PTC / earn sites uses mbtc to describe 0.001 bitcoins.
Basically I pronounce it a millie-bitcoin, which is per definition what it is, a thousandth of a bitcoin.

I'm feeling generous, give me your address and will send 0.002.
A whole dollar?
Are you a millionaire?
Cred to you for actually taking action rather than giving just giving half-bad advices on how to earn it, +1.

LOL wish I was a millionaire. I only make a couple of dollar a day with my 6870.
Yeah it was intended as a semi sarcastic joke Smiley
Oh well, when you add up those couple dollars after a while it aint to bad is it Smiley

Yea it's surprising, the card paid for it self in a month, got my eye out looking for another GPU Smiley

Okay Cheesy I'm just hoping my activity increases to 50 before 15th of March  Smiley
I think it doesn't matter when you join the 2weeks are counted according to forum date/time, the last time activity increased was on 19-20feb so that means if you might have joined this forum on 17feb and made 14posts on same day them you will have 14activity before 19feb and on 19-20 your activity can go upto 28if you stay active.. so within 3days you got 24activity pionts Tongue haha i guess i made it more confusing..!
I see exactly what you're trying to say, that the 2 week intervals are already set, they're not personal.
But I don't really think so, because up to 14 activity you get 1 point per post, updated every 30 minutes from my own experience.
That's why minimum activity isn't 14 that someone can have, people can have 3 activity or 7.
